39.

Opening corporate bank accounts in the UAE or the United Arab Emirates, and around the world has become increasingly difficult due to increasingly difficult requirements. There have been a series of scandals in offshore banking that have led regulators to crack down on banking compliance and create stricter guidelines. This means opening and maintaining a foreign business account has never been more challenging. In this article, we’ll go over why this has become so tough, and give you a guide on how to do corporate banking in Dubai right, avoiding costly fees, time wasted, and company failure.

 40.
What’s Changed About Corporate Bank Account In Dubai

 41.
In the past, you could open a corporate bank account while using a co working space or a flexible desk space. They used to be more relaxed about time spent and numbers of visits to UAE regarding your corporation. However, now because of the increased regulations, you are required to rent an un-shared office space and maintain a permanent residence. Banks are now considering the applicant’s time spent in the UAE, and asking for documentation to prove that the corporation is truly being run out of the UAE. They want to be sure a business is in fact run out of the UAE and isn’t just opening the corporation for tax avoidance.

 42.
What Happens When Your Company Doesn’t Meet Regulations

 43.
Working with the wrong business consultant can hurt companies at the very beginning of their setup. These companies don’t even get the chance to start, as when the setup is incorrect, or they are founded in a Free Zone, it makes banks unlikely to work with them. Banks require an understanding of the company’s activities and verification to process their banking application and decide to go ahead working with a new company. Many newly founded companies in the UAE fail because the wrong licenses were chosen in the beginning stages of setup and/or they have multiple shareholders.

 44.

45. What Works

 46.
One of the only options now to ensure that your company can not only be founded but can avoid regulation crackdowns is opening a permanent office called a Business Ejari. While some UAE business consultants can help, one must be sure that they’re working with the right person, as some just want to quickly find your company, and not walk their clients through the ins and outs of regulations requirements and the UAE standards for corporate banking.

 47.
Before a company applies to a respective bank, they should utilize a business consultant who can check with the bank to find if their company has the desired activity and correct setup. This avoids being denied from banking activities and therefore avoids a company failing before it’s had the chance to begin. Alexander Erber is a highly experienced global optimizer, strategist, and finance consultant that companies trust, as he’s proven successful in helping newly founded corporations find banking partners in Dubai.

 48.

 49.
How Corporations Can Successfully Bank In Dubai

 50.
European and international corporations need to partner with a bank that will accept Cross Border Payments, as opposed to only allowing payment with the AED or the United Arab Emirates dirham. Many banks don’t want corporations to use any other form of currency until three to six months into their partnership. This is because few banks in Dubai are suited for international banking, and many are singularly focused on Islamic banking. Below are two ways a company can get a corporate bank account in Dubai.

 51.
Option 1: Deposit The Banks Minimum Balance
52. Companies can deposit a minimum balance of 21.000 AED – 250.000 AED. Although all banks vary slightly, Companies should be careful not to allow their balance to drop below 21,000 AED or they’ll be liable for a costly fee.

 53.
Option 2: Purchase Bank Products
54. When a corporation has no connection to or with a bank, purchasing bank products allows for them to build trust through entering into a business relationship. Once you have a business relationship with the bank it’s easier to get a Corporate Bank Account, which is the more popular and helpful option for newly founded companies trying to do business out of the UAE.

 55.

 56.
Corporate Banking Explained

 57.
Wealthy customers, with higher net worth and who can make larger deposits can invest in the products of the bank. This is the easiest and most surefire way to get a bank account, but it costs companies an investment of AED 150,000 or higher. However, just because one can make the minimum deposit, they still need to have a working home address for the UAE, a coherent license, a business within a sustainable field, and a permanent office address- meaning not co working space and not a flexible desk. It helps greatly if you have a business partner who also lives in the UAE, and runs their side of the corporation out of the UAE.

 58.
For individuals with a lower net worth, they’ll need to meet the same requirements, but can deposit a lower amount, either AED 50,000 – AED 150,000 always at a minimum of there minimum balance. Wealthy customers have an easier time, but customers with a smaller budget can still find banking solutions, they just may need more collateral at their desired bank.

 59.
Why Location Matters

 60.
When opening your company in Dubai, one must choose Mainland Company on their company application. Most banks are now refusing to work with any corporation from a free zone, and when they make an exception, they require an Ejari and business address. It’s far easier for entrepreneurs to get an account when they opt for a Mainland Company, as opposed to a free zone, although some of it is dependent on the activity of the company.

 61.
How Global Success Consulting Can Help

 62.
Without the right bank, it’s nearly impossible to keep a corporation afloat in the UAE, and Working with Global Success Consulting has helped many entrepreneurs meet the requirements of the banks as they have in-depth knowledge of each bank’s specifics. GSC has helped many companies find the internal bank that’s most suitable for their field of work so that they can find long-term success through a solid relationship with the right bank.

 63.
GSC helps its clients with the extensive setup of banking in the UAE, and has proven to be more successful than 98% of its competitors. Although working with GSC comes at a price for newly founded companies, it’s worth the investment to ensure that your corporation doesn’t fail before it begins. Banking setup is not the place to save when immigrating or starting a company in Dubai, it’s the singular most important insurance of a company’s success. Proper company setup means having a proper bank account, and with GSC you can be advised on the pitfalls that so many corporations fall into.

 64.
Startups require capital, and without the right banking setup, a company cannot succeed in Dubai, so don’t take this step on your own. Work with a professional at Global Success Consulting who deals with the banks and knows them on a personal level. They understand their requirements and know how to meet each one’s unique conditions so that your company can find permanent success in the UAE.

 76.

If you want to immigrate to the UAE or the United Arab Emirates, you’ll need to understand the cost of living in Dubai vs the US and other foreign countries. Whether you are an entrepreneur looking to start a new company or looking to find increased success within your field of expertise or the global job market in general, Dubai can be a great place to live and do business. In this article, we’ll go over the expenses associated with living in Dubai, what it’s like to live there, and how the government is trying to mitigate the rising costs of living. Dubai is attractive as a country to immigrate to and a great option for ex-pats looking for growth in their personal, business, and financial lives.

 77.
Is Living In Dubai Expensive? A Cost Comparison

 78.
Cost of living refers to the living expenses necessary to survive. These don’t include any recreational spending, only food, travel, clothing, and healthcare. When you compare the cost of living in Dubai with the US and other foreign countries, Dubai is one of the most affordable places to live. Consider first, the cost of living in London, a city known for its elite business practices, and its high cost of living for a single person before rent. They have a monthly cost of living of around $1,180 (USD), whereas, in Dubai, the cost of living is between $938 to $946. In the US, New York offers a sky-high cost of living at $1,364.87. Although a few hundred dollars a month may not seem like much, when you consider the differences in rent costs, this amount quickly adds up and affects the overall quality of life.

 79.

 80.
Residential Cost In Dubai Compared

 81.
The difference in cost between Dubai and London is more than a thousand dollars, and in comparison with New York in the United States, it’s almost two thousand. So to live in Dubai as compared to NY or London, ex-pats could save anywhere from two to three thousand dollars a month. This is all aside from the fact that those that choose to immigrate to the UAE see increased business opportunities and increased money-making opportunities. Your residential costs in Dubai are greatly dependent on where you want to live, and where you intend to do business. Many ex-pats opt to live in The Jumeirah Lakes Tower community, as it has the nearby amenities helpful for newly immigrated businessmen and women and access to a variety of industries.

 82.

 83.
Cost Of Education

 84.
If you’re immigrating with a family, you’ll want to know what to expect for education costs in Dubai. Although ex-pat children are allowed to attend both public and private schools, there’s no way to avoid paying a fee. The public school system in Dubai will cost ex-pats 1,635 USD per year, but most families choose to put their children in private schools as they are far superior. International schools, the likes of which are often sought after by ex-pats, are not nearly as expensive as those in the US, costing only 3,710–5,830 USD per year. Considering that London and other European countries cost families more than 10,000 USD per year, Dubai makes for a substantially smart financial choice for families.

 85.

 86.
But Is Dubai A Good Place to Live?

 87.
It’s clear that Dubai offers ex-pats a lower cost of living, better rate for education, and lower cost of housing, but how is living in Dubai? According to a recent study done by researchers at Resonance Consultancy, the UAE was ranked 9th in the world due to its high quality of life for residents and amazing environment. Part of what makes Dubai so attractive is its ever-changing landscape and dedication to new and interesting activities. From indoor shopping malls- the likes of which you can’t see anywhere else, to their expansive nightlife and landmark lookouts as seen from the tallest building in the world, residents love living in Dubai. More importantly, however, is Dubai’s low crime rates, clean neighborhood, and weather, as these aspects affect ex-pats’ ability to live safely and happily in a new country.

 88.

 89.
How Regulations Have Fought The Rising Cost of Living In Dubai

 90.
The cost of living in Dubai has grown greatly in the last ten years, the regulations of the UAE have helped to lessen the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic and also lowered the cost of living. The UAE’s dedication to making Dubai attractive for entrepreneurs and talent in the business world has also lowered costs. These efforts have not only made Dubai wrought with business opportunities but filled with leaders of industry who are looking for entrepreneurial talent and innovative new ideas but kept the price of Dubai low for ex-pats. The government of the UAE values the entrepreneurial spirit, and this has been made possible through their extended visa and funding that supports small businesses. They have an environment that allows for growth in a variety of industries and makes for an attractive location for businesses to be founded.

 91.
If You’ve Decided On Dubai

 92.
If you are an ex-pat entrepreneur looking to expand your business and create a better life for yourself and your family, you’ll need help with the set up of your new life and founding of business. Specifically, if one needs assistance in trying to form new relationships with UAE banks, working with a consulting firm is key. Many Dubai immigrants who are trying to set up their corporation in Dubai are met with difficulty because they don’t understand the difference between free zones and the Mainland Company. As both running a business and day-to-day life require capital, you’ll need to create a successful relationship with a bank. Many banks won’t work with those who’ve set up their companies in free zones, a fact many ex-pats are unaware of.

 93.
Global Success Consulting is a top-tier financial management and businesses consulting firm that helps ex-pats create new companies in a landscape they may not understand fully. To avoid costly mistakes, wasted time, or worse case scenarios like denial from banks, work with Global Success Consulting so that you can enjoy all that Dubai has to offer.

 105.

Thinking of moving to a country with no income tax? You’re not alone – no one enjoys paying a large percentage of their wage in income tax, especially when you have no control over how and where it’s spent.
106. While a good accountant can minimize the amount of tax you pay, if your country has income tax to pay, you’ll be paying it. In countries like the UK, Germany, and Denmark, that can be up to 45%. That’s a tough pill to swallow.
107. However, there is a way that many (particularly high earners, who are literally taxed for their high achievement) choose to reduce their tax burden – relocate. By no means do all countries charge their residents income tax. Being domiciled in a state that doesn’t charge income tax can mean that more of your salary is under your control.

 108.
What countries have no income tax?

 109.
There are currently 23 countries in the world that don’t require residents to pay income tax. If you have decided that relocation is the best next step for you, you will need to choose which of these states is most suitable – not just for financial reasons but also where you would like to live.
110. It is more difficult to obtain a residence permit in some countries than others, and some have their own particular difficulties – some countries that have no income tax can be dangerous and some have extremely strict rules around who can and can’t live there, so you’ll need to consider what quality of life you want.

 111.
Here’s a list of the countries you should avoid due to crime or a failing economy, take too long to gain permanent residency in, or are simply too difficult to move to:

 112.

 113.
Bahrain

 114.
British Virgin Islands

 115.
Brunei

 116.
Kuwait

 117.
Maldives

 118.
Nauru

 119.
Norfolk Island

 120.
Pitcairn

 121.
Oman

 122.
Qatar

 123.
Saint Barthelemy

 124.
Saint Kitts and Nevis

 125.
Somalia

 126.
Turks and Caicos Islands

 127.
Vatican City

 128.
Wallis and Futuna

 129.
Western Sahara

 130.

 131.

 132.
6 Most Popular Countries Without Income Tax

 133.
The Bahamas

 134.
The income of the Bahamas is largely derived from tourism and financial services. Obtaining citizenship is straightforward if you have the time and cash available, but the good news is you don’t have to become a citizen to benefit from an income tax-free life.
135. To qualify, you’ll need to live there for 90 days and not spend more than 183 days in another country. For permanent residency, you’ll need to purchase a (fully constructed) residence – those spending more than $750,000 BSD will get “speedy consideration,” though there are other ways, too.
136. The Bahamas enjoys a lower cost of living, good infrastructure, and a good range of services. Most people living in the Bahamas choose to go to their home country or to the US for medical treatment.

 137.
Bermuda

 138.
Bermuda is a more popular choice than the Bahamas since it’s more developed and enjoys significantly lower crime rates, but that does, of course, come at a cost. Bermuda has a high cost of living, largely due to its isolation. However, if you see yourself in the Caribbean, Bermuda will offer you beautiful beaches, fine dining, and exquisite scenery to explore.
139. Note that there is a payroll tax, which is about 6%. However, income from investments and even rental income is not taxed.

 140.
Cayman Islands

 141.
Tourism replaces oil as the mainstay of the Cayman Islands economy, enabling it to leave its inhabitants free of income tax. Aside from the beautiful climate, the standard of living is one of the highest in the world, making the Cayman Islands a popular choice for many seeking a tax-free life.

 142.
The Cayman Islands have no corporation tax, income tax, property tax, capital gains tax, payroll tax, or anything else – it’s a true tax haven.

 143.
Becoming a citizen is not hard, though you do need to have resided there for a minimum of 8 years. You are also required to have an annual income of at least $145,000 and an investment of $600,000 in real estate. There is an application charge and an income-based annual fee of up to $15,000.

 144.
Monaco

 145.
The Principality of Monaco has long been a financial center and, unsurprisingly, its residents enjoy a high standard of living. With beautiful scenery, the Monaco Grand Prix, and easy access to popular European countries, it’s easy to see why it has become so popular.
146. However, becoming a Monaco resident is costly, but it is fast. You can gain a legal residence permit by depositing more than 500,000 euros in a local bank, and owning or renting a home there. You should also be aware that companies that obtain over 25% of their profits outside Monaco (which is a small, city-state) face a 33% tax levy.

 147.
United Arab Emirates

 148.
Although the wealth of the UAE originally derived from oil and natural gas, it has successfully diversified its economy with the service sector and industry contributing half of the UAE’s GDP. Residents enjoy a high standard of living and the UAE is largely welcoming to foreign nationals.
149. Via the Kafala sponsorship program, individuals can receive sponsorship from a local business or resident and receive a visa, though this needs to be renewed regularly. Generally speaking, it is easier to gain residency in the UAE than in other Gulf countries.
150. The UAE offers plenty of luxury experiences, entertainment, and many people speak English, especially in cities like Dubai.
151. You can get a 10-year UAE residence visa if you’re an investor, willing to make a public investment of at least AED10 million. This can be to a local investment fund, forming a business in the UAE with capital of AED10 million, or a total of at least AED10 million across both options. The only condition is that you cannot invest more than 40% in real estate, the remainder must be elsewhere.

 152.
Vanuatu

 153.
Set in the South Pacific, Vanuatu is a country reliant on tourism and financial services for its income, though this is bolstered by agriculture. Gaining citizenship is relatively easy – around $145,000 for an individual and $195,000 for a family of four.
154. Vanuatu is a beautiful island near Fiji. It’s a good choice if you do most of your business in Australia, New Zealand, and South East Asia, but flights back and forth from Europe and the US will get old fast – it takes about 17.5 hours to fly from New York.

 155.

 156.
Why Choose the UAE?

 157.
If you read through the above list, the UAE is the one that ticks the most boxes – a strong, diverse economy, a high standard of living, a straightforward application process, and no income tax. It is also a safe and tolerant country that openly welcomes foreign residents, and is in a central location. While the visas have a maximum of 10 years, they can be renewed.

 158.
But what about corporate tax?

 159.
If you are an entrepreneur, is the UAE a good fit for businesses? The short answer is – yes. Although the UAE announced recently that it was introducing a 9% corporate tax for Mainland companies beginning in June 2023, it is still one of the best countries in which to found a company. Companies in Free Zones remain exempt from taxation.

 160.
As the world becomes less dependent on fossil fuels, so the governments of oil and natural gas-rich countries need to build for the future by diversification and a cautious introduction of taxation. Back in 2016, the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) decided that all states should impose VAT. The UAE, along with Saudi Arabia, was the first to do so, in 2018. Although the UAE set this at just 5%, it has generated an estimated $26 billion up to now.

 161.
Similarly, in 2021, the UAE, along with over 100 other countries, agreed to put in place a corporate tax of at least 15%. This was an effort to ensure that the global big corporate players pay their share of tax and help bolster the global economy. The UAE agreed as they see corporate tax as an aid to enlarge the country’s income streams but believe their move to a 9% tax will help them keep their competitive edge. By comparison, other countries that use low taxation as a means to boost investment set the charges rather higher. Singapore, for example, levies a 17% tax.

 162.
The UAE’s 9% is also the lowest among the six nations that make up the GCC (though Bahrain has not yet introduced a corporate tax). The move should improve corporate governance and help provide a boost to the broad economic outlook.
163. Moreover, the tax is only for profits above Dh375,000 (just over $100,000) dollars, so there will be little effect on nascent companies. It also doesn’t apply to profit generated from real estate – the government obviously sees this as an important sector going forward.

 164.
Individuals still enjoy a tax-free income

 165.
The new corporate tax has no direct impact on the individual – there will still be no income tax – though it may cause businesses to change the employment packages they offer if they wish to maintain the dividends offered to shareholders.

 184.
Do you look forward to paying your taxes? That’s a question that would make most of us laugh out loud. While we all know what taxes are for, we don’t enjoy paying them, and often, we don’t know or don’t agree with where our money is going.
185. While taxes on some level are unavoidable, you can take steps to minimize the amount of tax you pay. One of those things you can do is to form your company in a country with a more favorable tax system.
186. One of the best countries to form a company in is the UAE, and so there’s no better place to form a new company than in Dubai.

 187.

 188.
Do you have to move to Dubai to form a company there?

 189.
You don’t need to be a permanent resident, but you will likely need to spend some time in the UAE each year, and so most people choose Dubai, for reasons we will look at momentarily. The visa you choose will dictate how many days a year you can spend here.

 190.

 191.
Why Dubai & the UAE?

 192.
The Big Picture

 193.
Dubai is famous for its ultra-modern buildings, thriving economy, and purposeful design. The city benefits from many green spaces and a higher quality of life than most other cities. Most people in Dubai speak English, so you won’t need to master Arabic just to get by.
194. Dubai is home to largely high-net-worth individuals, so you’ll be surrounded by wealth and people who conduct themselves (and business) in a certain way. You won’t see homeless people on the streets and crime rates are extremely low compared to other major cities.
195. The UAE’s rise to financial success has made it a big player on the international stage. As a country, its political system is stable without any extremist views that would make it an undesirable place for a foreigner to reside and trade.

 196.

 197.
Business-Friendly

 198.
The government here is looking to welcome in more outside investment, and so they’re currently very welcoming to foreign businesses and business people looking to start a business in the UAE. They make it easy to set up, move, and live here. They allow 100% foreign ownership of many types of businesses here in over 13 sectors, including logistics, hospitality, manufacturing, and renewable energy. You can set up a new business in just days.

 199.

 200.
Easy to Become a Resident

 201.
It’s easy to become a permanent resident in Dubai, with the average cost per person of between $10,000 – $14,000 (USD). It’s easy to set up a bank account (for both individuals and businesses).

 202.

 203.
Wealth-Friendly

 204.
Because so many people living in Dubai have a high net worth, banks are used to dealing with large sums and will move money quickly and easily, even internationally. The businesses in Dubai are largely focused on making life easier for you and other wealthy clients.

 205.

 206.
Low Tax

 207.
We’ll look at the specifics of taxes in the UAE momentarily, but one of the biggest draws to Dubai is the UAE’s reasonable tax rates. You are free to retain most (if not all) of the money you make in the UAE, and the government is focused on strengthening the economy more than taxing companies for doing so. You don’t pay personal tax on income from any source.

 208.

 209.
How much corporation tax do you pay in the UAE?

 210.
Currently, none – the current corporation tax rate is 0%. That said, the rate is set to rise to a reasonable 9% for businesses with income exceeding 375,000 UAE dirhams (around $102,000 USD) on June 1, 2023. This move is to strengthen the economy and help the country move away from its reliance on its hydrocarbon revenue.

 211.

 212.
How much income tax do you pay in the UAE?

 213.
If you spend more than 6 months of the year in the UAE, you’re considered a tax resident. The good news is, however, that the income tax rate in the UAE is 0%, and that isn’t going to change any time soon. The only income that is taxed is rental income, though this is minimal. There’s also council tax to pay (called property tax in the US).

 214.

 215.
So I won’t need to pay any tax for my business in Dubai?

 216.
No – at least, you won’t until June 1, 2023. However, there are some circumstances where there will be a tax to pay – just not a corporation tax. Here are the other circumstances where a business may be taxed in the UAE:

 217.

 218.
All foreign banks are subject to a 20% corporation tax

 219.
All oil businesses are subject to 20% corporation tax

 220.
VAT – Dubai has a 5% VAT (like sales tax in the US)

 221.
Import duties on products that are frowned upon in Islam (such as tobacco, alcohol, and arms)

 222.

 223.
Note that working with a tax advisor in Dubai will help you to minimize any VAT you need to pay.

 224.

 225.
What are the legal structures for businesses in the UAE?

 226.

 227.
Sole proprietorship – This is the same as it is in most other countries in the world; a company owned by one person. You can create a sole proprietorship in the UAE no matter what nationality you are, but there are some restrictions around what type of business you have if you aren’t a UAE or GCC national.

 228.
Civil company – Accountants, doctors, and lawyers can form a civil company, but 51% or more shares in the company must be owned by a UAE national.

 229.
LLC (Limited Liability Company) – An LLC in the UAE works much the same way as it does in the US, but there must be at least 2 shareholders, with 51% of the company owned by a UAE national.

 230.
Foreign Company Branch – If your parent company is in another country, you can open a branch in the UAE, without any ownership needed by a UAE national. You must import goods through a local company.

 231.
Free Zone Company – These businesses need 2-5 stakeholders and do not need a designated location within the UAE. There are 45 free zones in the UAE, with several in Dubai. Once you have a Free Zone company, you can apply for a 3-year residence visa which will allow you to come and go as you please.

 232.
Free Zone Freelancer – If you want to work in Dubai but do not have 2-5 stakeholders with you, you can apply as a Freelancer within one of the free zones.

 233.

 234.
How to Set Up a Business in Dubai

 235.
You can set up any kind of business outlined above, provided you have the right partners and circumstances, but most people looking to take advantage of Dubai’s tax system will choose to set up a free zone company. For that reason, we’ll focus on the steps for how to set up a business as a foreigner in Dubai within a free zone.

 236.

 237.
Step 1: Choose Your Business Activity

 238.
This step is straightforward – you simply need to define which of the following categories your business’s activity will (or does) fall into:

 239.

 240.
Commercial

 241.
Agricultural

 242.
Professional

 243.
Craftsmanship

 244.
Industrial

 245.
Tourism

 246.

 247.
Step 2: Choose a Free Zone

 248.
Your next step is to choose a free zone. There are over 20 free zones in Dubai alone, so it’s up to you to choose a free zone that best suits your business and lifestyle. You can find a list of the possible free zones and a bit about them here, but you can also reach out to me and I’d be happy to advise you.

 249.

 250.
Step 3: Choose Your Company Name

 251.
The only restrictions here are you cannot name your company with any political or religious references, and if your company is named after someone, they must be a current partner or shareholder in the company, and it cannot use their initials.

 252.

 253.
Step 4: Apply for Your Business License

 254.
With the major decisions taken care of, you can make your application. Each type of license has its own requirements, so it’s well worth working with a consultant to guide you on each step of the application process. If you need guidance, please don’t hesitate to reach out.

 255.
Most applications require the following documents:

 256.

 257.
Color copies of passports of all shareholders

 258.
Visa information of shareholders (see step 5)

 259.
A business plan

 260.
Application form

 261.
Board resolution

 262.
Articles of association

 263.
A memorandum

 264.

 265.
Step 5: Apply for Your Visa

 266.
You should start your visa application at the same time you put in your business application. This is a straightforward process that looks something like this:

 267.

 268.
Get an entry permit

 269.
Apply for an adjustment of status as a resident of Dubai

 270.
Undergo a medical check

 271.
Register an Emirates ID

 272.
Get your visa

 273.

 274.
Step 6: Open a Business Bank Account

 275.
Opening bank accounts in Dubai is easy, but there are a few more steps to open a corporate account than a personal account. Most banks have eligibility requirements and will ask for the following documentation when you apply:

 276.

 277.
Proof of business license

 278.
Business incorporation documents

 279.
Copies of share certificates

 280.
A resolution from the company’s board about opening the account

 281.
Copies of passports of partners

 282.
Copy of the articles of association

 283.
Copy of the memorandum

 284.

 285.
Step 7: Enjoy Your New (Largely Tax-Free) Dubai Lifestyle

 286.
Once you’ve got your business, your visa, and your bank accounts, you’re ready to start enjoying life and business out here in Dubai.

 287.
Time to make a move?

 288.
If you’re ready to start life as an entrepreneur or want to move your business activities to a country where you’ll lose less of your hard-earned profits in taxes, you’ll be hard-pressed to find a better city than Dubai.
289. Making a move as big as this one can be stressful, so get a consultant on your side to guide and support you through the process so you can launch your business quickly and start reaping the rewards of Dubai’s lower tax rates.
306.

Setting up a business as an ex-pat in Dubai has its special stipulations that are important to know in order to make the business expansion and establishment process easier. The implementation of free zone business setup in the UAE offers foreigners a simpler path to business ownership that also includes support and benefits from the UAE government. The following is an overview of the free zone company process and how foreigners can use this information to expand and/or create a business.

 307.
What is a Free Zone Company?

 308.
A free zone company is essentially a business that is built in one of the free zone areas in Dubai. These zones allow companies to operate with tax exemptions such as corporate, value added ed (VAT). and custom taxes. All business owners in the free zone areas in Dubai have the option of maintaining 100% ownership.

 309.
The term free zone is related to the exemptions of taxes, and foreigners that are interested in building and establishing businesses in Dubai can benefit from the UAE’s desire to increase foreign investment in Dubai. In fact, Dubai is one of the first emirates to introduce and implement the free zone concept throughout the UAE.

 310.
It is important to note that there are both free zone and freehold companies. They are different. Free zone companies are specifically related to commercial properties. Freehold properties involve the 100% ownership of land by foreigners granting them the right to use the property for any purpose-sale, lease, or residential purposes.

 311.
Reasons to Expand a Business through Free Zone

 312.
There are a variety of benefits associated with expanding a business through free zones. For ex-pats who already own a business in their home country, free zone company formation allows for ease in business expansion. The Dubai free zones enable the ex-pat business owners to retain 100% ownership of their business while obtaining full tax exemption. The tax exemptions are particularly appealing as it allows foreign companies and business owners to use the UAE to tap into the prosperous manufacturing and distribution available in other regions of the world.

 313.
The free zone locations provide lucrative investment opportunities for foreign business owners who aren’t particularly interested in sharing ownership of their current businesses. For those who don’t already own a business, these free zones are an enticing pull to encourage foreign business owners to invest in the UAE while maintaining full company ownership if so desired.

 314.
Meeting the Legalities

 315.
Even if a foreign business owner already has an established business in their home country, the UAE has specific requirements for ex-pats who are interested in expanding their businesses through the free zone initiatives. The free zone business setup does require the attainment of specific licenses as well as the necessary regulatory approvals based on the type of business that the expat is interesting in establishing within the free zone. While the foreign business owners can retain 100% of company ownership, they may have to obtain a local service agent especially if they’re seeking a professional license for a business that offers non-tangible services such as consulting and education.

 316.
One of the best benefits of expanding and even creating a new company within the free zones offered by the UAE is the exclusive, cost-reducing incentives. While establishing a business as a foreigner is relatively costly, the easy access to the Dubai free zones makes expanding an existing business and even creating a new business far more economically feasible. An established reputable business setup firm can assist foreign business owners in meeting all of the requirements and mandates necessary to create a branch of an existing business and/or the establishment of a new business within the designated opportunity zones.

 317.
Expand Your Business in Dubai Through Free Zone Company Formation

 318.

 319.
The Dubai Free Zones

 320.
The UAE has three areas which consist of 24 specified free zones. These three areas include the Dubai Development Authority, the Dubai Multi-Commodity Center Authority (DMCC), and a miscellaneous varied area that deals with a variety of different industries.

 321.
The Dubai Development Authority handles the development of companies and industries related to knowledge and creativity. Some of the free zones in this area include the Dubai Science Park, internet City, Media city, Studio City, Knowledge Park, and the Design District to name a few.

 322.
The Dubai Multi-Commodity Center Authority focuses on the trade of global commodities. Some of the free zones in this area include the Jumeirah Lakes Towers.

 323.
The Miscellaneous section includes an assortment of free trade zones that deal with various industries that can range from healthcare and law to the creation of precious metals. Some entities within this free zone include the Dubai World Trade Centre, the Dubai Healthcare City Authority, Techno Park, Dubai Outsource City, and Gold & Diamond Park.

 324.
With free zone company formation, foreign business owners to choose the free zones that are most applicable to the type of business that they are operating. This brings many advantages from not only reaping the benefits of being in areas designated for foreign investment, but also helping foreign business owners develop valuable business relationships within their respective industries.

 325.
Accessing the Dubai Free Zones

 326.
Foreigners that are interested in reaping the benefits of the Dubai free zones are encouraged to connect with reputable business planning companies in the UAE to get more information about which zones are most applicable and most beneficial for establishing a foreign branch and or creating an entirely new company .

 327.
The reputable business planning companies in the UAE work closely with foreigners who have an interest in establishing a company based on current business knowledge. The needs of someone who already owns a business may vary greatly from someone who is starting from scratch. Foreign business owners who would like to establish a branch of their parent home company in the UAE have to meet certain requirements and parameters.

 328.
Likewise, those foreign entities who are establishing a business for the first time in the UAE may require a more detailed approach that involves not only understanding how to establish a business as a foreign entity within the free zones but also the ins and outs of building a company from the ground up.

 329.
Ultimately, the free zone company set up in Dubai is an excellent opportunity for foreigners to tap into the wealth and economic prosperity in the UAE.

 341.

Business setup in Dubai for ex-pats and/or foreigners is governed by specific regulations. Many have found that starting a Mainland company is one of the best and most practical choices due to the numerous benefits offered by the UAE via this business setup process. A Mainland company is considered an onshore company that is licensed by the Department of Economic Development (DED). A DED Mainland company is allowed to do business within the local market as well as outside of the UAE without any limitations or restrictions. It is important to understand the specific regulations and parameters that are part of the process of setting up a DED Mainland company in Dubai.

 342.
Requirements for Starting a DED Mainland Company in Dubai

 343.
Setting up a Mainland company in Dubai is preferred for ex-pats as it offers full company ownership whereas in the past foreigners were only allowed to own up to 49% of a company. The Mainland company process is the best for individuals who want to operate and sell in the UAE. Likewise, with the Mainland business set up in the UAE, business owners are allowed to have 100% shares for holding. It should be noted that there are three specific circumstances under which a Mainland company is viable.

 344.

345. Set Up a Free Zone Company

 346.
Entities can use a local service agent to set up a branch of a free zone company. This particular setup offers the option of using a local distributor to help operate the company. The other option is to set up two separate entities at two different sites within the UAE which will result in payment of double the renewal fees. While both options are feasible, in terms of cost and efficiency, using the assistance of a local service agent is more efficient and economical.

 347.
Set Up a Professional Service Company

 348.
Professional companies allow ex-pats to operate a company with the assistance of a local service agent. The local service agent must be qualified as a UAE national or identify as a UAE company that employs UAE nationals. The local service agent assists ex-pats with the execution of company-related tasks per power of attorney. Is important to note that the local service agent is not an owner of the company. However, the local service agent will receive a fee annually for assistance with facilitating local government services.

 349.
Setup an Overseas Branch of a Company

 350.
Ex-pats that own a company in their own home country have the option of business set up in Dubai with an overseas branch. This will allow foreigners to expand their businesses and maintain 100% ownership. The overseas branch of a company must be engaged in the same line of business as the parent home company. Opening a branch of a company in the UAE does not require a UAE national as a shareholder. A local service agent will suffice for assistance with local government services.

 351.
Obtaining a License to Operate

 352.
For a business set up in the UAE, a license is required. It’s important to determine what type of license is needed because that also influences whether the ex-pat will need a local service agent or a local partner for the establishment of the company in Dubai. For clarity, local partnerships are generally required for those seeking commercial and industrial licenses. Local service agents are required for expatriates seeking a professional license. Unlike local partnerships, local service agents do not own a share of the company. They assist as representatives for administrative government services on behalf of the expatriate company owner. For their assistance, local service agents are typically paid a fixed fee annually.

 353.
The three main licenses offered for business operation in Dubai include industrial, commercial, and professional.

 354.
Industrial

 355.
Industrial licenses are for companies that turn natural materials and resources into finished products. These licenses are for both the creation and the sale of such products. With this type of license, the company owner can own a hundred percent of the company without involving a local service agent or sponsor.

 356.
Commercial

 357.
Commercial licenses allow companies to participate in active commercial trading which includes buying and selling and importing and exporting throughout Dubai without restrictions. Effective June 1st, 2021, local sponsors are not required for a UAE commercial company license. This allows ex-pats full company ownership without involving local sponsors or shareholders.

 358.
Professional

 359.
Professional licenses are for entities interested in offering non-physical products. This type of license covers such services as accounting, consulting, education, training, etc. With a professional license, 100% of the company or shares are owned by the ex-pat. However, a UAE national must be appointed as a local service agent to assist with government administrative tasks and paid a fixed annual fee for their services.

 360.
Ultimately, the type of license acquired is directly connected to the type of business the ex-pat is interested in conducting in Dubai. The type of business will also determine whether or not the business setup in UAE requires the involvement of a UAE national operating as a partner with shareholding investment or a UAE national operating as a local service agent without shareholding in the company.

 361.
For licensure to operate a business in the UAE, there are some special considerations. There are some businesses that require specific licenses from an applicable regulatory agency. These fields of practice include medicine, law, and education. When setting up a foreign-own business in Dubai, is important to meet the applicable standards set forth by governing agencies.

 362.
Seeking Business Setup Assistance

 363.
Although business set up in the UAE through the DED Midland process is highly preferred due to its clearly stated rules and regulations, ex-pats and foreigners interested in establishing a business in Dubai are encouraged to seek the assistance of qualified business creation and licensing professionals. Proper setup of a business is necessary for success, and ex-pats are often not well-informed about the most efficient and economically viable business setup options. A reputable business setup provider is an asset for ex-pats seeking to establish a business in the UAE.

 375.

Emigrate from Germany to Dubai For a Brand-New Beginning

 376.
Are you looking for a brand-new beginning in a brand new place?
377. Do you want to experience a higher quality of life somewhere that’s as beautiful as it is supportive of its residents? There are a million reasons you should consider emigrating to Dubai, especially if you own or operate a business. Discover why you should emigrate to Dubai, what the country offers to residents, and how to go about the immigration process safely, quickly, and easily.

 378.
Why People Are Considering Emigrating to Dubai from Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Europe
379. Currently, the rate of inflation in the EU and particularly in Germany is high and continues to rise with each day that passes. In 2021, the cost of energy in Germany skyrocketed and is now the highest in the World. Refueling your car and heating your home became increasingly expensive which puts unneeded financial pressure on residents. Although the high price of energy in Germany is due to a notable cause, as the government is trying to transition from fossil fuels to more sustainable renewable energy sources, the change is burdening residents’ day-to-day costs, and the program is funded by the taxpayer. Dubai offers lower rates of inflation and far lower costs of energy sources, with many companies already using sustainable renewable energy. By emigrating to Dubai, you can experience an easier financial situation. This is particularly true if you emigrate due to a job, as many companies are offering tax advantages to companies who relocate their business.

 380.
Restriction due to the covid-19 pandemic and subsequent lockdowns took a toll on residents of Germany, and although the lockdowns are lessoning, they are in no way over. Not only are lockdowns tough on working mothers and families, they lessen one’s ability to exercise their occupation. Although German residents are still trying to fight through these restrictions, many are quitting their jobs and looking to restart their careers in a new country, such as Dubai. This worldwide phenomenon is called “The Great Resignation” and if you’re one of the millions who’ve quit their careers, Dubai may be the perfect place to restart your life and find financial freedom. There may be no better place to continue our entrepreneurship than in Dubai, as it’s known to have some of the best working conditions in the world.

 381.
The covid restrictions in Germany have also created political unrest, with protests and political parties taking to the streets. The issue of vaccination mandates in Germany is both opposed and supported by many, which leads to the residents of Germany further dividing which makes the country destabilized. Add to that the instability of the EUR, and we see a less secure place to live and operate a business out of.

 382.

 383.
Why You Should Consider Dubai As Your New Home
384. Dubai is one of the top ten cities in the world, and through the Dubai 2040 Master Plan for urban development, the city will continue to rise the ranks as one of the greatest places to live. Dubai not only has the covid mandates in place to live safely they are a city that offers 0% taxes for entrepreneurs, as well as high infrastructure and a solid global currency giving those who live their stability.

 385.
Dubai’s housing market is booming, with plenty of great reasonably priced apartments, housing, and luxury living for everyone to have the space they want. If you have a family or are planning to have children, Dubai may be the perfect fit for your brand-new beginning. The schools in Dubai are some of the best in the world because it’s a city with millions of different nationalities of people all living together. This allows children to leave school with an education that works in a global market.

 386.
The Type Of Person Who’s Emigrating To Dubai
387. Many people who are immigrating to Dubai are young families who want better schools for their children, which leads to the population of Dubai being young and full of life. Anyone who is tired of cold weather, and dreary daily life that’s so often associated with long winters would benefit from living in this sunny, beautiful city.

 388.
Many solopreneurs and entrepreneurs who want a fresh start in a mega luxury city are considering a new start in this amazing city as it values independence in the world of business. Due to the rise of remote work, people can now immigrate while still being able to work for companies outside of Dubai. Entrepreneurs are now able to orient themselves internationally because of Dubai’s diverse population and accessibility to other foreign markets. The city of Dubai is full of top earners in Network Marketing, as this is an independent job that can make sales to people from many different nations with tax breaks for all.

 389.
What You Need To Know About Emigrating to Dubai Or The United Arab Emirates
390. If you’re looking for a new start in Dubai, and want to emigrate from Germany or anywhere in Europe, there’s some important information that can simplify your move and make for an easier transition.

 391.
Consider Your Job: If you want to immigrate to the UAE, try to find a job from a Dubai employer so that you can get a work visa for yourself or your family. This is the simplest way to move to the UAE quickly, and for very little money.

 392.
Invest Wisely: Another easy way to get access into the country is by investing your money. There are investor visas that you can get either through buying real estate or getting a Golden Visa, which is a long-term residence visa. These systems allow foreigners to relocate work and or study in Dubai without having to get a national sponsor. 407.

Dubai is a wonderful place to live, with its beautiful architecture, incredible weather, ideally designed infrastructure, and stable financial market. Many families are emigrating to Dubai because of these reasons and the high quality of schools available. Dubai is also one of the best places for entrepreneurs to operate their businesses. They have a multitude of business-friendly policies, including initiatives that help new businesses thrive, and at the same time attract talented like-minded individuals. In this article, we’ll go over all the many reasons why Dubai is the best place for entrepreneurs.

 408.
Facts And Figures

 409.
The currency in Dubai, the Dirham, is one of the most stable and secure currencies in the world. The Dirham also has a strong connection to the US dollar, which is also very stable. Because the Dirham is pegged to the US dollar it gives entrepreneurs the chance to create capital that works within the global market. Entrepreneurs then get to retain the majority of their profits due to Dubai’s lack of taxation on businesses. This, along with the lack of restriction on profit transfers, and or reparations of capital, means that any money made overseas is kept by the business owner and taxed where they are based.

 410.
One of the most important reasons why Dubai is so helpful for entrepreneurs is their taxation. They offer 0% taxes on income, meaning entrepreneurs get to keep their profits which helps them to gain momentum in their industry, something that can be hard for those just starting out.

 411.
If you want low Tax Dubai is the most obvious choice for emigrating. There is also no sales taxes for purchases of goods and services, which can make all the difference in increasing sales and consumers. Dubai offers no corporate taxation, which is why many call the city an incubator for entrepreneurship. These tax incentives particularly when compared to Europe, where 55% of taxes have to be paid, makes the United Arab Emirates the most logical place for your business’ next home.

 412.

 413.
Why It’s Important To Choose The Right Area
414. It is important to note that there are different sections of the UAE, there is the Free Zone Company, which has 0 % corporate tax, and the Mainland Company which has 9% Corporate Tax as was reported in June 2023. Free Zones is the best place to operate a business out of as it’s a defined area where investors and companies can see little to no taxes. The Free Zone gives a plethora of other tax breaks, financial incentives, and duty exemptions. This is why it’s important to work with a company such as Global Success Consulting, which sets up businesses in Dubai. They know the ins and outs of the city and can set up your engineering company in the most financially attractive area of Dubai.

 415.
Ownership For Business Owners
416. Another reason why Dubai is such a wonderful place for entrepreneurs to live and operate their businesses is the retention of ownership. In Dubai, you have 100% ownership of your business, and that’s extended to immigrants with visas as well as entrepreneurs with enterprises. Dubai is a place where incubators and government projects are plentiful, and that can help turn an idea into a thriving business with increased revenue seen each and every year.

 417.
Infrastructure In the Digital Age
418. The infrastructure of Dubai is set to keep its residents and their businesses thriving. Dubai has both the physical and digital infrastructure needed to start a business. Their world-class infrastructure gives residents a series of conferences, exhibitions, and community events that help entrepreneurs make connections, and increase the networks of professionals working in their intended industry.

 419.
Digital infrastructure is the resources that are used such as data, computers, smartphone devices, systems, and processing. Having a strong digital infrastructure helps entrepreneurs start businesses in the new digital era of business. Dubai’s elite digital infrastructure also makes it easier to function in a digital society for residences and can improve those living in Dubai in their overall quality of life.

 420.

 421.
Access To Funding Opportunities
422. Having a great idea for a business doesn’t mean much without having the financial backing opportunities to make your dream into reality. Dubai has individuals with some of the highest net worths in the world, who’re looking to support entrepreneurs with the next great idea. In addition, Dubai has many of the leading banks in the Middle East. They also have a strong community of impressive venture capitalists, making Dubai one of the best places for entrepreneurs. The culture supports new ideas, both through their infrastructure and their funding.

 423.
Other Things To Consider
424. You do have to consider that Dubai has a slightly higher cost of living because it is a luxury megacity. However the housing market is flush with options, and the extremely high lifestyle is worth the slightly higher cost of living than in other countries such as Germany, Europe. In Dubai, there are shopping malls like you’ve never seen anywhere else, as well as cultural sightseeing attractions and even indoor ski slopes. This city isn’t just amazing because of the opportunities it affords entrepreneurs, it’s an incredible, diverse place to live for people from all walks of life.

 425.
Ready To Make The Move?
426. If you’re ready to make the move, you may need help with starting your business. Global Success Consulting is a business that specializes in company formation, banking, asset protection, wealth accumulation, and the overall establishment of the company.
427. But they also help with the transition of the individuals such as getting international health insurance and buying or renting real estate.

 428.
Dubai is ranked the #1 in the world for starting a business, as was reported by the Global Entrepreneurship Index, and for good reason. They give entrepreneurs tax breaks and have the infrastructure to support funding and networking opportunities. What’s more, Dubai is a great place to live as a resident. Dubai makes a particularly pleasant place to live if you want a luxury lifestyle in a place that’s sunny almost all year round and has beautiful sights and rich cultural history. If you want to start a business in Dubai your first call should be to Global Success Consulting, they’ll set you up with everything you need to market your business on a global scale in the UAE city of Dubai.

 440.

Ready to Save on Taxes? Move Your Business Legally to Dubai

 441.
Businesses are having to make bold and strategic financial decisions in order to survive throughout and after the pandemic. After the pandemic rocked the financial market, discovering the ways to save on taxes helps has become paramount to ensure that your business survives and thrives in a difficult moment in industries that are changing rapidly. Entrepreneurs can optimize their business finances and create new opportunities by moving their companies to Dubai. This is a complete legal savings tactic, just as long as the business activities are run out of UAE or The United Arab Emirates.

 442.
What Led Entrepreneurs To Move Their Business

 443.
Good entrepreneurs see business as a moving target, and their ability to have forethought and consider what will happen next as opposed to what is happening now, and act accordingly, is what makes them successful. Across Europe, countries announced tax increases and special levies on assets for individuals after a global pandemic had already magnified financial struggles. If the USA was an indication, entrepreneurs had to act quickly in order to avoid being swallowed by endless inflation and unstable markets. This is what led many entrepreneurs to consider new tactics for legal tax optimization, and move their companies to Dubai within The United Arab Emirates.

 444.
What Make The UAE So Attractive For Business Owners

 445.
The high-quality infrastructure within Dubai and the UAE helps to enable trade and gives businesses the ability to grow financially and create long-lasting jobs for their employees. Dubai is a city that is filled with foreigners making it an optimal place for a diverse group of business owners to operate out of. Dubai’s culture is brimming with an elite society that values strong security and clear political lines, as well as stability for the country’s future. But most importantly, there is a 0% tax burden on businesses and income for entrepreneurs who operate their businesses in the UAE.

 446.
The Traps Set For Business Owners

 447.
Online, you’ll find that companies are offering assistance in setting up business in Dubai. Many seem too good to be true because often, they are. Entrepreneurs commonly make the mistake of trusting the wrong consultants and strategists who have either outdated information, or entirely incorrect advice, and their financial status suffers as a result. Outsiders looking to infiltrate Dubai’s profitable market can fall into these traps because they don’t know the subtle difference within the setup of bank funds and strategic business strategy. Luckily, there are knowledgeable and trustworthy companies that help entrepreneurs avoid these mistakes, such as Alexander Erber, an elite Global Finance Consultant, and renowned Wealth Strategist.

 448.
Who Alexander Erber Works With

 449.
Alexander Erber and his associates support clients from all over the world, including Germany, Switzerland, and Austria, helping them to make the leap, and move their company foundation to Dubai in The UAE. Alexander Erber assists his clients with the daunting task of creating a company foundation in The UAE, by coordinating their emigration into the UAE. They help their clients find their footing in the unique and foreign business world of Dubai. While some incorporation agencies establish the company, procure visas and then leave the client to sink or swim, Alexander Erber stays with the business until they are established. This ensures that issues are handled in the more precarious times in the beginning, when mistakes have a heavy cost for entrepreneurs.

 450.
Why Entrepreneurs Should Choose Their Emirate Wisely

 451.
The chosen emirate of an entrepreneur is important and can have consequences in the future. Although certain emirates are less expensive, they can often cost businesses money down the line if the local infrastructure and organization are overly complex and not fully understood. When companies don’t have access to the most current official procedures, it’s easy to take a wrong step that costs the company money, time, and their reputation in their newly chosen market. Establishing in the UAE can be simple, as long as you have the right assistance.

 452.

 453.
Banking in The UAE can be confusing to foreigners and if the setup is done incorrectly, they may be out of luck before they’ve even had a chance to begin. Business owners must choose the right license and the right type of company which most often is the Free zone. Establishing a Free zone Company in the UAE means your business will have special jurisdiction in a particular emirate. Currently, there are 40 Free Zones within the UAE and each with their regulations and governments that entrepreneurs have to understand.

 454.

 455.
Banking availability and placement within the UAE is based on the assets of the customers. The more assets an individual or company can deposit, the easier it is to get an account within one of the premier banks such as Emirates NBD. As is with everything in life for the wealthy it’s a bit less complicated. For the less wealthy, however, there are other tactics to take, and Erber’s company Global Success Consulting knows the right strategies to implement so that they can set up their business in Dubai and avoid unsteady infrastructure and unnecessary high taxation.

 456.

 457.
Setting up a company in Dubai comes with its own set of struggles but compared to Europe and the US, it’s relatively easy especially when you have the help of a financial advisor who knows the structures in place and how to avoid costly and devastating mistakes for business owners.

 458.
How Alexander Erber Is Helping Companies Make The Right Choices

 459.
Alexander Erber has a favorable price to performance ratio that’s helped many businesses save on taxes and create new monetary strides in their industry. Erber also assists clients with the conversion of their Mainland companies so that they can legally and officially offer products and services directly from the UAE. Alexander Erber knows the steps of procedures companies must follow to create a functional company structure and bank account to match.

 460.
Erber and associates give comprehensive advice to clients regarding the current state of affairs and together they map out the optimal strategies when moving business to Dubai, UAE.

 461.
Don’t make expensive missteps that will cost you, instead choose Alexander Erber and get a full-service approach on how to form your company and emigrate to Dubai successfully with his company Global Success Consulting.
