Dielectric response of tissues was parametrized by a pair of the Debye relaxators and a pair of the overdamped-oscillators - namely, the double-Debye (DD) and double-overdamped-oscillator (DO) models. Both models accurately reproduce the experimental curves for the intact tissues and the WHO Grades I-IV gliomas. While the DD model is more common for THz biophotonics, the DO model is more physically rigorous, since it satisfies the sum rule. In this way, the DO model and the sum rule were, then, applied to estimate the content of water in intact tissues and gliomas ex vivo. The observed results agreed well with the earlier-reported data, justifying water as a main endogenous label of brain tumors in the THz range. Presented is a pleomorphic leiomyosarcoma in a 64-year-old man, initially considered to be a ruptured epidermal inclusion cyst. The patient had a mildly tender, enlarging soft-tissue mass with a central pore on his right upper back. Incomplete extirpation showed a 5 × 5 cm heterogeneous, predominantly pleomorphic sarcoma with areas of fascicular and storiform spindled cells infiltrating the subcutaneous soft tissue to the underlying fascia and extending upward into the middle and upper dermis with prominent extension into pilosebaceous units. A literature search was conducted using Medline via Ovid, PubMed, EBSCOhost, Web of Science and Scopus. All full articles in the English language were included. Ninety-six clinical studies were identified and analysed. The CADI has been used in 44 different countries, including four multinational studies, and has validated translations in 25 languages. Twenty-nine therapeutic interventions have used CADI, demonstrating its responsiveness to change. Fourteen studies have assessed reliability through test-retest and internal consistency studies. Fifty-seven studies have demonstrated aspects of its validity through correlation to other measures and five studies have investigated the dimensionality of CADI. The synthesized metal nanomaterials were characterized by ultraviolet-visible spectrophotometer (UV-vis spectrophotometer) and transmission electron microscope (HR-TEM). The nanomaterials coating on the surface of the sensing probe were characterized by a scanning electron microscope (SEM). Thereafter, to increase the specificity of the sensor, the probes are functionalized with tyrosinase enzyme.
