  2. 086 students. This was disclosed by the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Lawan
  3. Sani Taura, MNAMP during the Matriculation Ceremony of the newly
  4. admitted undergraduate students of the University for the 2020/2021
  5. Academic Session on Wednesday 18th August, 2021.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt; According to the
  6. Vice-Chancellor, a total of 1,086 candidates were admitted through
  7. Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and Direct Entry into
  8. the three Faculties of the University, out of which Faculty of Education
  9. has 301 students, Faculty of Humanities 386 and Faculty of Natural and
  10. Applied Sciences 402 students. Out of the 1,086 students admitted 1, 086
  11. were fully registered.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt; The Vice-Chancellor maintained that, the
  12. ceremony was to initiate the 1, 086 students registered as full-pledged
  13. members of the SLU Academic Community, affirming that they have joined
  14. the community of dedicated teachers, scholars and researchers whose
  15. objective was to learn, create and disseminate new knowledge for the
  16. betterment of humanity. Professor Taura then, enjoined the students to
  17. take maximum advantage of their entry into the University to develop
  18. themselves in terms of character and learning, in order to become
  19. productive and useful members of the society.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt; While restating the
  20. University’s commitment towards ensuring a conducive teaching and
  21. learning and research environment, the Vice-Chancellor disclosed that,
  22. the University and the Faculty Libraries were fully stocked with
  23. research materials in both hard and soft copies for use by the students
  24. and therefore advised them to make the best use of their stay in the
  25. University in order to make their future worthwhile, prosperous and
  26. become good citizens for their personal development and that of Jigawa
  27. State, the country and humanity at large.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt; The Matriculation Oath
  28. was administered by the Registrar of the University and the occasion
  29. well attended by all the Senate Members of the University including the
  30. Jigawa State Joint Admissions and Matriculations Board (JAMB)
