I think it’s the logical step forward. It’s a different chapter, even more diverse while being very cohesive, but you can immediately hear it’s AntropomorphiA.”

Further building on the monstrous sounds of 2017′s Sermon Ov Wrath, Merciless Savagery lives up to its name, attacking with unrepentant ferocity and holding nothing back. Vocalist/guitarist Ferry Damen comments: “‘Sermon Ov Wrath‘ was our most raw and honest statement and an album where we transcended certain genre limitations, capturing the essence of AntropomorphiA, and I would say the new record’s atmosphere is darker, heavier and more punishing, but still has hooky riffs and grooves. I think it’s the logical step forward. It’s a different chapter, even more diverse while being very cohesive, but you can immediately hear it’s AntropomorphiA.”
Prior to Sermon Ov Wrath, Damen never felt that AntropomorphiA‘s music called for female vocals, but this time around, he had the specific intention to bring in someone to add this extra dimension: the track “Luciferian Tempest” features a guest appearance from Farida Lemouchi (The Devil’s Blood, Molasses), bringing a different feel to the song. “I think our fans know what to expect from us, they know our sound and know that we are not that generic extreme metal band,” Damen explains. “We paint with a dark pallet, but we paint with lots of shades of darkness.”

Announces line-up change

Unholy Dutch Death Metallers AntropomorphiA are currently busy in the studio recording their next album‚ Merciless Savagery. The album is being recorded at Aftermath studios and will be produced by drummer Marco Stubbe. Mastering duties will be handed over to infamous Dan Swano in December for a tentative release in spring of 2019!
AntropomorphiA comments: “As we shred closer to the end of the recordings of our 4th full length album, everything feels more pervasive than ever before. While we went through some unsettling dark and overwhelming times during the writing of this album, which is not necessarily something negative in our realm, it gave us the hostile anger and exact perspective to move forward and create this audial landscape. Our origins are weaved within the structure of this album but there was a lot of new ground to be discovered. It’s brutal, it’s dark, it’s hateful, filled with infectious riffs and a ‘fuck you’ to a mostly repetitive scene.”
In other news the band had a line-up change just recently. Bassist Marc van Stiphout has left the band and AntropomorphiA have called Jeroen Pleunis to duty. “Marc parts ways with us with no hardship or ill will. Marc’s follow up is Jeroen Pleunis (ex-Villainy), Jeroen is no stranger to the band and he will bring his talent and raging madness to our fold. As the landscape changes a new era begins, gates will open and spew forth a beast of hellish ferociousness.”

Today, AntropomorphiA has released their latest collection of gospels of the obscene: Sermon ov Wrath. Featuring artwork by 13 Candles Tattoo/Madeleine Hoogkamer, Sermon ov Wrath was once again recorded at drummer Marco Stubbe’s Aftermath Studio, and then mastered by Tore Stjerna at Necromorbus Studio, giving the album a savage, crushing sound. As their most diverse record to-date, Sermon ov Wrath contains a bewitching atmosphere, furious groovy riffs, and merciless brutality – proving that the band is not afraid to experiment within the genre.

Featuring artwork by 13 Candles Tattoo/Madeleine Hoogkamer, Sermon ov Wrath was once again recorded at drummer Marco Stubbe’s Aftermath Studio, and then mastered by Tore Stjerna at Necromorbus Studio, giving the album a savage, crushing sound. All tracks have been re-mastered by Tore Stjerna at Necromorbus for the most eerie listening experience possible. Both the LP and CD versions of Necromantic Love Songs are limited and numbered – they won’t be repressed once they are sold-out! 666 copies of the LP are available (333 in two different editions), and there are only 1000 copies of the CD.
Singer/guitarist Ferry Damen comments: “‘Necromantic Love Songs‘ has been a sonic sepulchral withering that keeps echoing through the years and although it has been 20+ years since we recorded it, till this day people keep asking when we are going to revisit this release. So when Metal Blade gave us the opportunity to let these restless cadavers rise from their burial chamber – and although a lot of stuff got lost or damaged in those years – we checked our vaults and got out everything we could use to make it a worthy re-issue!”

The band comments: “We are proud to announce the visual accompaniment for the gospel ‘Nekrovaginal Secretions’. It’s a visual reference to a macabre love story, erotic rituals and a sexual attraction to the dead.“
“Rites Of Perversion” is the successor to “Evangelivm Nekromantia,”an album that waws followed by prominent festival performances, including appearances at Neurotic Deathfest and Extremefest, and more. Because of the violent and occult nature of the topics in AntropomorphiA‘s music, the album drew the attention of the German authorities, almost resulting in having the album banned completely from the shelves in that country.

Dutch necromantic death metal act, AntropomorphiA, are ready to unleash their new album, “Rites Of Perversion,” upon mankind! “Rites Ov Perversion” is set for release September, 12th on CD and LP in Europe and on September 16 on CD and digitally in North America. In collaboration with Metal Hammer Germany, AntropomorphiA are streaming another track from the album. AntropomorphiA comments on the album: “With ‘Rites ov Perversion’ we created a more organic layered and violent album, we explored within the realm of our musical origin and its atmospheric grimness, but at the same time not limiting ourselves to the sinister beauty of other dimensions. There are songs that have a bleak mid-paced drive and songs that just have primitive skull penetrating riffs…its the definition of this band, where we stand and what we are in this point of time…behold the sway of death!“
“Rites Ov Perversion” is the successor to ‘Evangelivm Nekromantia‘, an album that stirred the attention around the band some more, which resulted in the band doing several performances, including festival appearances at Neurotic Deathfest and Extremefest, etc. Because of the violent and occult nature of the topics AntropomorphiA deal with, it even drew the attention of the German authorities, almost getting the album banned completely from the shelves in that particular country.

Dutch Death Metallers ANTROPOMORPHIA return to madness and announce the successor to the controversial Evangelivm Nekromantia longplayer released in 2012 via Metal Blade Records.
The band comments: “It’s been almost 6 months, of what might have seemed like a deathlike slumber to the outside world, but has been nothing more than a way to focus and prepare for the upcoming storm that we’ve called ‘Rites ov Perversion’. We finished the pre-production just last week and will soon enter the Aftermath studio to record the follow up to our full length debut ‘Evangelivm Nekromantia’. After having released their first ever videoclip for the song Psuchagogia in late 2012, AntropomorphiA return to the front with the second videoclip from the acclaimed album Evangelivm Nekromantia.
The videoclip for the song Debauchery In Putrefaction can be viewed from today on at <a href="https://www.metalblade.com/antropomorphia" target="_blank">THIS</a> location! There you can also the CD and LP of Evangelivm Nekromantia.
With an album banning heading over their heads, the easiest road for the band to proceed with the project of a new videoclip would have been by providing the criticasters with exactly what they want: An overdose of gore balancing in between art and kitsch, stirring things up just the right amount. Instead, the band chose to take a different approach. Opposed to a gore obsessed videoclip, which would have been too easy, it was decided to leave a respectable amount of room for people’s own imagination. Interesting to know what the very same criticasters would make of this in their own minds. AntropomorphiA once again worked with Maurice Swinkels for this videoclip.
Vocalist/guitarist Ferry comments: “‘Evangelivm Nekromantia’ transcends further and represents much more than what critics call a gore based story, so to us the logical continuation to portray that story is one with a more darker view.”
AntropomorphiA will be performing on Neurotic Deathfest 2013 and Extremefest 2013 in May. More live appearances will be announced in given time.

Controversial necromantic Death Metallers ANTROPOMORPHIA have added a second guitar player to their ranks.
Comments the band: “After an extended journey through the mazes of darkness a new fire has been lit to illuminate our ritual masses. We are proud to announce that we’ve welcomed a new member to our nekromantian horde : J. (full name Jos van den Brand) is an experienced guitar player who we know for many years and played in several prestigious Dutch (death) metal acts since the early ’90′s. With J in our presence the preparations have begun to open the portals and to set ablaze every stage that comes on our path/journey.”

In other news ANTROPOMORPHIA have reacted to a letter their label Metal Blade Records received from the German BPJM (“Federal Department for Media Harmful to Young Persons”) that included an indexing request for the band’s latest album Evangelivm Nekromantia. The letter claims the cover artwork of the album as well as the song Fleisch illustrate and address killings and violence in an autotelic way. Furthermore they don’t seem to be too happy about the album title. Through their ridiculous and hypocrite way of thinking they are not letting people use their own intelligence or freedom of choice, this in an era where you turn on the news and see the world’s vile and repulsive excrements in full HD. These people are nothing more than a bunch of pitiful sheep! They might think this ban will be castigation but it will only strengthen us in our opposition towards these sad shallow people that crowd the world with their insignificant lives. To us, it’s the perfect representation of people without perception other than a retarded opinion about an artistic expression.”

New album ‘Evangelivm Nekromantia’ out this Friday!
Dutch death metal cult act AntropomorphiA have collaborated with Rock Hard magazine in Germany for the worldwide exclusive premiere of their first video clip Psuchagogia! Psuchagogia comes off the band’s new album Evangelivm Nekromantia to be released this week Friday on CD and LP! Check out the stirring video clip at <a href="http://www.rockhard.de/megazine/praesentationen/antropomorphia-psuchagogia.html" target="_blank">THIS</a> location!
The clip was directed by renowned video producer Maurice Swinkels and shot on location in Leipzig, Germany. Comments AntropomorphiA singer/guitarist Ferry Damen: “We talked about recording a video for ‘Psuchagögia’ a few months ago and decided to bring in Maurice Swinkels from Younique Film for the visual awakening of this track. I told Maurice some of the ideas I had regarding the ‘storyline’ and he came up with a great location in the eastern part of Germany, which turned out to be perfect for documenting this somewhat disturbingly and dark tale. We shot the video on September 8th and during the shoot we seriously got beneath the horrid surface of the tale we wanted to tell. It’s our first ever video and I can say that we are thrilled about the way it turned out!”

AntropomorphiA was created under the influence from bands such as Hellhammer/Celtic Frost, Infernäl Mäjesty and Bathory in a tiny town in Holland in 1989. Over the years they got more and more brutal, released several demos and the Necromantic Love Songs MCD in 1993, but went on a hiatus in the late 90s since other bands became more important.
Fast forward 2009 when other projects moved into the background, AntropomorphiA got re-activated. The line-up is still the same, original members, F (vox/guitar), M (drums), S (bass) form the trinity that is AntropomorphiA till this day.
In early 2011 AntropomorphiA made their first live appearance since 2001 at the Neurotic Deathfest where they put up a convincing brutal show.
At the end of 2011 most of the new record was recorded and the band is taking their time to make sure this album is something more, something huge, resulting in Evangelivm Nekromantia – an album consisting of nine tracks, divided into three chapters of each three songs. Lyrically driven by nekrophilae, murder, necromancy and necrolesbian lust. Mastered at Necromorbus Studios by Tore Stjerna.

Recently, AntropomorphiA shot a video for Psuchagogia in Leizpig, Germany. The clip was directed by renowned video producer Maurice Swinkels. The video is scheduled to launch within the next week, and until then, fans can head to <a href="https://www.metalblade.com/antropomorphia" target="_blank">www.metalblade.com/antropomorphia</a> and listen to Psuchagogia, as well as pre-order the album. Comments AntropomorphiA singer/guitarist Ferry Damen on the song: “When we were recording vocals we invited our good friend Eclipse (Verbum Verus, ex-Sauron) to add some demented screams of suffering to the track ‘Impure Desecration’. After this track was draped with eternal sickness I started to work on ‘Anointment by Sin’, a track that is part of the second chapter and basically handles about one of the female figures who gets murdered by her religiously obsessed husband who thinks of her and her new born flesh as unpure after she shared some perversive sexual acts with a woman, she believes is the true love of her life. Eclipse really liked this murder tale and added some vocals on this track as well…with crushing result”

AntropomorphiA is legion to Death Metal lunatics of the underground and will infect soon enough all worshippers of classical Death Metal bands such as BOLT THROWER, GRAVE and AUTOPSY as well as newer high class acts as BLOODBATH or HAIL OF BULLETS.
AntropomorphiA was created under the influence from bands such as Hellhammer/Celtic Frost, Infernäl Mäjesty and Bathory in a tiny town in Holland in 1989.
Over the years they got more and more brutal, released several demos and the Necromantic Love Songs MCD in 1993, but went on a hiatus in the late 90s since other bands became more important.
Fast forward 2009 when other projects moved into the background, AntropomorphiA got re-activated. The line-up is still the same, original members, F (vox/guitar), M (drums), S (bass) form the trinity that is AntropomorphiA till this day.
In early 2011 AntropomorphiA made their first live appearance since 2001 at the Neurotic Deathfest where they put up a convincing brutal show.
At the end of 2011 most of the new record was recorded and the band is taking their time to make sure this album is something more, something huge, resulting in Evangelivm Nekromantia – an album consisting of nine tracks, divided into three chapters of each three songs. Lyrically driven by nekrophilae, murder, necromancy and necrolesbian lust. Mastered at Necromorbus Studios by Tore Stjerna.

Evangelivm Nekromantia will be released October, 19th/22nd via Metal Blade Records in Europe on CD and LP and on digitally in North America on October 23rd.
