While the idea of transporting your vehicle across the Pacific Ocean may seem daunting, with careful planning and the right approach, you can navigate the process with ease. In this guide, we’ll walk you through everything you need to know about shipping your vehicle to Hawaii.

 42.
1. Understand the Logistics

 43.
Shipping a vehicle to Hawaii involves unique logistical considerations due to its remote location and oceanic transport. Unlike domestic auto transport, which typically involves trucking, shipping a car to Hawaii requires transportation by sea. Vehicles are loaded onto cargo ships and transported from the mainland United States to one of Hawaii’s major ports, such as Honolulu or Hilo.

 44.
2. Choose a Reputable Shipping Company

 45.
Selecting a reputable auto shipping company is crucial to ensuring a smooth and hassle-free transportation experience for your vehicle. Look for companies with experience in shipping vehicles to Hawaii, proper licensing and insurance coverage, and positive customer reviews. Obtain quotes from multiple shipping companies to compare services and pricing before making a decision.

 46.
3. Determine the Transport Method

 47.
When shipping your vehicle to Hawaii, you’ll have two main transport options: roll-on/roll-off (RORO) or container shipping.

 48.

 49.

 50.

 51.
RORO: With RORO shipping, your vehicle is driven onto the cargo ship and secured in a designated area. This method is typically more cost-effective but offers less protection against potential damage during transit.

 52.

 53.

 54.

 55.

 56.

 57.

 58.
Container Shipping: Container shipping involves loading your vehicle into a shipping container, providing added protection against external elements and potential damage. While container shipping is generally more expensive, it offers greater security and peace of mind.

 59.

 60.

 61.

 62.

 63. Choose the transport method that best suits your budget and preferences.

 64.
4. Prepare Your Vehicle for Shipping

 65.
Before shipping your vehicle to Hawaii, take the following steps to prepare it for transport:

 66.

 67.

 68.

 69.
Remove all personal belongings from the vehicle.

 70.

 71.

 72.

 73.

 74.

 75.

 76.
Perform a thorough inspection and document any existing damage.

 77.

 78.

 79.

 80.

 81.

 82.

 83.
Ensure that the gas tank is no more than a quarter full.

 84.

 85.

 86.

 87.

 88.

 89.

 90.
Secure or remove any loose or aftermarket parts.

 91.

 92.

 93.

 94.
5. Coordinate Pickup and Delivery

 95.
Coordinate the pickup of your vehicle with the shipping company, ensuring that it arrives at the port of departure on time. Provide accurate contact information and coordinate the delivery location and logistics at the destination port in Hawaii.

 96.
6. Complete Customs and Documentation

 97.
Before your vehicle can be released at the port in Hawaii, you’ll need to complete customs clearance and provide the necessary documentation, including:

 142.

In the dynamic and competitive landscape of the automotive industry, dealerships constantly seek ways to gain a competitive edge and drive growth. One of the most effective strategies to achieve sustainable success is through investing in proper training for your dealership staff. Training not only enhances the skills and knowledge of your team but also fosters a culture of continuous improvement. In this article, we will explore how strategic training can be a catalyst for the growth of your dealership business.

 143.
Product Knowledge and Expertise

 144.
Proper Dealership training begins with imparting comprehensive product knowledge to your sales team. Customers today are more informed than ever, and a well-informed salesperson can build trust and credibility. Ensure that your team is well-versed in the features, specifications, and benefits of each vehicle in your inventory. Regular updates on new models and technologies will empower your sales team to confidently address customer queries and offer personalized recommendations.

 145.
Customer Relationship Management (CRM) Training

 146.
Effective customer relationship management is crucial for long-term success in the dealership business. Invest in training programs that teach your team how to utilize CRM tools effectively. This includes managing customer data, tracking leads, and creating targeted marketing campaigns. A well-implemented CRM system can streamline communication, improve customer satisfaction, and ultimately boost sales.

 147.
Sales Techniques and Negotiation Skills

 148.
Sales skills are at the core of any successful dealership. Provide training on effective sales techniques, including building rapport, active listening, and objection handling. Additionally, equip your team with strong negotiation skills to close deals successfully. Role-playing scenarios during training sessions can help employees practice and refine their skills in a controlled environment.

 149.
Digital Marketing and Online Presence

 150.
In today’s digital age, a strong online presence is essential for attracting customers. Provide training on digital marketing strategies, including social media management, search engine optimization (SEO), and online advertising. Embrace the power of digital platforms to reach a wider audience, engage with potential customers, and drive traffic to your dealership.

 151.
Customer Service Excellence

 152.
Exceptional customer service is a key differentiator in the competitive automotive market. Training programs should focus on instilling a customer-centric mindset among your staff. Emphasize the importance of courtesy, responsiveness, and going the extra mile to exceed customer expectations. Happy customers are more likely to become repeat buyers and advocates for your dealership.

 153.
Leadership and Team Building

 154.
For sustained growth, it’s crucial to invest in leadership and team-building training for your management staff. Strong leadership fosters a positive workplace culture, improves employee morale, and enhances overall team performance. Training in effective communication, conflict resolution, and goal setting will contribute to a more cohesive and motivated workforce.

 155.
Compliance and Regulatory Training

 156.
Stay ahead of industry regulations and compliance requirements by providing regular training on legal and ethical standards. This includes understanding finance and insurance regulations, ensuring transparent business practices, and maintaining compliance with environmental standards. Compliance training minimizes the risk of legal issues and builds trust with customers.

 157.
Conclusion

 158.
In the fast-paced world of automotive dealership, continuous learning and development are essential for success. By investing in proper training for your staff, you not only enhance their skills and knowledge but also position your dealership for sustainable growth. A well-trained team, equipped with the latest industry insights and customer-centric strategies, will contribute to increased sales, improved customer satisfaction, and a stronger market presence. Embrace training as a strategic tool to elevate your dealership business to new heights.

The post Accelerating Growth: Transform Your Dealership Business with Strategic Training first appeared on https://automobiletrendlive.com.

 217.

Effectively handling the complexities of your daily vehicles requires consistent maintenance and a vigilant eye to ensure optimal functionality. However, situations may arise when a dashboard indicator light signals a potential issue, marked by distinctive symbols that can be confusing, particularly while on the road.

 218.
Most motor vehicles integrate emergency lights with similarly designed features, presenting standardized alerts that vary in severity—an indispensable aspect to comprehend.

 219.
Primarily, red lights demand immediate attention, indicating urgency. These warnings range from issues like improperly closed doors or low fuel to more critical concerns such as problems with airbags, seatbelts, battery, power steering, transmission, and braking systems. Red lights in these categories could compromise safety until the issue is resolved.

 220.
Amber lights, exhibiting a subtle orange or yellow hue, act as advisories prompting timely investigation. While immediate action might not be imperative, a prompt resolution is necessary to prevent escalation. Examples include alerts about low fluid levels, such as low washer fluid or low engine oil symbols. The check engine light, a significant amber warning, requires attention as it may signal issues such as engine damage, faulty wiring, an ill-fitting gas cap, or ignition system failure.

 221.
The check engine light, potentially hazardous yet frequently overlooked, is represented by an engine silhouette or the words “check engine” in capital letters. While there’s no cause for panic, promptly consulting a trusted mechanic is advisable to address potential serious issues.

 222.
Lastly, blue, green, and white lights serve as informational cues, posing less immediate concern. These lights typically relate to safe driving or indicate active features rather than signaling a problem. Examples include symbols for lights like high beams or interior lights. When faced with an unfamiliar notification in these colors, consulting your vehicle’s manual or online resources before seeking professional assistance is recommended.

 223.
Whether you’re a new driver or seeking a refresher, cultivating a thorough understanding of your vehicle and its features is essential. 240.

For some, it is possible to use the same tire all year round without worrying about climatic conditions, while for others it is necessary to adapt it according to various criteria. It depends on the geographical area of practice and the nature of the associated terrain, as well as its riding style. When bad weather affects the terrain, mud remains the number one enemy of any mountain biker and the wrong choice of casings can turn an outing into a real nightmare! To avoid endless travel times and repeated falls, here are some practical tips and a range of products that can be found on the market to effectively arm yourself against the elements.

 241.
In some regions, if you want to practice mountain biking all year round, riding in the mud is unavoidable and it is necessary to put on adequate envelopes, especially in winter. And for regular competitors, the changing weather conditions and nature of the terrain make it necessary to have several sets of tires in reserve, including specific mud ones for certain routes that can become one hell of a job. Reconnaissance is mandatory to refine the choices because wet courses are not always synonymous with impassable. The nature of the ground varies from one region to another, from one area to another, versatile tires – even for dry terrain – can pass and we keep all the advantages of our favorite tire in terms of performance. , because a mud tire is very mediocre in this area. The temperature, quantity and frequency of precipitation will be considered to find the best compromise. Depending on the density of the mud and the nature of the ground in depth, several choices may be possible, the specific tire not necessarily being essential.

 242.
With the mud you lose grip, the front tire must have good lateral grip because it is directional, it must also offer good braking. The rear wheel needs traction, braking, but it must be taken into account that it greatly influences performance. Depending on the type of practice, preferably mud, level of technicality, this last point should be strongly considered. A rear suspension is also an asset in the mud, I unlock the rear suspension for the low grip parts. This allows me to have more grip than with a semi-rigid and therefore to use a more rolling tire which will be more advantageous on more compact sections. The Schwalbe Racing Ralph and the Rocket Ron 2.10, Rubena Kratos 2. 25 are tires I use on the rear when the last rain is recent and the mud is quite liquid. They cut thinner than advertised (compared to Michelin, Maxxis or Continental for example). When using thin tire sections, our weight is distributed over a smaller surface and thus generates greater pressure on the surface of the rubber in contact with the ground. We gain grip. Generally, the muddy the terrain, the less brittle it is and the risk of punctures therefore decreases. You can afford a lower pressure of about 0.2 bars compared to the values used in dry weather. The deformation capacities of the tire are improved and grip is gained. I prefer to use fairly thin mixed-terrain tires, inflated at low pressure and ride in full suspension for motor skills. At the front, side crampons must be spaced out. Personally, I like the Mitas Kratos 2.25 (thin size like a 2.10) which also has well-spaced and moderately high central lugs for clearing. At the rear, it will provide more traction than the Schwalbe Racing Ralph or the Rocket Ron. The Hutchinson Toro is somewhat the equivalent, it has larger studs, less spaced but higher than the Kratos. If the mud is thicker, then the Mitas Charybdis in 2.00 will do better due to its thinner section, its profile being equivalent. Finally, in case of big mud or for those for whom performance on less muddy sections is not important, the Schwalbe Dirty Dan,

 243.
There was a time when virtually every brand offered a specific mud tire in the lineup, often narrow section around 1.75 inches wide. These casings were sometimes simply derived from wider general-purpose models in the range, so the narrowness of the tire was used to more easily find grip in depth but also to increase clearance and clearance at the chainstays, seatstays and fork, solutions still used today in XC but more rarely all the same. The qualities of rubbers and carcasses evolving, the wheel diameters having increased, the geometries having evolved towards more efficiency/liveliness/agility, the gear ratios being less imposing and making it possible to roll more supplely in the worst conditions, we can today more avoid using mud tires. Mavic, Panaracer, Ritchey … while others focus only on DH products. If we do not always find mud tires from manufacturers, some brands can nevertheless offer products designed for wet terrain which will be between the general purpose tire and the specific mud tire, this is the case of the Vittoria Gato or Hutchinson Toro (in its XC versions). And it is always possible to recut studs on more versatile tyres, this is still done occasionally in the paddocks and the Michelin Wild Mud – although specific for mud – presented in this list below is even originally planned to be recut if necessary. depending on the consistency of the mud!

The post Which MTB tire for muddy terrain? first appeared on https://automobiletrendlive.com.

 258.

The light train rushes on the rails. In the crowded car, a passenger is listening to an American sitcom ; a little girl chatters and stamps on her seat. A typical scene of travel by public transport, if it were not for the decor: the autonomous vehicle progresses in the hollow of a sort of residential valley whose cliffs are high residential towers. Not a car is visible in the vicinity.

 259.
This scene, sketched in the new city of Punggol, suggests that cars play a secondary role in Singapore. The reality is more complex: outside the residential micro-districts, impeccable motor vehicles drive at high speed on wide boulevards. The car is here a prestigious instrument.

 260.
“Singapore is the most expensive place in the world for cars,” says bluntly Victor Tan, a soft, round-faced 36-year-old sales consultant at a car dealership. Singapore sits at the top of Deutsche Bank’s global rankings . A medium-sized car is twice as expensive there as in Copenhagen or Oslo, which occupy the 2 nd and 3 rd echelons of the ranking.

 261.
Fishermen try their luck in the waters of Lower Seletar Reservoir Park, one of Singapore’s freshwater reservoirs, at the foot of the North-South metro line. The public transport network is constantly boiling. By 2030, three new metro lines will be built or completed.

 262.
The objective was initially motivated by the lack of space, but climatic considerations now also weigh in the balance. The initially incongruous experience of the country-laboratory is now of interest to the rest of the world.

 263.
Five times fewer cars

 264.
Currently, a Toyota Corolla costs $140,000 in Singapore, including taxes and certificate (1.00 Canadian dollars = 1.04 Singapore dollars). In Quebec, the same car retails from $29,000, taxes included. An entry-level Mercedes-Benz costs $240,000 in lion city. In La Belle Province, the same sedan costs $66,000, taxes included.

 265.
The centerpiece of Singaporean taxation consists of an “eligibility certificate”, essential to owning a vehicle. A limited number of these certificates, valid for 10 years, are issued by the government. Every two weeks, the available certificates — freed up by the destruction of a vehicle or by its sale abroad — are put up for auction. In early October, they sold for over $80,000 each.

 266.
Users of the North-South line of the MRT (Mass Rapid Transit) in the early evening. Even at rush hour the subway cars never seem crowded.

 267.
In addition, buyers of a new car must pay general property tax (7%), excise duty (20%), additional registration fees (from 100%) and, since 2018 , pay a penalty if it is a very polluting vehicle (up to $25,000). Gasoline costs about $2.50 per litre, and tolls are imposed.

 268.
says a laughing Mr. Tan, himself the owner of a Honda Civic that paid nearly $100,000 in 2018. Singaporeans, who pay very little income tax, like to “strut around” with their new vehicle and make trips to Malaysia, on the other side of the Strait of Johor.

 269.
The gradual implementation of these dissuasive measures over the past fifty years means that Singapore today has five times fewer vehicles per inhabitant than North American cities, explains Paul Barter, an independent expert on transport issues. “The government is not very democratic, so it had the luxury of being able to impose these unpopular policies and come out unscathed,” he said as he strolled through the Kovan neighborhood.

 270.
Paradoxically, motorists benefit, because of their small number, from an excellent service. No traffic jam affects the country. The very dynamic toll system plays a big part in this. The rates depend, for each segment of boulevard or motorway, on the time of day and of the week. The toll booths are regularly reviewed to avoid slowdowns. Thanks to this system and the very efficient road network, “a third of households that own a car are doing an excellent business”, estimates Mr. Barter, who has lived in Singapore since 2000.

 271.
This native Australian had made an appointment with Le Devoir near a station of the “Mass Rapid Transit” (MRT), the Singapore metro. The six lines and their 130 stations extend their tentacles over the whole country, which can be crossed from end to end in an hour and a half by metro. Two light rail lines, with 40 stations, complete the rail network. Dozens of bus lines are attached to the transport network. The price of a metro trip varies between $1.50 and $2.50, depending on the distance travelled.

 272.
Barter believes. The frequency of buses sometimes leaves something to be desired. Moreover, outside residential areas, it is difficult for users to reach bus stops, as the boulevards are so wide and the pedestrian crossings so rare. Urban planning thus confines pedestrians to well-defined areas, outside the playground of cars.

 273.
In the new city of Punggol in Singapore, the autonomous vehicle of the LRT (Light Rail Transit or light metro) progresses in the hollow of a kind of residential valley, whose cliffs are high residential towers.

The post Where to buy a car is the most expensive in the world first appeared on https://automobiletrendlive.com.

 288.

Whether you’re mountain biking in the forest or taking part in a competition, a good mountain bike tire can make all the difference. Each mountain bike tire is made for specific conditions. While one is great for dry, sandy terrain, another will be most effective on a muddy course. And then there are also versatile MTB tires that are suitable for all kinds of surfaces. How do you know which type of mountain bike tire is suitable for which type of terrain? We explain all this in this buying guide for mountain bike tires.

 289.
We will first see which MTB tire is suitable for which terrain. And then we will look at the composition of a mountain bike tire , because it is not only made of rubber. The type of rubber, tubeless or not, and the number of threads per inch (TPI) are all important elements of a tire.

 290.
Choose the mountain bike tire adapted to the terrain!

 291.
So much for the technical aspects of MTB tires. It’s time to figure out which type of mountain bike tire is right for you. The most important aspect is the terrain you plan to ride on most often. It is mainly the surface that determines your choice of tires.

 292.
Fallen leaves, banked turns and mud? In these cases, grip is essential for the front tire, but you can choose a faster rear tire.

 293.
If you are looking for the optimum combination of grip, light weight and low rolling resistance, you may want to consider mounting another MTB tire front and rear. Schwalbe has even made a special combination for the latest series of MTB tyres. According to Schwalbe, the new Racing Ray Speedgrip and Racing Ralph Speed are the ideal combination to achieve the best performance.

 294.
Why would you better fit two different tires on your mountain bike?

 295.
For mountain bikers, it is common to ride with different tires front and rear. As your front tire is meant to tackle corners, it is essential that it has enough grip. The rear tire, on the other hand, is subjected to a completely different load. Much of your weight rests on it. That’s why you want a rear tire with low rolling resistance but that offers enough braking grip.

 296.
By using the right combination of tires you are less likely to slip. So you can attack MTB trails with more confidence!

 297.
The choice of a certain combination of tires also depends heavily on the surface on which you plan to drive most often.

 298.
For clarity, we’ve listed the most popular mountain bike tire combinations for cross-country mountain biking. This way, you will therefore clearly know which tires you will need to obtain the best possible results!

 299.
Let’s start with the versatile MTB tires. These are characterized by studs of different heights placed relatively close to each other on the tread. The side knobs are a little higher to improve grip in turns.

 300.
Weight and rolling resistance are relatively low without having to compromise on grip. If you are regularly found mountain biking and if you do not need to reach new personal bests every time whatever the weather, most often a versatile mountain bike tire will suffice for your outings.

 301.
MTB tires for dry terrain

 302.
Semi-slick tires lend themselves more to a dry forest or sandy surface. A semi-slick has almost no studs on the tread. The side knobs of this type of tire are a bit higher but still modest.

 303.
A dry forest surface is no longer a problem for you thanks to the semi-slicks. Very fast, but much less grip if you fall on a muddier or wet track on your ride.

 304.
These tires benefit from a very low rolling resistance, while offering you enough grip in the turns thanks to the side studs. This makes these tires very fast. Bear in mind, however, that the grip is insufficient in wetter or muddy conditions.

 305.
MTB tires for wet terrain

 306.
Do you often ride on a wet surface in the forest? Then MTB tires with larger tread and sidewall lugs are a better choice for you. In order to keep the rolling resistance as low as possible, the lugs have moved quite close together.

 307.
A wet forest, but not a big quagmire? It is recommended to choose a low rolling resistance with higher lugs on the sidewalls and lugs placed closer to each other on the tread.

 308.
MTB tires for real mud

 309.
True mud tires are narrower and have big lugs with quite a bit of space between them. Thanks to the narrower tire, you can say that you cut the mud in half, so that your tire finds grip with the hard layer under the mud.

 310.
The disadvantage of tires designed for real mud is that they are not suitable for low pressure. Their rolling resistance is quite high, and on dry, hard terrain, these tires even give you less grip than other tires.

 311.
MTB tires for rocky terrain

 312.
On rocky terrain or on trails full of gravel, a wide tire with high lugs works best. A wide MTB tire increases the contact patch. The high lugs provide good grip on gravel or muddy surfaces.

The post MTB tires for every terrain – Which MTB tires do you need? first appeared on https://automobiletrendlive.com.

 327.

In the section on riding techniques for better motorcycle safety , remember to mention the importance of position on the motorcycle . A good posture allows better control and greater responsiveness in the event of the unexpected. It is necessary to keep the bust slightly tilted forward, the bent elbows and the gaze carried far ahead to anticipate obstacles.

 328.
How many tax horses for a young motorcycle driver?

 329.
Another essential technique is the control of braking. It is recommended to use both brakes simultaneously for optimum efficiency. The correct mix between front and rear brake will depend on road conditions and speed, but think about cogs.

 330.
Managing turns is also a crucial aspect of safe motorcycle riding. Before approaching a bend, you must reduce your speed uphill by mainly using the engine brake in order to avoid any inconvenience when tilting the vehicle in the bend itself.

 331.
Proper use of turn signals is an integral part of safe motorcycle riding. Signaling your intentions to other road users not only avoids any confusion or potential collision, but also helps to build confidence on the road.

 332.
Remaining vigilant about your immediate environment as well as about other users is essential to prevent any potential danger. Constantly observing what is happening around you will allow the rider to anticipate the reckless or inattentive behavior of other drivers.

 333.
By adopting proper riding techniques , proper posture on the motorcycle and remaining aware of their surroundings, riders can significantly reduce the risk of accidents. Safe driving therefore requires technical mastery as well as constant vigilance for oneself and for others.

 334.
Safe driving: techniques to adopt for better safety

 335.
In the quest for safe motorcycle driving , remember to equip yourself correctly. Using the right equipment can make all the difference in the event of an accident or a fall. Here are the essential elements for safe driving.

 336.
The helmet is the key element of motorcyclist protection. It must be approved and well adjusted to the morphology of each. A full-face helmet offers better protection than other types of helmets, as it not only protects the skull but also the face and chin.

 337.
Gloves play a crucial role in protecting the hands during an accident or a fall. They must be shock resistant and have reinforcements at the joints to effectively protect the fingers and wrists.

 338.
Boots, on the other hand, provide optimal protection for the feet and ankles in the event of an accident. They must be solid, offer good support and have a non-slip sole to prevent slipping on wet or oily roads.

 339.
To preserve the integrity of the body in general, it is recommended to wear a leather suit . It constitutes a protective barrier against abrasions during possible contact with rough bitumen. It also offers some thermal insulation which can prove invaluable during long hikes in different climatic conditions.

 340.
Back protectors and protective shells for elbow and knee pads are essential elements to reinforce the safety of the motorcyclist. They absorb part of the energy in the event of an impact and thus effectively protect the body against possible serious injuries.

 341.
It is essential to emphasize that all this equipment must be certified in accordance with the safety standards in force. It is imperative to regularly maintain your equipment to ensure its proper functioning and durability over time.

 342.
Safe motorcycling requires suitable equipment which guarantees the protection of the motorcyclist in the event of an accident or a fall.

 343.
Essential equipment: accessories to have for safe driving

 344.
In order to adopt anticipatory driving and to react effectively to potential dangers, here are some essential tips to take into account.

 345.
It is crucial to remain constantly aware of your surroundings. Pay particular attention to the vehicles around you, monitor blind spots and keep a sufficient distance from other road users. Anticipating the unpredictable behavior of motorists can go a long way to avoiding dangerous situations.

 346.
Develop your sense of observation. Be alert to non-verbal cues emitted by drivers such as gaze or body position. This can give you a clue as to their intentions and make your decisions easier when it comes to changing lanes or entering an intersection.

 347.
Along the same lines, actively use your mirrors to regularly check what’s going on behind you. Knowledge of the road context will allow better anticipation of the movements of other vehicles and therefore greater responsiveness in the event of imminent danger.

 348.
Always maintain a speed appropriate to the road conditions. Reducing your speed in urban areas or when visibility is limited is essential to guarantee your safety and that of other road users.

 349.
Learn how to correctly manage your curve trajectory. Mastering this fundamental skill will help you avoid skidding and maintain control of your bike, even in difficult conditions.

 350.
Wet or frozen roads can be particularly slippery, hence the importance of adapting your speed and being even more attentive to potential dangers.

The post Practical tips for safe motorcycling first appeared on https://automobiletrendlive.com.

 365.

In addition, the country of origin of the car can have an impact on its maintenance and in particular the technical control . This may be less complete than in France and there may be a blockage during its import. We recommend that you make sure that the car is already registered in France by the seller before buying it.

 366.
Check the history of a used car

 367.
It is never really easy to know the history of a used car. The history corresponds to the operations and procedures that the used car has received , namely:

 368.
The maintenance log. It allows you to check if all the maintenance operations have been carried out.

 369.
Maintenance bills. They allow you to see the parts that have been changed on the vehicle.

 370.
The technical control (if the used car is more than 4 years old. Otherwise it must be carried out every 2 years).

 371.
Histovec report. It includes in particular the administrative situation of the used vehicle (pledges, objections, seizure, suspension, theft, etc.).

 372.
If the owner is able to provide you with all these documents, you can certify that the vehicle is in good condition and has no defects. It is also a guarantee of quality and trust.

 373.
Inspect and test drive the used car

 374.
Inspecting means walking around the car in static, either outside or inside. Outside, you will have to check the condition of the rims because a damaged rim can have repercussions on the direction of the car and involve generally expensive repairs.

 375.
Also check tire wear. Uneven wear, for example with slightly more wear on the outside of the car than on the inside, typically reflects a geometry problem.

 376.
We also advise you to check the condition of the bumpers and their mountings (they must not move): if they move, this may be a sign of a previous accident and this will most of the time require replacement. the room. With a light or the flash of a phone, you will be able to detect any signs of body repair . These will be highlighted by non-homogeneous reflections.

 377.
Also check under the body , especially on the engine side to see if nothing has planed (scratch on the engine cover) and if there is no leak .

 378.
Do not hesitate to open the bonnet to check the condition of the engine and its maintenance : a well-maintained engine is a guarantee of quality. However, beware of an engine compartment that is too clean: if it has just been washed, this may reflect the desire to hide traces of fluid leaks (oil, etc.). You can also check levels, including engine oil and brake fluid.

 379.
Inside the cabin, you’ll have to rely on the car’s mileage . A lightly used car does not have the same state of wear as a mileage used car. You can spot any stains or holes (due to smoking or wear) on the seats, the ceiling… Check the condition of the plastics, any scratches and pay attention to the condition of the driver’s seat especially.

 380.
Also be interested in the mileage , especially if it is an imported used car. Indeed, European legislation differs on the subject of the mileage of a car. In France, the legislation is very strict and strongly punishes odometer fraud . Some neighboring countries do not have the same requirements. Thanks to the condition of the passenger compartment, you should be able to know if the mileage is in line with the wear and tear of the vehicle: for example, a patinated steering wheel is synonymous with high mileage. The state of wear of the seats and the floor can also guide you. Before buying, rely on maintenance invoices and technical control .

 381.
You have to try a used car

 382.
Buying a used car is first and foremost about trying it out ! Indeed, one model is not suitable for everyone and you must make sure that the used car you try is suitable for you.

 383.
Trying out a used car also means making sure that there are no unusual mechanical noises or suspicious body movements . The test of a used car should not be less than 15 minutes in order to detect the maximum of suspicious noises (if there are any) and to be able to test on different types of roads. You will then have to listen carefully, on the lookout for the slightest noise, and be at the same time concentrated on the cash movements:

 384.
Do not hesitate to drive around the vehicle with the engine running so as not to be bothered by the insulation of the passenger compartment.

 385.
It is therefore important before buying a used car to check the commercial name of the car in order to be sure that you are buying a car with the right finish and the standard equipment that goes with it . In the event of a sale between private individuals, you must imperatively ask for the purchase invoice of the vehicle. In the event of purchase from a dealer, the dealer is responsible for the name of the product sold.

 386.
Why buy a used car from a dealership?

 387.
As you will have understood, buying a used car from an individual can be complicated as there are so many elements to check.

 388.
If you prefer to make a serene purchase without surprises , it is strongly advised to go through a dealer to buy a used car.

 389.
First of all, there is a bond of trust between the seller and the buyer . As a used car professional, he will know how to advise you and he will have nothing to hide from you.

The post Used cars: the 5 points to check before buying first appeared on https://automobiletrendlive.com.

 404.

When choosing your new mountain bike tires, the first thing to know is the size and width of the tires you are currently using. If you do not know them, we give you the instructions in our guide to the basics of tires and inner tubes , because the first indications are given directly by the tires you are using at the moment.

 405.
If you know your tire size and width, you are halfway there. Now is the time to find out what kind of tires you are using.

 406.
Clincher tires (standard, inner tube tires, also called Clinchers). The most common tires on entry-level and mid-range bikes.

 407.
The system relies on an inner tube between the tire and the rim. When you inflate it using the valve, the pressure pushes the tire into position on the rim and locks the rigid bead to the rim groove.

 408.
You can find two types of tube tires: rigid bead tires and flexible bead tires. The rigid bead is made of steel, the flexible one of Kevlar. It’s easy to tell the two apart: you can bend a folding tire, but not a rigid bead tire.

 409.
Here are their advantages and disadvantages:

 410.
Tubeless tires . Standard on high-end and upper mid-range mountain bikes. Not all mid-range mountain bikes have tubeless tires, but their rims may be compatible; in this case, we are talking about a tubeless ready rim .

 411.
The system is very similar to the traditional tire and rim, but tubeless. To keep the air you need a tire, a rim and a tubeless valve, and a so-called preventive liquid to seal punctures.

 412.
If you want to change the type of tire, here is a comparison of the two:

 413.
Repair of punctures. Tubeless tires are better for small punctures because their sealant seals them. In the event of a larger puncture (holes, cracks), it is easier to change an inner tube.

 414.
Traction, control and/or comfort. Tubeless tires are better here, as they allow you to ride with very low pressure without risking a pinch flat, as shown in the image below:

 415.
First you should know that while you can use an inner tube on a tubeless rim, a tubeless tire cannot be used on a conventional rim. There are subtleties to be developed here, but we will leave them for a future article.

 416.
We will now go into the details of the most common tire widths in mountain biking: this is an important factor in choosing the right tire for the right practice.

 417.
The most common tire widths in mountain biking

 418.
For each discipline there is a range of widths to suit different terrains and circumstances. The greater the difficulty, the wider the tire must be.If you want to switch to wider tyres, remember two things.

 419.
The combinations of an endless list of tread designs with multiple compounds and different casing TPIs offer such variety that you are bound to find the right tire for the right practice.

 420.
The design and arrangement of the lugs of the tire determine the direction in which you should mount it. An arrow usually shows you the rolling direction. Some mountain bike tires have two arrows: “Front” (or Avant) designating the direction for the front wheel, and “Rear” (or rear) for the rear wheel.

 421.
The tread is divided into three zones: center (the center), transition (the intermediate zone), cornering (the side, named after the English word for cornering because it comes into contact with the ground when cornering ) .

 422.
The tire will be adapted for a particular terrain and/or for a specific practice depending on the size of its studs, their shape, their orientation, their spacing and their arrangement in the three parts of the tread. Here are some general concepts:

 423.
Many riders use different tires in terms of front and rear lug width and size. For example: a wider front tire with deep lugs at the cornering for better grip, combined with a narrower rear tire with thinner lugs for more speed.

 424.
Basically, hard compound costs less, lasts longer and goes faster, so is used as the base for the entire tread and for the center of the tread. Soft rubbers offer better traction but last less, and are therefore mainly used in the cornering area, on the sides of the tire. There is a wide variety of rubbers, from the hardest to the softest, and everything in between. Manufacturers combine them to offer tires specific to each discipline, each terrain, all conditions and all styles.

 425.
The number of threads per square inch in the carcass. Tires with a higher TPI (above 100-120) are smoother and faster, but offer less puncture protection.

 426.
Low TPI casings (below 60) use thicker threads and more rubber. The result is a tougher and stiffer tyre, but also a slower one. They are mainly used in Enduro and downhill.

 427.
We hope this guide will help you choose the right tire for your type of mountain bike, the use you make of it, and the terrain you ride it on. Switching to the right tire has the potential to completely redefine the quality of your experience, reduce flats and/or improve control, comfort, handling and, most importantly, your safety.

The post How to choose tires for your mountain bike first appeared on https://automobiletrendlive.com.
