16. <span class="firstlet"> T</span>his baseball season has been a wacky one. We've had more cold, wet, and downright miserable game days than I can count. And through it all, the steadfast family and friends of the players sat huddled under blankets and umbrellas, clapping and cheering for every kid on the team. I cannot count myself among this incredible group of fans, I have only attended games when the weather was decent. Selfish? Probably. But considering all the games and practices I've attended over the years and my sincere hatred of being cold, I felt it was okay. Besides, I always tried to have a hearty home cooked meal ready and waiting when the games were over. That counts, right?<br>

These were the same recipe that I used to make the <a href="http://dozenflours.com/2008/04/daring-bakers-april-challenge.html">Daring Baker's April Challenge</a>, but I only made one-fifth of the recipe. I'm not sure how well they sold, but I think they came out pretty good.<br>

50. <span class="firstlet">T</span>his year Buckles (that's my co-worker's name) requested brownies for her birthday treat and said I could be as creative as I wanted. She just asked that whatever I came up with  didn't include nuts. I wanted to make her something really unique and unexpected. After a few days of thinking about it I had the idea for creating a Snickerdoodle Blondie. I wanted to combine the same texture of a brownie with the crunchy cinnamon shell of a Snickerdoodle. I couldn't find any on the web, so I invented one. This recipe came out exactly as I wanted! It's nothing short of bliss!<br>

Scott wanted veggies and low fat dip but anyone that knows Scott would know he really, really didn't want that. Scott is usually first in line for what ever I make so the thought of cutting up a few wet carrots and celery and mixing up an opaque bowl of low-fat dip just didn't sit well with me. Don't get me wrong, I respect Scott's wishes to eat low cal and low fat, but veggies? Blah! After all it's his birthday! So over the weekend I came across a Lemon Biscotti recipe in the 2007 March/April issue of Weight Watchers magazine and thought Scott would like it. Okay, so it's not completely without guilt, but it's 50 calories per serving, 1 gram of fat, and 1 grams of fiber. I'm still going to bring Scott a few baby carrots and dip, but at least he'll have these for dessert!<br><div class="recipe">
