333.

While Space Tourism is a new age reality, the NASA tours to space for research and education purposes have been a reality since years now. With all the great landmarks in history are related to some myths and some fiction. As interesting as this science fiction is the bizarre truths of some NASA tours. Whether it is the space tour of NASA or the students’ tours to the NASA centers, there is a lot of excitement, adventure, and apprehension associated with the same. This leads to some myths and some interesting fables of reality. Read on.

 334.

 335.

 336.
The story of the invention of the space pen.

 337.
It is a common science-lore that writing in zero gravity was a problem, and millions of dollars were spent to invent a pen which could write in space. The truth is that the pen was actually developed by a private company and was used by NASA because it was a cheaper option in comparison to the costlier pencils.

 338.
Astronauts returning from Space were kept in isolation.

 339.
When humans were getting prepared for their first landing on the moon, there was a hypothesis by scientists that they will be contamination with lunar pathogenic microorganisms after returning from their nasa tours; and that the human body will not be immune to those foreign pathogens. On their return, they were kept in a quarantine facility for 21 days. However, there was no ill effect of exposure to material on the moon being observed.

 340.
The famous UFO spotting.

 341.
After being back from the nasa tour, astronaut Buzz Aldrin casually remarked that he ‘thought’ he saw a UFO. The news sear like fire although he had only seen one of the panels from the separation of the spacecraft from the upper stage.

 342.
Armstrong being the first man to land on the moon was just a matter of chance.

 343.
Neil Armstrong is a name that has gone down in history while also being used as a metaphor to explain how being first is important while the second is never important. A bizarre truth is that he was the one to land on the moon first simply because it was his turn in the rotation to be the commander.

 344.
A pen was used to power the space engine

 345.
While coming back from the first NASA tour to the moon, a circuit required to power the engine was not working. It was important to complete the circuit in order for the spacecraft to come back to earth. The astronauts used an ordinary felt pen to complete that circuit. Surely, in small things lies great value.

 346.
NASA pays people to stay in bed and relax.

 347.
Scientists sure are a special breed amongst human beings and research has been an interesting field of study. On the nasa tours to space, astronauts need to be kept healthy. For this reason, scientists need to study the effect of zero gravity in space on the body of a human being. So, healthy people take up the job to lie down on beds and be under observation.

 348.
The Kennedy Space Centre has some alligators on their ‘NASA tours’.

 349.
Merritt Island, NASA’s launch site for spacecraft is also home to many wild animals. While that is not very weird given the fact that the wildlife refuge shares the island with the KSC launch site, it is interesting to note that the scientists have used this as an opportunity to study its activities effects on the environment.

 350.
So be ready to experience the NASA tours. Atlantis supplements NASA tours with an educational experience and adventurous visits to the world’s best theme parks- Disney World, Sea World, and the Universal Studios at Orlando. Since 2008, more than 6000 students have traveled with Atlantis.

 375.

We at Atlantis, are entirely encompassed by technology and the products of science every day. Public policy judgments that influence every aspect of our lives are based on scientific evidence. And, of course, the immensely complex natural world that surrounds us illustrates infinite scientific concepts. As children grow up in an increasingly technologically and scientifically advanced world, they need to be scientifically literate to succeed.

 376.

 377.
Ideally, teaching the science program through the scientific method to students is teaching them how to think, learn, solve problems and make informed decisions. These skills are integral to every viewpoint of a student’s education and life, from school to profession.

 378.
You know what, Science program is omnipresent. A pupil rides to school on a bus, and in that case alone, there are myriads of examples of technology based on the science program through the scientific method. The school bus is a product of many areas of science and technology, including mechanical engineering and modification. The systems of roads, sidewalks, and other infrastructure are carefully designed by civil technicians and planners. The smartphone in the student’s hand is a revelation of modern computer engineering.

 379.
Outside the window, trees turn daylight into banked energy and create the oxygen we need to survive. Whether “natural” or human-derived, every phase of a student’s life is filled with science — from their own internal biology to the flat-screen TV in the living room. Experimentation based on the scientific method follows a similar course: Combine a scientific question with research to construct a hypothesis; conduct experiments to test that hypothesis; evaluate the results to draw conclusions, and communicate those conclusions.
380.
382.

 383.

 384.
Possibly even more prominent than particular instances of science program in our lives are the styles we use scientific thought or science program, process and inquiry to come to our conclusions. This is not significantly a purposive thing. The human need to solve problems can arise from curiosity or from the requirement. The method of inquiry is how we uncover answers and incarnate those answers. You know what, Science program is omnipresent. A pupil rides to school on a bus, and in that case alone, there are myriads of examples of technology based on the science program through the scientific method.

 385.
The school bus is a product of many areas of science and technology, including mechanical engineering and modification. Public policy judgments that influence every aspect of our lives are based on scientific evidence.

 386.
In the realms of hard science program, the manner of a query is more uninterrupted and finite: Take a question; use evidence to form an explanation; connect that explanation to existing knowledge, and communicate that evidence-based explanation. Experimentation based on the scientific method follows a similar course: Combine a scientific question with research to construct a hypothesis; conduct experiments to test that hypothesis; evaluate the results to draw conclusions, and communicate those conclusions.

 442.

Any educational program can be distinguished as a successful program if it meets its most important purpose- inculcating the spirit of the educational program amongst its students and successfully delivering its learning outcomes thereby producing successful and accomplished students.

 443.

 444.
1. Increase Knowledge:

 445.

 446.
Understanding to explore solutions and create new ideas and concepts.

 447.
Ability to design a system to answer needs through analysis of the interaction between essential technologies.

 448.
Knowledge management ability to bring the technological, marketing, organisation and social knowledge into innovations.

 449.

 450.
2. It imparts knowledge and not just gives information:

 451.
A good educational program focuses on imparting knowledge to its students. Knowledge must be differentiated from information in the sense that knowledge is deeply imbibed by the student through a thorough understanding of the concepts while information can be extracted from Google as well. Information can be cramped but only knowledge can be applied to different situations.

 452.
3. It focuses on experience-based learning:

 453.
An educational program is successful if it encourages the students to explore and feeds their curiosity. A student needs to be intellectually curious to learn new concepts. An outstanding educational program such as offered by Atlantis not only teaches the concepts of STEM to students but makes them experience those concepts hands on. The trajectory of a rocket is not taught to students by paper and pen, but by flying of real rockets and real measurement and analysis.

 454.
4. It focuses on applications of the educational program:

 455.
Any knowledge is useful when the student can apply it to real life situations. A successful educational program drives the application of concepts and puts students into challenging projects that take out their best of abilities and analytical skills to the forth. Once a student has measured the height of a building using trigonometry, the concept becomes easy forever. The most important feature of an extraordinary educational program is that its students will not find any concept burdensome. Learning is always fun and adventurous!

 456.
5. It focuses on personality development of students:

 457.
An educational program is successful if it provides education for life. In the educational programs offered by Atlantis, students not only learn the concepts in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) but also learn soft skills like teamwork, leadership, communication and time management while they work in teams on certain projects. A gamified version of learning is presented to students and makes them self motivated, goal oriented, creative and skilled at resource management.

 458.
6. A good education program is developed with passion:

 459.
Another important feature of a good education program is its development and execution. Educators who are passionate about learning and teaching develop an education program which is not only fun to undergo but is filled with learning and skill development. An experienced educator imbibes years of learning into the development of the content of a successful education program. That which is created with admiration and the desire to share becomes engaging and adventurous to participate in.

 460.
7. Enhancement of social competencies:

 461.
Social competencies include intellectual activities, social interpersonal relationships, and skills in self-control. Students will learn important skills in listening, thinking, communicating and moving forward through independent study, group work and double-loop learning.

 462.
8. Enhancement of inventiveness:

 463.
Inventiveness is based on creativity, industrial engineering, and knowledge-based society. Through this phase, students will take systematically structured Basic/Technical courses to learn to be innovative based on the knowledge science methods.

 464.
9. Skill development:

 465.
Another important feature of a good education program is its development and performance. Instructors who are enthusiastic about learning and teaching develop an education program that is not only fun to share, but also full of learning and skill development. An experienced teacher gives years of learning in the material development of a successful education program. That which is created with respect and the desire to share becomes pleasant and adventurous to participate in.

 466.
Each educational program at Atlantis is developed by experts and highly experienced educators. Whether it is the Astrotrek, Scitrek or the Aerospace and Science Discovery Camp, the STEM educational programs offered by Atlantis are outstanding in terms of their content and delivery. 486.

Read on.

 487.

 488.
The story of the invention of the space pen.

 489.
It is a common science-lore that writing in zero gravity was a problem, and millions of dollars were spent to invent a pen which could write in space. The truth is that the pen was actually developed by a private company and was used by NASA because it was a cheaper option in comparison to the costlier pencils.

 490.
Astronauts returning from Space were kept in isolation.

 491.

 492.
The famous UFO spotting.

 493.
After being back from the nasa tour, astronaut Buzz Aldrin casually remarked that he ‘thought’ he saw a UFO. The news sear like fire although he had only seen one of the panels from the separation of the spacecraft from the upper stage.

 494.
Armstrong being the first man to land on the moon was just a matter of chance.

 495.
Neil Armstrong is a name that has gone down in history while also being used as a metaphor to explain how being first is important while the second is never important. A bizarre truth is that he was the one to land on the moon first simply because it was his turn in the rotation to be the commander.

 496.
A pen was used to power the space engine

 497.
While coming back from the first NASA tour to the moon, a circuit required to power the engine was not working. It was important to complete the circuit in order for the spacecraft to come back to earth. The astronauts used an ordinary felt pen to complete that circuit. Surely, in small things lies great value.

 498.
NASA pays people to stay in bed and relax.

 499.

 500.
The Kennedy Space Centre has some alligators on their ‘NASA tours’.

 501.
Merritt Island, NASA’s launch site for spacecraft is also home to many wild animals. While that is not very weird given the fact that the wildlife refuge shares the island with the KSC launch site, it is interesting to note that the scientists have used this as an opportunity to study its activities effects on the environment.

 502.
So be ready to experience the NASA tours. Atlantis supplements NASA tours with an educational experience and adventurous visits to the world’s best theme parks- Disney World, Sea World, and the Universal Studios at Orlando. Since 2008, more than 6000 students have traveled with Atlantis.
