35.

Where Do I start?

  36.
Two important first steps to take when starting your interior design project.

  37.
I hear people say, “If I could only get my house decorated the way I want, I would be so much happier, and I would feel complete.” There is a lot of truth to that statement. Coco Chanel said “Our homes are reflections of our hearts.”

  38.
When you walk through the door, is your home authentically you? Each home has a story to tell about its inhabitants. What is your home saying about you? Does it mirror who lives there? Does it show hints of your hobbies, hidden talents, what’s important to you? As an interior designer my desire is not to impose my vision but to help you realize yours! Not everyone can afford an interior designer, but thanks to all the hot design shows available on television today, a lot of people wish they could have one. Well, now you can and it’s YOU!

  39.
There is no greater satisfaction than seeing families sit down together for a meal in a dining room, they once never used. Or to hear that a couple now sits by the fire each night with a glass of wine discussing activities of the day, where there once was no comfortable place in which to settle. Is your home just a stopover that you try to leave as quickly as possible? Does your home have your individual imprint on it? Does your home give you a place to relax and gather strength?

  40.
Lives today are busier than ever and we must have a place to renew and reenergize. While a furniture display in a store may look nice, are all the pieces an exact fit for you? Will you be bored with it in a year because it is trendy and expresses nothing about you? One thing I know for sure is that your environment dictates your life. Are you and your family in need of a true reflection of your authentic selves? There are tricks in every trade and I want to share some of mine with you so you can make your home truly your home.
41. Where do I start?

  42.
Step One: Budget.

  43.
You will want to determine a budget for this project. You should spend only what you can afford to pay in a reasonable amount of time. Be mindful that a remodel and or furnishings are solid investments. If you are thinking of selling your home at some point, it may help to have a great color scheme, with a well-designed décor. When you invest in the best quality foundational pieces that you can afford, such as artwork and area rugs, you will not be compelled to upgrade later.

  44.
The words I hear most often from my clients are “I had no idea how many decisions that I would have to make…there are so many details, I didn’t realize what I was getting myself into!”

  45.
Step Two: Architecture

  46.
The architecture of your home needs to be your leader. You can’t make an Italian Villa out of a contemporary loft, it looks and feels foolish! Research the year in which your home was built. Is it a cottage craftsman or a Tudor? Is your home a mid-century modern ranch? Or is your home a bungalow? You can Google the year your home was built and you can read a wealth of information about the style of your home.

  47.
Example: Search: homes built in 1914.

  48.
When you respect the architecture of your home the furniture will fit like a well-tailored garment. What once was frumpy is now refreshing. My clients use these rooms constantly and are pleased they made the investment in their home.

  49.
Designer Secret: Make your starting point your home’s architecture; it will lead you where you want to go. But keep in mind, rules are made to be broken once in a while – ALL the furniture doesn’t need to be in keeping with the architecture. In small doses, fine-quality antiques or collectible modern pieces can be incorporated into any home.

  69.

For many homeowners deciding on a theme or style for the interior of their home seems about as simple as splitting an atom or negotiating peace in the Middle East. Daunted by an overload of magazines, web-sites, books and television shows each presenting dazzlingly photographed interiors filled with chic, stylish and wildly desirable objects and each slapping an editorial spin on what this look will be called; is it any wonder that most homes languish in an unfocused design haze far longer than necessary?

  70.
To cut through the clutter and the confusion here are 5 Steps to Selecting the Perfect Interior Design Style for Your Home or Apartment:

  71.
1. Understand the Architectural Style in which you will be living. Maybe your home is a California Bungalow or a New England Cape. Maybe your condominium building is heavily influenced by Mediterranean Architecture or is a symphony of modern glass and concrete. Regardless of what’s going on around you to intelligently parse out what will happen inside your home you should have a grasp of your homes’ architectural styling.

  72.
2. Have an opinion on what will happen inside your home. Good design is not for wimps and great design actually necessitates a home’s owner to have well formed opinions about what they want to live with every day. So do your homework. Visit a Designer Show House, tour model homes or spend a Saturday afternoon flipping through pages of design and architecture books and get in touch with what makes you smile. You don’t need to identify every element in the room on the page you just need to know that looking at it makes you smile. While the smile is still fresh on your face place a post-it-note on that page and we’ll come back to it shortly.

  73.
3. Play nicely with those who share the same address. Few things are as tedious as are constantly bickering couples. On the best of days finding harmony amid life’s madness can be a challenge. Please don’t add decorating discord to the list of topics on which you and your spouse joust. No one ever wins these bouts; in fact everyone within earshot actually loses. So think in terms of mutually beneficial negotiations as you hash through the thoughts and ideas shared by your life-partner and seek ways to weave together the single best idea each one brings to the table. Melding two design ideas under one roof is neither revolutionary nor improbable. In fact, it’s been done for decades with happy relationships as a delightful by-product.

  74.
4. Create visible reminders of the agreed upon direction (s) for your home. If “Big-City Modern with a touch of French Empire” is what’s been agreed upon then make it the law of the land by memorializing the decision with a pin-board and shared idea-page. Own the decision which is the result of your hard-fought negotiations by establishing visual markers. This way those in your spheres of influence can hold you to your choice and support you as you together create your new home.

  75.
5. Don’t hesitate to call in professional reinforcements. There are times, both in the negotiation phase and in the shopping phase, when outside help can be priceless. Learn who the pros are in your area who you can call for that bit of non-partisan back-side kicking. And don’t be shy about dialing their number. Writing a check for an hour or two of design consultation can mean the difference between a good room and a great room. You’re worth it being great so do what’s necessary. You won’t regret the call.

  92.

Those days are gone when the design was a secondary element to the production of a good software solution. Amateur developers are taught to jump directly to coding as soon as they gather requirements. They don’t give software design the importance it needs and that is why they often lose potential customers when they find better options. This technique may work well in individual projects but on a large scale or even mid-level project it will only result in chaos.

  93.
“Design is not just what it looks like and feels like. Design is how it works.” -Steve Jobs

  94.
But it’s not like developers don’t know what design is. They’ve just been giving other factors like features more importance. But as the industry changes,Guest Posting companies are focusing more on design than on features. Before we discuss the importance of design let’s first look at the two types of designs.

  95.
Conceptual Design
96. Conceptual design in easy words is mind mapping. Initially, developers lay out the plan conceptually in this phase in a non-technical manner. Different companies adopt different techniques in this phase. Most often the standard techniques being followed are flow charts, CRC diagrams, Component Diagrams, Wireframes, etc.

  97.
Upon completion of the conceptual design, You get a rough idea of the structure of your software. This essentially will enable you to understand the flow. Once you understand the flow the design is a lot easier for you.

  98.
Simple cardboard models, role-playing, or clickable digital prototypes are used to prototype user stories. You understand better through this visual representation. This approach focuses on eliminating mistakes and highlighting possibilities for further development. Alternative business models are created and their prototypes are designed if needed, to uncover where value is added, costs occur, and efficiencies or new revenue streams lie in wait.

  99.
Technical Design
100. In the first phase, you figured out how things were going to be done generally, in this phase, the design shifts to the technical side of things. A technical blueprint is developed that will guide the implementation of the software. The assembly of the software down to each module is started. Developers design many softwares and are very experienced but can get overwhelmed if they don’t follow a set system.

  101.
Adaptability
102. With years of experience in the industry, we have seen technologies come and go. No company can predict the future but they can ensure that the software they build adapts to new requirements, new technology, and new trends. This adds value to your design and makes it robust for years to come.

  103.
Automation
104. During the technical design phase developers should integrate mechanisms to enable automation. This automation later benefits the design by making it a more manageable and efficient system. A hidden benefit of automation is the reduction of the future cost incurred if you need to have the software redesigned or managed.

  105.
Reference Architecture
106. The technical blueprint defines an architecture to assemble your software. Whenever the team decides on architecture, you can always have it referenced. A reference architecture gives you proof that the proposed software design is valid and functioning. Companies that provide a reference architecture ensure that the customer understands that while their design will be unique, a similar design is working for another solution as well.

  107.
What Tools do we Use
108. Some of the common tools that we have been using for years have helped us create better designs for our customers. While looking for a team ensure that they are using some of the following design tools.

  109.
Sketch
110. Sketch is a design platform used to create diagrams, wireframes, and prototypes. It is primarily used for user interface and user experience design of websites and mobile apps. Mastering a tool like Sketch is critical for any designer that will be working on your project.

  111.
                                                                                Design using Sketch

  112.
Moqups
113. Moqups is a similar tool to Sketch. While Sketch is geared towards MacOS, Moqups is web based and OS agnostic. Sketch has more functionality however Moqups can be a good alternative if your designer does not use a Mac computer.

  114.
                                                                           Design using Moqups

  115.
InVision
116. It is a tool that is developed for designers by designers. It is a quick design tool as compared to other design options. Designers create quick mockups for their design and when complete, they share them with you and the remaining team directly.

  117.
                                                                Design using InVision Studio

  118.
Figma
119. You might have heard about the popular tool Sketch. Well, Figma is essentially just all of Sketch’s features but on the Cloud. The benefit of using Figma over Sketch is that it offers Team collaboration which designers had been asking Sketch for a long time.

  120.
Team Collaboration in Design using Figma

  121.
Zeplin
122. Zeplin is a collaboration tool for UI designers and front end developers. It goes beyond the design workflow and helps teams with the design hand-off. It is a web app, so it is pretty much a stand-alone app. This thus enables our designers to access it from anywhere around the world.

  123.
                                                                 Team Collaboration using Zeplin

  124.
Some other common tools like Adobe Illustrator, etc. can also be used just to make sure the team uses some good tools to ensure your design is the best possible.

  125.
Why is Software Design Important?
126. “There’s a saying in the software design industry: Good, fast, cheap. Pick two.”

  127.
The software industry is very competitive. Each company has some sort of edge over the other. But no matter what methodology a software project follows, no matter what edge a software company has, each successful project has one thing in common: A Good Design, UI & UX both. There was a time where a company could rely on a superior product’s features and functions to coast for a year or more before competitors could catch up. But nowadays, companies are gaining a competitive advantage based on good designs alone.

  128.
Good design enables your project to have a few of the following qualities. These qualities ensure that your project is complete and enables you to have long term benefits from your software system.

  129.
Maintainability
130. A good design will make it easier for you to have your software maintained. A software’s design defines the ease your system will have when introducing new features. It should be able to integrate changes without changing the existing code.

  131.
Something to note here, extra features added to the software to hide design flaws are easy to spot. This is a common approach to hide the lag in design. We have seen overtime developers introducing features that customers haven’t asked for. Be wary of this technique, and if you see an extra feature always look deeper into your design.

  132.
Modularity
133. Modularity adds to the maintainability of the software. What does modularity mean? It’s a technical term. Think of it this way. Software as mentioned before consists of a few modules that are working together to make it functional.

  134.
Softwares have multiple features. Each module works to provide the functionality intended for the software. The implementation of good design practices makes modular software function properly. Each module is easier to work with, add to or remove as you want.

  135.
Performance
136. The performance of your software depends highly on the quality of the design. A good design can help eliminate many functionality errors that would arise otherwise. It also ensures that when an error does occur, it can be found immediately. A good design ensures that the system has been designed thoroughly to a granular level. So when a bug is detected, the design will automatically be able to pinpoint the error so you can have the bottleneck cleared.

  137.
While it is necessary to go deep into minor and macro details combined, for a good design you have to ensure that it isn’t overdone. It is not necessary to have every detail designed to an optimal level. The more unnecessary specifics you have the team focus on the longer the development process will take, consequently, it will result in more iterations to get each detail to work properly.

  138.
Usability
139. With good design comes enough documentation to supplement it. This design document essentially helps you see what requirements are being implemented. Moreover, it gives you an idea about how the software that you have had developed works. This is a great starting point for you. Even after the team explains everything to you, you can always go back to the document, revisit it, and understand the design.

  140.
A software with a good design also helps you to track the requirements you specified. On a design level, it proves that what you asked for has been designed and developed, that too correctly.

  141.
Cost-Efficient
142. Focusing on design at an early stage of the SDLC process is very cost-efficient. When the design has been figured out in the initial stage of development, the team follows those design guidelines throughout. This eliminates the risk of miscommunication within the team, consequently, eliminates the waste of important resources like time, cost, etc. incurred because of a redo.

  143.
The Role of Software Design in Creating an End-to-End User Experience
144. You, as a customer, need to understand the difference between UI(User Interface) and UX( User Experience) very clearly. UI and UX are the focus of every team for development of a good design. UX means more than just the product interface; it encompasses the whole experience a person will have with a brand and their overall satisfaction with a product. A good company will not only focus on the completion of tasks but they also focus on how the customer feels throughout the journey. A good UX is an essential part of good design. It ensures that the user comes back to the company’s product, not because they have to but because they want to.

  145.
End to End-user experience begins once your software has been deployed in the market and the customer finds out about it. From then on the decision to buy your product, what package to buy, usage, support/maintenance, upgrades, etc. everything is covered in end-to-end user experience. You have a huge chance to gain competitive advantages if you and the team manage to strike the right balance between User Interface and User Experience.

  146.
Who to Look For
147. Don’t waste your time looking for a specific backend, front-end, or a full-stack engineering team. Whichever team you hire, what the team develops, no matter how good the design is, or how well-written the code is, it affects you. What you need to look for is a team that understands that UX is as important for a front end developer as it is for a back end developer.

  148.
Conclusion
149. You would never build a house without good plans and designs. Software is no different. The design gives you as much advantage in your niche as it does to the custom software development company. It is up to you to gain that advantage. Look for a company that values design and knows the balance between designing and the introduction of features in the software.

  150.
You and the team have to cooperate and go through each iteration with patience to have a good design for your software. It requires both yours and the team’s commitment and efforts. What’s most important is that you will need a well-defined process to get a good design. In this effort, new possible business opportunities will arise so will unlikely competitors. Up till the completion of your project the team you choose should be consistent in following agile, design-led development iterations. The originality of your idea and the choice of the right team will lead you to success.

  151.
“Design is not just what it looks like and feels like. Design is how it works.” -Steve Jobs

  152.
But it’s not like developers don’t know what design is. They’ve just been giving other factors like features more importance. But as the industry changes, companies are focusing more on design than on features. Before we discuss the importance of design let’s first look at the two types of designs.

  194.

Interior design and Interior Architecture are two broad terms of the same arena. These two differ at some points that is what this article describes.

  195.
Interiors feature reflects not simply unwinding or setting up for a mood however it has consistently been a monstrous purpose behind a space that needs creation and designing. Honorable interior design ideas appear to top in every one of those parts of classiness,Guest Posting tastefulness, accommodation, efficiency, thriftiness, sturdiness, and asylum. Any home interior concocts the best outcome when the masterfulness of the Interior designers collaborates with that of the innovation. Notwithstanding, whenever seen through a distinctive idea of existential industry, the new need has abandoned current interior design to interior engineering that should be gratifying consistently. Here in this article, we will talk about the critical contrasts in the two terms.

  196.
INTERIOR DESIGN SERVICES

  197.
Space design planning
198. Particular interior designs for kitchen, room, washroom, stockpiling, and so on Floor plan designs
199. Custom furniture design and work on the shading plan
201.
Engineering science-3D design development on programming
202. Industrial design administrations
203. Examination of design and development
204. There are some significant contrasts between Interior design and Interior engineering like;-

  205.
SITE PLANS – Both interior design themes and interior engineering fluctuate through their interaction of site planning, for imaginative and energetic brainstorming meetings. With regards to interior engineering, we intend to expand the style of the site through conceptualizing and planning the building’s interiors by fusing the compositional highlights with the plan of the framed space. 206.
Choices – Some determinations differ through both house Interior Design and Interior Architecture. Wherein, the interior draftsman picks a territory for work, the most recent interior designs on the opposite side quest for delicate merchandise determinations, and Furniture choices for the space to reproduce. Interior design is identified with space oversight, and recreating the interiors.

  207.
WORKING PROCESS-The interior planners need to work both at site and office premises. They partition their time term according to the customer’s prerequisites. They need to talk about the undertaking subtleties with the customers on different office Interior designs work according to the space built by engineering.

  208.
Interior Architecture combines compositional and specialized parts of an interior space keeping the consistency in and imagination for the spot in mind. On the contrary hand, home Interior Design involves interior space designing to make it look appealing to the watchers.

  209.
The result would in any case oblige an important existence of styling and ornamentation co-tasks; this is the way interior engineers perform. 210.
The building is built by interior design and different spots they decide to develop are private, places of business, bistros, cafés, schools, government buildings, and so forth The different territories that can be designed internally separated from outsides are the kitchen, room, living room, washroom, and even galleries and porch can be designed according to as you would prefer of decision.

  211.
Sporting

  212.
Interior designers can gut and revamp to alter an alternate reason. The development may retain its present outside design; the most latest house interior design is a thing of fascination. That is the thing that the hypothesis of flexibility is, re-utilization of a building’s casing. Interior engineering can create homegrown and industrial design administrations while some in explicit interior design breaks can do plans that include simple investment projects like office interior design, and cafés. The sporting viewpoint of interior designers in Gurgaon takes a stop here for the uniqueness to takeover.

  213.
One can say that interior design is craftsmanship and interior engineering is both the workmanship and study of designing the space with a bit of significance.

  232.

The importance of a master plan for your interior design projects is of vital importance. The reason for this is that your money and your time are two of the things that are inseparable. It is critical that your time, your money, and your resources are allocated properly.

  233.
It doesn’t matter how much money you have or how little money you have. If someone says, “I’ve got a thousand dollars to spend,” that is a lot of money for them. If another person says, “I’ve got ten thousand dollars to spend,” that will be a lot of money for that individual to spend. Even if somebody has one hundred thousand dollars to spend, that will be a lot of money to them. And lastly, even if it’s one million dollars, for a multi-millionaire, it’s still a significant amount of money to spend.

  234.
So, do you want to just spend the money, or do you really want to invest the money? The answer is rather obvious. You want to invest the money because you want a return on your investment, in more ways than one. You want a return on your investment emotionally, intellectually, and visually for maximum impact and enrichment.

  235.
Having a master plan helps orchestrate all the components that go into producing great interior design. If you’re working in a single room, you have to orchestrate all the different furniture pieces. If you’re working on a whole house, you need to transition in different areas and have some relatedness. A master plan helps you successfully accomplish that.

  236.
A master plan is also about the importance of words. Here I’m talking about the intangible things first, because the intangibles almost always precede the tangibles. Somebody has an idea, and then eventually it becomes a reality. But the correct words will frame the concept, and the concept will frame the reality.

  237.
Another very important thing is to have your master plan on paper. Because without having it documented, you can’t look at it, you can’t ponder it, and you can’t meditate on it. This is the aspect that can get you excited. It’s your vision!

  238.
Always remember, whether it’s a house you have right now or whether it’s a house you plan to build, you’re always working within the context of its’ architecture. Both the interior design and the architecture should act together as a “hand-and-glove” scenario. This analogy relates to the fit, feel, and appropriateness of the interior design with regard to the architecture. In this relationship, the architecture exists to contain or house the interior. The interior is the hand and the architecture is the glove. And it’s the hand that animates the glove, making it come alive.

  239.
Steven C. Adamko, is the owner and founder of Spectrum Interiors, established in 1982.

  240.
All of Steve’s designs are personally tailored to the client with the result being orchestrated with the desired Ambiance that is seen, felt, understood, and experienced. He works in a broad range and spectrum of residential and commercial design, as well as furniture and lighting design. His services to others include teleseminars, webinars, and seminars.

  392.

A beautiful yard is like a fabulously decorated home with Curtain Rods and Window Coverings: well thought out, purposefully designed and carefully put together.
393. If the impression your yard gives is as important of Curtain rods to you as the interior of your home for window coverings, you’ll want to invest time and thought into this outdoor extension of your living space. You’ll enjoy the rewards of your efforts for many years – and receive many compliments along the way!

  394.
Okay, to start: you’re the landscape architect – pull up a chair and let’s get to work! Let’s start by deciding:

  395.
What you want to use the space for.

  396.
This can be single or multi-purpose. Talk to everyone in the house and curtain rods and Window Coverings brainstorm together. You may want to keep the entire space in thick, green grass just for putting practice (single-purpose). Or you may want to have a space for the kids and another for adults (multi-purpose). Do you cook outdoors? Want a flower bed? How about an area for your pets?

  397.
The other thing that goes hand-in-hand with this is considering what you’re working with.

  398.
Is your land flat, hilly, rocky or full of trees?

  399.
How much sun/shade does each area get at different times of the day – and will it make a difference for that area’s purpose?

  400.
Do you have a noisy neighbor? You probably wouldn’t want to put a meditation corner near them.

  401.
Safety should be the first consideration for children’s play areas. Place them away from streets and alleys, don’t position the slide to end in the pond (unless that’s what you want) and keep Fido’s pooh-pooh area far away from their little feet! Using curtains and curtain rods we stop the direct sunlight in home. By using window coverings and curtain Rods we get cool sun light. Its an energy saving Idea.

  402.
Now get out a pencil and paper – or landscaping software – and map out the spaces, keeping in mind the “lay of the land” and other pertinent factors. For now just make general circles or squares to mark the space for each purpose.

  403.
What style you want to use.

  404.
Is it formal, informal, country, eclectic? And don’t forget to consider what’s already there, like the architecture of the house or the style of existing fencing. Consider the style of existing structures of curtain rods & window coverings that will stay and how those styles will fit in your plan.

  405.
What color palate you’ll use.
406. Of course you must consider other existing colors: siding and trim on existing buildings and fences, landscaping colors, maybe even the color of a neighbor’s garage if it’s butted up to your yard.

  407.
My house is blue with white trim, and that’s what I chose to use for the outdoor décor and interior Décor by curtain rods and window coverings: my chair cushions are a great blue floral, the stone deck is colored blue-gray and I just planted one of those gorgeous blue hyacinths next to the neighbor’s white fence. Now, I could have gone with a green palate because there’s so much green in the yard already (grass, trees), but that’s just me.

  408.
Now comes the fun – uh, I mean the hard part: shopping for everything you need. And color coordinating and curtain rods & window coverings it. And making sure the styles coordinate. And having friends over to analyze the work (over food and drinks of course). And somehow, somehow managing to hold up under the enormous amount of praise and compliments you’ll receive for your labors.
