  119. <p>“It was great, we had a progress call every week with John Hardwick the FRS Product Manager, he is a mine of information, always on hand to answer any questions we had however small they may have been.”</p>

  179. <p>“We had a website, but it was incredibly basic, not transactional, and lacked real-time stock links. We knew we needed to evolve, we wanted a better web presence and a fully transactional website, but to get there, first we needed to change our back-office systems.”</p>
  180. <p>Lenleys previously used multiple systems for stock, orders, accounts, etc. “we needed to consolidate into one main system to drive all aspects of the business to achieve our goal of being a modern business delivering great customer experience”.</p>

  190. <p>“It is never easy to make large-scale transformations and get everyone on board. Now we have the transformational software in place, the team is embracing the new ways of working and seeing a huge improvement in customer experience day-to-day.”</p>

  364. <p>We spoke to Matt Parsley, IT &amp; Web Operations Manager at Chepstow, Iron Acton and Norton Garden Centres, about driving customer loyalty and the retail technology behind it.</p>

  366. <h3>Why did you choose SRS, Cygnus, SwanPay and online loyalty?</h3>
  367. <p>‘We shopped around but, ultimately, decided that Swan ticked all our boxes. We already had a strong relationship with the Swan team and liked working with them. So, we implemented <a href="/swan-retail-system/">SRS</a> and <a href="/epos/">Cygnus EPOS</a> – they both worked really well for us.</p>
  368. <p>‘Then lockdown hit, and we were reliant on ecommerce. Ours was with a third party at the time and needed an update. Again, we explored all our options, but we wanted a website that talked to our EPOS to help streamline operations. By November 2020, we had launched three websites integrated with our EPOS and retail system thanks to Swan.</p>

We achieved this by using Cygnus and <a href="/payments/">SwanPay</a> on tablet devices. There were teething problems at the start, but it is a great package of solutions that work well together to give our customers a better experience.</p>
  370. <p>‘Most recently, we worked with Swan to implement loyalty and promotion developments online. Members of our Gardener’s Club can now log into their account online to see balances, find exclusive offers, earn points and spend rewards. We can now handle fixed price promotions, percentage discounts and multi-buy offers online and in-store, all integrated within SRS back office and websites.</p>

  374. <h3>How was your experience of the process, the training and the software?</h3>
  375. <p>‘Swan’s solutions are very easy to run and navigate. If you are good with computers, you&#8217;ll be able to pick it all up easily.</p>
  376. <p>‘Initially, we got all the information and had all the training we needed on the software. After that point, we had time to explore on our own. The release notes and patch notes are useful for understanding new developments and the extensive reports available within SRS.</p>

  383. <p>‘Customers now manage their own accounts meaning we save admin time. Everyone can see their points, card numbers and anything else they need to know straight away online. It helps us offer the in-store service online.</p>

  467. <p>We caught up with Ian Yeatman, Head of Retail Operations at Silvermere Golf, who commented on their journey with Swan.</p>

  469. <h3>Why did you choose Swan and our solutions?</h3>
  470. <p>“It was within our set budget and felt like a good cultural fit. It was to do with the feel we got about the business on the initial sales calls. We felt as though the sale mattered to them and we wouldn’t be another client number on the list.</p>
  471. <p>“In particular though, we liked the fact we could see a path to being fully integrated with the bonus of a customer loyalty app.”</p>

  473. <h3>How was your experience switching to Swan?</h3>
  474. <p>“We felt, as a business, we would have benefitted more to have had all the training information for the system in a few days rather than spread over time. However, the account manager was fantastic and helped to keep the project moving and allowed us to go live on our target date.”</p>

  479. <p>Ian explained; “the past 18 months have had some challenges but, overall, we have moved forward from where we were prior to Swan. We are not yet fully integrated online, but our custom fit ordering processes using the Swan Customer Ordering App is operating well and has allowed for efficiencies within the business. The introduction of the FUSE Customer Loyalty App has improved our customer experience and, again, led to greater efficiencies in retail operations.”</p>

  481. <h3>What does working with Swan mean for the future of Silvermere?</h3>
  482. <p>“Our previous system was solid but had no room for growth. We believe that working with Swan, we can continue to help improve the SRS and Cygnus platforms which, in turn, will benefit our business.”</p>
  483. <p>Tanya added; “We ensure to listen and understand our clients own internal processes and ways of working, allowing us to then explain and demonstrate effective ways for them to be able to use SRS. There are occasions when scope is slightly more than what the current product delivers, and this is where we can develop and introduce new efficiencies into the products which are beneficial to both the existing end users and the product range as a whole.”</p>
