45.
New Delhi: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday launched a scathing attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s remarks that dared PM Modi to get a CBI or ED probe into whether industrialists Adani and Ambani sent their ‘party money to Tempo’.

 46.
Rahul Gandhi hit back at PM Modi when the latter attacked him at an election rally asking why he stopped naming Adani and Ambani in his attacks and whether he received money from them in return.

 47.
In a video message, the Gandhi clan took a swipe at the prime minister, questioning whether Modi’s comments stemmed from personal experience of businessmen on remittances.

 48.
In a video message, Rahul Gandhi said, “The money that PM Modi has given to two businessmen, the Congress party will give the same amount to the people of India for the various schemes it has promised.”

 49.
Continuing his criticism, the Wayanad MP said in a video message, “Modiji, are you a bit scared? Usually you talk about Adani and Ambani behind closed doors, but for the first time you have talked about Adani and Ambani in public”.

 50.
Is that your personal experience’, says Rahul

 51.
Rahul further added, “You also know that they give money in tempo. Is that your personal experience? Gandhi said. Do one thing – send CBI, ED to them and do a thorough investigation and don’t panic.”

 52.
Rahul took to social media and posted in Hindi on X, “The country knows who is the driver and helper of BJP corruption tempo”.

 56.
PM Modi lashed out at the Congress during an election rally in Telangana on Wednesday, alleging a secret deal between the party and industrialists Ambani and Adani. PM Modi questioned whether the Congress had received a “tempo load of black money” from these traders.

 57.
He criticized Gandhi on everything from the Rafale issue to targeting the ‘five industrialists’. Then he started saying Ambani-Adani.

 58.
PM Modi lashed out at the Congress, saying, “But since the election has been announced, these people (Congress) have stopped vilifying Ambani-Adani. I want to ask from the land of Telangana, let Shahejada announce, how much from Ambani.” The amount has been withdrawn. Are Ambani-Adani closed overnight? he said while addressing an election rally in Telangana.

 79.
Richa Chadha is praising her performance in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar. The actor plays Lajjo in the Netflix series, who is mostly depressed and alcoholic, and longs for the Nawab’s love and acceptance.

 80.
In the new interview Along with Pooja Talwar, when Richa was asked about Nora Fatehi’s recent comment in which she said that ‘women should nurture’, the actor said that she does not completely agree with telling women what to do and what not to do and her opinion on the matter. gave an opinion.

 81.

 82.
What did Richa say?

 83.
In an interview, Richa said, “The beautiful thing about feminism is that it accepts people who seek the benefits of feminism but deny being feminists. A person is able to have a career, where they want to be independent to choose what work they want to wear because of feminism and the predecessors who decided that women needed jobs to work there, not just be. at home So I think it’s a misguided reaction to some misinformed bra-burning anarchy scene from the late 60s. It’s not really a realistic understanding.”

 84.
‘Not all roles are defined as gender roles’

 85.
She further added that cues should be learned from nature, and gave an example of how a lion family copes after the birth of a cub. “All roles are defined not as gender roles, but as people who share the responsibility of bringing a child into the world. And I don’t fully agree that women should be this way. And not like this. I’m surprised it was actually said,” she said.

 86.
It all started when Nora Fatehi said on the Ranveer show, “Feminism. I don’t believe in this *** in fact, I think, feminism has completely up***** our society… many men are now also brainwashed by the feminism era… if any man is more Can act as providers, and protectors, then women can focus on being more nurturers.”

 108.
HOUSTON – Nine of 10 wrongful-death lawsuits filed after a deadly crowd surge at the 2021 Astroworld music festival have been settled, including one set for trial this week, a lawyer said Wednesday.

 109.

 110.
Jury selection was scheduled to begin Tuesday in a wrongful-death lawsuit filed by the family of 23-year-old Houston resident Madison Dubisky, who was one of 10 people killed during a crowd crush at a Nov. 5, 2021, concert by rap. Superstar Travis Scott.

 111.
But Neil Mann, an attorney for Live Nation, the festival’s promoter, and one of the people suing Scott, said during a court hearing Wednesday that only one wrongful-death lawsuit remains and nine others have been settled, including one that was filed. . The Dubisky family.

 112.
Noah Wexler, attorney for Dubisci’s family, confirmed during the court hearing that their case has been “completely resolved.”

 113.
The terms of the settlement were confidential and attorneys declined to comment after the court hearing because of a gag order in the case.

 114.
“Mr. Scott is grateful that a resolution has been reached without the need for a trial,” said Ted Anastasiou, the rapper’s representative. “Confidential agreement will honor Madison Dubiskey’s legacy and promote reforms for concert safety.”

 115.
After Dubisky’s death, his family started a foundation called Pink Bows focused on improving safety at outdoor concerts and similar events.

 116.
A wrongful death lawsuit is still pending by the family of 9-year-old Ezra Blount, the youngest person killed during the concert. Attorneys for the lawsuit were scheduled to meet next week to discuss when the lawsuit filed by Blount’s family could be scheduled for trial.

 117.
“This case is ready for trial,” Scott West, attorney for Blount’s family, said in court.

 118.
But Manne said lawyers for suing him and the other defendants aren’t ready.

 119.
State District Judge Kristen Hawkins said she plans to discuss the Blount case at a hearing next week, along with possible trials related to injury cases filed after the deadly concert.

 120.
Hawkins said that if the Blount family’s lawsuit is not settled, he is inclined to schedule it as the next trial rather than an injury case.

 121.
More than 4,000 plaintiffs filed hundreds of lawsuits after the concert. Manne said about 2,400 injury cases are pending.

 122.
Last week it was announced that nearly all of the wrongful death claims had been settled after Dubisky’s case was adjourned. Apple Inc., which livestreamed Scott’s concerts and is one of more than 20 defendants being sued by Dubisci’s family, appealed a court ruling that denied its request to dismiss the case. An appeals court granted Apple a stay in the case.

 123.
In the days following the trial stay, attorneys for Dubisky’s family settled their lawsuit with all the defendants in the case, including Apple, Scott and Live Nation, the world’s largest live entertainment company.

 124.
At least four wrongful death lawsuits were previously settled and disclosed in court records. But Wednesday was the first time lawyers in the lawsuits gave an update that nine of the 10 wrongful-death lawsuits have been resolved.

 125.
Attorneys for Dubisky’s family, as well as attorneys representing various other plaintiffs, have alleged in court filings that the deaths and hundreds of injuries at the concert were caused by negligent planning and a lack of concern for capacity and safety at the event.

 126.
The ages of those killed ranged from 9 to 27. He died of compression asphyxia, which one expert compared to being run over by a car.

 127.
“As the youngest victim, Ezra’s terror must have been unimaginable as the surge of the crowd tore him from the safety of his father’s shoulder and then crushed the life out of his tiny body and choked him,” said Blount’s family attorney Bob Hilliard. Statement after Wednesday’s hearing.

 128.
Scott, Live Nation and others who have been sued have denied the claims and said safety is their No. 1 concern. They said what happened could not have been predicted.

 129.
After a police investigation, a grand jury last year declined to indict Scott and five other people connected to the festival.

Asked about the deepfake video going viral and if he felt it as a threat, Rao said there should be strict laws against abuse. AI and people should have proper information about the use of technology. He said that a very small percentage of the country’s population is aware of Al.

 152.
“If someone misuses it or anything, there should be very strict laws,” he said, adding that steps should also be taken to prevent misuse. Speaking about the film, Rajkumar said that he was confused after learning about Srikanth’s life.

 153.
“When I came to know about Srikanth’s life, when I heard his story from Tusshar for the first time, I was also very impressed. I was very inspired that a person who is visually impaired has achieved so much at such a young age. So I made this Storytelling is very important to spread to the world because we all need inspiration in our lives, sometimes, we want to come out of a situation that will entertain and inspire you.”

 154.
In ‘Srikanth’, Rajkumar portrays the life of Srikanth Bola. The story of the film revolves around the inspiring journey of businessman Srikant Bholla, who did not let his visual impairment stand in the way of setting up Bolant Industries.

 155.
Talking about how he prepared for the role, the actor added, “It was necessary. That preparation was necessary for this film as I have never played a visually impaired role before. So, it all started when I started going to a blind school. I started working with a lot of people who were visually impaired in real life. I would sit and talk with him for hours. I used to take videos and watch those videos many times. Just to understand their perception and what they feel about the world and how they deal with situations. I spent a lot of time with Srikanth as I am portraying his life on screen. So, I got a lot from him which I used in my acting.” Apart from Rajkumar Rao, the film also stars Jyothika and Sharad Kelkar in lead roles. The film will hit theaters on May 10, 2024.

The arena where Swift is appearing says Americans bought 20% of the tickets for her four sold-out shows. Stockholm, the tour’s next stop, is expected to draw about 10,000 from the US to the concert.

 178.
A concert seems like an odd raison d’être to visit a foreign country, especially since fans can now watch Eras tour from home via a documentary streaming on Disney. Yet online travel company Expedia says the continent-hopping by Swift’s devotees is part of a larger trend known as “tour tourism,” observing a pattern that emerged during Beyoncé’s Renaissance world tour.

 179.
Some North American fans who plan to fly overseas for the Eras tour said they saw the cost overseas as no more expensive — and potentially cheaper — than catching Swift closer to home because of strict restrictions on ticket fees and resale in Europe. justified.

 180.
“They said, ‘Wait a minute, I can either spend $1,500 to see my favorite artist in Miami, or I can take that $1,500 and get concert tickets, round-trip plane tickets and three nights in a hotel room,'” Melanie Fish, an Expedia spokeswoman and travel expert, said.

 181.
That was the experience of Jennifer Warren, 43, who lives in St. Catharines, Ontario’s Niagara region. She and her 11-year-old son love the Swift but, unable to score a decent-priced ticket in the U.S., Warren and her husband decided to plan a European vacation wherever they could manage to get seats. It turned out to be Hamburg, Germany.

 182.
“You get out, you see the world, and you see your favorite artist or artist at the same time, so it’s a win-win,” said Warren, who serves as director of research and innovation. For mutual insurance company.

 183.
The three VIP tickets she got close to the stage – “I’d call it brute force dumb luck” – cost 600 euros each. Swift then announced six November tour dates in Toronto, which is within driving distance of Warren’s home. “Absolute nose-bleed seats” are already going for C$3,000 on secondary resale sites like Viagogo, Warren said. Tour Tourism: Is It Really a Thing?

 184.
Hard-core fans following their favorite singer or band on tour is not a new phenomenon. “Groupie” emerged as a somewhat derogatory term for ardent followers of rock bands in the late 1960s. Deadheads took to the streets in the 1970s to chase the Grateful Dead from city to city.

 185.
More recently, music festivals like Coachella in California and Glastonbury in England, and concert residencies in Las Vegas by the likes of Elton John, Lady Gaga and Adele, have drawn tourists to places they might not have otherwise visited, Fish noted.

 186.
Travel and entertainment analysts have also spoken of consumer demand for “experiences” over physical things after the coronavirus pandemic. Some believe that music lovers’ desire to expand their fandom horizons is part of the same mass cultural reformation.

 187.
“It looks like it’s more of a structural change, maybe a personality change that we’ve all been through,” said Natalia Lachmanova, chief Europe economist at the MasterCard Economics Institute.

 188.
As Swift hopscotches across Europe, Lachmanova expects restaurants and hotels to see the same boost that MasterCard saw within a 2.5-mile radius of concert venues in US cities visited in 2023. A stronger value of the US dollar against the euro could also boost retail spending. Fans exchange supplies for apparel, memorabilia, beauty products and friendship bracelets as part of the Eras Tour experience, the economist said.

 189.
Former college roommates Lizzie Hale, 34, of Los Angeles, and Mitch Goulding, 33, of Austin, Texas, already had tickets to see the Eras tour in L.A. last summer when they decided to try to get tickets to Paris, London or even Edinburgh, Scotland. They saw a concert trip to Europe as the makeup of travel plans they had made to celebrate Goulding’s birthday in May 2020, but had to cancel it due to the pandemic.

 190.
Goulding managed to secure VIP tickets to one of Swift’s three Stockholm shows. He, Hale and two other friends decided on a 10-day trip that included time in Amsterdam and Copenhagen.

 191.
“For people who enjoy traveling and enjoy music, if you can find an opportunity to combine the two, it’s really special,” said Hale, who is pregnant with her first child. For Stockholm, 120,000 Swifties can’t be wrong

 192.
The local economic impact of what Zeitgeist calls “swiftonomics” and “swift lift” can be significant. No wonder the Singaporean government’s exclusive arrangement with Swift earlier this year to make the city-state her only tour stop in Southeast Asia sparked regional envy.

 193.
No European governments have complained about their countries not being among the dozen selected for the Europe leg of the Eras Tour, although some fans expressed surprise that Gelsenkirchen, a city of around 264,000, was one of three German cities to make the cut.

 194.
Airbnb reported on Tuesday that UK cities on its platform where Swift is performing in June and August – Edinburgh, Liverpool, Cardiff and London – saw an average increase of 337% when tickets went on sale last summer.

 195.
Not to be outdone when it comes to trend-spotting, the property rental company cited demand as an example of “passion tourism” or “driven by concerts, sports and other cultural events.”

 196.
In Stockholm, 120,000 out-of-towners from 130 countries – including 10,000 from the US – are expected to descend on the Swedish capital this month, said Carl Bergqvist, chief economist of the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce. Stockholm is the only Scandinavian city on Swift’s tour, and the airline added extra flights from nearby Denmark, Finland and Norway to bring people to the May 17-19 show, he said.

 197.
The city’s 40,000 hotel rooms are sold out even as prices for tour dates skyrocket, Bergquist said. Concert visitors are expected to spend about 500 million Swedish kroner, or more than $46 million, in the local economy during their stay, an estimate that does not include what they paid for Swift tickets or to travel to Sweden, he said.

 198.
“So this will be huge for the tourism sector in Sweden and Stockholm in particular,” Bergqvist said.

 199.
Nightclubs, restaurants and bars are seizing the opportunity to cater to fans with Taylor Swift-themed events, such as karaoke, quizzes and post-concert dance parties.

 200.
Houston resident Carolyn Matlock, 29, saw Swift more than a year ago when the Eras tour came to the Texas city. Now she’s making more friendship bracelets and trying to learn a few words of Swedish as she prepares for a 3 1/2-hour show in Stockholm. It was his friend’s idea to see Swift in Europe, and Matlock needed some convincing at first.

 201.
“I was like, ‘I only want to go if it’s a country I haven’t been to. I’ve seen Taylor Swift,” she said.

 202.
Visits to the Scandinavian cities of Oslo and Gothenburg are on their itinerary. The concert is the last night of the trip, and Matlock is eager to interact with Swifties from other countries: “Americans have a very obsessive culture, especially Taylor Swift-related, so I’m curious if the crowd will be more toned-down.” Will the tour survive the ages?

 203.
It remains to be seen whether the music tourism trend will have legs as long and strong as Swift and Beyonce, and whether it will carry Billie Eilish, Usher and other artists with world tours scheduled next year. Expedia Fish believes that other big-name acts in Europe this summer will prove that foreign travel bookings continue to be made around concerts.

 204.
Nashville-based travel consultant Kate Morga isn’t so sure. Morga saw Swift perform in Nashville last year and helped two clients with school children book a European family vacation this summer that included seeing Swift in concert. But she believes the difficulty of navigating ticket purchases through language barriers, currency conversions, international banking regulations and cancellation risks will limit the appeal of regular gig gateways.

 205.
“I think this is an anomaly,” Morga said. “People don’t normally go to make their $20,000 huge family vacation because Taylor Swift is there. She’s one-off. She’s special.”

 206.
Glenn Fogel, CEO of Booking Holdings, whose company operates Booking.com, priceline.com, agoda.com, Kayak and OpenTable, is even less enthusiastic about concert tours as a tourism motivator. The Swift effect causes “a bit of a blip” when superstars go to smaller places, but for the global travel industry, “one star moving around doesn’t matter,” he said.

 207.
“It might change it a little bit. One guy was going to go to the Caribbean for a week’s vacation. Instead the guy’s like, ‘Let’s travel to the Taylor Swift thing,'” Fogel said. “It doesn’t increase. It just moves it from here to there.”

 208.
Colleen Berry in Milan, Chisato Tanaka in Stockholm, Anne D’Innocenzio in New York, David Koenig in Dallas, Thomas Adamson in Paris and Brian Maley in London contributed reporting.

 245.
Amid the political chatter, one name has consistently come up in controversy: Sam Pitroda. After sparking outrage over his “racially” insensitive comments, Pitroda resigned from his post as Indian Overseas Congress (IOC) president on Wednesday. His latest comment sparked a firestorm of criticism.

 246.
In an interview with The Statesman, Pitroda commented, “We can hold together a country as diverse as India, where people from the east look like Chinese, people from the west look like Arabs, people from the north look like whites and people from the south look Like Africa.”

 247.
The remarks were widely condemned by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at his rallies in South India today. The BJP also left no stone unturned in criticizing Pitroda’s remarks.

 248.
This is not the first time Pitroda has landed in trouble for his comments, last month he courted a political controversy with his “US has an inheritance tax” remark, which hurt the Congress party enough to distance itself from his “personal opinion. ”

 249.
Pitroda has been in the headlines quite a few times now. As the dust settles on this latest comment row, here’s a look at Sam Pitroda’s profile and his tryst with controversy.

 250.
Who is Sam Pitroda? A long-standing figure in Congress circles

 251.
Pitroda, known for his controversial comments on sensitive topics, has been a top figure in the Congress party for years, has been referred to as Rahul Gandhi’s “mentor” and has been instrumental in formulating the party’s manifesto and political strategy over the years. .

 252.
As president of the Indian Overseas Congress, his responsibility was to strengthen the party’s global presence and enhance Gandhi’s image internationally.

 253.
His tenure has been surrounded by many controversies. In the run-up to the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, he faced backlash for his comments on the 1984 anti-Sikh rights movement, where he appeared to downplay the severity of the violence.

 254.
“Now what about ’84? Talk about what you have done in the last 5 years. This happened in ’84. What did you do?” Pitroda said, adding that he was condemned by the saffron camp and the PM himself for the remark.

 255.
His comments questioning the focus on building a Ram temple in the country were also criticized. “When the whole nation hangs on Ram temple and Ram Janmabhoomi, it bothers me…For me, religion is something very personal, and national issues are education, employment, growth, economy, inflation, health, environment and pollution. . But no one is talking about it,” he remarked during an event in the US.

 302.
Former President Donald Trump could be sent to New York City’s largest prison, Rikers Island, if he violates another gag order, legal expert Nema Rahmani has said.

 303.

 304.
Rahmani, a former federal prosecutor, warned that it would likely provoke “mass protests and civil unrest.” Daily Express US.

 305.
The warning comes in the wake of Trump’s New York hush money trial, where he was fined $1,000 for another violation of a gag order, which prohibits inflammatory comments about judges and others involved in the case. Earlier, Trump was fined $9,000 for nine separate violations.

 306.
Also read A judge has warned Trump of possible jail time for violating the gag order

 307.
Trump threatens jail again, can he really go to jail?

 308.
Judge Juan M. “It appears that the $1,000 fine is not serving as a deterrent,” said Murchan. Therefore, going forward, this Court has to consider the sanction of imprisonment.

 309.
“(Trump’s statements) threaten to interfere with the fair administration of justice and directly attack the rule of law. I cannot allow it to continue.

 310.
Rahmani speculated on the complications of imprisoning Trump given his Secret Service protection. “It is most likely. Obviously, you’re talking about Trump having Secret Service protection even in prison. So logically, it would be a nightmare…I don’t know if Rikers can contain it,” he said.

 311.
He also highlighted, “We’ve never had a situation where an inmate has had protection like this… but Rikers is likely given proximity to the courthouse.”

 312.
Rahmani noted, “It could lead to mass protests and civil unrest. (Trump) will rail out the truth on social. And the idea of jailing Trump for any length of time is problematic from a public policy standpoint.

 313.
“The country is already divided. And there is a significant percentage of the American people who believe that Trump is being unfairly treated and railroaded by our criminal justice system…but just pictures or video of him in custody, I mean it would really be something else. ”

 314.
Despite Judge Merchan’s stern warning and consideration of jail time, he relented and called, “The last thing I want to do is put you in jail. You are a former president of the United States and possibly the next president. There are many reasons why incarceration is truly a last resort for me. Taking this step would be disruptive to this process.

 315.
Trump’s popularity has paradoxically grown with the legal challenges

 316.
A Morning Consult poll showed him up nine percentage points after his Georgia arrest.

 317.
Rahmani suggested that a prison sentence could further boost Trump’s poll numbers, saying, “This has never happened, you know, with a former president, and maybe the next president, being put in jail.”

 318.
“But Trump is an enigma whenever he’s accused. When he faces some kind of civil or criminal legal issue, his poll numbers seem to jump,” he remarked.

 319.
“He will benefit from it financially and politically. He always comes out ahead.”

 338.
The Congress on Tuesday filed a complaint with the Election Commission against the Bharatiya Janata Party and demanded action against the ruling party over alleged misinformation.

 339.
The Congress alleged that the BJP was “spreading confusion and anger among salaried professionals and the middle class over Rahul Gandhi’s comments about equitable development of the society.”

 340.

 341.
“There is a deliberate and deliberate attempt to create confusion, chaos and anger among salaried professionals and the middle class through misinformation and lies,” PTI quoted All India Professionals Congress chief Praveen Chakraborty as saying.

 342.
Many BJP leaders, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, have accused Congress of conspiring to ‘take away people’s property’ and redistribute it.

 343.
“Congress and its allies have their eyes on your income and assets. The prince of Congress says that if his government is formed then we will find out what all you have. It will be investigated and all these assets will be taken under government control and distributed,” the Prime Minister said at a rally in Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh on Monday.

 344.
The Congress said that during the manifesto launch in Hyderabad on April 6, Rahul Gandhi had talked about the grand old party’s ‘commitment to economic and social justice to ensure a more equitable development of our society’.

 345.
“This message has been deliberately distorted. I bring one such incident to your attention as proof,” PTI quoted Chakraborty as saying.

 346.
Terming it as “fake news”, the Congress leader demanded action against the BJP, saying the ruling party was spreading misinformation about the Congress manifesto and its leaders alleged that if the party came to power, “money Will “redistribute”.

 347.
He complained to the Election Commission against a person with his phone number who had sent messages to professionals on WhatsApp saying that the Congress Party’s manifesto called for redistributing two-thirds of your money to the poor under the Jawaharlal Nehru National Congress. A promise has been made to confiscate the property. Wealth Redistribution Scheme”.

 348.
He also referred to an article in a leading daily using such “misinformation” as its basis.

 349.
Terming the claims as “completely false”, Chakraborty said no such promise was made anywhere in the Congress party’s manifesto.
