Andrea will be joining Galen Charlton, Implementation and IT Manager at Equinox, who is currently serving as Treasurer of The Evergreen Project. Rogan Hamby, Data and Project Manager at Equinox, who has been serving as the chair of The Evergreen Project Outreach Committee, will be concluding his service as a board member at the end of the term. Other incoming board members recently announced include Katie Greenleaf Martin from the Pennsylvania Integrated Library System, who was re-elected; Susan Morrison from Georgia PINES; and Lindsay Stratton from the Westchester Library System.</p><p>“I am looking forward to returning to The Evergreen Project board,” said Andrea Buntz Neiman, Project Manager for Software Development at Equinox. “There are a lot of exciting things happening in the Evergreen community and I’m eager to work with my fellow board members to build a robust and sustainable future for the Evergreen Project.”</p><p>Buntz Neiman served a previous term on the The Evergreen Project board (formerly known as the Evergreen Oversight Board) from 2013 to 2016 while working at Kent County Public Library in Maryland. In 2016, she joined Equinox Open Library Initiative and has been a central part of the Evergreen development team at Equinox. She has served the Evergreen community since 2008 in a variety of capacities including as Conference Chair for the 2021 Conference; as a member of the Conference Committee, the Evergreen Outreach Committee, the Evergreen Cataloging Interest Group, and the Evergreen Documentation Interest Group; and as an Evergreen Documentation Committer. Buntz Neiman also served as release manager for the most recent version of Evergreen, version 3.12. She has presented at every Evergreen conference except for the 2010 conference.</p><p>The Evergreen Project board represents the interests of The Evergreen Project and provides the vision and strategic direction for the subcommittees which are a part of the project. It is elected by an annual vote by members of The Evergreen Project, determined by those who have directly contributed to The Evergreen Project in the past year. Equinox has worked with the LARL system since 2015. This project includes implementation of Aspen Discovery along with project management, training, and configuration. The integration is available to mutual customers.</p><p>This new partnership will be the first to provide integration with the WorldCat Metadata API through the <a href="https://www.oclc.org/en/partnerships.html">OCLC Partner Platform Program</a>, which allows partners to integrate OCLC cataloging, discovery, and resource sharing functionality through a variety of APIs. The program also allows library service providers to integrate with OCLC’s <a href="https://www.oclc.org/en/worldshare-management-services.html">WorldShare Management Services</a> and <a href="https://www.oclc.org/en/wise.html">OCLC Wise</a> library service platforms.</p><p>“We’re excited to partner with Equinox to offer this integration and added functionality for our mutual customers,” said Chip Nilges, OCLC Vice President, Business Development, Membership and Research. “This partnership promotes choice and flexibility in library services. We want to make it easy for libraries to use OCLC services through the platforms and service providers they choose.”</p><p>For its first service integration, Equinox plans to integrate the WorldCat Metadata API with the <a href="https://www.westchesterlibraries.org/">Westchester (New York) Library System</a>, an <a href="https://www.equinoxoli.org/products/evergreen/">Evergreen</a> ILS customer that will be conducting a pilot project using the NightShift program for cataloging. This integration will support Westchester’s cataloging efforts by allowing them to more efficiently identify high quality records from WorldCat. Equinox will also make metadata integration available to their customers using the <a href="https://www.equinoxoli.org/products/koha/">Koha</a> ILS.</p><p>“We are pleased to announce this partnership with OCLC which will provide new efficiencies for Evergreen ILS and Koha ILS libraries using OCLC services,” said Lisa Carlucci, Executive Director at Equinox. “Libraries benefit directly from collaborative innovation and the shared expertise of vendor partners.
