20.
A tough one at Ball Arena tonight.

Just a couple hours before tip-off, the Denver Nuggets officially found out they would be without back-to-back MVP Nikola Jokic, who was ruled out due to a calf injury. The Nuggets certainly missed their superstar big man as the New Orleans Pelicans came into Denver and dominated to the tune of 107-88 to end the Nuggets four game winning streak.

 21.
Denver struggled to score all night as they only scored 40 points in the first half and only sightly improved in the second half scoring 44 points. The Nuggets shot 40 percent from the field, but where they really struggled was from three as they shot just 4-of-28 from distance.

 22.
Jamal Murray was the only Nuggets player who made a three as he shot 4-of-10 from three. Everyone else on the Nuggets combined to shoot 0-of-18 from distance as Michael Porter Jr. struggled the most shooting 0-of-7 from three. Murray led the Nuggets in scoring with 21 points, while Bruce Brown (19), Aaron Gordon (11), Christian Braun (11), and Porter (10) also finished in double-figures.

 23.
Not only did the Nuggets struggle to score the ball, but they also struggled to defend at times as they let Brandon Ingram (31) and CJ McCollum (23) combine for 54 points. It was a tough night all around for the Nuggets, who now have to turn around not even 24 hours later for a big game tomorrow night in Phoenix against the Suns.

 24.
With the loss, the Nuggets are now just three games clear of the Memphis Grizzlies for first place in the Western Conference. With a tough game on deck tomorrow night in Phoenix and with the Grizzlies playing host to the Clippers tomorrow night, that three game lead could turn to two in a flash. Hopefully Jokic is able to return to the lineup tomorrow night and the Nuggets can get back into the win column.

 64.
The Denver Nuggets are looking to win their fifth straight game tonight.

The Denver Nuggets are back in action tonight as they host a New Orleans Pelicans team jockeying for playoff position with hopes of not only securing a spot in the postseason, but avoiding the play-in game entirely. New Orleans has been playing pretty solid basketball as of late and the same can be said for Denver as the Nuggets are looking to win their fifth straight game.

 65.
Denver is 2-1 against New Orleans so far this season and has won the last two matchups. The Nuggets have seven more games on their schedule — including tonight — and will head to Phoenix tomorrow night to face the Suns on the second night of a back-to-back. Securing a win tonight is important so the Nuggets can basically go into tomorrow night’s game with house money.

 66.
In the Nuggets last matchup against New Orleans, Nikola Jokic dropped a 26 point, 18 rebound, and 15 assist triple-double and another performance like that would be huge for his MVP chances. The final MVP straw poll dropped this morning on ESPN, which had Jokic just two points behind Joel Embiid for first place. As the MVP race intensifies with only a few weeks remaining in the NBA season, every game presents a massive opportunity for Jokic to cement himself as league MVP.

 97.
Kevin Durant returns for the Suns after Mavericks try to grab much-needed win against the 76ers.

 98. Dallas Mavericks vs Philadelphia 76ers
 99.

 100.
Wednesday, 3/29 at 5:30pm MST on ESPN in Philadelphia

 101.
The Philadelphia 76ers (49-26; 3rd in the East) have taken chances to rest their stars recently as they prepare for what is to come in the postseason. Yes, they sit just two losses behind the Boston Celtics and three losses ahead of the Cleveland Cavaliers, but with just seven games left, it is unlikely the 76ers would slide back to 4th in the East.

 102.
On the other hand, the Dallas Mavericks (37-39; 11th in the West) need every last win they can grab regardless of the methods utilized to do so. They have fallen out of the play-in tournament and only have six games left to recover in time to give themselves a shot at the playoffs. Dallas sits just two losses behind the 6th-seeded Golden State Warriors so there is plenty of movement left for the bottom of the Western Conference playoff picture.

 103.
Both James Harden and Embiid are entering the day listed as questionable two days after missing the 76ers matchup with the Denver Nuggets on Monday night. Embiid is said to be fighting right calf tightness which is what has him on the injury report. Harden has been struggling with soreness in his left achilles.

 104.
The Mavericks are mostly healthy. Maxi Kleber continues to fight with his right hamstring that has bothered him for the majority of this season. Kleber is questionable as of Wednesday morning as he works himself back from his right hamstring issues. Frank Ntilikina is also questionable with a right knee strain.

 105.
DraftKings Odds

 106.

 107.
The 76ers enter the day as favorites according to DraftKings Sportsbook and are favored by four points despite Embiid and Harden being questionable.

 108.
The total points set by DraftKings Sportsbook is 231.5 which seems low considering the Mavericks are not even sure what the term ‘defense’ means in an NBA setting.

 109.

 110.

 111. Minnesota Timberwolves vs Phoenix Suns
 112.

 113.
Wednesday, 3/29 at 8pm MST on ESPN in Phoenix

 114.
Despite the recent success of the Minnesota Timberwolves (39-37; 7th in the West), all of the focus will actually be on Kevin Durant’s likely return to the court for the Phoenix Suns (40-35; 4th in the West) after missing the last 10 games with a left ankle sprain.

 115.
All eyes will be on how the Suns play together and if they can quickly evolve into the best version of themselves with just seven games left to play in the regular season. That is an unbelievably tall task for the Suns to complete, but Durant seems like a perfect fit for thing group. Now, everyone will see how it looks in the second leg of ESPN’s double header.

 116.
Minnesota has quietly come alive at the ideal time. Four games ago, they sat sliding between falling out of the play-in tournament and out of the play-in tournament entirely. Now, after a four-game winning streak they sit tied in the loss column with the Golden State Warriors who currently occupy the sixth seed and a guaranteed bid to the playoffs.

 117.
The list of injuries is long for the Timberwolves. Matt Ryan is out with an illness. Taurean Prince is also fighting an illness and is listed as questionable. Jaylen Lowell is questionable with left knee tendinopathy. Both Anthony Edwards (right ankle sprain) and Karl-Anthony Towns (right calf strain) are listed as probable.

 118.
For the Suns, only Kevin Durant is on the injury report. He is questionable to play with his left ankle sprain he sustained in warmups quickly after being acquired by the Suns.

 119.
DraftKings Odds

 120.

 121.
The Suns, with Durant’s highly likely return, are favored by 5.5 points at home according to DraftKings Sportsbook.

 122.
The Timberwolves being +180 on the money line at DraftKings Sportsbook feels like great value.

 142.

 143.
 144.
A solid victory for the good guys!

Even though Joel Embiid and James Harden didn't play for the Philadelphia, the Denver Nuggets still came to play capturing a 116-111 victory over the 76ers. Denver has now won four straight games and five of their last six games and they’ve really started to find their rhythm following a tough stretch just a few weeks ago.

 145.
Even though we did not get the MVP showdown we were all hoping for, that did not stop Jokic from absolutely dominating the 76ers as he finished with a triple-double of 25 points, 17 rebounds, and 12 assists as Philadelphia had zero answers for the best player in the world. It also seemed like the fans at Ball Arena had a fun time this evening as these signs were spotted throughout the arena:

 151.

 152.
Embiid had a phenomenal chance to cement himself as the league MVP tonight, but instead Jokic was able to take full advantage of his absence. The back-to-back league MVP — who should win a third this year — did what he usually does, which is dominate the game from start to finish to help Denver pick up the win.

 153.
Jokic’s 25 points came on an extremely efficient 8-of-11 shooting from the field as the 76ers had no chance of slowing down the Nuggets superstar big man. Jamal Murray also had a solid night offensively as he scored 19 points on 8-of-14 shooting from the field, 3-of-6 from beyond the arc to go along with seven assists and five rebounds.

 154.
Michael Porter Jr. (15) and Aaron Gordon (12) also finished in double-figures along with Bruce Brown, who poured in 18 points off the bench in the win. It should also be pointed out how great Tyrese Maxey was for Philadelphia tonight as he scored a game-high 29 points and did everything he could to try and keep the 76ers in the game.

 155.
Denver now gets two days off before they are back in action Thursday night at home against the New Orleans Pelicans.

 192.

 193.
 194.
A message from Denver Stiffs founder Andrew Feinstein on the future of Stiffs.

Dear Fellow Stiffs,

 195.
I launched DenverStiffs.com in February of 2008 for the purpose of being the voice of the fan and giving our beloved Denver Nuggets some extra coverage in a sports media market that was largely focused on the Broncos and was soon going to become a one-newspaper town. As a lifelong season ticket holder, I took the position that as a “paying customer” (whether that be through purchasing tickets, merchandise, or simply watching the games), I had the right to advocate for a great product both on and off the court. And even though I launched the site for myself and a small group of lifelong fans like me to vent about the team’s fortunes (and, in those days, misfortunes), it was clear from the earliest days of the site’s existence that there were countless other fans like yourselves – from around the world – yearning for a space to share their hopes and opinions about our local professional basketball team.

 196.
But managing a sports blog or fan website (or whatever they’re called these days) is no small undertaking. Not only do you have to serve up content consistently on the state of the team or the NBA in general, but you must stay on top of game previews, threads and recaps and be mindful of all the comments and opinions that those posts generate. And to be as successful and engaging as possible, a good fan site is an ongoing conversation with its readers, not a one-way street between writer and reader.

 197.
So when I had the opportunity to license Denver Stiffs to SB Nation in trade for being able to add more contributors and having to only worry about writing and conversing with all of you, I jumped at it. Not only did SB Nation give Denver Stiffs the national platform that it needed, but it gave us the infrastructure to focus on the product itself and the ethos of the site: being a die-hard Denver Nuggets fan.

 198.
Sadly – and for reasons I will not extrapolate on – just recently SB Nation decided to cease supporting most of its NBA team fan sites and many others in its vast network of sports fan sites. And even though I haven’t written consistently for Denver Stiffs for nearly seven years (and thanks largely to an awesome crew of successive site managers and contributors I was able to quietly step away), as the person who founded this site and as someone who is immeasurably grateful to all of you who still follow it, I felt obligated to keep it alive. I just couldn’t sit idly by as the community that we have all created together was threatened with extinction and thus decided to steer Stiffs to a platform that values our incredible community.

 199.
And that platform, effective March 31st, is Mile High Sports.

 200.
Not only because Mile High Sports is locally owned and operated, but also because Mile High Sports CEO Nate Lundy and his team have welcomed us enthusiastically with open arms and the opportunity to grow our community even further once we get settled into our new home.

 201.
This is a homecoming of sorts for Denver Stiffs as there would be no Denver Stiffs without the support of those who now steward and share their many talents at Mile High Sports.

 202.
When Nate was serving as Program Director for 104.3 The Fan a decade ago, would routinely book me as a guest to appear on several of their radio programs.

 203.
Mile High Sports radio stars Sandy Clough, Eric Goodman and the late, great Les Shapiro – Sandy with The Fan at the time, Eric and Les with Mile High Sports – would feature me as a regular guest while mentoring and encouraging me “offline” to change the moniker of the site (which was originally launched under the regrettable name of FireGeorgeKarl.com and changed to DenverStiffs.com soon thereafter).

 204.
And former Mile High Sports Publisher and current Editor Doug Ottewill would occasionally have me contribute my Nuggets content to Mile High Sports Magazine.

 205.
Without the citywide platform given to me by Nate, Sandy, Eric, Les and Doug, Denver Stiffs may never have attracted SB Nation’s attention or reached the audience that it continues to reach today. And of course, by joining Mile High Sports, Denver Stiffs will be reunited with former Stiffs writers Jeff Morton and Ryan Blackburn, each of whom were integral in the growth and success of Denver Stiffs long before and since I stepped away from regular writing in 2016. In fact, hat tip goes to my brother and former Stiffs comments sparring partner Jeff for encouraging me to connect with Nate on this incredible opportunity to partner with Mile High Sports.

 206.
Now let’s talk about some logistics.

 207.
To the surprise of no one who has been following SB Nation’s decision to no longer support the majority of their individual team websites, Denver Stiffs was one of the sites targeted to be shut down effective March 31st.

 208.
Given that this transition is happening quickly and we won’t get the data export from SB Nation until the 31st, some things may appear a bit “broken” for a bit … so please bear with us while we scramble to stand up a new Stiffs at Mile High Sports.

 209.
None of your previous comments will be included in the data transfer, and you won’t be able to access them on or after March 31st. However, you can request an export of your comments from the My Profile tab of any comments section, but you must do that by March 30th (this seems to be an automated process, so it should work up until the switchover). We also won’t get any of your FanPosts or FanShots unfortunately.

 210.
But we will be enabling comments on the new Denver Stiffs site at Mile High Sports, so while the loss of historical comments and other content sucks, our Stiffs community isn’t going anywhere.

 211.
And please note that Denver Stiffs’ current site manager Brandon “Skip” Ewing and contributor Gage Bridgford will be coming aboard the new Denver Stiffs, as well. Our goal in the short term is to ensure that our community’s engagement with each other and the Nuggets continues through the postseason (hopefully a looong postseason!). And then soon into the offseason, we will strategize with the Mile High Sports team on how to deliver the best possible community engagement and content befitting the Denver Stiffs name heading into the 2023-24 NBA Season.

 212.
I want to thank you all in advance for your patience and understanding as we migrate Denver Stiffs over to Mile High Sports. If you have any questions or suggestions for how we can improve Denver Stiffs, please feel free to contact editor@milehighsports.com.

 213.
In the meantime, let’s hope our Nuggets make it to their first-ever NBA Finals so we can enjoy this journey together!

 214.
Much love to Stiffs Nation,

 215.
Andrew Feinstein

 233.

 234.
 235.
This one should be fun.

The Denver Nuggets are back in action tonight at Ball Arena as they welcome the Philadelphia 76ers to town in what could be an NBA Finals preview. Not only is this a big matchup between the two teams, but it could also be a really important game to decide the MVP race between Nikola Jokic and Joel Embiid.

 236.
Embiid got the best of Jokic and the Nuggets in the two teams earlier matchup this season back in January as the 76ers picked up a 126-119 victory over Denver. Philadelphia’s win came courtesy of a 47 point, 18 rebound performance from Embiid as the Nuggets will try and slow down the 76ers talented big man this time around.

 237.
Embiid is questionable to play due to right calf tightness, but I’d be surprised if he didn't suit up and try to cement his case for league MVP. I expect a ton of fireworks tonight between these two teams and hopefully Jokic can go to work and help the Nuggets get some revenge against the 76ers.

 238.
Denver is also seeking their fourth consecutive victory and their fifth victory in their last six games. After hitting a bit of a rough patch a few weeks ago, the Nuggets are playing much better basketball and are hopefully trending upward as we inch closer and closer to the postseason.

 239.
The Essentials

 240.
Who: Denver Nuggets (50-24, 31-6 home) vs. Philadelphia 76ers (49-25, 23-14 away)
