  1462. <p><strong>Mary Kay</strong> died from cancer in 2020, and <strong>Vili</strong> was by her side. </p>
  1463. <p>“I love movies — good movies. And I admire ones that capture the essence and complications of real-life events. You know, movies that allow you to see or realize something new every time you watch them,&#8221; he said.</p>
  1464. <p>“Those kinds of writers and directors — someone who can do that — would be perfect to work with, because my story is not nearly as simple as this movie [portrays],” he went on to say.</p>
  1465. <p>At the Los Angeles premiere in November, the screenwriter said the case was only a “jumping-off point” and <strong>Julianne</strong> said “this is not the story of <strong>Mary Kay Letourneau</strong>,&#8221; <em>THR</em> notes.</p>
  1466. <p><strong>Vili</strong> and <strong>Mary Kay</strong> were married in May of 2005. They separated in 2019.</p>
  1467. <p><strong>Vili</strong> had a third child from a new relationship in 2022. One of his two daughters with <strong>Mary Kay</strong>, <strong>Georgia</strong>, is pregnant, and he will become a grandfather.</p>

  1491. <p>The 33-year-old <em>Riverdale </em>alum shares the screen with <a href="https://www.justjared.com/tags/natalie-portman/" title="Natalie Portman"><strong>Natalie Portman</strong></a> and <a href="https://www.justjared.com/tags/julianne-moore/" title="Julianne Moore"><strong>Julianne Moore</strong></a> in the movie, where he plays a character named Joe. </p>
  1492. <p>The role entailed putting on some weight to gain a certain &#8220;softness.&#8221; Speaking with W Magazine, <strong>Charles </strong>revealed the foods that he added to his diet, including pizza with a surprising topping. </p>
  1493. <p>He also opened up about if his famous costars were fans of his work on <em>Riverdale</em>.</p>

  1495. <p>&#8220;It kind of just gave me this opportunity to eat whatever I wanted,&#8221; <strong>Charles </strong>told the outlet about preparing for the role. &#8220;Joe has this softness to him so trying to figure out how that would look physically and with what that would feel like just informed me eating fast food every day.&#8221; </p>
  1496. <p>What else did he eat? &#8220;I ate a lot of favorite childhood snacks like Gushers and Fruit Rollups and ice cream and pizza with popcorn on it,&#8221; he spilled, joking that it was hard to stop.</p>
  1497. <p>&#8220;I don&#8217;t believe so,&#8221; he said when asked if his costars had seen <em>Riverdale</em> before. </p>
  1498. <p><strong>Charles </strong>added that he didn&#8217;t introduce them to the show, saying that he was &#8220;just in awe of them&#8221; while they were together.</p>

  1546. <p>While there are lots of people who probably understand the meaning of the title immediately, plenty of others are likely clueless to what the term &#8220;May December&#8221; stands for.</p>
  1547. <p>In the movie, a married couple buckles under the pressure when an actress arrives to do research for a film about their past, twenty years after their notorious tabloid romance gripped the nation. The film is loosely based on the true story of <a href="https://www.justjared.com/tags/mary-kay-letourneau/" title="Mary Kay Letourneau"><strong>Mary Kay Letourneau</strong></a>, who had an illegal relationship with a sixth-grade student in the 1990s.</p>

It begins with a Memorial Day celebration and ends with graduation. So all this anxiety and nerves are circulating through that month and it plays into the title as well.&#8221;</p>
