Criou-se toda uma história em redor de CM Punk e do seu reinado histórico de modo a que este não fosse capaz de sair da title picture, e com direito... Esta persistência de Punk fez com que John Cena propusesse um combate que poderia muito bem mudar o Main Event da Wrestlemania deste ano. Voluntariamente John Cena pôs a sua oportunidade pelo título em jogo no Raw contra CM Punk. Já que Desde aí, Cena tem feito tweets diariamente a contar o número de dias que faltam para enfrentar Punk. Assumindo que CM Punk é o vencedor, e a menos que algum dos managers do show, Vickie ou Brad Maddox, decidam agir, Cena vai ficar sem combate a pouco mais de um mês até ao maior dos espectáculos da empresa durante todo o ano. Ele terá de se recompor e rapidamente. Felizmente há um homem, uma lenda, que ainda falta aparecer e declarar qual será o seu adversário para a Wrestlemania: o Undertaker.</div>

151. Depois da vitória do ano passado frente a Triple H, o Undertaker saiu de Miami com um impressionante resultado de 20-0. Um recorde na Wrestlemania! E apenas apareceu mais um a vez na WWE, no Raw 1000, até ao fim do ano de 2012. Muitas fontes de informação de wrestling informavam que o Dead Man não estaria nas melhores condições físicas para continuar a sua carreira; outras diziam que tinha sido submetido a cirurgias, etc. Os fãs questionavam-se se apareceria ou não na Wrestlemania 29. Enquanto o Triple H anunciou nos Slammy Awards de 2012 que ainda não teríamos visto o último suspiro de Undertaker, ele não falou em nada acerca de quando ou onde iria o Undertaker voltar. Durante meses a fio tem havido imensa discussão entre os fãs da WWE acerca de que poderia ser CM Punk o adversário escolhido por Undertaker para este ano. CM Punk é neste momento visto como um dos maiores heels da companhia e já que Taker é visto como o respeitável veterano da WWE, este combate seria um blockbuster e forte candidato a combate do ano. Depois da questionável decisão de Cena adicionar a estipulação que já vos falei anteriormente ao combate que iria ter com Punk em Dallas, a possibilidade de Punk enfrentar The Rock na 'Mania cada vez é mais provável. Cena iria sempre gerar alguns "boos" fosse contra quem fosse, mas ir contra Undertaker no seu próprio recreio? Um recreio onde ele tem mantido um recorde sem derrotas ao longo de 20 anos? Obviamente o Cena iria ser vaiado assim que descesse a rampa. 163. A construção de um Cena contra Undertaker na 'Mania seria fenomenal de se assistir. Mesmo que sabendo que Undertaker é invicto no "grandest stage of them all" o objectivo dos seus adversários é convencer o WWE universe de que será ele o primeiro a quebrar a famosa série de vitórias. Edge foi exímio nesse papel, assim como o foi Triple H. Dado o percurso de Cena acredito que ele ainda seria mais fiável que qualquer um dos anteriormente referidos. A sua tendência para ganhar combates que tecnicamente estão à partida perdidos tem levado a que alguns fãs o considerem o "Super Cena". Este, ganhou a grande maioria dos seus mais importantes combates ao longo da carreira que tem; sabendo disto os fãs começariam a ficar preocupados sobre se seria ou não Cena capaz de riscar a maravilha streak do Dead Man. Se o fizessem para que Undertaker ganhasse inevitavelmente o combate, teríamos um trabalho espectacular de microfone com muitos jogos mentais à mistura e isto faria com que todo o WWE Universe nutrisse uma certa preocupação para com Undertaker. Estes dois são tão brilhantes que até uma pessoa vulgar, que não um fã de wrestling, sabe quem são. Se Undertaker vs Cena estivesse no card, eram mais que receitas garantidas.</div>

167. Outro motivo pelo qual este combate deveria tomar lugar é porque a reacção à possibilidade de Cena vs Rock II está mais que vista que não é assim tão boa. O ano passado disseram-nos que era "once in a lifetime", e era assim que a coisa se deveria manter ainda mais que a rivalidade entre os dois foi promovida durante um ano inteiro. Como se não bastasse, esse combate foi mais que engolido pelo "Taker vs Triple H" e pelo "Punk vs Jericho", que é outra razão pelo qual ninguém está com muita vontade de revisitar esta rivalidade. Cena nem sequer tem estado na mira de The Rock ultimamente, já que o Great One tem estado de atenções totalmente voltadas para CM Punk. E ainda para mais Cena e Taker já rivalizaram antes, ainda que de forma muito diferente daquilo que poderíamos ver agora. John Cena era outro personagem. Era mais novo, era um heel, fazia promos em cemitérios para mostrar que não tinha qualquer medo do Dead Man. O Cena de hoje em dia podia, quem sabe, utilizar alguns momentos gravados de Undertaker a felicitar o novato Cena depois de um dos seus primeiros combates.</div>

175. Com Undertaker muito próximo dos 50 e a um par de anos da sua reforma, esta é a altura ideal para marcarmos este combate, dada a sua magnitude. Cena nunca defrontou Undertaker num combate desta importância, e após 4 anos em que pudemos ver Undertaker vencer homens que já tinha vencido anteriormente este combate poderia ser como uma lufada de ar fresco. Ainda que Ryback tenha sido anunciado também como candidato a combater Undertaker não acho que fosse algo muito interessante de se ver, pelo menos para já, e no ponto em que está a carreira de Ryback. Cena e Taker têm história. O Dead Man nunca sequer cruzou caminhos com Ryback. Com numerosos fãs a reportarem que viram Undertaker num show no fim de semana, é possível que ouçamos os sinos amanhã à noite no Raw. Taker pode muito bem interferir no combate de Cena contra Punk e assistir o straight edge supertar de modo a que este saia vitorioso de Dallas. Isto não cairia bem em Cena, que posteriormente aproveitaria para desafiar Undertaker para a Wrestlemania. E, se o fizer, então o WWE Universe estará perante algo de espectacular!</div>

203. Antes de mais, quero dizer que desta vez irei fugir do principal assunto da semana que por sua vez envolve John Cena, The Rock e CM Punk misturando a isto tudo o WWE Championship. Sim, isto está uma verdadeira embrulhada, mas sobre esse tema irei pronunciar-me, com o avançar da Road to Wrestlmemania. Até porque o ultimo Raw não foi muito esclarecedor, aliais quem queria que as duvidas se desaparecessem, pois bem, com os acontecimentos decorrentes da mesma Raw, esses pontos de interrogação ainda conseguiram aumentar, por incrível que pareça. Mas só para alguns (…) Adiante.<br />

205. Por falar em dúvidas, vamos ao que de facto interessa. Hoje irei debruçar-me sobre algo que me chamou a atenção nesta ultima semana. Sim, estou a falar dos The Shield. Não que eles ainda não me tivessem captado a atenção, mas sim pelos acontecimentos em que estes estiveram envolvidos nestes últimos dias.

208. Voltando um pouco atrás, na última crónica, expliquei que no meu ponto de vista CM Punk, tivera entretido durante um vasto leque de meses, até que chegasse finalmente a Royal Rumble. E um desses “brinquedos” de Punk, foi Ryback. Pois bem, toda a gente sabia, que nunca iria acontecer um Rock vs Ryback numa RR, e muito menos sendo pelo título principal da companhia. Sendo assim esta história entre Ryback e CM Punk, era bastante propícia a influências externas.<br />

210. E de facto foi isso que aconteceu, ainda para mais, sabendo que a WWE gosta de experimentar algo diferente naquela época do ano. Além de Punk não poder sair descredibilizado da história, era tão ou mais importante Ryback, não sair prejudicado da mesma, sendo que este ponto não é passível com vitórias limpas de uma forma sucessível por parte do Heel da história contra uma Superstar que estava a ser alvo de um grande push (discutível este ponto).<br />

212. Assim e no primeiro combate entre ambos e onde John Cena, também se encontrava metido ao barulho, a WWE decide nos presenciar com a estreia de um novo grupo, formado por três homens que provinham do seu território de desenvolvimento. Exatamente, Rollins, Reigns e Ambrose.<br />

214. Confesso que aguardava com ansiedade, a subida de Ambrose e Rollins ao plantel principal á já algum tempo. Pois no meu ponto de vista, são dois dos wrestlers, com maior futuro dentro da WWE. As suas capacidades, dentro do ring, são fantásticos e apesar de Rollins, ser mais fraco que Ambrose ao microfone, este conseguiu superar as minhas expectativas. Já Ambrose é exatamente igual áquilo que víamos na FCW e no NXT, um conjunto completo com expressões faciais fantásticas, assim como as suas mic-skills. Por fim surge Roman Reigns. Confesso que este não se encontrava nas minhas cogitações, quando supunha quais os lutadores que podiam subir de plantel. Mas de facto Roman Reigns, tem surpreendido bastante. Apresenta-se como sendo o power-house do grupo e por consequência disso, bastante agressivo, dando aquele toque mágico que todas as stables querem ter. A capacidade de criar medo nas suas “presas”.<br />

219. Estes três estreavam assim a The Shield, onde procuravam combater injustiças que ocorriam dentro da WWE, uma estreia como de facto estes lutadores mereciam. Era necessário que Ambrose e Rollins, principalmente estes dois, tivessem mais que uma simples estreia. Era necessário marcar de alguma forma a própria WWE. Pois o trabalho desenvolvido por estes na FCW e NXT, davam total crédito a esta ideia.

222. Um grupo que ajudou CM Punk, em quase todos os combates que fez com Ryback. Mas se para Punk, interessava que este não saísse com a sua imagem de top heel descredibilizada, para the Shiled era mais importante, construir a partir destes combates entre CM Punk vs Ryback, uma rivalidade futura com este último. Algo que de facto, tem vindo a acontecer.<br />

224. Devido a uma lesão de CM Punk em meados de Dezembro, este não pode combater contra Ryback para defender o seu título no PPV TLC. Posto isto a WWE marca um combate TLC de equipas. Eis que Ryback se junta a Kane e Daniel Bryan, que entretanto tinham entrado para a lista de vítimas dos The Shield, para tentarem derrubar os RRA (Reigns, Rollins, Ambrose).<br />

226. Na minha modesta opinião, este foi um dos três melhores combates do ano de 2012 na WWE. E aqui a força dos The Shield começa a ganhar forma. Foi um combate fantástico em todos os momentos e todos os membros envolvidos no mesmo, desempenharam o seu papel de uma forma exemplar. Em todos os momentos do combate, a história contada pelos intervenientes foi perfeita. Todos os golpes tinham de facto uma razão de ser.<br />

228. Foi um combate entusiasmante e o perigo podia aparecer de qualquer lado a qualquer momento. Não havia tempos mortos, algo que nesta altura é difícil de não se ver na WWE. No final, Roman Reigns consegue fazer o pin sobre Daniel Bryan e assim levar a vitória para os The Shield.<br />

230. Mais que uma simples vitória esta foi um ponto de exclamação por parte dos The Shield. Todos nós valorizamos muito mais o grupo a partir daqui. Entretanto eles continuavam, semana sim, semana sim, a atacar pessoas na procura de justiça. Isto apenas era uma forma de encobrir o seu trabalho para Heyman e Punk, uma vez que no final eles queriam salvar o Punk das ameaças ao seu titulo. E disfarçavam esse trabalho obscuro, com ataques a outras superstars, que em nada estavam envolvidas com Punk.<br />

232. No fundo eles passaram uma imagem de que trabalhavam apenas por si, á procura de uma empresa mais justa. Porém nos últimos tempos foram-se demarcando de CM Punk e virando atenção para outras estrelas. Nomeadamente a continuação da história com Ryback, mas desta vez envolvendo duas das principais caras da companhia atualmente. John Cena e Sheamus. Que culminaria com um combate de equipas na Elimination Chamber.<br />

234. Penso que a história entre estes 6 foi até bem construída, e deixou-me com alguma vontade de assistir ao combate em si. Porém com os nomes dos intervenientes, era óbvio que a equipa formada por Cena, Ryback e Sheamus, poderia sair vencedora. Poderia, sim porque não saiu. Mas se analisarmos bem não seria assim tão óbvio. Passo a explicar.<br />

239. Se a WWE junta 3 pessoas e forma um novo grupo, acham que fazia sentido esse grupo perder o seu segundo combate dentro da companhia? A derrota seria justa, depois da prestação que tiveram no TLC e na história de proteção a Punk? É certo que a WWE muitas vezes não liga a nada disto, mas desta vez se acontecesse algo do género, o erro aqui era gritante. E nada melhor do que alguém impor ainda mias a sua presença, do que derrotar três das maiores forças actuais da empresa.<br />

241. O objetivo era claro, John Cena não podia sair descredibilizado, e aqui penso que a WWE errou da maneira como fez. Aquele ar de espanto do Cena no final do combate não me convenceu minimamente. Outro ponto que me surpreendeu, foi que Shemauns não sofreu o pin final, pois estava convencido, que os The Shield a vencerem, seria sobre Sheamus. Mais uma vez enganei-me e foi Ryback a entrar neste papel. Não estava á espera, mas de facto já era hora do mesmo ter uma derrota limpa, se assim se pode dizer. Onde a maneira em que deixou o ring, deixou muitas questões no ar, mas não vou-me antecipar e vou esperar pacientemente, no que isto pode dar no futuro.<br />

243. No que toca ao combate em si, foi puro domínio no que toca aos The Shield sobre a equipa dos três Top Faces da companhia. Foi um combate tremendo por parte destes novos rapazes, que deram uma lição de como se funciona em equipa. E mais uma vez o destaque vai para Roman Reigns. Desta vez, não por ter executado o pin, mas sim, por ter destruído por completo Sheamus, atirando-o pelas barreiras de segurança. Algo brutal. Este combate foi muito bem delineado. Primeiro porque os The Shield, tinham muito mais tempo de tag team do que os seus oponentes, e era obvio que deveriam de ter vantagem neste ponto, no controlo do combate. E segundo, não devemos esquecer quem foi derrotado, pois conseguiram vender bem a sua derrota.<br />

245. Aliás este não foi o combate principal da noite, mas foi sem dúvida o combate de que eu mais me lembrei ao longo da semana e isto ainda tem maior relevância, de quando falamos de um PPV em que o combate principal, foi um CM Punk vs The Rock pelo titulo da WWE.<br />

247. Seguindo isto tivemos o Monday night Raw, e aqui, vou ter que ser sincero, nunca esperei que a WWE colocasse os The Shield em outro combate de tag. Arrumado John Cena da história, junta-se a Chris Jericho a Ryback e Sheamus.<br />

252. Devo confessar que tive medo que a WWE se tivesse arrependido de ter dado a vitória aos The Shield na noite anterior, e temi que desta vez, eles viessem a perder. Ao fim ao cabo, dois dos seus opositores tinham sido derrotados na noite anterior, e eram duas das principais caras da companhia. O que nos fazia prever que eles iriam perder novamente? E digo que, no meio disto tudo, fiquei contente com a inclusão de Chris Jericho ao combate.<br />

254. Mais uma vez, as minhas previsões estavam erradas, e os novos rapazes no plantel principal, conseguem derrotar este trio, onde desta feita foi Jericho a sofrer o pin. Algo que não me surpreendeu, aliás, Jericho desde que voltou ainda não teve um vitória assinalável (talvez aquela sobre Daniel Bryan, o fosse, se se tivesse realizado num outro contexto).<br />

256. Devo confessar mais uma vez o meu medo, antes de chegarmos á EC, quando os The Shield andavam um pouco perdidos com o atacar pessoas, só porque sim. Sem terem uma função de maior relevo na construção de histórias, o que me fazia pensar que o fim da stable podia acontecer de uma forma gradual, e bem mais rápido do que se podia esperar. Porém a WWE provou-me que eu estava mis uma vez errado e ainda bem que assim foi. Estes três indivíduos, merecem mais do que andar perdidos no card, só a atacar pessoas, porque sim e sem grande tipo de justificação. E digo perdidos em histórias em que os mesmos, não sejam um dos membros principais da história em causa.<br />

Contudo isto e com tanta informação a passar para o universo WWE, quer seja a mesma positiva ou negativa (caso Jack Swagger), e passado uma semana, eu e grande parte do nosso universo, ainda se lembra dos The Shield, como principal referencia ao que se passou entretanto. E é isso que se pede, é desta forma que se formam novos main eventers, é a brilhar no meio de um card, onde no dia a seguir estes consigam ser lembrados primeiramente em relação aos restantes intervenientes do evento, incluindo o combate principal.<br />

260. Eles não só conseguiram derrotar duas vezes seguidas grandes estrelas da companhia, como fizeram com que nós ganhássemos um novo estímulo por eles. Pois não tenho duvidas, que se estas ainda existissem na direção a WWE sobre os The Shield, elas foram completamente dissipadas, não só na Elimination chamber, como na raw do dia seguintes. Confesso que estou empolgado em ver em que história é que os The Shield vão ser inseridos na Wrestlemania. Onde esta será uma prova de fogo para os mesmos, mas tenho a certeza que a WWE os vai dar o destaque que eles merecem. Agora é uma questão de agarrarem a oportunidade.<br />
