  85. <p>Le Bourget, June 18, 2025 – Today, at the Paris Air Show, Pascale Lohat, Senior Executive VP Engineering of Dassault Aviation, and Bertrand Rondepierre, Director of the French Agency for AI in defence (AMIAD), signed a memorandum of understanding to initiate research and development work on several air combat use cases.</p>
  86. <p>In an uncertain world where traditional threats coexist with emerging challenges, air combat is constantly adapting and evolving to meet the growing complexity of military operations. The challenges facing modern air forces call for innovative, high-performance solutions.</p>
  87. <p>The integration of new technologies such as artificial intelligence, controlled and supervised, and the theme of autonomy offer promising prospects for improving the coordination, responsiveness and efficiency of air operations, while keeping Man at the heart of decision-making. These technological advances not only reduce the risks for human operators, but also increase response capacity in the face of increasingly sophisticated threats.</p>
  88. <p>As a world leader in defense aeronautics, Dassault Aviation has recognized expertise in the design and manufacture of advanced airborne systems. Innovative topics are therefore at the heart of the company’s preoccupations, with a view to integrating them into cutting-edge technologies to better meet operational needs.</p>
  89. <p>AMIAD plays a key role in the development and integration of artificial intelligence technologies for military applications. As such, AMIAD pays particular attention to computing infrastructures, which are essential to meet the power requirements of modern algorithms, and has three modes of action, including “doing with”, based on the co-development of innovative solutions with the industrial and academic ecosystem.</p>
  90. <p>The collaboration between Dassault Aviation and AMIAD is both natural and strategic. By combining their respective skills, these two entities can meet the challenges of future air combat and develop innovative solutions. The aim of this collaboration is to demonstrate the relevance of “Doing with”, to strengthen France’s national defense capability, and to keep France at the cutting edge of technology in the field of military aeronautics.</p>
  91. <p>It is in this spirit of partnership and innovation that Dassault Aviation and AMIAD have signed this memorandum of understanding.</p>
  92. <p>ABOUT DASSAULT AVIATION</p>
  93. <p>With over 10,000 military and civil aircraft delivered in more than 90 countries over the last century, Dassault Aviation has built up expertise recognized worldwide in the design, production, sale and support of all types of aircraft, ranging from the Rafale fighter, to the high-end Falcon family of business jets, military drones and space systems. In 2024, sales amounted to € 6.2 billion. Dassault Aviation has 14,600 employees.</p>
  94. <p>ABOUT AMIAD</p>
  95. <p>The French Agency for artificial intelligence in defence (AMIAD), created on May 1, 2024, marks the first measure of the French Ministry of Defence AI strategy, announced in March 2024. Its main mission is to accelerate the development, integration, and large-scale deployment of artificial intelligence (AI) technologies to enhance operational superiority and daily efficiency for all agents.</p>
  96. <p>Reporting directly to the French Minister of Defence, AMIAD supervises and ensures the coordination of all projects involving AI within the ministry. To achieve its objectives, the agency builds a central expertise in AI and manages the project portfolio in collaboration with the defence AI ecosystem.</p>
  97. <p>AMIAD’s experts and researchers are located between the technical hub in Bruz, near Rennes, and a research activity in Palaiseau on the École polytechnique campus.</p>
  98. <p>AMIAD is committed to strengthening the Ministry of Defence capacity to integrate and exploit AI technologies in a secure, efficient, and sovereign manner.</p>

  171. <p>Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port (Donibane Garazi in Basque) is a <a href="https://all-andorra.com/france/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>French</strong></a> commune located in the Pyrénées-Atlantiques department, in the <a href="https://all-andorra.com/nouvelle-aquitaine/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>Nouvelle-Aquitaine</strong></a> region.</p>
  172. <p>A town located at the confluence of the <a href="https://all-andorra.com/nive-river/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>Nive</strong></a> and Laurhibar rivers, it owes its name to its location at the foot of the <a href="https://all-andorra.com/roncesvalles/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>Roncevaux Pass</strong></a> (&#8220;port&#8221;) (alt. 1057 m), which provides access to the southern <a href="https://all-andorra.com/pyrenees/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>Pyrenees</strong></a>. Formerly the political and administrative capital of Lower <a href="https://all-andorra.com/navarre/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>Navarre</strong></a>, it is today an economic, cultural, and sporting center for the Basque Country (not to be confused with the <a href="https://all-andorra.com/basque-country/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>Basque community</strong></a>).</p>
  173. <p>The town is also a stopover on the <a href="https://all-andorra.com/way-of-st-james/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>pilgrimage</strong></a> to <a href="https://all-andorra.com/santiago-de-compostela/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>Santiago de Compostela</strong></a>, attracting approximately 60,000 pilgrims annually. In 2016, it was admitted to the association of the <a href="https://all-andorra.com/the-most-beautiful-villages-of-france/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>Most Beautiful Villages of France</strong></a>.</p>

  175. <p style="text-align: center"><strong>History</strong></p>
  176. <p>This is a fortified town (bastide) built in the 12th century. As it grew, the city took precedence from Saint-Jean-le-Vieux. It became the capital of one of the five divisions of the Kingdom of Navarre: the Merindad de Ultrapuertos.</p>
  177. <p>One of the city&#8217;s first buildings was the Church of Saint Eulalia, erected in the 12th century not far from the ford of the <a href="https://all-andorra.com/nive-river/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>Nive</strong></a>. On the hill overlooking the city stood Mendiguren Castle, which is mentioned as early as 1191.</p>
  178. <p><a href="https://all-andorra.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/06/Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port-Pyrenees-Atlantiques_town-hall_buildings-min.jpg" class="light"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-403349" src="https://all-andorra.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/06/Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port-Pyrenees-Atlantiques_town-hall_buildings-min.jpg" alt="" width="900" height="600" srcset="https://all-andorra.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/06/Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port-Pyrenees-Atlantiques_town-hall_buildings-min.jpg 900w, https://all-andorra.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/06/Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port-Pyrenees-Atlantiques_town-hall_buildings-min-300x200.jpg 300w, https://all-andorra.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/06/Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port-Pyrenees-Atlantiques_town-hall_buildings-min-768x512.jpg 768w, https://all-andorra.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/06/Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port-Pyrenees-Atlantiques_town-hall_buildings-min-800x533.jpg 800w" sizes="(max-width: 900px) 100vw, 900px" /></a></p>
  179. <p>In 1329, Philip III of Navarre (1328-1343) granted it its fors, charters governing the progressive administrative system that Navarre adopted in the 11th century. It was able to organize fairs and markets within its walls, and became an important commercial center, a necessary stopover for travelers and pilgrims on the road to <a href="https://all-andorra.com/pamplona/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>Pamplona</strong></a>.</p>
  180. <p><a href="https://all-andorra.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/06/Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port-Pyrenees-Atlantiques_activities_sports-min.jpg" class="light"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-403309" src="https://all-andorra.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/06/Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port-Pyrenees-Atlantiques_activities_sports-min.jpg" alt="" width="900" height="600" srcset="https://all-andorra.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/06/Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port-Pyrenees-Atlantiques_activities_sports-min.jpg 900w, https://all-andorra.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/06/Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port-Pyrenees-Atlantiques_activities_sports-min-300x200.jpg 300w, https://all-andorra.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/06/Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port-Pyrenees-Atlantiques_activities_sports-min-768x512.jpg 768w, https://all-andorra.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/06/Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port-Pyrenees-Atlantiques_activities_sports-min-800x533.jpg 800w" sizes="(max-width: 900px) 100vw, 900px" /></a></p>
  181. <p>The kings of Navarre made frequent stays there, and, importantly, in the 14th century, the schismatic bishop of the Pope of <a href="https://all-andorra.com/avignon/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>Avignon</strong></a> resided there from 1383 to 1388, during the Western Schism, while the bishop of the Pope of Rome administered the bishopric of Bayonne.</p>
  182. <p>In 1530, Charles V abandoned the city, which he deemed too costly to hold, and destroyed the castle. The northern part of Navarre then became Lower Navarre, as opposed to Upper Navarre. This is why Henry IV, upon his accession to the throne, called himself King of France and Navarre, a title his successors retained up to Charles X.</p>
  183. <p><a href="https://all-andorra.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/06/Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port-Pyrenees-Atlantiques_touristic-train_tourism_travel-min.jpg" class="light"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-403345" src="https://all-andorra.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/06/Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port-Pyrenees-Atlantiques_touristic-train_tourism_travel-min.jpg" alt="" width="900" height="600" srcset="https://all-andorra.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/06/Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port-Pyrenees-Atlantiques_touristic-train_tourism_travel-min.jpg 900w, https://all-andorra.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/06/Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port-Pyrenees-Atlantiques_touristic-train_tourism_travel-min-300x200.jpg 300w, https://all-andorra.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/06/Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port-Pyrenees-Atlantiques_touristic-train_tourism_travel-min-768x512.jpg 768w, https://all-andorra.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/06/Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port-Pyrenees-Atlantiques_touristic-train_tourism_travel-min-800x533.jpg 800w" sizes="(max-width: 900px) 100vw, 900px" /></a></p>
  184. <p>During the Wars of Religion, incidents broke out between Protestants and Catholics. Jeanne d&#8217;Albret&#8217;s ban on Catholic worship in 1567 led to the formation of a league in September, followed by an uprising in March 1568. Two of the city&#8217;s churches were burned. When the Catholics rose up again, Henry III, at the age of fifteen, defeated them and drove them back to <a href="https://all-andorra.com/spain/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>Spain</strong></a>, before promising Saint John not to impose Protestant worship.</p>
  185. <p><a href="https://all-andorra.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/06/Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port-Pyrenees-Atlantiques_architecture-min.jpg" class="light"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-403313" src="https://all-andorra.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/06/Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port-Pyrenees-Atlantiques_architecture-min.jpg" alt="" width="900" height="1350" srcset="https://all-andorra.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/06/Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port-Pyrenees-Atlantiques_architecture-min.jpg 900w, https://all-andorra.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/06/Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port-Pyrenees-Atlantiques_architecture-min-200x300.jpg 200w, https://all-andorra.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/06/Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port-Pyrenees-Atlantiques_architecture-min-683x1024.jpg 683w, https://all-andorra.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/06/Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port-Pyrenees-Atlantiques_architecture-min-768x1152.jpg 768w, https://all-andorra.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/06/Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port-Pyrenees-Atlantiques_architecture-min-800x1200.jpg 800w" sizes="(max-width: 900px) 100vw, 900px" /></a></p>
  186. <p>The law of March 4, 1790, which established a new administrative landscape for France by creating departments and districts, led to the creation of the Basses-Pyrénées department by uniting Béarn, the Gascon lands of Bayonne and Bidache, and the three French Basque provinces.</p>
  187. <p><a href="https://all-andorra.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/06/Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port-Pyrenees-Atlantiques_shops_piligrims_santiago-min.jpg" class="light"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-403341" src="https://all-andorra.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/06/Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port-Pyrenees-Atlantiques_shops_piligrims_santiago-min.jpg" alt="" width="900" height="1064" srcset="https://all-andorra.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/06/Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port-Pyrenees-Atlantiques_shops_piligrims_santiago-min.jpg 900w, https://all-andorra.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/06/Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port-Pyrenees-Atlantiques_shops_piligrims_santiago-min-254x300.jpg 254w, https://all-andorra.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/06/Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port-Pyrenees-Atlantiques_shops_piligrims_santiago-min-866x1024.jpg 866w, https://all-andorra.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/06/Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port-Pyrenees-Atlantiques_shops_piligrims_santiago-min-768x908.jpg 768w, https://all-andorra.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/06/Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port-Pyrenees-Atlantiques_shops_piligrims_santiago-min-800x946.jpg 800w" sizes="(max-width: 900px) 100vw, 900px" /></a></p>
  188. <p>The Wars of the Revolution and the Empire spared the city. However, in 1793, with the outbreak of the War between the Convention and Spain, the stronghold, renamed Nive-Franche, played an important role in the defense of the territory, particularly with the Basque Chasseurs.</p>
  189. <p>The railway, which arrived in 1889, opened up the city but failed to offset the demographic decline of the 19th century.</p>

  283. <p>The <strong>Our Lady of the Assumption church</strong> dominates the village. Built in the 13th century, it has been listed as a historical monument since 1996 for its interior decoration. The church is dedicated to the Assumption of Mary.</p>

  287. <p>The <strong>Ainhoa forest</strong>, which stretches over more than 400 hectares, is home to a rich fauna, both wild (roe deer, wild boar, hares and migratory birds) and semi-wild pastoral (pottoks, betizus, goats). It is made up mainly of oaks (pedunculate oak), a rustic species, and more recent plant populations (American red oak and conifers).</p>

  338. <p>The Andalusian festival, which has been held for more than a quarter of a century, got a new lease of life this year thanks to major events and a rich cultural programme prepared by the city&#8217;s cultural service in collaboration with the National Stage of Southern Aquitaine.</p>

  343. <p>For three days, from Friday evening to Sunday evening, festival guests were able to enjoy performances of Andalusian dances in the Halls (Halles), on Louis XIV Square and on the stage of the casetas in Flots Bleus, where pavilions offering Spanish culinary delicacies were set up.</p>

  345. <p>The Halls (Halles) also hosted culinary master classes, including a demonstration of an Andalusian recipe. Guests were offered traditional pichot pote, as well as grilled sardines and Basque pies.</p>

  347. <p>This rich programme was complemented by other cultural events, including exhibitions and documentary film screenings.</p>

  349. <p data-start="40" data-end="180">The festivities drew in both young and old, who danced with spirit on stages set against the backdrop of the sea and in the city&#8217;s lively square. Women in flowing, brightly colored dresses moved gracefully along the promenade, escorted by their partners in refined Andalusian costumes.</p>

  351. <p data-pm-slice="1 1 []">The festive horse parade, accompanied by song and dance, transported both spectators and participants straight to the heart of Andalusia &#8211; all without leaving Saint-Jean-de-Luz.</p>
  352. <p><a href="https://all-andorra.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/06/Saint-Jean-de-Luz.png" class="light"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-402556" src="https://all-andorra.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/06/Saint-Jean-de-Luz.png" alt="" width="900" height="671" srcset="https://all-andorra.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/06/Saint-Jean-de-Luz.png 900w, https://all-andorra.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/06/Saint-Jean-de-Luz-300x224.png 300w, https://all-andorra.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/06/Saint-Jean-de-Luz-768x573.png 768w, https://all-andorra.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/06/Saint-Jean-de-Luz-800x596.png 800w" sizes="(max-width: 900px) 100vw, 900px" /></a></p>
  353. <p>Many musical groups, both amateur and professional, performed on stage, giving this magnificent festival a unique charm.</p>

  383. <p>The award ceremony took place at the Palau Sant Jordi in <a href="https://all-andorra.com/barcelona/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>Barcelona</strong></a>, with 1,400 people in attendance. The award was accepted by the president of the Cadí cooperative, Jordi Calvet Vila. The award was granted as part of the 38th edition of the PIMEC Awards, organized by the PIMEC employers&#8217; association for small and medium-sized enterprises, one of 38 organizations forming the Catalunya Internacional consortium.</p>
  384. <p>The award honors companies that contribute to promoting Catalonia abroad and enhancing its international reputation.</p>
  385. <p>Since 1915, the Cadí cooperative has been producing cheese and butter from fresh milk sourced from farms in the Alt Urgell and Cerdanya regions. Today, it includes 64 farms that produce a total of 62 million liters of milk per year. The cooperative employs around 135 people and generates an annual turnover of €53 million. About 29% of its cheese production is exported to 10 countries, including France, as well as others such as Portugal, the Czech Republic, and the United States.</p>
  386. <p>Cadí offers two products recognized by the European Union: Cadí butter, one of the few in Europe with such status, and Urgèlia cheese, the only cheese in Catalonia with PDO (Protected Designation of Origin) status. With the slogan &#8220;We give life to the land,&#8221; the cooperative reaffirms its commitment to the region and its people, to quality, and to sustainability.</p>

  432. <p>Mimizan (Occitan: Mamisan) is a commune in southwestern <a href="https://all-andorra.com/france/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>France</strong></a>, located in the Landes department in the <a href="https://all-andorra.com/nouvelle-aquitaine/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>Nouvelle-Aquitaine</strong></a> region. It belongs to the Pays de Born (<a href="https://all-andorra.com/gascony/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>Gascony</strong></a>) and is located in the area of the <a href="https://all-andorra.com/landes-forest/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>Landes forest</strong></a>.</p>
  433. <p>The commune is divided between two distinct hubs: Mimizan-Bourg and Mimizan-Plage, the latter being one of the main seaside resorts on the <strong>Côte d&#8217;Argent</strong>.</p>
  434. <p><a href="https://all-andorra.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/06/Mimizan-Landes_tower_museum-min.jpg" class="light"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-402851" src="https://all-andorra.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/06/Mimizan-Landes_tower_museum-min.jpg" alt="" width="900" height="1321" srcset="https://all-andorra.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/06/Mimizan-Landes_tower_museum-min.jpg 900w, https://all-andorra.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/06/Mimizan-Landes_tower_museum-min-204x300.jpg 204w, https://all-andorra.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/06/Mimizan-Landes_tower_museum-min-698x1024.jpg 698w, https://all-andorra.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/06/Mimizan-Landes_tower_museum-min-768x1127.jpg 768w, https://all-andorra.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/06/Mimizan-Landes_tower_museum-min-800x1174.jpg 800w" sizes="(max-width: 900px) 100vw, 900px" /></a></p>
  435. <p style="text-align: center"><strong>Tourism</strong></p>
  436. <p>Mimizan has ten kilometers of beaches. The ocean beaches, from north to south, are:</p>
  437. <ul>
  438. <li>Remember Beach, Ailes Beach, and Garluche Beach (north of the current);</li>
  439. <li>Goëlands Beach, Mouettes Beach, South Beach, and Lespecier Beach (south of the current).</li>
  440. </ul>
  441. <p>The other beaches are Courant Beach and Lake Aureilhan.</p>
  442. <p>*The town features numerous clean beaches but is <strong>not advised for tourists because of the nearby Gascogne Papier factory</strong>, which is situated just 1 km from the coast. This factory is a leading producer of natural kraft paper, and its operations result in significant air pollution within a 2 km radius, contributing to an unpleasant odor in the town.</p>
  443. <p>Mimizan has a state-owned forest managed by the National Forestry Office, the Malloueyre Hunting and Wildlife Reserve, and three Natura 2000 sites (SCI/pSCI):</p>
  444. <ul>
  445. <li>&#8220;Dunes of the Landes Coast from <a href="https://all-andorra.com/place-in-the-sun/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>Arcachon</strong></a> to Mimizan-Plage&#8221;;</li>
  446. <li>&#8220;Dunes of the Landes Coast from Mimizan-Plage to <a href="https://all-andorra.com/vieux-boucau-les-bains/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>Vieux-Boucau</strong></a>,&#8221; including the Malloueyre ponds and the Tirelagüe lagoon;</li>
  447. <li>&#8220;Wetlands of the Back Dune of the Pays de Born,&#8221; including the Aureilhan pond.</li>
  448. </ul>

  450. <p>The town owns the bell tower-porch of the former priory church of Mimizan (11th-13th centuries), partially listed as a historical monument in 1903 and fully in 1990, and designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2000 as part of the <a href="https://all-andorra.com/way-of-st-james/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>Route of Santiago</strong></a> in France.</p>
  451. <p>The town also has the Church of Our Lady of the Assumption (1887-1891).</p>

  520. <p>Cadillac Castle, like a hundred other monuments, is owned by the State, and is managed, maintained, and open to the public by the National Monuments Center.</p>
  521. <p><a href="https://all-andorra.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/06/Cadillac-castle_collections-min.jpg" class="light"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-402701" src="https://all-andorra.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/06/Cadillac-castle_collections-min.jpg" alt="" width="900" height="600" srcset="https://all-andorra.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/06/Cadillac-castle_collections-min.jpg 900w, https://all-andorra.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/06/Cadillac-castle_collections-min-300x200.jpg 300w, https://all-andorra.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/06/Cadillac-castle_collections-min-768x512.jpg 768w, https://all-andorra.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/06/Cadillac-castle_collections-min-800x533.jpg 800w" sizes="(max-width: 900px) 100vw, 900px" /></a></p>
  522. <p style="text-align: center"><strong>History</strong></p>
  523. <p>The castle was built in the town at the request of Jean-Louis de Nogaret de La Valette (1554-1642), first Duke of Épernon. A symbol of the proud, haughty, and quarrelsome <a href="https://all-andorra.com/gascony/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>Gascon</strong></a>, this castle embodies the omnipotence of this Gascon cadet, who became one of King Henry III&#8217;s minions.</p>
  524. <p><a href="https://all-andorra.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/06/Cadillac-castle_price-min.jpg" class="light"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-402733" src="https://all-andorra.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/06/Cadillac-castle_price-min.jpg" alt="" width="900" height="600" srcset="https://all-andorra.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/06/Cadillac-castle_price-min.jpg 900w, https://all-andorra.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/06/Cadillac-castle_price-min-300x200.jpg 300w, https://all-andorra.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/06/Cadillac-castle_price-min-768x512.jpg 768w, https://all-andorra.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/06/Cadillac-castle_price-min-800x533.jpg 800w" sizes="(max-width: 900px) 100vw, 900px" /></a></p>
  525. <p>To build it, part of the fortified city was razed. It bears witness to the late Renaissance and already heralds 17th-century Classicism. Originally, the castle, flanked by two monumental wings and four corner pavilions, surrounded the main courtyard enclosed by a perimeter wall. The wings, pavilions, and this perimeter wall were dismantled in the mid-18th century and their stones sold.</p>
  526. <p><a href="https://all-andorra.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/06/Cadillac-castle_kitchen-min.jpg" class="light"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-402729" src="https://all-andorra.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/06/Cadillac-castle_kitchen-min.jpg" alt="" width="900" height="600" srcset="https://all-andorra.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/06/Cadillac-castle_kitchen-min.jpg 900w, https://all-andorra.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/06/Cadillac-castle_kitchen-min-300x200.jpg 300w, https://all-andorra.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/06/Cadillac-castle_kitchen-min-768x512.jpg 768w, https://all-andorra.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/06/Cadillac-castle_kitchen-min-800x533.jpg 800w" sizes="(max-width: 900px) 100vw, 900px" /></a></p>
  527. <p>Seized during the French Revolution, it served as a prison in the 19th century, which saw the construction of the two current wings and a concierge&#8217;s lodge; then as a school for the preservation of young women from 1880. It was badly damaged by fire in 1928 and became a public institution for supervised education, finally closing in 1952. The prison administration then returned the castle to the Secretariat of Fine Arts, and later to the Ministry of Culture.</p>
  528. <p><a href="https://all-andorra.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/06/Cadillac-castle_prison-min.jpg" class="light"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-402737" src="https://all-andorra.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/06/Cadillac-castle_prison-min.jpg" alt="" width="900" height="600" srcset="https://all-andorra.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/06/Cadillac-castle_prison-min.jpg 900w, https://all-andorra.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/06/Cadillac-castle_prison-min-300x200.jpg 300w, https://all-andorra.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/06/Cadillac-castle_prison-min-768x512.jpg 768w, https://all-andorra.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/06/Cadillac-castle_prison-min-800x533.jpg 800w" sizes="(max-width: 900px) 100vw, 900px" /></a></p>
  529. <p>Today, it is open to visitors and is undergoing major restoration and enhancement campaigns, allowing its rich original 17th-century interiors to be evoked. At the rear, a pleasure garden restored at the end of the 20th century is accessible from the city. Its surface area is limited by the city&#8217;s fortifications.</p>

  615. <p>The Château de Tastes, or Château de Sainte-Croix, built in the 14th century, was rebuilt towards the end of the following century. It is located in the village of Sainte-Croix-du-Mont in the <a href="https://all-andorra.com/france/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>French</strong></a> department of Gironde (<a href="https://all-andorra.com/nouvelle-aquitaine/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>Nouvelle Aquitaine</strong></a>).</p>
  616. <p><a href="https://all-andorra.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/06/Tastes-castle-Gironde_how-to-get-to_coordinates_tourism-min.jpg" class="light"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-402647" src="https://all-andorra.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/06/Tastes-castle-Gironde_how-to-get-to_coordinates_tourism-min.jpg" alt="" width="900" height="1350" srcset="https://all-andorra.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/06/Tastes-castle-Gironde_how-to-get-to_coordinates_tourism-min.jpg 900w, https://all-andorra.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/06/Tastes-castle-Gironde_how-to-get-to_coordinates_tourism-min-200x300.jpg 200w, https://all-andorra.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/06/Tastes-castle-Gironde_how-to-get-to_coordinates_tourism-min-683x1024.jpg 683w, https://all-andorra.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/06/Tastes-castle-Gironde_how-to-get-to_coordinates_tourism-min-768x1152.jpg 768w, https://all-andorra.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/06/Tastes-castle-Gironde_how-to-get-to_coordinates_tourism-min-800x1200.jpg 800w" sizes="(max-width: 900px) 100vw, 900px" /></a></p>
  617. <p>Only a wall, pierced by a trilobed opening, remained from this period. Remains of twin bays and chimneys attest to the existence, in the Middle Ages, of the main building leaning against the curtain walls, on the northwest side.</p>
  618. <p>On the facade overlooking the plateau of <a href="https://all-andorra.com/garonne-river/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>Garonne river</strong></a>, the quadrangular enclosure, flanked by round towers and protected by ditches, retains elements of medieval architecture. The major restorations carried out in the 19th century particularly concerned the facade overlooking the river. In the 1970s, the town hall moved into this building.</p>
