Argentina’s removal from the VWP was a resultof the country'sfinancial crisis, with concerns regarding mass people seeking emigration.</li></ul></div></div></div></div></section></div></section><section class="added-vwp"><div class="container"><section class="article-block"><div class="container"><div class="row"><div class="paragraph block-title-w text-center margin-top-large margin-bottom-large toc-list">COUNTRIES THAT COULD BE ADDED TO THE VWP</div><div class="paragraph">3 EU countries; Bulgaria, Cyprus, and Romania could all be added to the VWP if the USDepartment of Homeland Security decided that these ‘road map’ countries should beincluded asvisa-free.</div><div class="paragraph">The US Customs and Border Protection continually monitor the risks posed by thecountry’s citizensand as recently as 2018, Hungary was considered to be taken out of VWP due tothe high volume ofpassport fraud.</div><div class="paragraph">In addition to the 3 EU countries mentioned above as being possible additions to the VWP inthe near future, experts have also suggested that Argentina, Brazil, and Israel could beincluded in the VWP at some point soon.</div><div class="paragraph">The decisions around adding or removing countries from the VWP are complex and whilstofficialsfor the tourism sector are keen to include more countries to boost the US economy, that is notthe key concern. The prioritization of security is a big determiner in whethercountries are addedor removed and with the terrorist acts that have taken place in recent years, improving thesecurity of the US Customs and Border Protection is a key factor in VWP decision-making.</div><div class="paragraph">There are now talks about the VWP being rebranded to reflect that it is part ofthe USA securityframework, rather than just an easy way to get access to enter the USA.
