43.
44. Should I get the usual 1.8° 45 Ncm steppers? Or could I work with the smaller (and lighter) 13 Ncm steppers?
45. (I'm building a foldarap 4.0)
46. *edit: Then there are also some in between, with about 26 Ncm of torque. (Like [www.omc-stepperonline.com]) . 65. 1- Where are gone the 4 ball bearings 608zz?
66.
67. 2- I am not clear about the gravity calibration of the z axis. Pronterface or print software always search for the axis limit endstop.
68.
69. 3- I'm looking for a store to get me the ball springs. At the moment I have only found wholesale in Spain and they are very expensive. Anybody knows?
113.
Salut à tous,
114.
120.
121. Merci d'avance pour vos réponses! :)

 129.

 130.
On this topic I will try to evaluate if the transition from one small blower to two small fans is effectively better :)
131.
132. Until now I'm relying on a 30x30x10mm blower (this one)
133. Relevent specs :
134. *CFM 1,4 or 0.039m3 /min
135. *static pressure 0,285 dans H2O (71,0 Pa)
136. *dB 29
137. *speed 7 500 tr/min
138.
139. This very small blower was interesting for its compacity, but does not exist in 24V.
140. I think it could be better to use two 30x30x10mm fans instead, for a more even cooling (two sides instead of one), and to use more standard parts (makes repairs/replication of the project easier)
141. (e.g. this one).
142. Relevent specs :
143. *CFM 3,5 or 0,098 m³/min
144. *static pressure 0,100 dans H2O (24,9 Pa)
145. *dB 25
146. *speed 9 000 tr/min
147.
148. I learned around here (and the specs confirm it) that blowers are known to have a better static pressure, which is interesting for small or complex fan ducting (too many fan duct on thingiverse are not adequate for axial fans, the air flow bounce back).
149. But axial fans generally have much more volumetric output, which is better in term of cooling power, I guess.
150.
151. I tried to calculate if the input-output surface difference in my last fan duct design would be a problem (for the small fan), but as the duct is quite straight it seems that it should work.
152.
153. That will be easier to verify empirically (= a bridging test with the blower and one with the fans).
282.
Hi everyone,
283.
284. I keep having issue with my FoldaRap... as a matter of fact it's mounted since about a year now, maybe less, whatee, I'm still not able to print, and it's driving me nuts...
285. I'm not ready to print yet because I just damaged the Minitronics v1.1... and I'm short on cash I won't buy a new one now. But before getting a new one, I'd like to see how I can solve the problems I've got.
286.
287. So first, I had confess I didn't bought a traditional kit, but I purchased the separate elements separately following the buyers guide page. Terrible idea, I should get the kit from Openedge, but whatever, I succeed to mount the whole machine.
331.
332. In a nutshell, everything is working: X, Y or Z axis, and the extrusion! But when it's come to printing, there is something wrong as the machine can't print. Sometimes, a bit of plastic is coming through, but it's too thin to have a proper first layer, and I don't have enough adhesion.
333. I think the problems can come from the extruder part, the nozzle, the Z home axis.
334.
335. The printed part I've got are the one from 2.5 FoldARap. But the hot-end kit is different, it's the one for the Huxley RepRap. As you an see following the link, it's quite different, and it's not 100% compatible with the printed part I've got. You had to fit one of the barrel holding the bowden tube into a printed part when your're supposed to screw a pneumatic fitting for the FoldaRap. Well for the Huxley, I'm sure it's amazing, but it's not for the FoldaRap. The barrel is supposed to be screwed in the printed part whch hold the extruder motor. I try to put it as it is in it, but it's keep popping out at each extrusion. I tried to use the pneumatic fitting from OpenEdge, but my tube is 4mm of diameter when those one for 3mm.
336. After some tinkering with a new 3D printed part and a 4mm pneumatic fitting from RepRapWorld, it's seem to be ok.
400.
401. Also, after some researches, it occurs the bluetape might help for the adhesion and in the different posts with the FoldARap I saw here, I realised some of you are using it on top of the Kapton, so I'm considering getting some.
402.
403. How to calibrate the build-plate efficiently?
404. Can it come from the combo cold-end/bowden-tube/hot-end?
405. Is there an adhesion problem or does it come from the Kapton tape and I should add some blue tape of top of it?
520.
Hello everyone,
521.
522. I'm in the early stages of building a Foldarap. Bought my aluminum and laser cut some acrylic... I wanted to add a Raspberry Pi and an IP camera to my build so I could hopefully run the whole thing off of octoprint and do remote printing while not at home. My question would be, is there a CAD model for this build somewhere out there? I tried to import the STL files into Fusion 360 and convert them over to bodies, but it was very unsuccessful. I'd love a CAD model or even STEP files of all the printed parts so I could assemble something in Fusion. Thanks for your time!!!!!
523.
524. Also any tips or words of warning would be welcome as well (building a 3d printer is all new to me).

 533.
Hi all,
534.
535. I am preparing to build a FoldaRap for myself and while following the advice in the Buyers Guide of sourcing locally, got stuck with a few parts:
536.
537. - The M3x6 grubscrews listed, are these ISO 4029, ISO 4027 or ISO 4026? There seems to be a number of versions that mainly differ in size and angle of the tip.
538. - The NEMA14 motors - do I need the SOYO SY35ST36-1004A or can I use alternatives? If so, what specifications do I need to look for?
539. - Are all the laser cut parts made from 4mm aluminium? Are there any sources for only the laser cut parts? The listed sources seem to be out of stock.
540.
541. I will be printing mainly FlexPLA and NinjaFlex and will need an extruder that works really well with such flexible filaments. The extruder and hotend combination described in the bill of materials uses a bowden. Will this be an issue? I have currently access to an Ultimaker 2 with bowden extruder where hotend and feeder are on oposit ends of the bowden and that doesn't work well with flexible filament. I would need something where the feeder is directly on the hotend. Any recommendations?
542.
543. I am also looking for good sources for the mechanical and electric parts in Germany. Unfortunately RS Components only ships to commercial customers in Germany. Has somebody in Germany already built a FoldaRap 2.5 and would be willing to share where they got the parts from?
544.
545. Best regards,
546. Reiner

 555.
Here is now the latest stable version of our little FoldaRap :)
556.
557. Here are the main following improvements :
558. * replacing the extruder nema14 by a nema17, having 3-4x time more torque
559. * slightly simpler assembly (same feet on front and rear side, adding a rear plate for the plug/switch, etc.)
560. * implementing several contributions from the community, like the nut-holder to adjust the bed (Damien) or the gantry stop (thanks to Xoan)
561. * anticipation of the future 3.0 (for which the Y axis will also glide on the extrusions)
562. * testing the new version of our hotend (using a 4mm tubing like on the Mondrian, going through the pneumatic fitting and inside of the barrel, inspired by the E3DKraken)
563. * and most importantly… a completely remade documentation [reprap.org] !
564.
565. And a lot of little things that were added progressively but which now are the new stable version of the FoldaRap, all the files are on the usual : [github.com]
566.
567. (the kits we make are also moving to 2.5 [openedge.cc])

 576.
Bonjour à tous
577.
596.
597. Je suis à cours d'idée.... Please help :)

 611.
612.

Motor screw holes are 3.5mm depth, and RP part is 25mm, so M3x30 countersunk screw needs 5mm. 624.
630.
631. J'ai imprimé en 0,2mm et en 0,1mm d'hauteur de couche sur du PLA 1,75. T° d'extrusion: 170°C
632.
633. D'avance merciiii!
643.
I've machined multiple hot end heater blocks with varying success as far as leaks (between my PTFE tubing and brass heater block), but the most recent and most carefully done has just started leaking and I'm out of ideas as far as making a thread work. I've tried using stupid amounts of teflon tape around it too but it always ends up leaking after a certain amount of time. Even tried JB welding the tube in place with some success (still failed eventually) and other thread sealers such as Loctite but they dont seem to grip the teflon at all.
644.
645. My nozzle has never leaked once though, interestingly enough (brass on brass w/ teflon tape)
646.
647. considering trying to retrofit a professionally made plumbing connector as a solution but dont know whether that will help as far as the teflon tube goes.
658.
Bonjour à tous,
659.
660. J'ai deux petites questions :
661.
673.
674.
675. Merci d'avance pour vos réponses :)

 687.
688. On the FoldaRap 2.5 (.stl) plates, it looks that it uses the same "foot rear left" and "foot rear rigth" for the base frame and front base, instead the "foot front left" and "foot front rigth", is that correct?
