Le 4 tracce di questo disco confermano una creatività che pare infinita,talvolta volutamente sghemba e tortuosa,spesso schizzata e folle,il tutto in un mix unico che non ricorda altri gruppi,di nessun’altro genere:una sorta di caleidoscopico crossover pazzo e divertente(e anche questa definizione non rende bene l’idea).</div>

L’EP si apre con la follia sonora di “Bobby Bob”,che mescola dissonanze chitarristiche di matrice noise(e post hardcore)a buffe voci “trattate” e filtrate(immaginate Alvin Superstar sotto acido che suona un brano punk rock a tutto gas),il tutto con continui cambi di tempo,tra violente accellerazioni e improvvisi rallentamenti inconsueti;un brano schizofrenico e al vetriolo,in cui la potenza sonora è deflagrante (e che vede la band”picchiare”senza pietà,in grande forma)…..</div>

14. “Trumpets”è un brano”rockabilly” alla maniera dei Plof:caustico,dissonante,volutamente disturbante,totalmente folle,con dei riff irresistibili di chitarra in evidenza che sbucano sempre all’improvviso;”Juan Soup”torna su coordinate più ossessive(e grintose),sempre con la pazzia delle voci urticanti che”bucano”le casse:si va a tutta birra senza fermarsi un secondo,con la sezione ritmica e le chitarre che vanno come un treno in corsa dritto in faccia,tra dissonanze e improvvise fiammate di potenza!</div>

Che l’ironia sia parte fondamentale del sound della band è innegabile e ciò non viene smentito nemmeno nel titolo finale:è una traccia apparentemente enigmatica chiamata”Sex Appeal”,che inizia come una sorta di ambient”destrutturato”,per piombare nella consueta orgia rock&roll(dalla mentalità deviata)tipica dei PloF,sempre in bilico tra parti spericolate e cambi di tempo al vetriolo.</div>

26. I Plof da Fasano vanno fortunatamente oltre l’onomatopeia. Suonano un weird punk alla Primus, senza vergogna e senza limiti, raggiungendo col profilo basso una cifra di orginalità evidente ed evitando l’onanismo estetico di tutti i cabarettisti del rock ‘n roll alternativo. Le quattro tracce di questo esordio sono una meglio dell’altra e non conoscono punti deboli. Su tutte spicca la terza, “Juan Pop”, dove la voce falsata da pupazzetto è doppiata da un riff potente intermittente e da una ritmica semplice e trascinante, quasi noise. Il country impazzito di “Sex Appeal” cita il western americano, quello italiano, si trasforma in un urlo carnevalesco di gioia, disastro e voluttà.</div>

28. I Plof hanno fretta. Risolvono tutto in pochi minuti. Ma non ci sono recriminazioni. L’esordio dedicato al martedì grasso è una mala visione dell’America dal tacco dell’Italia. Una deformazione sincera, prospettica e sentimentale, piena di energia e positiva irruenza. Complimenti alla Lepers Productions che li ha saputi scovare nello zoo urbano dell’underground e mettere nella propria riserva di artisti indipendenti da salvaguardare. 33. Panzanella or panmolle is a Tuscan salad of bread and tomatoes popular in the summer. It includes chunks of soaked stale bread and tomatoes, sometimes also onions and basil, dressed with olive oil and vinegar. It is also popular in other parts of central Italy, but also around the world.<br />

35. The concept behind Panzanellas is quite simple: just with an act of violence it is possible to conquer freedom, so they start to kill men and animals conquering their own freedom. 37.  Heavy beats, contorted and twisted out guitars with tumultuous, crazy saxophone solos throughout. They came in, kill’em all and leave. Pure madness or killer efficiency. No use to compare it with any other band, this is just Panzanellas. And it’s quite alright, we need this kind of out of the box trips and although some will probably label it as a slaughter, this is still much more exciting then most of the prefabricated, plastic and predictable “music” these days.<br />

Poi, nel nostro momento più oscuro, ci siamo seduti su una panchina vicina al mare, guardando l'orizzonte. La musica di LA beard club ci ha raggiunto per un po' per lasciarci poco dopo forse più tristi, ma di sicuro molto più pettinati.

Ci propone una cassetta con due parti di uno stesso pezzo, che sono un ottimo esempio di lavoro con chitarra effettata e poche idee nella testa ma buone. Senza strafare, Solquest si immerge – e trascina anche noi – in un vortice sonoro fatto di oggetti che si accumulano fino a costruire una sorta di musica per immaginarie camerette malmesse. Provate pure a figurarvi il fare curioso di un bimbo che, timido, ricompone un puzzle troppo complesso per le sue mani, e nondimeno riesce a dargli un senso compiuto. Fuor di metafora: In Spite… è release evocativa, composta da frattali metallici che si scompongono e ricompongono quasi come pezzi intercambiabili (e torniamo alla metafora di prima…). Due lunghe suite palindrome che si specchiano e si annullano, quasi.<br />

Gira sempre da solo, col suo cane, e comunica solo attraverso la sua musica. Oddio, musica. Sarebbe più corretto dire quel miscuglio di uova strapazzate e vino acerbo che lui considera tale.<br />

Qualunque cosa sia è una roba così importante, per lui, che ha pensato pure di farne un disco (che in realtà è il quinto, se si conta la collaborazione con il compagno di sventure e di etichetta Alexander de Large). C'ha infilato dentro un po' di tutto: ballate folk (Wednesday) bordate country-hardcore (Isn't Up To Me), siparietti folk violentati da una incontenibile frenesia rock'n'roll (la bellissima G Sus o B) e ballate folk lo-fi (Gong). E sarebbe già un sacco di roba, se non fosse che il Nostro è riuscito a tirar fuori pezzi veramente formidabili come Polysemic Fear of The Trueness, No Sugar Will Touch My Shiny Being e I Can Make It. La prima, un classico cow-punk che resuscita i Violent Femmes riuscendo a debitar loro omaggio e a uscirne fuori originale. La seconda, una delle cose più bizzarre che si siano ascoltate negli ultimi tempi, un folk punk schizofrenico che lambisce lidi metal trasudando epicità, basso ventre, classicità e attitudine da strada. La terza poi, un alternative country-rock zoppo, leggero e irriverente che penetra ossa e neuroni con una facilità disarmante.<br />

Le note e le liriche di Top Evidences Against Evolution sguazzano allegre e ubriache in questo pantano di suoni e direzioni dove rivivono, piacevolmente alterati, Meat Puppets, Violent Femmes, Minutemen e Daniel Johnson. Il tutto concentrato in 14 canzoni della durata di appena 30 minuti (perché la sua vita corre veloce, all'impazzata, e le sue canzoni non potrebbero essere da meno) pubblicate dalla Lepers Production, una free netlabel di lebbrosi e gente poco raccomandabile, degli sbandati come lui.

Niente fronzoli, dunque, niente architetture barocche, ma solo un buon folk-punk folle e schizoide che scivola via veloce pestando piedi, triturando riff frenetici, ritmiche impossibili e liriche sconclusionate e regalandoci un'infinità di punti di vista sul rock'n'roll. Nell’ambito della rassegna La Bella Estate la proposta di musica live ha offerto una tripletta di formazioni per soli cinque componenti: eh sì, perché il concerto è iniziato con il duo degli (appunto) Hysm?Duo, ossia Stefano Spataro alla chitarra, al synth e alla voce più Jacopo Fiore alla batteria, per continuare poi prima come Bokassà – con l’aggiunta di un bassista-trombettista (Superfreak) – e poi come Bokassà + Maybe I’m (questi ultimi già recensiti dal Pickwick in occasione di un loro concerto al Godot Art Bistrot di Avellino, <a href="http://www.ilpickwick.it/index.php/musica/item/129-ballando-sulla-catastrofe">http://www.ilpickwick.it/index.php/musica/item/129-ballando-sulla-catastrofe</a>), ossia con l’aggiunta di Ferdinando Farro alla chitarra e alla voce e di Antonio Marino alla batteria. I quali in chiusura hanno eseguito come Maybe I’m alcuni loro pezzi editi e non, con la bella novità alla tromba del suddetto Superfreak. <br />

Serata all’insegna di una impostazione soprattutto ritmica, essendo l’attitudine percussiva, metronomica e variabile al tempo stesso, la base comune su cui si sono evolute le dinamiche sonore delle tre incarnazioni. La Hysm? è anche un’etichetta per cui sono stati pubblicati i lavori di Spataro, Fiore e di altri progetti italiani e internazionali, e come marchio distintivo dello spirito libero e sperimentale che anima la label pugliese compare nel moniker del duo. Sperimentazione e libertà che anima una formula di avant-rock strumentale (tranne per pochi momenti) dall’impianto free che si svolge lungo le direttrici di elementi tematici volutamente amelodici ma sorretti da definite scansioni ritmiche. Solo in un caso la chitarra si lascia andare ad evoluzioni psichedeliche calde ed avvolgenti. <br />

Come trio e come Bokassà la musica accelera in un afro-beat jazz nella sua variante hardcore, con chitarre briose e bassi nervosi, un incrocio fra la musica del Mali e la Banda Magica senza il suo Capitano. Anche l’approccio si fa più giocoso e stemperato, preludio alla attitudine da cazzeggio intelligente che permea Paraponziponzipò (uscito a maggio per l’etichetta Lepers Production), lavoro condiviso con i Maybe I’m, eseguito dal vivo nella formazione a cinque. La resa acquista in spessore e compattezza, con doppia chitarra e batteria. Al jazz-rock di Nel continente nero seguono le suggestioni canterburyane di Alle falde del Kilimangiaro. Il ritmo si fa più greve con la cinematica Ci sta un popolo di negri (track buona per sottolineare un momento di attesa di qualcosa di sinistro per un probabile nuovo cannibal movie) e riacquista velocità per descrivere la fuga nella savana di Che ha inventato tanti balli con un tribalismo che ricorda i Savage Republic e il Pop Group. Il ritmo di Il più famoso è l’hully gully non è certo quello del ballo eponimo, frastagliato tra richiami math e psych-jazz. A chiudere, alcuni brani dei Maybe I’m con accompagnamento di tromba, penalizzati però dalla scarsa resa acustica dell’amplificazione della voce di Ferdinando Farro. <br />

383. I Maybe I’m non potranno che giovarsi di questo innesto strumentale che arricchisce il loro già spartano ma efficace amalgama sonico. <br />

406. italiane, i baresi Maybe I’m e i campani Bokassà. I primi più orientati
407. verso l’afro-jazz, mentre i secondi verso il roots-blues. <br /> L’aspetto
408. più intrigante è proprio questo: entrambe le formazioni sono
409. meridionali, quindi geograficamente più vicine all’Africa ed entrambe
410. sono alla ricerca della radici musicali del rock e dei suoi derivati o
411. delle sue componenti e così le due formazioni guardano all’Africa
412. ironizzando e sbeffeggiando il vecchio tormentone di <b>Edoardo Vianello</b>, intriso di stereotipi. <br /> Il disco è stato composto da entrambe le formazioni che si sono fuse e hanno chiesto aiuto anche a due sassofonisti. <br /> Il lavoro parte con <i>Nel continente nero</i> un jazz africano che ricorda molto le ultime cose degli olandesi <b>The Ex</b>, affascinati dal jazz etiope. Con <i>Alle falde del Kilimangiaro</i> le svisate jazz dei fiati sono sostenute  da una base ritmica spezzettata e allo stesso tempo circolare, mentre <i>Ci sta un popolo di negri</i> è un’ammaliante nenia evocativa che fa venire il mal d’Africa. <br /> <i>Che ha inventato tanti balli</i> è dotato di un ritmo in crescendo con una base rock che resta sullo sfondo, ma che rende il brano molto teso e con <i>Il più famoso è l’Hully Gully</i> si lascia spazio all’improvvisazione free. I ventisette secondi di <i>Bukakke di mosche</i>, posti in chiusura, sono invece un divertissment, semi-delirante. <br />
413. Questo progetto musicale non sfigurerebbe affatto nel catalogo dei
414. Fishtank della Konkurrent. Considerate che l’Ep è liberamente
