press the “back button”.</p> <p>Even when reading a tutorial piece for development, I will look for either a step-by-step process or prefer video instruction over text content.</p> <p><a So I am going to enjoy the post when it’s divided into meaningful sections. These sections should have bite-sized chunks I can easily digest.</p> <p>You will likely read an opinion-type post such as this one. WordPress site lets me do what other hosted platforms don’t want to do (such as ads). WP editor is a pleasure to work with.</li> <li>I want to be able to sell this site if I ever wish to. WP is a transferable asset.</li></ul> <p>So now that you know the reasons for me to pick WP, let me tell you my process on getting back to it again:</p> <span id="more-9438"></span> <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Why I am back to blogging in this again?</h2> <p>This year in 2024, I want to start building online businesses. As I work on various ideas, I want to document my findings here on BlogKori.</p> <p>Few days ago I went to visit a friend and a long time reader Rubel SBS. He told me the story of how he got a Payoneer card after reading my blog post. After he posted about this on his Facebook profile, a bunch of people chimed in the comments and shared how they also read my blog. I have to abide by their terms of condition.</li> <li>Hashnode is mainly a developer’s platform. I am blogging for the digital marketers now.</li> <li>Writing experience on WP is better than Hashnode. Hashnode is good for writing technical articles in Markdown syntax.</li> <li>Hashnode lacks themes. They have a set of themes. Compare that to WordPress, I have unlimited possibilities on what my blog will look like.</li></ul> <p>The domain name blogkori.com was on CloudFlare registrar, the cheapest domain rates right now. Unfortunaly, cloudflare does not allow you to change name servers. That means if you have a hosting account in BlueHost or others, you won’t be able to add the bluehost nameservers. I tried adding NS records but it didn’t work.</p> <p>So the solution was to transfer my domain again to namecheap. BlogKori.com domain name was originally registered on NameCheap. A fellow patreon, Mushfiq from Gamers World Bangladesh was generous enough to register the domain name for me in 2008.</p> <p>I transferred the domain name again to namecheap and this time set the new hosting nameservers.</p> <p>My hosting account already had a WordPress site setup so all I did was to change the themes and do some cleanup.</p> <h2 class="wp-block-heading">I drafted all my old blog posts</h2> <p>Since 2008, I have published more than 300 blog posts. Most of these posts are junk and irrelevant today. So few years ago I deleted, updated, and merged a lot of them. I was left with 30 or so posts. I will write this blog in English and occasionally I may post Bangla videos.</p> <p>The blog tagline is simple: <strong><em>digital business experiments of Tamal Anwar Chowdhury</em></strong>. I am going to make some new online biz experiments and share what I find. BlogKori is my project in 2024, and I want to build some passive income streams using the internet.</p> <h2 class="wp-block-heading">So who am I writing for?</h2> <p>As I am now living in Bangladesh, I am writing this blog for mostly Bangladeshi people. But if you can read English, then I welcome you to join this journey. As I publish a new post, I will share the link to my Facebook profile. I am documenting my journey of my projects. BlogKori is my first project, so I will post the process of setting things up on this blog, and how it went. Expect words, my thought process, results, and screenshots.</p> <p>Previously, my blog was a guide on “how to blog”, but now it’s not. This blog is going to document my journey, and it will act as a means to educate, entertain, and inspire you.</p> <p>As I type out this article on the WP editor, it’s been 58 minutes since I started writing. It takes me roughly an hour to draft an article. In the next posts, I wish to say more with fewer words. So don’t expect me to write 1,000+ word long posts.
