  40. <p>Following a story on the European gull screaming championship, the news presenter decided to try his hand at emulating one.</p>
  41. <p>The strange competition saw participants from all around the world attempting to properly duplicate the sound. Cooper, a nine-year-old from Derbyshire, won the junior category and delighted the judges.</p>
  42. <p>Maryam, 46, appreciated the &#8216;uncanny&#8217; impression and warned viewers that while she&#8217;d want to participate, it may be &#8216;career-ending&#8217;. She couldn&#8217;t resist the impulse for long, and we&#8217;re glad for that.</p>
  43. <p>‘I can feel that you really want me to do an impression of a seagull so I’m going to give it a go,’ she said.</p>
  44. <p>She then began to impersonate the animal with a loud ‘ha-ha-ha’, which we immediately want to set as our morning alarm.</p>

  50. <p>Maryam then returned to reading the news about Donald Trump&#8217;s court case, as if she hadn&#8217;t already filled the studio with squawking sounds.</p>
  51. <p>The moment was praised after TV critic Scott Bryan shared the clip. Daniel Jae Webb said: ‘Honestly love this woman.’ While others described her as a ‘national treasure’ and remarked that the moment alone was worth the TV license fee.</p>

  114. <p>‘It was very heart-breaking, I’d never ever seen Lisa, not once ever, until that all started.</p>
  115. <p>‘It was just terrible. I mean they still die, but we’re getting more used to it now, we’re a bit more robust.’</p>
  116. <p>He added: ‘We’re a bit stronger at dealing with it now. But it was a very heart-breaking time.’</p>
  117. <p>Clarkson continued by saying that he’s also ‘very fond’ of his goats and cows on the farm, despite Cooper telling him to ‘kill’ the goats to ‘sell’ and ‘eat’.</p>

  120. <p>‘But I actually thought, no I want to keep them because I like them, but the pigs you have to sell them, otherwise nobody would keep pigs if you didn’t eat them.</p>
  121. <p>‘There would be no cows or pigs in the country if people didn’t eat them.’</p>
  122. <p>He added: ‘So in order to have the animals you have to eat them at the correct time, and it is weird, because you love them and you give birth to them and you nurture them and you feed them, you take care of them, you get the vet round when they’re poorly.</p>
  123. <p>‘And then you kill them and it is a strange place to be when you haven’t been a farmer all your life but we are getting better at it, we definitely are.’</p>

  127. loved pigs, I didn’t think I’d be that enamoured by pigs but I did get really close<br />

  129. <p>‘Farming’s just sad. The animals become your friends and you’re isolated – there are certain farms that are really isolated – and the animals become your family.</p>
  130. <p>‘When they become unwell, you’re losing members of your animal family.’</p>

  218. <p>The full-time mother surprised both the audience and the panel when, instead of singing according to the background music, she started making an entirely new sound.</p>
  219. <p>Alesha, 45, quickly walked out of her seat, while Amanda, 53, hid her face behind her hands. Simon, 64, who is generally difficult to impress, thought the entire situation humorous and laughed.</p>
  220. <p>At several moments during the performance, the camera moved around to the stunned crowd. Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly, both 48, pretended to be unwell.</p>
  221. <p>Alesha and Bruno, 68, had heard what they wanted to hear, so they pressed the red button to remove her off the platform after around thirty seconds.</p>

  228. <p>The won-over audience rewarded her with a cheer, and Amanda then began to join in on the belching. This was all too much for Alesha who stated: ‘I’m out of here.’</p>
  229. <p>‘It was so stupid, it was brilliant,’ remarked Simon. His son Eric, nine, then ran up to the desk to steal his microphone and burp down it, which seemed to inspire Simon to join in on the madness.</p>
  230. <p>Kimberly had flown from America to perform on the show, and her journey was not in vain since Bruno had a change of heart and joined Amanda and Simon with yeses.</p>

  308. <p>Following Strictly dancer Amy Dowden&#8217;s breast cancer diagnosis last year, Shirley wrote: &#8216;Urging all ladies not to miss their mammogram.</p>
  309. <p>‘I went for mine, ended up going for a second one and a biopsy, local anaesthetic biopsy done.</p>
  310. <p>‘Now waiting for results… @Amy_Dowden you ran through my mind the importance of not putting it off go and get tested. Plus self breast check recently.’</p>
  311. <p>Shirley raised her top in the image she posted, revealing her breast bandaged in a bandage after the checkup.</p>
  312. <p>Shirley is not the only TV celebrity who has used her position to urge others to be tested. Good Morning Britain&#8217;s Susanna Reid described Sarah Ferguson&#8217;s breast cancer diagnosis as a &#8216;wake-up call&#8217; for her to make an appointment.</p>
  313. <p>Amy, 33, was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer in May 2023 and declined to participate in this year&#8217;s series due to further tumours discovered after a single mastectomy.</p>

  358. <p>The British comic legend may be 84 going on 85, but if his bank account costs are any indication, he&#8217;s as energetic as a spring chicken.</p>
  359. <p>In a recent interview, the booked and busy actor explained why he doesn&#8217;t &#8216;look awful for 84&#8217;. He said that he had undergone stem cell treatment every 12-18 months for the past 20 years.</p>
  360. <p>The real catch, however, is the exorbitant cost of the anti-ageing procedure, which comes in at £17,000. That implies Cleese has spent around £250,000 since starting the therapy.</p>
  361. <p>‘These cells travel around the body and when they discover a place that needs repair, they’ll then change into the cells that you want for that repair, so they might become cartilage cells or liver cells,’ he explained to <a href="https://www.exceptional.com/life/celebrities/john-cleese-on-ageing-and-reopening-fawlty-towers/" data-type="link" data-id="https://www.exceptional.com/life/celebrities/john-cleese-on-ageing-and-reopening-fawlty-towers/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Saga Magazine</a> about the process.</p>

  369. <p>‘If you’re buying yourself a few extra years, I think it’s worth it,’ he added.</p>
  370. <p>He also hailed his 52-year-old wife, jewellery designer Jennifer Wade, for keeping him youthful.</p>
  371. <p>‘I mean, it is sad to think I shall die some time before she will, but I’m in pretty good health,’ Cleese said.</p>
  372. <p>‘I’m not fit, but the way I put it is that the doctors don’t yet know what I’m going to die of.’</p>
  373. <p>The statement is startling given that, earlier in the interview, the Fawlty Towers actor admitted to being&#8217;surprisingly destitute&#8217; following his divorce from third wife Alyce Faye in 2008. The costly breakup prompted Cleese to propose a $20 million (£16 million) compensation.</p>

The charity <a href="https://www.tna.org.uk/what-is-trigeminal-neuralgia/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Trigeminal Neuralgia UK</a> outlines that the condition is ‘sudden, severe, brief, stabbing pain occurring in attacks lasting at the most a few seconds usually only on one side of the face and provoked by light touch’, adding that it’s described as being ‘the worst pain known to man’.</p>
  473. <p>Charlotte heartbreakingly admitted that while she was in extreme agony, she &#8216;didn&#8217;t want to live anymore.</p>
  474. <p>She explained: ‘You don’t know when you’re going to have your next pain and when you do have your pain, it can be managed sometimes with painkillers or it can be to a point you’re screaming, you want to stick a knife in your face because it’s unbearable.</p>

  478. <p>After feeling like she was ‘missing out on a lot of things in life’, Charlotte was left feeling like she ‘didn’t want to live anymore’ and was ‘at [her] worst’ when her partner urged a leading surgeon to take her on as a patient, but following him ‘fixing’ her, Charlotte was involved in a car accident so had to undergo surgery again, and the recovery was ‘a lot worse’.</p>

  510. <content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>ITV president Kevin Lygo has disclosed that the successful drama Mr Bates versus The Post Office suffered a loss of roughly a million pounds.</p>
  511. <p>This is despite the raucous crowd reaction and the four-part series&#8217; sale to a number of overseas networks.</p>
  512. <p>The drama, starring <a href="https://www.mycelebritylife.co.uk/?s=Will+Mellor" title="Will Mellor">Will Mellor</a>, Toby Jones, and Monica Dolan, brought back to light one of the most significant miscarriages of justice in UK history.</p>
  513. <p>The narrative follows Alan Bates, a former sub-postmaster who lost his Post Office in north Wales after being accused of stealing. He later realised that he was not alone, as hundreds of people were also impacted by the scandal but had done nothing wrong.</p>
  514. <p>Innocent individuals were convicted of stealing, resulting in homelessness, debt, and 236 jail sentences. Four individuals also took their own lives.</p>
  515. <p>The show sparked public indignation and helped bring the Horizon affair to light.</p>
  516. <p>Lygo, the managing director of media and entertainment of ITV, told the Voice of the Listener &amp; Viewer (VLV) spring conference on Wednesday: ‘Mr Bates has made a loss of something like a million pounds and we can’t continually do this.</p>
  517. <p>‘Of course, some things are very profitable on the channel, and some things aren’t.</p>

  521. <p>‘But it’s a challenge to be able to fund some of the things that aren’t, obviously, of international appeal.</p>
  522. <p>‘We’re hoping this may be because it caused such a furore here that maybe sales will pick up, but there’s no evidence of it yet.</p>
  523. <p>‘If you’re in Lithuania, four hours on the British Post Office? Not really, thank you very much. So you can see the challenges here.’</p>
  524. <p>He said the challenge for mainstream television broadcasters at the moment is ‘getting enough audiences to turn up on the night’ to watch their shows.</p>
  525. <p>Lygo noted that five or six years ago, they would have anticipated a programme like Mr Bates to get about six or seven million people, but that now an overnight audience rating of four million is as &#8216;excellent as you get&#8217;.</p>
  526. <p>The ITV head also acknowledged that after the first viewing, he thought the programme was &#8217;emotional&#8217; and &#8216;fully told&#8217;, but he had no idea how much of a stir it would make.</p>
  527. <p>The show brought the subject back to the public&#8217;s and parliament&#8217;s attention, with former Post Office executive Paula Vennells subsequently stating her intention to hand back her CBE in the wake of the controversy.</p>

  532. <p>Lygo said: ‘These days, it is harder and harder to guess in advance now what something is going to do and whether people will turn up at all.</p>
  533. <p>‘There is so much choice and competition now in your homes every night… Everything that’s ever been made, you can watch now and there is some wonderful stuff out there, it’s quite hard to find.</p>
  534. <p>‘But the competition, none of us have ever seen anything like this and that’s the real pressure on the production community, on commercial broadcasters, in getting sufficient audiences and the right audiences for various commercial partners…</p>
  535. <p>‘That’s the reason we’re all a bit tense and nervous these days.’</p>
  536. <p>Due to pressure on the broadcaster from various angles, ITV is currently trying to save £150 million.</p>
  537. <p>Discussing how ITV’s cost-saving measures will affect viewers, Lygo said: ‘In the first instance, we’re trying to find every penny that we can, not on the screen.</p>

  540. <p>‘So we’ve got to turn over every stone in the office, so to speak, to make cuts there. To really, yet again, re-examine what it is we should do, what we don’t have to do, how can we change the way we’re doing things.’</p>
  541. <p>He also said that the broadcaster is looking at whether technology and artificial intelligence can be utilised to help them make ‘programmes more efficiently and cheaper’.</p>
  542. <p>Mr Bates vs. The Post Office was ITV&#8217;s largest new drama in almost a decade, surpassing the premiere of Downton Abbey in 2010.</p>
  543. <p>ITV announced that the series averaged 9.8 million viewers throughout its four episodes, and that, adding post-seven-day watching, the first three episodes were seen by more than 10.6 million people, with the debut now averaging 10.9 million after ten days of catch-up.</p>
  544. <p>The series, including the documentary, has received 16.6 million streaming on ITVX.</p>
  545. <p>This comes after the writer of Mr. Bates highlighted how &#8216;ecstatic&#8217; the postmasters are and how &#8216;astounded&#8217; she is by the drama&#8217;s impact.</p>

  548. <p>Having spent three years researching the story, writer Gwyneth Hughes said, according to <a href="https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2024/jan/09/post-office-scandal-tv-drama-horizon" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">The Guardian</a>: ‘None of us expected this. I thought it was quite a niche story which would get respectable viewing figures but I was completely wrong.’</p>
  549. <p>‘I’m thrilled about it on every level, but it’s been a massive team effort, a team that includes hundreds of postmasters,’ she added.</p>
  550. <p>Since the drama aired, millions of people have shown their support for the genuine victims of the tragedy, leaving them saddened.</p>
  551. <p>Over 1,000,000 people signed a petition to deprive ex-Post Office CEO Paula Vennells of her CBE after the corporation wrongfully persecuted hundreds of employees. Vennells has already declared that she will return it.</p>
  552. <p>Prime Minister Rishi Sunak has proposed legislation to exonerate and compensate all falsely convicted sub-postmasters, with only 93 cases resolved thus far.</p>

  639. <p>Trying to keep their farm in the countryside running, the contentious TV personality faces a slew of challenges, including emotional animal births and clashes with environmentalists and police.</p>
  640. <p>Speaking from Diddly Squatt ahead of the new series, Clarkson delved deeper into farming finances.</p>
  641. <p>He continued by explaining that, while the farm is 1,000 acres (an average large-sized farm), the crew only farms 500 of them.</p>
  642. <p>Wildflower meadows, woodlands, and streams make up the other half.</p>

  644. So, Clarkson wanted to see if money could be made ‘out of farming bits of the farm that aren’t farmed.’</p>
  645. <p>This led to a ‘competition’ with fellow farmer Kaleb.</p>
  646. <p>‘I said, “You do your farming, you do your wheat and your barley and your all seed rate, and I will do little bits and bobs in the woods and in the meadows and see what I can earn”,’ he revealed.</p>
  647. <p>Spoiler, Clarkson lost.</p>
  648. <p>He promised that it was still a &#8216;pleasant competition&#8217; that lasted a whole year.</p>
  649. <p>‘What we really did it for was to highlight the enormous cost that farmers face just to try and get food out of the ground,’ he explained.</p>
  650. <p>‘So, ordinarily, you’d probably spend on the farm like this £40,000 in seed, fertiliser, slug pellets, and all of the diesel, and various things you need to grow food.</p>

  655. <p>Clarkson added: ‘It’s a bit like if you go to a casino and it’s a £2 minimum bet, you can have fun with your mates. You know, you have two quid here, two quid on the roulette table.</p>
  656. <p>‘What if they make it a £500 minimum bet? You’re not going to do it. It’s too risky.’</p>
  657. <p>‘And the farm is getting to that point where it’s too risky,’ he confessed.</p>
  658. <p>‘You just sit there,’ Clarkson added. ‘If I invest £108,000 and then the weather’s bad, I’ve lost a lot, you know?</p>
  659. <p>‘So, it’s, that’s really why we did it and I hope it worked well. I hope farmers enjoy it anyway.’</p>
  660. <p>Elsewhere, Clarkson was keen to clarify that Clarkson’s Farm is ‘genuine reality television’.</p>
  661. <p>‘It’s absolutely real. What you see actually happens and none of it’s planned,’ he stressed.</p>

  669. <p>‘I have no script and every single day when we meet to do filming, we’ll have a vague idea of what we need to do.</p>
  670. <p>‘And I can guarantee we’ll end up doing something completely different because the weather will have changed or some fence will have fallen down or whatever it might be, and you never, ever know what you’re going into.’</p>

  721. <p>Speaking previously about the delay in naming their baby, Peter told <a href="https://www.ok.co.uk/celebrity-news/exclusive-32623631" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">OK! Magazine</a>: ‘We are still no closer to a name for our newest bundle of joy! Anytime Emily and I talk about it, it just gets put aside.</p>
  722. <p>‘She is recovering, after all, so I totally get it.’</p>
  723. <p>He added: ‘We have less than four weeks left before we have to register her. I took our baby for a walk in her pram for the first time to drop Millie and Theo at school.</p>
  724. <p>‘It’s beautiful to do these things all over again.’</p>
  725. <p>Peter mentioned that he and Emily frequently disagree on baby names.</p>
  726. <p>‘We’ve been trying out names that our friends and family have suggested, but then Emily and I don’t seem to agree on them.</p>

  767. <p>Viewers of Race Across the World burst into tears when little competitor Alfie broke down during a light homage to his mother.</p>
  768. <p>This week, as they travelled from Japan to Lombok against the clock, the distance between leaders and laggards widened when they reached Cambodia.</p>
  769. <p>Teams compete for a £20,000 cash prize by racing 15,000 miles across many countries without smartphones, internet connection, or bank cards.</p>
  770. <p>During their stay in Hoi An, Vietnam, the 20-year-old and his closest buddy Owen paused to light a candle for Alfie&#8217;s mother, who died when he was five.</p>
  771. <p>‘I just want that sensation of being able to see her again,’ he heartbreakingly shared, tugging on viewers heartstrings.</p>
  772. <p>Alfie revealed that when nursing him as a newborn, mother found she had a rare and dangerous form of breast cancer, but she had hung on for him.<br />

  774. ‘Even though I try not to admit it, I do miss her intensely and I still dream of what was,’ he shared as he broke down in tears after releasing a lantern into the water.</p>
  775. <p>He had added that the lanterns had a special place in his heart because of a ritual his family had started following her passing.</p>
  776. <p>‘When my mum passed away, we set [a lantern] off every year with a message attached so to be able to reignite that would be incredible,’ continued Alfie.</p>
  777. <p>Releasing the lights into the river is considered a manner of paying homage to ancestors, with hundreds scattered serenely across the water among the boats.</p>

  784. <p>He displayed a memory box she had prepared for him before her death, saying that she had only six weeks to live but was determined to see him start school.</p>
  785. <p>Alfie added: ‘She said “Well if I’m going to die, I’m at least going to die while he’s in school.” So she managed to take me to school on the first day, I think this was a very proud day for her.’</p>
  786. <p>After this triumph, his mum had a rapid deterioration and had ‘pushed it as far as she could’ before dying in Christmas of 2008.</p>
  787. <p>Releasing his lantern into the water, Alfie choked up and let out a sob as he was ‘inundated with emotions’ he hadn’t felt ‘since [he] was a little kid’.</p>

  965. <p>Doctors had previously informed her that she needed to shed 200 pounds before undergoing weight loss surgery.</p>
  966. <p>Tammy used to weigh up to 725 pounds.</p>
  967. <p>After committing to becoming better, the singer has been sighted out and about without help, whether it&#8217;s oxygen or a walker.</p>
  968. <p>Tammy subsequently told People that she felt glad to be alive after being placed in a medically induced coma.</p>
  969. <p>In summer 2023, she told the publication that she was &#8216;doing fantastic&#8217; and &#8216;thankful to be alive&#8217; after requiring a ventilator to stabilise her before.</p>

  975. <p>‘I was able to make my lungs strong enough to get my trach [tracheostomy tube for breathing] out,’ the TLC personality said.</p>
  976. <p>‘And then recently the doctor cleared me to be off my oxygen machine during the daytime.’</p>
  977. <p>‘Now I only wear my oxygen at night, along with my BiPap [bilevel positive airway pressure] machine,’ she added.</p>
  978. <p>‘I monitor my oxygen levels throughout the day and keep my machine on hand in case I need it.’</p>
  979. <p>Tammy qualified for weight loss surgery during season 4 of 100-Lb Sisters, by which point she dropped to 535 pounds.</p>

  1068. <p>The broadcaster confirmed that no new episodes of the docuseries would be filmed this year and said it would make a ‘recommission decision at an appropriate time.’</p>
  1069. <p>24 Hours in A&amp;E, which follows life in Britain&#8217;s biggest hospital departments, has been a Channel 4 mainstay since its debut in 2011.</p>
  1070. <p>In the past 13 years, it has created 32 series and over 300 episodes.</p>
  1071. <p>The show began at King&#8217;s College Hospital in London and moved to St George&#8217;s Hospital in South London in 2014.</p>
  1072. <p>The series has spent the last two years filming more episodes in the North of England using local talent as part of Channel 4&#8217;s transition away from London.</p>

  1077. <p>Broadcast initially reported Channel 4&#8217;s decision to cease filming on the series, which will affect over 100 staff workers employed by production firm The Garden.</p>
  1078. <p>However, Channel 4 assured viewers that certain previously shot but unseen programmes were ready for airing.</p>
  1079. <p>In a statement to <a href="https://www.thesun.co.uk/tv/27522699/24-hours-in-ae-axe-fears-production-halted/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">The Sun</a>, Channel 4 said: ‘Whilst we’re not filming more new episodes this autumn, we have a high number of recently filmed but not yet aired episodes, which means we’ll continue to bring all the behind-the-scenes access from Queen’s Medical Centre Nottingham’s A&amp;E department.</p>

  1123. <p>Her most recent work was Sue Perkins: Lost In Alaska, a three-part Channel 5 documentary that caused some confusion during a Behind the Scenes discussion on This Morning.</p>
  1124. <p>Sue was appearing on the ITV show to discuss her current game show, Double The Money, when the conversation went to her travel series.</p>
  1125. <p>It was discovered that earlier in the morning, she had spoken with This Morning anchor Cat Deeley and writer Tom Swarbrick, during which the term &#8216;Alaska&#8217; was confused with the similar-sounding name of psychoactive Ayahuasca.</p>
  1126. <p>The South American drug has hallucinogenic properties, leaving Sue warning: ‘Don’t do it kids.’</p>
  1127. <p>Cat had been explaining: ‘We were having a really interesting chat, where Tom was talking and he thought, where was he talking about?’</p>
  1128. <p>Sue clarified: ‘He was talking about Ayahuasca, the hallucinogenic drug that is often taken in South America, and you were talking about Alaska, the final frontier.</p>

  1138. <p>‘I absolutely loved Alaska, it’s one of the last places on Earth where you can go somewhere and you’re the first boots on the ground, I’ve been to places where no human being has been,’ she said.</p>

  1143. <p>‘I was going to feed the baby moose, and then baby moose was much bigger than I expected!’ she added.</p>
  1144. <p>‘It was quite violent, my shoulder was almost dislocated during that feed!’ she said, recalling how she was ‘blasted against the fence and panicked’.</p>

  1184. <p>The gripping criminal thriller has captivated fans, who have reported on social media that they binge-watched all six episodes in one evening, risking major sleep deprivation.</p>
  1185. <p>They may want to prepare for more sleepless nights, as Richard said during a screening ahead of Red Eye&#8217;s launch that there is a strong desire for a second season.</p>

  1234. <p>Charlotte, 42, an IT programmer from London, had to miss a test after slashing her finger with a knife.</p>
  1235. <p>She had been cooking spicy vegan dumplings when she disclosed the mishap, and cameras focused on her bloody wound.</p>
  1236. <p>As host John Torode stated she had &#8216;taken the top of her finger off&#8217;, producers zoomed in on the blade, which had a sliver of Charlotte&#8217;s flesh sitting on a chopping board.</p>
  1237. <p>The 58-year-old then stated, &#8216;Unfortunately, Charlotte has cut herself and has to leave the MasterChef kitchen for medical assistance, so she will not be finishing the rest of her dish.&#8217;</p>
  1238. <p>Viewers on X tweeted their best wishes to Charlotte following the devastating cut, but some questioned the programme&#8217;s editing judgement.</p>

  1353. <p>Channel 4 has decided on the future of two of its most popular entertainment series from the last year.</p>
  1354. <p>While one will return for another season, another popular series has been cancelled.</p>
  1355. <p>Paddy McGuinness is pleased to announce that Tempting Fortune, his adventurous reality series, will return.</p>
  1356. <p>Unfortunately for Danny Dyer, the show Scared of the Dark, which he presented, has had its lights switched out.</p>
  1357. <p>Deadline verified the announcement on Tuesday (April 23), following months of speculation over which major premieres from 2023 would be green-lit for a second season.</p>
  1358. <p>Scared of the Dark followed eight celebrities as they were placed in a bunker and forced to eat, sleep, and, well, survive for eight days in complete darkness.</p>

  1366. <p>The first (and only) season starred boxing champion <a href="https://www.mycelebritylife.co.uk/tag/nicola-adams" title="Nicola Adams" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Nicola Adams</a>, <a href="https://www.mycelebritylife.co.uk/tag/love-island" title="love island" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Love Island</a> superstar Chloe Burrows, former super-middleweight boxer Chris Eubank, The Wanted&#8217;s <a href="https://www.mycelebritylife.co.uk/tag/max-george" title="Max George" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Max George</a>, and comedian Chris McCausland.</p>

  1368. <p>Ultimately, only one could succeed, and the final episode saw former England footballer Paul Gascoigne named the winner by a vote of the surviving celebrities.</p>

  1373. <p>Despite gaining over a million views, Channel 4 has determined that Scared of the Dark is not worth another season.</p>
  1374. <p>Former Take Me Out presenter Paddy will be overjoyed, too, since Tempting Fortune isn&#8217;t just back; it&#8217;s being enhanced.</p>
  1375. <p>The show&#8217;s second season will include eight episodes, with competitors being dumped in a tropical jungle area for many days.</p>
  1376. <p>The idea is for them to resist all the outrageous temptations to win a large sum of money.</p>
  1377. <p>Series 1, which was recorded in South Africa, ended with ex-professional basketball player James winning the most, roughly £22,000, after the prize pot began at £30,000.</p>
  1378. <p>The prize fund and filming location for Series 2 have yet to be revealed.</p>

  1383. <p>Tempting Fortune&#8217;s inaugural season was seen by about 1.5 million people every episode, with the broadcaster claiming it was one of the most-watched shows last year for the targeted 16-34-year-old demographic, with a 91% viewing completion rate across the series.</p>
  1384. <p>The show&#8217;s performance on Channel 4&#8217;s streaming service looked to be the key to its success, sealing the deal when it came time to recommission.</p>
  1385. <p>Channel 4 has lately undergone considerable changes as a result of a new five-year plan introduced by executives in January, which focuses more on streaming than traditional TV.</p>
  1386. <p>Unfortunately, some beloved series have disappeared along the road, like Greg James&#8217; Rise and Fall.</p>
  1387. <p>The controversial game show featured 16 average individuals competing for power and £100,000 in a framework similar to the popular BBC show, The Traitors.</p>
  1388. <p>Following its axe, a spokesperson for the show said: ‘Rise and Fall was a great show that we were very proud of and attracted strong audiences, but Channel 4 is all about the new and we want to make space for the next great new reality idea.</p>
