West Hill House B&B—a premier Warren, Vermont inn—is a historic Vermont family farmhouse built in the 1850s. Extensively upgraded over the years, today it offers warm hospitality, good beds, great food and a relaxed, rural setting in the Green Mountains of Vermont. Owned by knowledgeable innkeepers, Peter and Susan focus on the needs, interests and wishes of each individual guest so that they may enjoy an authentic Vermont experience. The reviews are in: the B&B has once again been awarded the 5 star Certificate of Excellence by Trip Advisor in 2016 for the 6th consecutive year, building on our “Hall of Fame” award in 2015. Also West Hill House B&B has been voted one of the top B&Bs in New England several times in recent years by BedandBreakfast.com. The video comments are from Mordecai, visiting from Israel. The last part is in Hebrew. Meet Your Innkeepers We take pride in offering a personal concierge service to all our guests, helping you explore and enjoy restaurants and activities in the Mad River Valley and surrounding area. “This is among the more casual and relaxed inns in the valley, in part because of its quiet hillside location, and in part because of the easy camaraderie among guests. Set on a lightly traveled country road, the inn offers the quintessential New England experience, just a few minutes from the slopes at Sugarbush. Built in the 1850s, this home boasts three common rooms, including a bright, modern addition with a handsome fireplace for warmth in winter and an outdoor patio for summer lounging. The guest rooms are decorated in an updated country style, and all have gas fireplaces or gas woodstoves. Generous country breakfasts are served around a large dining-room table.” (from Frommer’s Reviews). Relax In Tranquility The gardens at the West Hill House B&B put on a three-season display. We were recognized as a Green Hotel by the Vermont Environmental & Regulatory Assistance Program in 2008. The B&B sits on nine peaceful acres—with mountain views, meadows, ponds, gardens and woods—a setting for relaxation and seclusion. Put your feet up on our front porch, the canopied back deck or the airy gazebo. Read a book or watch the “critter shows” as birds, chipmunks, deer, and an occasional moose entertain you. Winter visitors can ski just a mile away at Sugarbush and at Mad River Glen–which is just minutes away–or cross-country ski and snowshoe right out the front door. Summer guests can enjoy a wide range of outdoor activities, exploring and sightseeing. Give the gift of relaxation, check out our . Let Us Provide The Drinks West Hill House B&B is state licensed for the sale of alcohol. State law requires that all alcoholic drinks consumed on the premises must be purchased from the inn so please do not bring any alcohol with you.

It seemed a little contradictory for the Wayside to be serving homemade apple pie with store-bought ice cream. Our delicious apple pie has been enjoyed for generations by many loyal customers. How can we improve on such a popular dessert? We considered adding more fresh apples, another pinch of cinnamon, sprinkling more sugar on the flaky top crust. Then we realized that we better not mess with success (2 pounds of apples per pie is enough!). How about serving it a la mode with Wayside-Made ice cream! It made all the sense in the world. After months of research and development (and many tubs of delicious factory seconds) the Wayside settled on its Signature Vanilla recipe. From there other amazing flavors have followed: Moxie Chocolate Vermont Maple Blueberry Coca-Cola Cranberry Root Beer Orange Lemonade Mango Chocolate Stout Strawberry Coffee Pecan And more to come! Every day the Wayside has its Signature Vanilla and Chocolate on the dessert menu. In addition, there are two flavors featured daily made FRESH every week. Please be forewarned: Wayside-Made ice cream is NOT available for take-out. Customers are encouraged to eat their way through a home-cooked Wayside meal and top it off with a wonderful Wayside-Made ice cream dessert. You can however, come in and just have dessert! With Wayside-Made ice cream even the milk shakes and fountain floats taste better. Even the peanut butter ice cream pie has been taken up a notch. The sundaes crowned with salted caramel, chocolate, strawberry, Vermont maple syrup and hot fudge toppings are the best. If you’re feeling a bit nostalgic and want to reminisce about the Wayside’s longstanding history, try a Signature Vanilla champagne float! The bubbles, the cream…enough said.
