The SSG Landers of the Korean Baseball Organization (KBO) have earned a win over the Hanwha Eagles.
SSG came from behind to win 4-3 against Hanwha in the 2024 Shinhan SOL Bank KBO League at Hanwha Life Eagles Park in Daejeon on Tuesday.
With the score tied 3-3 in the top of the sixth inning, Choo Shin-soo, who pinch-hit for Hanwha with the bases loaded, scored on a straight bunt. From the fifth inning onward, the bullpen of Ko Hyo-joon, Lee I-roon, Noh Kyung-eun, Cho Byung-hyun, and Moon Seung-won combined for five scoreless innings to preserve the lead.
No. 4 SSG, which won the best-of-three series with two straight wins after losing the first day of the series, is 19-14-1. No. 8 Hanwha, which failed to win the best-of-seven series, is 13-20.
SSG took the lead in the second inning. After Guillermo Heredia led off the inning with a single up the middle against Hanwha starter Hwang Jun-seo, Go Myung-joon hit a big double off the center field fence to put runners on second and third with no outs. Ha Jae-hoon retired the next batter on a fielder’s choice, but Lee Ji-young made a good play on Hwang Jun-seo’s high forked <a href="https://www.tipga.com/about/totosafeguidecom1" title="ball">ball</a> outside. It sailed past Hanwha first baseman Ahn Chi-hong for a two-run single into right field.
Hanwha answered right back in the bottom of the inning. Noh Si-hwan singled up the middle after a seven-pitch battle with SSG starter Oh Won-seok and stole second base. Kim Tae-yeon singled to put runners on second and third, and Park Sang-un singled to center field to score the first run of the inning, but Hwang Young-mook was caught stealing second base and was thrown out at home by the SSG defense.
The inning came to an unfortunate end, but in the bottom of the third inning, Han Hwa turned the tide with a home run. After Lee Do-yoon singled to center field, Choi In-ho stole second after the lead runner was out on a grounder to second base. A fly ball to right field by Lee loaded the bases for Jonathan Peraza, who hit a two-run homer to left-center field. With a two-strike count, he lifted a four-pitch fastball from Oh Won-seok low and away over the left-center field fence. It traveled 125 meters and was his 10th home run of the season. It was the one that changed the score to 3-2.
However, SSG tied the game again in the top of the fifth inning. Ahn Sang-hyun singled to right, stole second, and Choi Ji-hoon singled to left to put runners on first and third with no outs, and Park Sung-sung’s grounder to second scored a <a href="https://www.totosafeguide.com" title="안전놀이터">안전놀이터</a> run to tie the game at 3-3. Choi Ji-hoon’s walk loaded the bases with two outs, but SSG answered with Choi Jung-jeong’s double to left-center and Han Yoo-seom’s groundout to bring in Hanwha starter Hwang Jun-seo.
Heredia was thrown out at the plate by reliever Jang Min-jae on a fly ball to right field, but the lead was finally restored in the top of the sixth. Go Myung-joon singled to shortstop and Ha Jae-hoon singled to right to put runners on first and second with no outs, and Lee Ji-young laid down a sacrifice bunt. Hanwha third baseman Noh Si-hwan made a quick dash to third base, but was one step too late. With the bases loaded on a fielder’s choice, SSG brought in Choo Shin-soo to pinch-hit for Ahn Sang-hyun.
Hanwha made another pitching change. They brought up left-hander Lee Chung-ho, who hadn’t made a first-team appearance this season. With his first-pitch slider low and away, Lee threw 2-4 pitches for strikes, but none of them cleared the zone. Straight fly ball. Choo Shin-soo drove in the winning run with a pushing grounder to center field without a single at-bat.
In the next at-bat, SSG got Choi Ji-hoon to strike out on <a href="https://www.bsc.news/post/safe-totosite-ranking-top-15-major-safe-playground-2024" title="스포츠토토 사이트 추천">스포츠토토 사이트 추천</a> three pitches and Park Sung-hwan to ground out to first base. However, SSG had an ironclad bullpen. After starter Oh Won-seok gave up three runs on four hits (one home run) with three walks and three strikeouts in four innings, the bullpen of Go Hyo-joon (1 inning), Lee Iroon (1 inning), Noh Kyung-eun (1 inning), Cho Byung-hyun (1 inning), and Moon Seung-won (1 inning) combined for five scoreless innings to preserve the lead. Ko Hyo-joon picked up his second win of the season, while Lee I-roon earned his third, Noh Kyung-eun his 10th, Cho Byung-hyun his seventh, and Moon Seung-won his ninth. At the plate, Choi Ji-hoon, Choi Jung, Heredia, and Ko Myung-joon each had two multi-hit games.
For Hanwha, starter Hwang Jun-seo was tagged with the loss after allowing three runs on eight hits with one walk and two strikeouts in 4⅔ innings. Lee Chung-ho gave up the game-winning pushoff double in the sixth inning, but Jang Min-jae took his first loss of the <a href="https://sportstotosite.pro" title="season">season</a> in relief. Lee Min-woo (1 1/3 innings), Lee Tae-yang (1 inning), and Joo Hyun-sang (1 inning) pitched scoreless innings, but the offense failed to capitalize on the SSG bullpen and fell to its knees with a one-run deficit.
In the bottom of the ninth, Jung Eun-won led off with a double to right-center, but the next two batters failed to reach base. Hwang Young-mook struck out swinging after a failed bunt, and pinch-hitter Chae Eun-sung followed with a foul fly to first base. That’s because he didn’t give up a single earned run. It was one of those once-in-a-year games where he didn”t get much defensive help. It happened on May 2 at Champions Field in Gwangju.
The Kia Tigers sent their de facto No. 1 pitcher, Nail, to the mound and still couldn’t get the win. They committed five errors, the most in a game this <a href="https://sportstotosite.one" title="season">season</a>.
KIA lost 5-12 in their 2024 Shinhan SOL Bank KBO League home game against the KT Wiz at Kia Champions Field in Gwangju on Feb. 2. Kia’s defense, which led the team in errors (35) the day before, was caught off guard.
The game started well. A sacrifice fly by Choi Hyung-woo in the first inning and back-to-back home runs by Lee Woo-sung and Han Jun-soo in the second chipped away at KT’s lead. But the nightmare began in the third inning.
The nightmare began in the top of the third inning when starting <a href="https://www.tipga.com/about/totopickpro1" title="pitcher">pitcher</a> James Nail’s throw to second base on a grounder to first by Chun Sung-ho started the inning. Sporting Witness, citing Italy’s Calcio Mercato, reported on Sunday (Feb. 2) that Tottenham are the frontrunners in the race to sign Albert Gudmundsson, 27, of Genoa, and his father has admitted it.
Gudmundsson is an Icelandic international. He grew up in the PSV Eindhoven youth ranks and has been playing for Genoa since January 2022 after stints at Eindhoven and Alkmaar. Gudmundsson’s main position is as a second striker, but he can play in a variety of attacking positions, including winger, central midfielder, and up front.
After scoring 11 goals and five assists in 36 games in Serie B last season, Gudmundsson has shown improvement this season with 14 goals and three assists in 32 <a href="https://www.tipga.com/about/oncasinositenet1" title="games">games</a> in the newly promoted Serie A. Gudmundsson is under contract until the summer of 2027.

From the first to the third inning, he was flawless. He threw 35 pitches and didn’t allow a single run.
In the fourth inning, they were less fortunate, but minimized the damage.
After giving up a leadoff single to Jung Soo-bin, Won Tae-in induced Heo Kyung-min to ground out to the first baseman. Jung raced past second base to third base, and Won, who was in the first base cover, quickly threw to third, but the ball slipped behind the third baseman for the first run.

In the fifth inning, Won got out of trouble. He gave up a walk to Kim Jae-hwan and a single to Henry Ramos. He then gave up a walk to Cho Sung-hyun to load the bases, but got Jung Soo-bin to ground out to first base. Won roared in celebration after getting out of the inning without allowing a run.
