Riding from Venice to Rome was very easy and the scenery was beautiful! The train was on time, comfortable, and clean. We upgraded to Premium, and it was well worth it! Value for money Convenience "Comfort train" It is really good to travel by train. It spend less time than the bus. Moreover, it is really comfortable to travel, I can relax and also enjoy the view a long the rail road. It was the best experience. "It was a pleasant experience" It was a pleasant riding experience although I expected more from a first class accommodation in terms of unlimited drinks and snacks, but we were only given one round each. And must the first class coaches be at the far end of the station? There was one instance (from Rome to Venice) when we hopped in at the wrong coach (not First Class), and we only realized it when the lady inspector said we were in the wrong coach, and we had to push our luggage again to the correct section. Value for money Convenience "MILAN-VENEZIA JOURNEY" i travelled with my spouse from milan to venizia. it was a very comfortable journey. very puntual and convienient. enjoyed every bit of it Value for money Convenience Value for money Convenience "Wifi not working all the time " Hi I am foreign and have been going on business trip from Milan to Florence at first class. Firstly, I went to train station straightly from airport so I did not have phone number in Italy so I could not register an account to get wifi account in train. Secondly, one passenger in my coach gave to me his account to get in wifi, but even have account, the wifi did not work all all and I could not go to internet. I was disappointed about that because I need go to internet to check up something. You should fix this problem. Best regards Linh Nguyen Advantage of purchase ticket in advance, enjoyed good discount on ticket fare. Value for money Convenience "Easy, quick and functional" Very efficient, timely, quick and clean travel. Would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Italy for holiday/business! Value for money "Great to travel by train" It is good to take a train to Florence. It isn't far as I thought. We enjoyed the view on the side. The seats are comfortable. The toilets are clean. The staff were nice. Value for money Convenience "Enjoy the ride by Euro Rail " The most important things is about all my train is on dot time of arrival of the final destination . The train coach is very net Value for money Convenience

 27.

Think you could avoid the TSA's body scanners and pat-downs by taking Amtrak? Think again. Even your daily commute isn't safe from TSA screenings. And because the TSA is working with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and Border Patrol, you may have your immigration status examined along with your "junk". As part of the TSA's request for FY 2012 funding, TSA Administrator John Pistole told Congress last week that the TSA conducts 8, 000 unannounced security screenings every year. These screenings, conducted with local law enforcement agencies as well as immigration, can be as simple as checking out cargo at a busy seaport. But more and more, they seem to involve giving airport-style pat-downs and screenings of unsuspecting passengers at bus terminals, ferries, and even subways. These surprise visits are part of the TSA's VIPR program: Visible Intermodal Prevention and Response. The VIPR program first started doing searches in 2007, and has grown since then. Currently, the TSA only has 25 VIPR teams doing these impromptu searches: in 2012, it wants to get 12 more. The searches are in the name of passenger security, and the TSA says it wants to prevent incidents like the 2004 Madrid train bombings. But if the airports' TSA searches miss security risks like large knives, loaded guns, and explosives, there's certainly the chance that screenings at train stations would be similarly flawed. Not to worry: security isn't the only goal of VIPR. A recent VIPR operation/screening at a Tampa Greyhound bus station was conducted with US Border Patrol and ICE. "What we're looking for is threats to national security as well as immigration law violators, " said Steve McDonald from US Border Patrol. An ICE representative said that they were also looking for smuggling, and Gary Milano from Homeland Security said that although that was the first time the Tampa bus depot had been screened, VIPR would be back again sometime in the future and was using the element of surprise as a deterrent to "the bad guys." Although one man at the Tampa screening said he felt "safer, " VIPR operations are not without their naysayers. A VIPR screening at a Des Moines Greyhound station last week is alleged to have targeted Latinos. Another TSA/Border Patrol VIPR screening on a trolley in San Diego resulted in three teens being handcuffed and deported while on their way to school. Around 20 others were also deported, according to local news outlets.

 36.

Available languages — OpenRailwayMap Permissible speeds at the Stuttgart Main station, including its surrounding light rail tracks. OpenRailwayMap maxspeed data is put as an overlay on top of on a pre-installed offline map in OsmAnd (see three easy steps to do that). A map section showing the northern and of the Nürnberg–Munich high-speed line, including track types, station names, track numbers and milestones (as of April 2014) OpenRailwayMap (previously called "Bahnkarte") is a detailed online map of the world's railway infrastructure, built on OpenStreetMap data. It has been available since mid-2013 at openrailwaymap.org. Description Some railways in the greater Stuttgart area (on a mobile phone) This project was founded in December 2011 in order to create a world-wide, open, up-to-date and detailed map of the railway network, based on OpenStreetMap. The domain was registered on April 27th, 2013 and the corresponding website was launched in mid 2013. Since then it has received constant improvement. In February 2014 the project moved to was launched. The OpenRailwayMap includes all rail-mounted and automotive vehicles, e.g. railways, subways, trams, miniature railways and funiculars. The map does not include aerialways, monorails, and maglevs. The name OpenRailwayMap mostly refers to the online map, but the project also aims to support railroad-related data in OpenStreetMap. By developing a consistent data model, providing a mailing list for discussions, developing editor plugins, etc. the collection of this data is boosted and the data is made usable for other applications and developers. Motivation OpenRailwayMap aims to provide a new quality of railway maps and offers the following benefits: Worldwide coverage: So far, there is no railway map covering the whole world, just single countries. Open source and open data: Currently there are also no maps of railway networks, who supply not just rendered maps, but also the raw geodata. All current maps do not offer such data under free licenses. This project is based on OpenStreetMap data which is published under the Open Database License. Up-to-date and detailed: This map aims to profit from crowdsourcing. Lots of people around the world with a good local knowledge can edit this map to make it detailed and already up-to-date. OpenStreetMap: There are already many maps based on OpenStreetMap, e.g. for sailing, cycling, hiking, motorcars, public transport, skiing, power networks and many more. However, there is no railroad map so far. Use cases There are several good reasons for creating an open, comprehensive railway map of the world. Just some just cases: Simulation: Detailed railroad data is an excellent source for simulating trains and signal boxes realisticly. Research: Scientists and researchers can use the data to analyse the railroad network, simulate changes and use it for educational purposes. Plans for model trains: This detailed railroad data is a good data source for railway enthusiasts, who want to build a railroad line as a model. With this data you do not need to record the railroad tracks anymore. Enthusiasts: There are many people interested in railways, e.g. trainspotters. For those people this map provides a detailed information source of the railroad network. Basemap for realtime traffic: Other applications can use this map to track the position of trains or to provide a realtime view of the trains' current position. You can also think of applications showing construction sites, detours, blockings and the traffic density. Routing: With a detailed mapped railway infrastructure you could develop a routing application. Public transport: This map and the data are an important data source for public transport applications like timetables, routing... . Mapping For the average mapper mapping the railroad network is a bit more complicated than mapping streets or POIs, but there are some suitable ways of mapping: Aerial imagery: Railroad tracks can easily be drawn based on aerial imagery, if high-resolution images are available for your area. With those imagery you can map even great yards simply from home. If you have access to very good high-resolution imagery (e.g. Aerowest), you can also see platforms or even signals. In trains: In areas without high-resolution aerial imagery you can track the railroad lines with the GPS while sitting in the train. You should give attention to a sufficient GPS signal in the train to generate exact tracks (see WikiProject_Germany/Railway). Along the railroad lines: Especially in rural areas the railroad lines can be accessed easily from ways parallel to the tracks. From there you can map signals or milestones fast, easy and safe. Crossings and bridges are also a good possibility to have a look at a part of the railroad line. Stations: In stations you can map a lot of details without risk and easy to access. Other sources: Public data, data sources with usage permission, use pictures from trainspotters or videos from the driver's cab after getting their permission, Note: In all ways of mapping, you have to respect some rules: Don't violate general laws: Don't enter railroad areas without permission, don't interrupt the railroad traffic... . Use just data you can get from public location (examples are mentioned some lines before) Don't put yourself at risk Don't use illegal, non-public, confidential or legally doubtful data sources Don't violate copyright laws and don't copy from other maps For newbies: You can donate data, but do not know, how to get into OSM? You have interesting information you can share, but no time to do this yourself? and send your data with a permission so that we might be able do some mapping for you. Features A map of permissible speeds with hillshades

In a Facebook post, train operator SMRT said the delay, which crippled a part of the NSL in both directions, was due to a traction power fault. “Passengers on board one train travelling in the direction of Marina South were safely detrained to Marsiling station, ” it said. Information sheets to advise commuters on alternative transport options were available at Woodlands, Marsiling and Kranji MRT stations. “Our engineering staff are now working to resolve the traction power fault that has affected train services between Woodlands and Kranji in both directions, ” it added. According to SMRT, free bus services were available for passengers to bridge between Kranji and Sembawang. Additional SMRT staff have also been deployed as Crisis Support Teams to assist commuters at bus boarding points and with crowd management duty, as well as to provide travel advice.

Nuremberg city guide Nuremberg, the historic touch. History has left its mark on Bavarian city Nuremberg, with medieval castles and Baroque churches alongside museums dedicated to the post-war Nuremberg Trials. Come December, a homely feel fills the air for the world-famous Christmas market – refuel with the local Drei im Weggla sausages. Start your unforgettable journey in Nuremberg by admiring a splendid view onto the old city from the top of the keep of the 15th and the 16th centuries imperial castle . Then reach the Marketplace where stands the magnificent gothic "Belle Fontaine" decorated with 40 interesting figures. At the foot of the city walls, you will discover a splendid house from the 15th century: the famous artist Dürer’s house. The Resource Centre has a rich collection of formats about the rising of the Nazism and its history in Nuremberg. Finally, go to the "Hauptmarkt", the main square, to savour the "Lebkuchen", the traditional German gingerbread. Nuremberg station(s) Trains are convenient way to reach any town and city in Europe. All main towns have a railway station, while major cities have more than two railway stations. Nearly all railway stations are located in the city centre. 63.

Cheap train tickets for train travel in Germany are not so easy to find. Actually train ticket fares can have really scary prices, especially if you use the modern high speed ICE (Inter City Expresss) trains. Off course for long distances and when you are short on time, this is a great way to travel, but there are much cheaper choices. Here are some secret tips, almost nobody knows about. My Top 6 cheap train tickets around Munich, in order of preference: Bayernticket / Bavaria Ticket This is the ultimate solution in discount train tickets! The Bayernticket is valid one day for all regional and local trains in Bavaria for up to five adults. Schönes Wochenendticket / Happy Weekend Ticket The happy weekend ticket is valid one day for all regional and local trains in Germany for up to five adults. It is only valid on Saturdays or Sundays and costs 40 Euro. In contrast to the Bayernticket you can only use it on weekends, but it is valid in all of Germany. Dauer Spezial /Special Promotion Reduced one way tickets to any place within Germany, starting at 29 Euro per person. You have to pre-select date and time of your train and cannot change your schedule. (Just like with the cheap airline fares). It's a great deal for long distances, because you can also use high-speed ICE trains, but the availability is very limited. You need to book well in advance. Find and book a Special Promotion by clicking on picture below. German Rail Pass There is a great variety of German rail passes, starting from 4 days during one month up to 10 days during one month. You can choose to travel first or second class and it's valid in all trains including high speed ICE trains . Apart form the "normal" pass, there are German Rail Twin Passes (for two persons), German Rail Youth Passes (up to 25 years of age) and children passes. Prices vary depending on many factors. BahnCard BahnCard is valid for one year, personal and not transferable. It gives you a certain discount on ALL purchased tickets during this time (except the special tickets like Bayernticket). You can chose between 25%, 50% and 100% discount. A costs 59 Euro per year, and is worth purchasing if you spend more than 200 Euro for rail travel. Both the and BahnCard 100 are probably not worthwhile for visitors, because you need to travel a lot to start saving. Sparpreis / Savings price Sparpreis 25 and Sparpreis 50 give you 25% resp. 50% discount on the standard fare for a round trip. You have to pre-select date and time of your train and cannot change your schedule. Availability of these cheap train tickets is limited, and booking well in advance is recommended. More savings can be reached when more persons travel, because everyone else will pay 50% of the standard train fare. To find the best connection and check train ticket availability, enter your departure city (von), destination (nach), date (Datum) and time (Zeit) in the form below. You will then be given a choice of several connections and the price of each one. If you want you can book the train ticket online (which is about 2 Euros cheaper, than buying directly at the train station).
