4.
5. My photo, absolutely does not do these justice. They were so delicious. The recipe comes from a cookbook called Jerusalem, by Yotam Ottolenghi and Sami Tamimi, that my sister got as a gift for my parents. So far every recipe we have tried from there it has been amazing.
6.
7. The recipe called these burgers, but then described them later as meatballs. I was unsure what size to make them, so mine ended up being a bit bigger and therefore had to cook a bit longer. I think you can make them larger and eat them as burgers or smaller for meatballs I ate them as for dinner and leftovers wrapped in a pita for lunch the next day.
35. I have made stuffed pepper before, but never have I made any that tasted as flavorful and delicious as these! We had about a lot of peppers to use up at home, and coincidentally this recipe was featured in the food network magazine. It was in the "weekend" section of the magazine- which apparently means it takes hours to prepare!! Chopping a million ingredients and simmering something for an hour on the stove..before putting it in the oven. That is just not my style. So I switched things up, and the recipe still turned out great. My mom was a sous-chef and she helped with a lot of the prep work. We also had leftover rice which was convenient and speeded things up. The fresh herbs in this really make the dish, so don't settle for dried herbs. I had leftovers in my lunch today..yumm!!
64. I have been procrastinating putting this recipe up, because it is a bit long to write up. However it is really good, and doesn't take long to make.
65.
66. A few weeks ago, Kristin came over, having just moved back for the summer. We decided we would make dinner together and thought it would be fun to invite a few others. Laura came and made a delicious salad and Daniele brought dessert! Voila- Impromptu girls' dinner.
67.
68. Kristin and I set to work, checking out what ingredients I had and looking up recipes. It was the long weekend so all stored were closed. I think this was a good thing, as it got me started on my new trend of trying to use up the food I have on hand, instead of rushing out to buy groceries all the time. Kristin had heard me rant and rave about Power Foods and picked out this recipe for us to make.
