It captures the trend of avionics, aerodynamics and propulsion.

Every other time, there is one recurring questing in OURAeSI, which stream to choose. Though i have already written a lot on this topic.

Here again i wanted to investigate the topic in a different angle. I wanted to know which stream is popular around the world. So i looked at Google. Google has a cool service called trends, it shows the hotness of a topic, which it does by comparing the volume of searches done and the news references it gets.

So guess it is fair to say that if one particular topic is searched more than that is more in peoples mind than the other one. So i did a trend analysis of the 3 streams of aerospace, Avionics, aerodynamics and propulsion.

Avionics is blue, aerodynamics is red and propulsion is yellow.

As you will notice, avionics ranks highest. Propulsion following a close second and then comes aerodynamics.

Its seems avionics is hot stream right now followed by propulsion.

Look at the country wide distribution. There we see India taking the lead followed by France, Canada, united states, and Australia.

Another thing to note is that in India propulsion has the lowest trend while France takes the maximum of propulsion.

Avionics stream is taken by US after India.

Does these trends mean anything?

Grab "After-AeSI Career guide to AeSI" ebook free

But if you ask them, they are not sure about their choice. Sing merits of structures before them and they will hop on it as it were their lifelong dream to be a structural engineer!

Well, i would like this club's member's opinion. How can anyone chose a stream? some choose aero, some choose prop, some avionics, some maintenance ? when you ask them why ? they just say " hmp....... well because so and so choose it ?" or " .... Because it's easy." or "..... because future is good in this stream!"

These are the reasons people come up with when they choose, some choose what their seniors have chosen, some go by rumors of particular stream being easy! Well, i want to know what's the correct way? How have you chosen it? Is there a better way ? Do not we evaluate ourselves first, before we take that decision? What and how we can make a choice? a debate on this subject is long over due. its time!

It's a vital decision in an AeSI's student's life, so let's spill the beans.... so that from now on they can make an informed choice.......

Shashank SHARMA had this advice...

All the streams are good and have equal job opportunities arund the world and in India too. If you have a inclination towards Aero/Structuctre or Propulsion than you opt for Aero-Mechanical Stream. But if your choice of study and work is towards Aviation Electronics than you opt for Maintainance-Avionics stream. It all depends on your choice and amount of smart work you put in to achieve your goal.

Doing AME is slightly different from doing AeSI , as AME requires you to join a DGCA accredited institute, along with required amount of technical hands-on-experience for being eligible to appear in AME examinations.

Make sure whatever you opt , try to be the "Best", then only all your desires for a bright career can come true.

What do you think?

View RSS feed

Grab "After-AeSI Career guide to AeSI" ebook free

Here is what he said...

"The field or the department. One should think a while before joining whether this is the field where I see myself in say next few years. I have seen people going to each and every place where somebody is interested in hiring trainees and join there just because they got there!. Please do not do that. It is this experience which will prove beneficial in your professional career ahead so choose it wisely!!"

Mr. Gaju Korde has raised a right point regarding the importance of field and department before deciding on your training mission!! Be absolutely sure where you see yourself in the next few years, before your clutch on any training offer! See what’s appropriate for your chosen filed. If you are an Avionics guys then going into training in propulsion related lab won't help you much. Yes you will have the luxury to write "6 or 1 year experience in such and such ". But ask yourself is it relevant experience that matches your academic and chosen stream!! May be the electrical lab where they use lab-view, and test avionics instruments would be more correct choice for an avionics guys!!

Also when you set your mind on getting a training, set two goals in your mind that you will come out of this one year or 6 months latter, with more knowledge and skills than your have entered. Promise yourself that you will cultivate yours skills as well as deliver quality, professional work to your mentor while you are under him!!

These two pledges if you can make to yourself and keep them in your mind, nothing can stop you from shining like a star!!

Thank you Mr. Gaju Korde for pointing out the important point, hope to hear more from you!!

Grab "After-AeSI Career guide to AeSI" ebook free
