Reba took to social media to praise Kelly for the sweet tribute.

Kelly does not appear to have responded to Reba just yet. The women have been <a href="https://www.justjared.com/2018/12/27/kelly-clarkson-pays-tribute-to-reba-mcentire-with-amazing-fancy-performance-video/">longtime friends</a>. 
After Kelly and Brandon separated in 2020, Reba <a href="https://www.justjared.com/2021/10/10/reba-mcentire-weighs-in-on-kelly-clarksons-divorce-from-former-stepson-brandon-blackstock/">weighed in on the divorce</a>, showing love for both sides.

If you were unaware, on The Kelly Clarkson Show Kelly has a recurring segment where she covers another artist’s song and puts her own spin on it. She transformed “Wide Awake” this week and hit all the right notes. 
After seeing the cover on Instagram, Katy took to the comments section to react. She was clearly a big fan! “Ok dang I can never sing that again,” the pop star joked.
It does not appear that Kelly has reacted yet, but we’ll let you know if she does.

In the lawsuit filed in Los Angeles, according to <a href="https://www.billboard.com/business/legal/kelly-clarkson-lawsuit-ex-husband-brandon-blackstock-1235632888/" onclick="getOutboundLink('https://www.billboard.com/business/legal/kelly-clarkson-lawsuit-ex-husband-brandon-blackstock-1235632888/'); return false;">Billboard</a>, Kelly is seeking an order requiring the return of “any and all commissions, fees, profits, advances, producing fees or other monies” that she paid to Starstruck, going all the back to 2007 at the start of her working relationship with Brandon‘s father <a href="https://www.justjared.com/tags/narvel-blackstock/" title="Narvel Blackstock">Narvel</a> and the company.
This new lawsuit Kelly has filed comes years after <a href="https://www.justjared.com/2020/09/29/kelly-clarkson-sued-by-former-management-company-run-by-ex-husbands-father/">Starstruck sued her for unpaid commissions</a> in 2020. Music is a lucrative career, and that is evident when looking at the net worth of these musicians. 
Curious to see just how much they have earned? We took a stroll down memory lane and rounded up some of the most prominent names from the ’00s. Based on their estimated net worth, we ranked them from lowest to highest.
What did we learn? Several pop stars of the era are members of the billionaire’s club today, and they’ve all amassed impressive fortunes. However, the top earner still beats out her closest competitor by about $600 million!

Of course, there are other A-list pop stars who have a lot of knowledge that they could impart on the next generation of musicians who try out for the show. 
We pulled some artists who found fame on singing competitions – think <a href="https://www.justjared.com/tags/harry-styles/" title="Harry Styles">Harry Styles</a> and <a href="https://www.justjared.com/tags/camila-cabello/" title="Camila Cabello">Camila Cabello</a> – and others who have decades of industry experience – like <a href="https://www.justjared.com/tags/madonna/" title="Madonna">Madonna</a>, <a href="https://www.justjared.com/tags/beyonce-knowles/" title="Beyonce Knowles">Beyonce</a> and <a href="https://www.justjared.com/tags/rihanna/" title="Rihanna">Rihanna</a>.

Music is a lucrative career, and that is evident when looking at the net worth of these musicians.

While chatting with guest <a href="https://www.justjared.com/tags/common/" title="Common">Common</a> on the Tuesday (Jan. 23) episode of her daytime talk show The Kelly Clarkson Show, the 41-year-old entertainer explained why she doesn’t think you could be friends with your ex.

“I just feel like it can get awkward,” Kelly said. “It depends on who ended it or who it is. It’s situational.”
The 51-year-old rapper, however, had a different point of view.
“I could definitely be friends with an ex,” Common said. “I’ve been friends with a lot of exes that I’ve had, and they’ve been long relationships. Because most of them have been pretty good.”
He did admit though that the transition from lovers to friends isn’t an easy process.
“I mean, we go through stuff at the beginning of the breakup,” Common explained, “but then once we come to our grounds, it’s like, we good people, we cool people.”
Common then asked if Kelly has ever stayed with friends with an ex, and she responded with a long sigh before responding, “No.”
“Here’s the thing, I’m not not friends,” Kelly said, who <a href="https://www.justjared.com/2022/03/08/kelly-clarkson-settles-divorce-with-ex-brandon-blackstock-details-revealed/">finalized a messy divorce</a> with ex-husband <a href="https://www.justjared.com/tags/brandon-blackstock/" title="Brandon Blackstock">Brandon Blackstock</a> in 2022.
“I only have a couple that I’m just like ‘hard pass,’” Kelly continued. “A couple of them are cool people, nothing wrong with them. If we ran into each other, we’d be totally friendly. But that’s the difference.”

“This is incredible… I feel like they only changed your nose or something,” Kelly said, to which Sofia looked shocked and responded, “What? Are you crazy?”
“Whatever they did though, it looks slight,” Kelly continued. Sofia responded, “No Kelly, it was hours! Don’t be jealous!”
“It was a wig! Shut up. It was a wig. It was a lot!” Sofia continued. “They did a lot to me! It was teeth. It was wig. It was nose. It was plastic from here to here.”
Kelly saved herself in the end when she explained her view, saying, “What I’m saying is, they did such a good job that it looked seamless and you just looked like a different [person]. Like you literally look like you actually could just be this person in other movies. You could have two careers.”

Right now, Kelly is happy to be single. She explained that she’s open to a relationship but doesn’t want another ring on her finger. 
“I never wanted to get married the first time,” she told People. “[Brandon] had children, a religious background, and it was important, I think, for him. But I’ve never been that person. Because I’ve been through a couple divorces in my family, I just don’t like to put any weight on it. It can happen; it doesn’t have to happen. For my kids, I definitely would never even think about it until they’re out of my house.”
The singer also revealed that she’s not a fan of dating. 
“Dating sucks,” she said. “It’s so awkward. I was single until I was, like, 30, and I forgot how really good at that I am. I told a friend [that a potential partner] would have to be an individual that brings their own life to the table without needing anything from me. It’s far more romantic to say, ‘I want you, but I don’t need anything.’”
Kelly added, “I’m really good right now, I’m having a good time.” She noted that she’s always known that love is “hard” and “not forever.”

“I was very unhappy in L.A. and had been for several years. I needed a fresh start,” Kelly told <a href="https://people.com/kelly-clarkson-explains-how-she-dropped-weight-exclusive-8421462" onclick="getOutboundLink('https://people.com/kelly-clarkson-explains-how-she-dropped-weight-exclusive-8421462'); return false;">People</a>. “We told NBC, ‘I’m not trying to sound ungrateful, I just can’t stay here anymore for my mental health; for me and my kids.’ They weren’t doing well either. For the past few years, I’d just been showing up and smiling and doing what I’m supposed to do, but you can only compartmentalize so long until you break.” NBC eventually agreed to move her <a href="https://www.justjared.com/2023/07/04/kelly-clarkson-talks-future-broadway-plans-amid-move-to-new-york-city/">talk show to NYC</a>, where she’s now residing.
About her weight, she explained how her new living situation has helped with her workouts.
“We [her and her kids] go walk the dogs a few times at the park. We’ll go for ice cream because my daughter will wear me down. We’ll go make slime and we go to the museum,” she told the publication. “Walking in the city is quite the workout. And I’m really into infrared saunas right now. And I just got a cold plunge because everybody wore me down.”
She also spoke to her eating habits, saying, “I eat a healthy mix. I dropped weight because I’ve been listening to my doctor — a couple years I didn’t. And 90 percent of the time I’m really good at it because a protein diet is good for me anyway. I’m a Texas girl, so I like meat — sorry, vegetarians in the world!”

We now know more about that big legal decision in <a href="https://www.justjared.com/tags/kelly-clarkson/" title="Kelly Clarkson">Kelly Clarkson</a>‘s court case against ex husband <a href="https://www.justjared.com/tags/brandon-blackstock/" title="Brandon Blackstock">Brandon Blackstock</a>.
If you don’t remember, last year, legal documents from Kelly stated that when Brandon acted as her manager and booked her gigs on The Voice, Billboard Music Awards, and other ventures, he took fees from her. The California labor commissioner has <a href="https://www.justjared.com/2023/11/30/kelly-clarksons-ex-brandon-blackstock-ordered-to-pay-her-back-millions-in-booking-fees/">ordered Brandon to give back the millions</a> in fees as only agents can get gigs for talent, not managers. In total, he’s been ordered to pay her back $2,641,374.
While testifying about this issue, Kelly was asked about booking The Voice gig. At first, her ex actually allegedly told her she didn’t have the “sex symbol” appeal as “someone sexy” like <a href="https://www.justjared.com/tags/rihanna/" title="Rihanna">Rihanna</a> to book the gig.
Kelly eventually<a href="https://www.justjared.com/2024/01/02/the-voice-spring-2024-2-coaches-leaving-3-returning-2-more-stars-are-joining/"> joined the show</a> – and became an instant fan fave on the competition program.

Kelly also claimed that he said they “had to have someone that was black. … They had to have a diverse thing.”

The 41-year-old Kelly Clarkson Show host got candid on Wednesday (December 20) about her personal life during an interview with guest <a href="https://www.justjared.com/tags/shannen-doherty/" title="Shannen Doherty">Shannen Doherty</a>, who is currently going through a divorce.

“I think I need a little more work on me in a relationship to make sure I take care of myself at the same time as somebody else,” Kelly admitted.
If you didn’t know, Kelly has been divorced from music manager <a href="https://www.justjared.com/tags/brandon-blackstock/" title="Brandon Blackstock">Brandon Blackstock</a> since March 2022.
She added how “hard” divorce can be because “you thought you were going to spend forever with this person,” and revealed she is “still in the stage of really enjoying me.”
She and Shannen also agreed that their dogs provide comfort, and Kelly said they used to not be allowed in the former couple’s bed, “cause it’s for fun… that kinda fun,” she added with a laugh.
“But ever since I’ve been separated now divorced, my dogs have been ruling my bed. I think they would hate the next person who came in,” she continued.
The former couple have two children: daughter <a href="https://www.justjared.com/tags/river-blackstock/" title="River Blackstock">River Rose</a>, 9, and son <a href="https://www.justjared.com/tags/remington-blackstock/" title="Remington Blackstock">Remington “Remy” Alexander</a>, 7.

The 41-year-old entertainer was chatting with <a href="https://www.justjared.com/tags/kenan-thompson/" title="Kenan Thompson">Kenan Thompson</a> and brought up the shower etiquette he talks about in his new book “When I Was Your Age.”
Some of the things she talked about doing in the shower was brushing her teeth, peeing and more.

On brushing, Kelly said, “I don’t regularly brush my teeth in the shower, I just, I do if I’m in a hurry. Now I do happen to be in a hurry often.”
Kenan added that he’s on the opposite side of that, where he finds it to be gross. 
Later, Kelly proposed the question, “Do you pee in the shower?” 
“I would lie if I said I had never done it,” he responded, adding, “But I try not to.”
Kelly then quipped, “I pee almost every time in the shower,” to which Kenan said, “That’s awesome. I’m glad that you’re open enough to say that. That’s great.”
The singer explained, “You can’t help it. It goes back to that childhood sleepover, you know, they put your hand in the hot water, sometimes you pee, ’cause it’s hot water.”
She says she doesn’t do it every time, but, “If I gotta go, yeah… and it’s going down the drain.”

It’s a safe bet that everyone can easily name their favorite female pop star from the golden age of music in the ’00s. But do you also know who is the wealthiest?
Pop music soared to new heights as we moved into a new millennium in 2000, and we were introduced to an entirely new generation of stars. 
Some of the musicians who defined the ’00s started laying a groundwork in the ’90s or even earlier. However, others were just getting started. Many of them are also still churning out amazing content into 2023 and beyond. 
Music is a lucrative career, and that is evident when looking at these musician’s net worths. 
Curious to see just how much these stars have earned? We took a stroll down memory lane and rounded up some of the most prominent names from the ’00s. Based on their estimated net worth, we ranked them from lowest to highest.
What did we learn? Several pop stars of the era are members of the billionaire’s club today, and they’ve all amassed impressive fortunes. However, the top earner still beats out her closest competitor by about $600 million!
