The starting lineup for Game 2 of the Gwangju doubleheader has been announced.
The Kia Tigers and SSG Landers will face off in the second game of a doubleheader at Kia Champions Field in Gwangju on Wednesday, starting at 5:40 p.m. In game one of the doubleheader, which started at 2 p.m., Kia won 3-2 behind a five-inning, one-run shutout by starter Hwang Dong-ha, a game-winning home run by Kim Sun-bin, and a 1⅔-inning perfect save by Jung Hae-young in relief.

Hanwha Eagles high school rookie left-handed pitcher Cho Dong-wook (20) earned the win in his professional debut. It is the 11th time in history that a high school rookie has won his debut.
Cho started the game against the Kiwoom Heroes of the 2024 Shinhan Solar Bank KBO League at Hanwha Life Eagles Park in Daejeon on Wednesday and pitched six innings of three-hit ball, allowing one run (unearned).
While he didn’t strike out any batters, he walked just one and gave up just one hit.
After giving way to Lee Min-woo in the top of the seventh inning with his team leading 7-1, Cho earned the win as Hanwha went on to win 8-3.
Drafted by Hanwha with the 11th overall pick in the second round of the 2024 First-Year Player Draft, Cho made his first start in a first-team game after playing exclusively in the Futures (Second Division) League since joining the organization.
The 6-foot-2, 190-pounder with a variety of pitches has appeared in five games in the Futures League, posting a 2-1 record with a 2.74 ERA.
<h2 class="wp-block-heading">It is the 11th time in history that a high school rookie pitcher has won his debut.</h2>
It has happened twice this year for Hanwha. Hwang Jun-seo pitched five innings of one-run ball against the KT Wiz in Daejeon on March 31 this year, tying him for the 10th most in history.
He is only the third player in Hanwha history to do so, after Ryu Hyun-jin and Hwang Jun-seo in 2006.
It was the first time in six years that a high school rookie pitcher recorded a quality start (six or more innings pitched and three or fewer earned runs allowed) in his debut since Samsung Lions’ Yang Chang-seop tossed six scoreless innings against the Gwangju Kia Tigers on March 28, 2018.
Throwing a mix of fastballs, sliders and changeups up to 145 kilometers per hour, Cho was efficient as he lasted six innings on 70 pitches.

While Cho was on the mound, Hanwha’s bats were hot.

In the bottom of the third inning, a wild pitch put runners on first and third, scoring Choi Jae-hoon from third base. Later, Jonathan Peraza’s infield grounder to second base was misplayed by the second baseman, allowing Choi, who was at second, to come home.
Hanwha added a run in the bottom of the fourth after Kim Tae-yeon doubled, Moon Hyun-bin singled and Choi Jae-hoon was hit by a pitch to load the bases.
With the bases loaded, Choi In-ho grounded out to shortstop and Ahn Chi-hong hit a sacrifice fly to center field to make it 5-1.
Hanwha added two more runs in the bottom of the fifth inning after back-to-back singles by Noh Si-hwan and Hwang Young-mook put runners on second and third, but Kim Tae-yeon hit a double to left field and Moon Hyun-bin followed with an infield grounder.
In the bottom of the seventh, Choi Jae-hoon hit a two-run double to right-center to make it 8-1.
Hanwha got two runs back in the top of the eighth when Kim Kyu-yeon hit a two-run homer to center off Lim Ji-yeol, but Kiwoom would get no closer. Cho Dong-wook also secured the win in his debut.

The NH Bank FIBA 3×3 Hongcheon Challenger 2024 was held on May 11 and 12 at the special court of Hongcheon Tori Forest Urban Forest Park in Hongcheon, Hongcheon-gun, Gangwon-do. Sixteen 3×3 teams from around the world competed in the event.
World powerhouses such as the United States (Princeton), Latvia (Adage), the Netherlands (Utrecht), and Germany (Düsseldorf) participated. It is the only international 3×3 basketball tournament held in Korea this year. Korea was represented by four teams – Seoul, Busan All One Bank, Hamo Jinju, <a href="https://www.texasholdemsite.info/" title="">텍사스홀덤사이트</a> and Budget Hanwool – but all of them failed to advance to the quarterfinals.

One of the most talked-about players of the tournament was Donchichi. It was Alan Borger (27, 193cm) from <a href="https://www.bsc.news/post/2024-safety-slotsite-rankings-free-online-slot-site-recommendations-top15" title="">Düsseldorf</a>, Germany, who was nicknamed “Chop Chop” for his look-alike resemblance to Don Chi-chi. But it wasn’t just a physical resemblance; like Doncic, he was also a master of advanced individual skills such as the Eurostep and step-back jump shot. Korean fans who first saw him on the basketball court quickly became fans.
Allen’s Düsseldorf fell to Japan’s Utsunomiya 18-21 in the first match of the main draw on Nov. 11. Düsseldorf advanced to the quarterfinals with a 21-10 victory over Seoul, which was led by No. 1-ranked Kim Jung-hyeon of South Korea.
Düsseldorf’s quarterfinal opponent on Wednesday was top-seeded Princeton of the United States, who put up a good fight but fell short, 14-21. Allen led the team in scoring with five points. However, his 1-of-6 shooting from outside the arc did not help. He had the looks, but not the skills.
I caught up with Allen after the tournament and he said: “The Americans were very tough and physical. It was hard to make shots against them. They made all the tough shots. They just played better. Our original goal was to finish in the top three and qualify for the <a href="https://thedyrt.com/member/texaasholdemm0/reviews" title="">Masters League</a>, but we didn’t make it,” he said.
He also said he resembles Doncic. “I hear it all the time. Every time I go to a tournament, 50 people come up to me and say that. I’ve never actually seen Doncic. Sometimes I can see the resemblance,” he laughs.
If he were to represent Germany at the Paris Olympics, could he see Doncic? “It would be nice to go to Paris, but I can’t go. I don’t play for Germany. Maybe I’ll get a chance to see Doncic next time.”
We also asked him about his first impressions of Korea. “It’s my first time in Korea and I love it. Before I came to <a href="https://hanson.net/users/texaasholdemm0" title="">Hongcheon</a>, I went to Seoul to sightsee. The people are very friendly. I would like to see more of Korea, but we have to go back to Germany tomorrow. It’s a shame for us. We hope to come back next time and see Korea properly.”
He also said that the Korean fans really liked him in the short time he played for them. “I like the Korean fans too. Even though they didn’t speak English, I could tell they loved me.
