39.
A great way to engage with potential clients at trade shows is by gamifying your booth. The simplicity of offering a game in your booth space is it should do two things very quickly and effectively. 1. Break the ice / conversation starter 2. Collect the contact information of attendee Any good game idea must help draw show attendees and other show exhibitors into your booth for you to introduce yourself and your company to them. Whether you decide to use a tried-and-true game like the business card raffle or a counting game, or if you decide to go way outside of the box with a scavenger hunt or another creative brand-centered experience, games are great for driving foot traffic into your booth. Have a Strategy Now, there are a few things to keep in mind as you’re developing your game: 1. Pre-Show Promotion: never leave things to chance. Take the opportunity to contact your existing customers to let them know about your game and the award for winning. Relying squarely on the show promoter’s marketing is foolish. Get the word out through email marketing, pre-show postcards, social media, or invitations. 2. Less is More: While the concept of the game is draw people into your booth, unless your company sells mass-market products, you can be selective in who participates. Offer a prize or award that would entice your core customer persona into participating. Using your own products or services as the giveaway is an obvious option. 3. Don’t Become a Distraction: you can run the risk of the game being the only attention-grabber for your booth and thus missing the opportunity to engage with potential customers. 4. Brand It If You Can: make sure you nail this one. Any opportunity you have to brand the signage, the game pieces, or other supplies do so. You’re hoping to stick in their mind, so don’t rely on readily available objects branded with other company’s logos such as hardware store buckets, etc. Your booth space is meant to be immersive. 5. Collect Contact Information: every opportunity squandered to gain contact information from the game participant is missed opportunity. Obviously, the simplest thing is you need the contact information to reach them regarding who won the raffle, drawing, etc. Games are different than giveaways. Giveaways like pens and other swag have a place in your overall trade show strategy, but in the case of a game it’s an exchange of the potential of winning a larger prize in return for the person’s contact information. As you think about what game you’ll utilize, and how your staff will manage it in the space, keep in mind your attendance at the show is not solely to perform a booth game. Make sure that you staff the booth properly so your co-workers have time to oversee the game with ample time and space for their other booth duties. If the game becomes all-consuming than you need to change your tactics, adjust the game, or adapt on the fly as necessary. Entry into a game can be by invite only, for example. You can collect people’s contact information so they learn about your next one. 4 Effective Trade Show Games Now that you have the basic concept behind creating a game for in your trade show booth, what game best fits your company’s personality and will integrate well with your trade show display? Business Card Raffle Among the most common, easiest to implement, simplest to enter, low-tech trade show games of all time is the business card raffle. Perhaps it’s been done to death, but it is ubiquitous now everywhere from expos to restaurant counters. It provides, arguably, the easiest to enter game possible while gaining the contestant’s contact information in a flash. While implementation is simple, the real question becomes: what should your prize be? Some companies will go with an enticing award such as an iPad or a flatscreen TV. We would recommend steering clear of this type of award because 1) it does not qualify your lead and 2) it does not help brand your company. You will get entries that are not interested in what your company offers. Offering a free (or greatly reduced) product or free service that your company already offers is a great way to showcase what your business is about while also only collecting contact information from potential customers who find value in your offerings. Email Sign-up Raffle It’s the 21st century after all, so it’s time for the 21st century version of the business card raffle. Setup a touchpad kiosks to accept email subscriptions for the same style raffle as explained above. Try not to fall into the lazy trap of simply collecting email addresses without any followup. Email is perfect for automation so make your automation event-specific including mentioning your booth number. Most attendees will visit booths in the morning, break for lunch midday at which point they’ll check their email before finishing their rounds. If they find messages reminding them about the booth they visited earlier in the day, you may increase your chances of having them return with follow-up questions. Make sure you capture all of the relevant information during the sign-up process. Social Media Mention We’ve all seen the social media giveaways: follow our page, like this post, tag your friend, share the post, etc. While those giveaways have a thoughtful strategy in mind, they often don’t have the expected result. Because of the algorithm on social media platforms, shared content is not visible at the rate of original content. Encourage attendees to take a selfie in front of a branded backdrop or using relevant props, and then tweet or post their photo with a hashtag(s). An effective strategy would be to encourage them to use your hashtag as well as the event’s hashtag for maximum reach. Make sure to encourage them to share their contact information as well for followup. Obviously, you can reach them through their social media account to announce the winner. If you can get their broader contact information, you’ll be able to reach them about other business matters. Counting Game The concept is simple. People guess the number of items in a jar or bucket or tub, and the person who guesses the closest wins. For example, an art museum could fill a jar with paint brushes and have people guess how many there are in exchange for a chance to win a one year membership or registration in one of their evening adult art classes. Try to find something relevant to your business. Try to avoid using cliche and tired ideas like counting gumballs in a gumball machine. A bank could bring a jar of pennies to re-enforce the idea of saving.

 60.
I found it fascinating that the description Pantone gave alongside its announcement of the 2020 color of the year mentioned connection – a cornerstone of face-to-face marketing. It led me to thinking more about color and the important role it plays in exhibit design. It’s important to understanding color meanings and how they impact the emotions and behavior of your target audience.

 61.
Here’s a primer on colors and the meanings associated with each. How are you using these in your marketing efforts?

 62.
WARM COLORS

 63.
Warm colors, like red, orange and yellow are found next to each other on the color wheel. They invoke energy, happiness and warmth. Let’s take a look at each one.

 64.
RED is bold and passionate, can create urgency, and is energetic. Think of the bold red of a fireman’s truck or the ‘stop’ sign in traffic. Red is also said to stimulate appetite, which may be why several of our food and beverage clients feature red in their displays.

 65.
ORANGE creates a call to action, is enthusiastic, and can be playful and show movement. It also invokes satisfaction and happiness. It attracts attention without being as daring as red.

 66.
YELLOW is hopeful and optimistic, and is used to call attention. It is associated with laughter, friendship and sunshine. In all its shades, from bright to muted gold, a “pop” or yellow draws the eye when paired with a cooler color, like black or blue.

 67.
COOL COLORS

 68.
Cool colors like green, purple, and Pantone’s 2020 color classic blue are imaginative and can have a calming effect.

 69.
GREEN is associated with new beginnings, health and nature. It is also considered reflective of stability and wealth. It’s a very balanced color and has a soothing and relaxing influence.

 70.
BLUE, as reinforced by Pantone’s description is considered calming and invokes feelings of trust and confidence. It is also the most favored color, preferred by both genders and is the most popular color for logos worldwide. It’s a versatile choice since it is a perfect base color when paired with warmer tones of red, orange, and yellow, but also compliments neutrals and green. Here are a few examples of this tried and true color can be used to craft a color palette on a display that catches the eye and encourages connection:

 71.
PURPLE is wise and mysterious, and stands for creativity and luxury. It combines the passion and energy of red with the calm and serenity of blue. It’s not a color you see often on the trade show floor, so it can be an ideal color to use to draw attention:

 72.
NEUTRAL COLORS

 73.
Some would argue that blue should be included among the more common neutral colors of black, white, gray, and brown. Any of these are ideal as background or base colors to use in designing an exhibit.

 74.
BLACK connotes power and authority, as reflected in the Hardy image below.

 75.
WHITE typically indicates purity, cleanliness, and more recently minimalism. It works nicely as a backdrop for bolder colors as seen in the examples below:

 76.
BROWN connotes honesty, warmth, and wholesomeness. In exhibit design, you’ll see brown used as a natural element, often as woodwork. It combines well with white to reflect the farmhouse aesthetic that has seen spiked in popularity over the past few years.

 129.

130. Hawaii’s cannabis market looks poised to exceed expectations. With the state allowing for a range of products to be sold, solventless production in Hawaii is already alluring and looks like it will gain in stature.
131. Currently, a lack of licensed medical operations exists across the islands. We believe that by getting involved with a solventless, clean, healthy, easy-to-use, minimal environmental impact process like rosin, your business could position itself as a leader in Hawaii’s burgeoning market.
132. Here are a few reasons to consider.
133. Will Hawaiian Cannabis Laws Allow Adult Use?
134. Let’s start with Hawaii’s cannabis laws. Like several other states in 2019, so far, Hawaii failed to legalize adult use cannabis in March. The latest iteration of a legalization bill did progress further than others. Yet, it was ultimately shot down by lawmakers who did not consider it in time for a deadline.
135. The March news did dash some hopes for Hawaii’s law progression but did not end the expansion. Instead of an adult use law, state lawmakers approved of a decriminalization bill in early May. Under the bill, people in Hawaii found in possession of three grams or less would receive a $130 fine. The bill would also expunge criminal records for anyone prosecuted for three grams or less in Hawaii.
136. After passing both the House and Senate, the bill awaits the signature of Governor David Ige. So far, the Governor has shown some reluctance due to federal U.S. laws. “As I’ve talked to governors from other states who have gone to recreational [marijuana]. You know people assume that once it becomes recreational or decriminalized, that it’s legal, and it’s not legal by federal law. And I think that becomes the confusion, and that’s always been my concern.”
137. A Rising Medical Cannabis Market in Hawaii
138. While the debate continues over adult use laws, the state’s medical program has produced positive results in recent months. That includes seeing its patient roll grow 17% in 2018. As of February 2019, more than 20,000 patients over 18 years old were enrolled in the program. Adult patients enrolled mostly for severe pain followed by persistent muscle spasms and PTSD. Minors were mostly treated for seizures, PTSD and epilepsy.
139. Hawaii’s most-populated county is Honolulu and represents the most registered patients at just a few hundred patients short of 10,000. As of this winter, nearly 10,000 patients were registered in Honolulu County, home to the most-populated and highly frequented destination Oahu. Hawaii County was home to nearly 6,700 patients. Smaller yet sizable numbers were reported in Maui (5,297) and Kauai (>2,000) as well.
140. Reciprocity Offers Hawaiian Cannabis to Visitors
141. In-state patient numbers show that Hawaii’s medical market continues to move in a positive direction. While significant, the state’s decision to allow medical cannabis reciprocity could prove to be a boom for the market and its already successful tourism industry.
142. In March, lawmakers approved a measure which allows out-of-state patients to apply for a license to purchase medical cannabis in Hawaii. Patients can apply for up to two 60-day licenses each calendar year. Online approval is available as well to expedite the process. Applicants can also request a specific start date for the start of their license. A $49.50 application fee is required. Visit the state Department of Health for more information.
143. A Booming Tourist Market Getting Bigger
144. Hawaii’s tourism market is immense. A January 2019 press release from the Hawaii Tourism Authority found that visitors to the Hawaiian Islands spent $17.82 billion in 2018, up 6.8% from the year before. The industry supports 217,000 jobs across the islands while 9.9 million people visit the island each year.
145. Now add medical cannabis reciprocity to the equation. On its own, Hawaii is one of the premier tourism destinations in the world. Now, patients in need of flower or Hawaiian cannabis concentrates can now do so. These two factors are sure to combine and generate even more revenue for the state’s tourism industry. The impact of rosin in Hawaii could be immense as patients get the medicine they require while the island’s revenue stream grows as well.
146. Most CBD Sales Remain Prohibited
147. Despite adult use bills not advancing once again, Hawaii offers a largely positive outlook for cannabis regulations and the state’s market. That said, another form of cannabis remains stuck in a grey area.
148. CBD continues to puzzle many on the islands. So much so that the Hawaii Department of Health issued an early May statement reiterating that CBD has never been permitted for sales unless a prescription is provided. The DoH cited current U.S. Food and Drug Administration rules for its decision.
149. It’s Time to Go Solventless in Hawaii
150. We believe that the success of rosin in Hawaii is not too far away. With regulations continually shifting towards expanded access, Hawaiians and qualified visitors can participate in a medical market that show signs of growth. Patients are able to apply ahead of time and, when they arrive, purchase an array of treatment products.
151. Factors like reciprocity, a growing patient list and an assortment of products give Hawaii the chance to serve scores of patients in need. At the same time, businesses can grow and so can this needed market. Residual effects like additional support to the tourism industry only make this prospect that much more alluring for Hawaii.
152. While we can’t guarantee adult use is sure to come, the signs indicate that Hawaii is a booming market. Contact us today to learn more about how to get your licensed medical business going.

 170. Adult use cannabis laws took effect in Illinois on January 1, 2020. In the first few weeks of sales, the state has seen a rush of customers, leading to a surge in medical cannabis applications amid fears of shortages and a desire for lower sales taxes. While that may seem like a downer note, a shortage is common early on and often serves as a point in the state’s early market developments. Usually, states rebound and recover on their way to establishing a thriving market.
171. Many expect this to be the case in Illinois, where many predict that the state will couple with Michigan to help establish the Midwest as sales leaders in the American cannabis market. Applications for specific licenses have been well underway. And it is expected that extraction and processing licenses could be handed out in July of this year.
172. Whether entering into the extraction space or elsewhere, entrepreneurs need to take warning of the fierce competition expected. With a likely booming market on the horizon, several experts forecast “stiff competition.” Chicago and its surrounding area, as expected, will be site to much of the competition, with 63% of retail cannabis licenses going to the region in 2020. Dispensaries across the state will have to fight for customers, with the state averaging 1.5 licensed sales locations for every 100,000 citizens.
173. Despite the rather slim ratio, demand should eventually satisfy much of the market. Consulting firm Freedman and Koski estimate yearly demand to reach 350,000 to 550,000 pounds of dried cannabis. That said, the firm warns that the market could be slow to grow at first, noting trends that other states followed. These trends include the illicit market continuing to thrive for some time until legal market prices decline to competitive levels.
174. Those that can weather the rounds of storms and position themselves correctly could find their venture with a significant market share of the estimated $2.5 billion dollar a year market awaiting Illinois.
175. Illinois appears poised to be a destination for competition and success for those that come out on top. We believe that rosin and other solventless products will be vital in offering businesses a superior ROI at a fraction of the startup costs compared to a solvent-based venture.
176. In this article, we’ll delve into how Illinois got here, possible setbacks to expect and just why your business should include solventless cannabis products in its portfolio of products.
177. The Development of Illinois’s Cannabis Market
178. Illinois, technically, was one of the earliest adopters of cannabis legalization after the drug prohibition took effect in the 1930s. In 1978, the state passed the Cannabis Control Act, which allowed medical cannabis use. Keep in mind the word “technically.” In reality, two key hurdles made it so the state Department of Human Services did not have to require doctors to give medical cannabis recommendations. Nor did is allow the program to act outside of the state police’s written laws. Meaning, the law was mainly passed in spirit.
179. While the CCA of 1978 laid dormant all these years, Illinois did join the more recent medical marijuana wave, enacting legislation in 2013. The state followed up by passing decriminalization laws two years later in 2016.
180. On May 31, 2019, the state took its next step forward when the General Assembly legalized adult use laws with the passage of the Cannabis Regulation and Tax Act. The bill would become law in August when Governor J.B. Pritzker signed off on the expansion. Now in its infancy, the Illinois cannabis market appears to be falling in line with the path of its predecessors. If it continues to follow such a way, the demand for rosin and other solventless concentrates in Illinois should represent the likely lucrative opportunities for ventures ready to stake their claim.
181. Opportunities Expected in the Illinois Cannabis Market
182. While the headline is accurate, the opportunities in Illinois could be limited to a choice few. In addition to limited availability, the state appeared to show no interest in making the application process easy on prospective owners.
183. Some state policy experts on the matter described the application process as a rather trying process. Applicants should expect to be asked for a variety of documents when submitting for a license. Such materials include business plans and a list of owners and operators as well as their expertise. Additional information pertaining to record-keeping and employee training is also expected to be submitted with an application.
184. When submitting, businesses can apply for one of four types of cannabis operations:
185. 1. Dispensary
186. 2. Cultivator (Craft and Grow Ops)
187. 3. Processor
188. 4. Transporter
189. The state opened its application window for processors, transporters and craft growing, which it will begin reviewing on February 14. Illinois plans to begin processing these licenses on March 15, 2020. It is expected that new dispensary licenses will go out first, starting in May, while craft grower, processor and transporter licenses will go out in July.
190. The rollout of the licenses may not be such a cause for celebration. Illinois opted to follow a path many states have and cap the number of licenses issued to the nascent market. In the dispensary space, 55 licenses have been issued by the state, with another 75 coming via the May issuing mentioned above. An additional 110 will go out on New Year’s Day 2021, totaling 300 dispensary licenses in the state. Another 200 could come by January 2022. Meanwhile, craft growers are expected to be issued 100 permits.
191. Other parameters the state enacted include social equity measures, which aim to address some of the adverse effects brought on by the drug war. It has been reported that the state Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity intends to work with local banks to enact loan programs. These programs plan to provide business mentoring along with the capital to get started.
192. So, while opportunities may be slim, the competitive nature of the market indicates lucrative gains for those looking to stake their claim in the Illinois cannabis market. The state appears committed to providing access to those most affected while allowing all other applicants to be part of the four license types being offered in the coming months.
193. With supposed fair access, those that feel as if they qualify should either have their applications in already or get started on it fast. The time invested could prove to produce earned results well beyond your sweat equity.
194. Analyzing the Market to Date
195. Heading into the legalization of adult use, Freedman and Koski’s report stated that understanding the prospective market would be challenging, despite many forecasting substantial gains for the state. The report stated:
196. “Changes in markets (prices, supply, quality, accessibility, etc.) can have dramatic effects on consumer behavior. Under the current proposal in Illinois, not only would consumers have the choice between using or not using cannabis, but cannabis users have alternatives: purchasing from a legal, commercial market; home growing cannabis; or continuing to buy from the criminal market. Those choices are influenced by consumer preference ex ante as well as the dynamics of the market as it matures.”
197. In addition to the uncertainty of the market, staggering tax rates were quickly pinpointed as significant pain points for businesses and consumers. In some cases, buyers were paying up to an additional 40% on products thanks to the state’s second-highest cannabis tax burden in the legal U.S. market.
198. Yet, despite the sticker shock turning many to the illicit market, the state proved to rollout a relatively successful debut for the adult use marketplace. Long waits on opening day resulted in exceptional Day One sales, nearly totaling $3.2 million.
199. The demand became so high that several stores across the state reported running out of product in the first few days of opening their doors. “We knew we were going to run out. It was a matter of when, not if,” said Neal McQueeney, principal officer of Midway Dispensary, to Marijuana Business Daily in the early days of the market’s opening.
200. By the end of the first week, Illinois saw $11 million in legal cannabis product sales generated. With such opportunity afoot, those fortunate enough to get licenses could likely end up on the receiving end of a windfall gain.
201. High Time to Consider Entering the Illinois Solventless Market
202. With processing licenses underway, hopeful applicants need to get their paperwork in line and submitted as soon as they can. Those granted a permit are recommended to explore the possibility of offering rosins and other solventless-derived products in Illinois.
203. Consider us a bit biased, but solventless is the best concentrated product in today’s market, and now one of its top sellers, too. With a slew of brands and producers looking to stand out, the versatility of a truly chemically-free produced source material is sure to kickstart creative ideation in your team.
204. Being 100% solvent-free and versatile is all well and good. Still, it’s not a sustainable investment unless the numbers back it up. Fortunately for your business and rosin, there is back up.
205. According to a 2019 top trends in cannabis report from Arcview Market Research and BDS Analytics, concentrates and edibles continue to see their shares in the market grow with each passing year. In 2017, the two verticals combined to account for $1 billion of the market. In 2019, they reached $2.2 billion. By 2022, the report expects that number to nearly double again, reaching $4.1 billion.
206. The report went on to show that sales appear prosperous in both the medical and recreational sides of the market. Adult use should drive U.S. and Canadian growth, according to the report”s conservative model projections. Processors would be wise not to overlook the booming CBD market either. As of 2018, concentrates held the second largest market share, only behind ingestibles, with 28% of the market.
207. That said, those that do receive processor licenses in Illinois should keep an eye out of developing trends in more mature markets. This includes Colorado, where concentrate prices declined 2% over the past three years.
208. In Recap
209. Illinois is a state that appears to be on track with many other states launching its adult use market. Soaring sales proved promising, while high tax rates and barriers to licensing could prove detrimental to consumers and producers alike. That said, these barriers were factored into forecasts presented by firms and experts in recent memory. If true, then Illinois appears to be in line to weather the storm and prove itself to be a leading state in the Midwest and beyond.
210. Looking at sales for concentrates and edibles indicates that demand for solventless products should exist in Illinois. Solventless products have played an integral part in advancing the growing market share taken up by concentrates each year. While solvent-based products must be factored in, it is safe to assume that solventless products account for a significant percentage.
211. As such, we believe that rosin in Illinois will be huge, just as it is in Colorado and elsewhere. Connoisseurs are looking for a premium product, and rosin provides just that. Best of all, it can be the source material for just about any product your company would like to make, from concentrates to edibles to vape cartridges. By providing rosin-based products, your brand is likely to establish itself as a premium brand made of top quality concentrated oil.

Whether it be retail, medical, agriculture, finance, or events, much of the cannabis and hemp industry has been adversely affected. In the face of uncertainty, many CBD businesses were forced to close their doors, hemp farmers halted production, and countless cannabis stocks dropped precipitously as the world tumbled into a period of economic hardship. For a moment, a massively expanding industry teeming with unmitigated growth stood still, leaving its inhabitants to ponder with great anxiety about what the future might hold for CBD, something that had held so much promise up until that very point.
231. But yet, a glimmer of hope persisted, as the collective spirit of those who are a part of this great industry shone through. There is an undeniable phenomenon that sets this community apart from most others built around a product or good- they have a true passion for CBD and its countless benefits, and have consistently put the plant above profit. It is only natural that this industry persevere, as it is borne of genuine passion rather than lust for capital gain. The purpose of this article is to guide CBD business owners through the process of reopening, and to ensure that we have industry-wide coordination, and standard operating procedures when it comes to doing business during COVID-19.
232. What Does a CBD Business Look Like During Coronavirus?
233. Well, it would depend on what sector of the CBD industry you are in, of course, but lucky for us, the CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) has created universal health standards that can be applied in any work environment. Designed to keep those who could potentially be sick with COVID-19 apart, if followed, these guidelines will not only keep workers safe, but will allow your business to run smoothly without having to shut down again unnecessarily due to a preventable outbreak. For the purposes of this article, we will condense the lengthy CDC guidelines, so that it can be easily adhered to, providing maximum results with minimal effort.
234. Step 1: Wash Your Hands
235. You’ve probably heard this a million times before, but the importance of this simple, rudimentary act remains essential. What is more difficult is getting all of your employees to engage in the same behavior in a uniform fashion. This is why it would be beneficial to institute a company-wide sanitization policy, that requires employees to wash their hands, or use hand sanitizer every 30 minutes to an hour. Ideally, the concept would apply to common surfaces as well, which should be sanitized and disinfected thoroughly after each use. It is incredibly important to enforce these rules as strictly as possible, as it will not only help stop the spread of the virus, but will keep your business running smoothly and efficiently.
236. Step 2: Wear a Mask
237. Face coverings are undoubtedly the most important part in attempting to prevent the spread of COVID-19. The coronavirus spreads through water droplets that are expelled when breathing, talking, coughing or sneezing. Wearing a mask ensures that your germs are blocked by a protective shield, containing them so they are not dispersed into the environment. Having a mask mandate at your place of work will stop the spread at its source, and protect yourself and your employees from harmful health risks that could put your business in jeopardy. Additionally, make sure that masks being worn are up to standards outlined by the CDC (cloth face coverings work as well), and that both the nose and mouth are covered fully. This will ensure that the mask is fully utilized, and that no stray pathogens that could potentially contain COVID-19 find their way into the atmosphere.
238. Step 3: Keep Your Distance
239. The concept of social distancing, when combined with the previous two, provide three easy actions that can form a clear, comprehensive, and effective policy when addressing COVID-19 in the workplace. Social distancing, according to the CDC, is most effective when two people are at least six feet, or about two meters apart. It is important to ensure that workstations are at least this distance from each other, and that these guidelines are rigorously followed any time employees interact in the workplace. Doing so will severely reduce the chances of the coronavirus being transferred from one person to another, simply due to the fact that they are not physically close enough to anyone to contract it.
240. Step 4: Increase Cash Flow During COVID
241. It could also be incredibly beneficial to observe social distancing in its penultimate form, which is to keep as many employees as possible from being physically present in your place of work, allowing workers who are able to operate from home to do so. Decreasing the number of people in an enclosed environment, each of which could potentially be sick, will effectively reduce the risk of the virus infiltrating your business in the first place.
242. Additionally, lost revenue streams that traditionally require mass gatherings of people are now available online, with eCommerce giants such as Alibaba holding virtual CBD trade shows and events. When in-person business must be conducted, it is imperative that social distancing be observed, masks are worn, and that hands are sanitized after any interaction. If you have a marketing budget, it would be wise to allocate more of your spend towards digital advertising, as well as prioritizing online sales. Consumer behavior has changed dramatically in the age of coronavirus, with shoppers avoiding brick and mortar stores, opting to engage in virtual eCommerce instead.
243. Why This Will Help Your CBD Business Stay Open
244. Doing these four things in unison is the best way to reduce the risk of spreading the coronavirus, and will keep your business operating at maximum efficiency. Whether you work in an office, a factory, or on a farm, all sectors of the cannabis, hemp, and CBD industry can be effectively protected just by instituting these simple guidelines. Businesses that fail to employ these tactics will be forced to send their employees home, close their doors, staggering revenues and making it much harder to do business. The overarching concept that is crucial to understand is that if we do not control this virus in every way we can, it will continue to have a stranglehold on our industry, our business, and our economy as a whole.
245. Our industry is better together. If every CBD business owner follows and implements these simple guidelines, we can make sure that our industry as a whole is operating efficiently and effectively, with each facet and component functioning at full capacity. Only as one, can we stop the spread of COVID-19 in the CBD, cannabis and hemp industries, and get back to business as usual.

 264.
Because of the current health crisis, all our usual habits are being disrupted—most notably our social habits.
265. Gone are the days of stopping by your favorite coffee place before work, catching up with a friend over lunch, or bringing the kids to the park after dinner. We’re all having to get creative or even re-imagine the ways we usually connect now that we’re spending so much time cooped up.
266. For most of us, the routines of everyday life provide plenty of social engagement—even when we don’t necessarily want it! But now we must actively create that engagement. Technology certainly allows us all stay connected in more ways than one, but there are many other ways to connect with a little creativity. Here are just a few tips to stay connected during this period of social distancing.

 267.
VIDEO

 268.
FaceTime, Google Hangouts, Zoom, or Houseparty can all help us stay connected and engage with other people. If you have own a business, you could go live on Instagram or Facebook to keep your clients updated, provide them helpful tips when placing orders or just to let them know the overall wellbeing of the company.
269. Here’s a fun idea: Gather a group of friends and celebrate a birthday, go on a “double date” or just enjoy each others company during a cocktail hour.
270. Have the kids use Zoom to create a classroom atmosphere with some of their friends. While doing their work, they can see each other, so they feel together. In this way, they’re recreating the feeling of being at school working together with the classmates around them.

 271.
TEXT

 272.
Group texts can be great, because there’s a lot of conversation, humor, and information flowing with everybody chiming in. You can ignore it when you want, or jump in when you want—and when you do, there will probably be someone to respond to you. It’s just comforting to know that you’re part of a group and can always get someone’s attention.

 273.
CALL

 274.
Call a friend or neighbor, but don’t worry if you may not have much to report to each other. Right now, we like the saying “no news is good news”. Just the social connection of hearing a friendly voice can brighten anyone’s day even if there’s not much to say. It’s more helpful to have quick, frequent check-ins than less frequent, longer check-ins.
275. One thing we’re all missing is companionship—just the quiet presence of other people.

 276.
OFFER HELP

 277.
Although some people are familiar with today’s technology, most are eagerly adapting to the new tools that can be used to maintain engagement. While working from home, you might naturally feel the impulse to connect with others, so consider reaching out to offering support.
278. For instance, show your parents how to watch videos on YouTube or maybe just use FaceTime for the first time. It will be time well spent and maybe you’ll get a lot of laughs out of it too!
279. Cook up a meal or pick up a few things at the grocery store for an elderly neighbor. It can be any simple task that can make someone’s day.

 280.
STAY POSITIVE

 281.
Day after day it seems that the only news we’re seeing is bad news. Go out of your way to boost moods by sending funny meme’s, videos of your dog or a funny comedian. The Timehop app offers great flashbacks of what you posted on social media “on this day” 5 years or more ago.

 282.
GET CREATIVE

 283.
Mail postcards, letters or care packages to friends or family out of state. Have the kids paint a self portrait and send it to a friend or their grandparents. It doesn’t matter how old you are, it’s always fun to get something unexpected from a friend in the mail.

 284.
FINAL THOUGHTS

 285.
Every generation is trying to adapt to this time of disconnectedness, so we may need to adapt to each other’s preferences as part of our efforts to stay in touch. You might even find you’re spending so much time communicating on the phone or video chatting, it has actually been nice to be in so much contact even when we feel so far apart.

 305.

Kiosks provide greater product visibility, but that also means your merchandise is at a higher risk for theft. Follow these 2 tips to maximize sales and minimize shrinkage for the holiday season and beyond:

 306.
Simple Display

 307.
Your instinct might be to display products on every side of the kiosk, and have many shelf heights. If there is a side of the kiosk that you can’t see very well while you are working, try to put signage or marketing presentations in that area, instead of products.

 308.
Customers also mainly shop at eye level. Having products on shelves that are high up or lower to the ground will probably not help sales, and are more vulnerable to theft.

 309.
Simple, clean displays are not only more pleasing to the eye; they are harder targets for shoplifters. Crowded, cluttered shelves are easier to steal from unnoticed.

 310.
Watchful Eye

 311.
Installing visible cameras on your kiosk or cart will help deter shoplifters from targeting your business. You can invest in the real deal if you want, but fake cameras are much less expensive and can have a similar effect.

 312.
Try to have two people working the kiosk, especially at busier times of the day. If you’re distracted with a customer, that is the perfect opportunity for a thief to walk away unnoticed. If you are in an area with other seasonal or kiosk businesses, offer to help keep an eye on their business and ask them to do the same for yours.

 356.

If you have a bunch of valuable merchandise (such as jewelry, pottery, china, statutes, etc.) that you want to keep safe, while at the same time making sure that potential customers can get a good look at the merchandise, then you need to consider getting a tower display case.

 357.
You want to make sure people know that your stuff you are selling is valuable, putting valuable merchandise in these imposing cases really does showcase to people how valuable it is. People have come to associate tower cases with value since they are used in so many jewelry stores and fine china shops.

 358.

 359.
Feature with multiple layers. Most will have a minimum of at least 3 layers, but some can go higher, for example, many cases have 5 or 6 layers. The entire case is protected by glass windows . They can be used both in homes, to display and protect valuables, and in stores to display merchandise while keeping it safe from damage and thieves.
