<p>The U.S. and China are competing for dominance in key regions of Earth orbit, particularly Lagrange points, which are crucial locations for deep space observation and potential gateways to Mars and beyond. The U.S. Congress has been urged to fund programs that counter China’s ambitions in space, including ensuring that the U.S. is the first country to permanently station assets at all Lagrange Points.</p>
<p>To maintain its leadership in space, experts suggest that the U.S. should engage China in a constructive dialogue on the responsible and peaceful use of space, while also investing in protecting and defending U.S. interests in space.</p>

<p>According to a Rosoboronexport spokesperson, the company, in collaboration with United Aircraft Corporation, is ready to begin local production of the Su-57E at Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) facilities as early as this year.</p>
<p>The proposal includes technology transfers related to critical components such as engines, Active Electronically Scanned Array (AESA) radars, optics, artificial intelligence, software, and advanced weapons. The aim is to support the indigenous development of India’s AMCA, and to enhance India’s self-reliance in defense technology. According to the Rosoboronexport spokesperson, manufacturing these technologies in India would also eliminate the risk of future supply chain disruptions.</p>
<p>This offer seeks to revive the Fifth-Generation Fighter Aircraft (FGFA) program between India and Russia. India had withdrawn from the joint program in 2018 due to disagreements over technology transfer terms. The Su-57E offer comes as the Indian Air Force (IAF) faces challenges with its fighter fleet, currently operating with 31 squadrons compared to the sanctioned 42. India is also considering the American F-35 fighter jet.</p>
<p>The Su-57E has a maximum speed of Mach 1.8 and can carry up to 7.4 tons of weapons, including air-to-air and air-to-ground missiles. It has a maximum operating altitude of 54,100 feet and a combat range of approximately 1,864 miles.</p>
<p>Rosoboronexport has proposed comprehensive cooperation on the Su-57E project, including the supply of ready-made aircraft, the organization of joint production in India, and assistance in developing an Indian fifth-generation fighter.</p>

<p>The satellites, part of the Firefly constellation, are touted as the world’s highest-resolution commercial-grade hyperspectral satellites, achieving a remarkable 5-metre resolution. This level of detail is six times sharper than the standard 30-metre resolution of most existing hyperspectral satellites, allowing for unprecedented monitoring of environmental and agricultural changes. Pixxel’s founder and CEO, Awais Ahmed, described this launch as a “defining moment” for the company and a pivotal step towards leveraging space technology to tackle global challenges.</p>
<p>Pixxel plans to expand its constellation further, with three additional Firefly satellites scheduled for launch in the second quarter of 2025. Ultimately, the company aims to deploy a total of 24 satellites to enhance its data collection capabilities. The hyperspectral imaging technology employed by Pixxel can capture detailed data across more than 150 spectral bands, making it invaluable for various sectors including agriculture, mining, and environmental monitoring.</p>
<p>In addition to Pixxel’s launch, another Bengaluru-based startup, Digantara, also successfully deployed its SCOT (Space Camera for Object Tracking) satellite during the same mission. This satellite is designed to monitor space debris and track objects in low Earth orbit, addressing growing concerns about space congestion.</p>
<p>The successful launch of these satellites underscores India’s increasing presence in the global space market, which is projected to grow significantly in the coming years. With major clients already on board, including Rio Tinto and British Petroleum, Pixxel is poised to play a crucial role in advancing satellite technology and data utilisation across multiple industries.</p>

<p>In terms of earnings performance, EBITDA rose by 17% to ₹83,440 crore in the last twelve months. The average cost of borrowing has decreased to 8.2%, attributed to improved ratings across its companies. Overall, the Adani Group’s financial metrics demonstrate a strong foundation for future growth amid ongoing challenges.</p>
