41.

Kathy Larkan, Global Head of Mining & Resources

 42.
Australia’s premier oil and gas and energy event has led by example. After its established history as the Australian Oil and Gas Conference (AOG), this year, the event returns as Energy Exchange Australia (EXA).

 43.
EXA has made its ambitions clear via the 2025 theme: ‘Transitioning Together’ and ‘Embracing our Energy Future’ Ideals that ATPI Australia holds closely.

 44.
Working alongside our customers across the local energy market, including traditional oil and gas and the significant mining sector, we utilise our expertise, technologies, and solutions to help champion a more sustainable path forward.

 45.
As the trusted travel partner to the region, we are always keeping ahead of the curve in sustainable strategy development and corporate travel and customer wellbeing. With mining making up a considerable proportion of the country’s energy supply, we are proud to collaborate with the sector’s leading minds for all logistic requirements – including how they approach ESG and implementing the latest technologies.

 46.
ESG

 47.
The principles surrounding ESG have helped to mould Australia’s mining industry, all the way from exploration to production. To support net zero ambitions, stakeholders within the industry are applying pressure to ensure that operators are considering sustainability-related actions. Additionally, future investment is likely to be greatly influenced by a company’s approach to sustainability and ESG, just as much as its finances.

 48.
Companies that are hesitant to embrace sustainability and ESG initiatives are at risk of future investment, performance incentives, and, above all else, their reputation. It’s therefore vital to consider risks in their internal ESG strategy that could affect the ability to raise investment, obtain work permits for new projects, protect their reputation, and influence how they collaborate with local communities and regulators.

 49.
Technology and Travel

 50.
Likewise, adopting technological investments in all aspects of a company’s operations will impact how it embraces the future of energy. Like many safety-critical industries, those in the oil and gas and mining sectors navigate significant obstacles and logistics – many of which are out of their control. Here, market-leading and cutting-edge technologies have a vital role to play in helping companies combat the barriers most common in corporate travel.

 51.
Utilising the latest technology helps to maintain the highest levels of efficiency, control, and workforce satisfaction. It is these technologies that can automate the often costly and time-consuming processes that are synonymous with Fly-In-Fly-Out (FIFO) travel arrangements and roster management. For example, online booking tools provide an instant improvement to efficiency by streamlining the approval process, eliminating manual errors, and saving valuable resource time.

 52.
ATPI

 53.
Technology and our belief in sustainability are core to our expertise. All the way through from exploration to planning, construction, and then refining, we provide complete assurance for all travel and workforce management needs. Our wealth of mining and oil and gas experience has helped us pioneer energy travel logistics around the region, working together to create a sustainable future.

 54.
Our key expertise includes:

 55.

 56.
Industry specialists equipped with a track record in delivering seamless travel solutions that can streamline operations.

 57.
Offering comprehensive duty of care support to safeguard your personnel throughout their journeys, 24/7, always taking the wellbeing and safety of the workforce seriously.

 58.
Our industry-focused travel tech helps us to embrace innovation to empower your workforce with cutting-edge tools for smoother travel experiences.

 59.
We master FIFO schedules to modernize travel arrangements in line with shifts to maximise productivity.

 60.
Regardless of location, our gateway solutions enable smooth travel to overcome logistical obstacles and ensure continuity.

 61.
Our proud network of suppliers and contacts helps us access leading fares to minimise costs while maintaining top-tier travel services for all energy operations.

 62.

 63.
Our job is to help alleviate pressure by assisting organisations with all their travel and ESG needs. Via our technologies, including the ATPI Traveller Tracking System, ATPI Analytics, and ATPI Halo, we integrate travel management and sustainability tools seamlessly into existing processes. Each solution can be tailored to meet the complex challenges faced by those operating across the mining and oil and gas spectrum.

 64.
As EXA kicks off this week, we look forward to connecting with delegates to provide a greater understanding of how we can all transition together.

 109.
Conference offers one-to-one sessions with procurement teams from tier 1 developers

 110.
Key players in clean power are heading to Aberdeen next week (Thursday, March 13) to explore how Scotland’s renewable energy supply chain can play a pivotal role in securing its place at the forefront of the global move to green energy.

 111.
The Renewable Energy Supply Chain Conference, organised by trade body Scottish Renewables, will demonstrate how the supply chain is an essential component to designing, building and operating major projects from solar and tidal installations to onshore and offshore wind farms.

 112.
In a headline session, Nathalie Haller, Director of Banking and Investments at the National Wealth Fund, will have a fireside chat with Claire Mack, Chief Executive of Scottish Renewables, to discuss how clean energy deployment and supply chain expansion will create jobs, boost energy independence and ensure UK consumers and communities reap the benefits of home-grown energy.

 113.
Either side of this conversation will feature sessions with a stellar list of experts in clean power including Alwyn Poulter of Hitachi Energy, Kate Rudman of Tarmac, Sinclair Browne from the Port of Inverness and Nicola Watson of Ocean Winds.

 114.
Other highlights from the conference include meet-the-buyer appointments which will provide suppliers with the opportunity to attend one-to-one sessions with the procurement teams from developers.

 115.
Scottish Renewables continually works to champion and support the diverse range of organisations that make up the growing renewable energy supply chain in Scotland, particularly Scottish SMEs.

 116.
Appointed by the Scottish Offshore Wind Energy Council (SOWEC) to establish a national offshore wind supply chain cluster for Scotland, Scottish Renewables launched The Clean Energy Cluster in January. With more than 400 members already registered including organisations based in or working across all corners of Scotland, the cluster will foster innovation, drive skills development and boost the global competitiveness of Scotland’s renewable energy supply chain.

 117.
From developers, tier 1 suppliers and ports to hauliers, vessel brokers and operations and maintenance providers, this conference will see industry come together to gain insights and intelligence on the future of renewable energy in Scotland.

 118.
Emma Harrick, Director of Energy Transition and Supply Chain at Scottish Renewables, said:

 119.
“Scotland, long hailed as the ‘Energy Capital of Europe,’ stands on the brink of an exciting new era. With a legacy rooted in oil and gas, our nation is now leading the charge in renewable energy unlocking a monumental economic opportunity that will power not just Scotland but the entire UK for generations to come.

 120.
“Achieving the ambitious renewable energy targets set by both the UK and Scottish governments will require not only dedicated developers, but also a vibrant network of skilled, innovative suppliers. From offshore inspection to civil engineering, electrical products and data services, there is a vast array of opportunities on the horizon.

 121.
“Over the past decade, Scotland has seen hundreds of supply chain businesses bring their expertise to the renewable energy industry, investing in growth, skills and talent to ensure we meet the demands of tomorrow.

 122.
“As we look ahead, we are excited to welcome the entrepreneurial trailblazers of this industry to our Renewable Energy Supply Chain Conference in Aberdeen where we’ll explore how supply chain businesses can harness Scotland’s greatest economic opportunity.”

 139.

Sapura Energy Berhad subsidiary Sapura Drilling said it has secured multiple contracts with a combined value of approximately $716.7 million (MYR 3.2 billion), including an optional period.

 140.
Sapura Drilling won two contracts from PTTEP Energy Development Limited for the provision of its tender assist drilling rigs, Sapura T-17 and Sapura T-18.

 141.
Both projects will begin in the second quarter of 2026, with a five-year firm period and an optional extension of three years, the Malaysian company said in a news release.

 142.
The company has also secured a contract extension from Chevron subsidiary Cabinda Gulf Oil Company Limited (CABGOC) for the tender assist drilling rig Sapura Jaya. The extension, which started in November 2024, will continue until November 2025.

 143.
Further, Sapura Drilling won a contract from ExxonMobil Exploration and Production Malaysia Inc. (EMEPMI) for services of the Sapura Berani drilling rig. The project, starting in the first quarter of 2026, involves development drilling for a period of 30 months.

 144.
Another contract was secured by the company from EnQuest Petroleum Production Malaysia Ltd for services by the Sapura Esperanza rig for drilling activities. The contract begins in the first quarter of 2026 and covers the drilling of four development wells offshore Malaysia.

 145.
Sapura Drilling has a fleet of five semi-tender rigs and six tender barge rigs, making it the largest drilling contractor in Southeast Asia by rig count and market share, it said.

 146.
The signed contracts have strengthened the group’s order book to a total value of $1.95 billion (MYR 8.7 billion) while the order book held by its joint ventures stood at $1.28 million (MYR 5.7 billion), the company said.

 147.
In addition to the drilling contracts, Sapura Energy’s Engineering and Construction segment has secured several key projects, including a pipeline installation in Brazil and an asset removal project in Australia.

 148.
Sapura Energy’s CEO for its drilling business, Louay Louis Laham, said, “Our strength lies in our people, our capabilities, and our partnerships. We not only focus on safety and operational excellence but also on our commitment to collaboration with our clients. That’s how we maintained a consistent track record with top tier clients for more than 50 years of existence”.

 149.
“These contract wins reflect our ability to deliver value-driven solutions and strengthen client confidence in Sapura Energy. As we grow our order book, we remain committed to operational excellence and long-term value creation”, said Muhammad Zamri Jusoh, Group CEO of Sapura Energy.

 150.
In December 2024, Sapura subsidiary Sapura Upstream Assets Sdn Bhd (SUA) completed the sale of its 50 percent equity interest in SapuraOMV Upstream Sdn Bhd to TotalEnergy Holdings SAS.

 151.
SapuraOMV’s assets include a 40 percent operated interest in block SK408 and a 30 percent operated interest in block SK310, both situated offshore Sarawak, Malaysia. The Jerun gas field, located within the SK408 block, achieved its first gas in July 2024, ahead of schedule and within budget. SapuraOMV also holds exploration licenses across strategic regions, including Malaysia, Australia, New Zealand, and Mexico, according to an earlier news release.

 152.
“This strategic initiative underscores our commitment to Sapura Energy’s long-term Reset and debt restructuring plan; this divestment streamlines our portfolio and enables us to focus on our core capabilities, namely to deliver safe and innovative solutions to the energy industry,” Sapura Energy Interim Chairman Shahin Farouque Jammal Ahmad said.

 168.

 169.

Oslo-listed oil and gas E&P player BW Energy has made what it says is a substantial oil discovery at a field in the Dussafu license off the coast of Gabon, Africa, using a Borr Drilling jack-up rig.

 170.
The new oil discovery on the Bourdon prospect in the Dussafu license offshore Gabon was described by BW as substantial with good reservoir quality. The prospect forms part of the Hibiscus/Ruche development project and is located approximately 15 kilometers west of the floating production, storage, and offloading (FPSO) unit BW Adolo near the Tortue field.

 171.
It is also situated 7.5 kilometers southeast of the MaBoMo offshore production facility, which is a repurposed jack-up drilling rig BW obtained under a sale and lease back agreement last April.

 172.
The Oslo-listed player is the block’s operator and holds a 73.5% interest, with Panoro Energy and Gabon Oil Company as partners, holding 17.5% and 9% interests, respectively.

 173.
According to BW, the well was drilled to a total depth of 4,135 meters. The evaluation of logging data and formation pressure measurements confirm around 34 meters of pay in an overall hydrocarbon column of 45 meters in the Gamba formation, which Panoro claims is the largest hydrocarbon column discovered to date in the Dussafu license.

 174.
“The Bourdon appraisal well again confirms the significant resource potential of the Dussafu licence, which holds multiple additional prospects,” said Carl K. Arnet, CEO of BW Energy. “We will now carefully review the drilling results, but initial data indicates the potential for establishing a new development cluster with a production facility following the MaBoMo blueprint. We are evaluating a second sidetrack to further appraise the discovery”.

 175.
As stated by Panoro’s CEO, John Hamilton, the final operation in the Dussafu drilling campaign resulted in four significant oil discoveries and eight new production wells across Hibiscus/Ruche. Paired with the six pre-existing wells at the Tortue field, this has increased total gross production on the block to around 40,000 barrels of oil per day (bopd).

 176.
“We are very pleased with the outcome of our latest drilling success on Dussafu at the Bourdon prospect. Once the final data from the well and an appraisal side-track, which may be drilled, is available we will work to delineate the extent of this exciting new discovery and provide an update on estimated resources,” noted Hamilton.

 177.
“What is apparent even at this early stage is that we have potentially established the foundation for a new development cluster on the block, which holds multiple additional prospects and leads.”

 178.
This was the last assignment for Borr Drilling’s Norve jack-up rig forming part of the production drilling campaign at Dussafu. According to BW, the new discovery will enable it to book additional reserves not included in its 2024 statement of reserves.

 179.
In January, the rig was used to drill the DHIBM-7H well at Dussafu and carry out a workover/ESP replacement program on several existing wells.

 180.
It is also situated 7.5 kilometers southeast of the MaBoMo offshore production facility, which is a repurposed jack-up drilling rig BW obtained under a sale and lease back agreement last April.

 181.
The Oslo-listed player is the block’s operator and holds a 73.5% interest, with Panoro Energy and Gabon Oil Company as partners, holding 17.5% and 9% interests, respectively.

 182.

 183.

 184.

 185.

 186.
“What is apparent even at this early stage is that we have potentially established the foundation for a new development cluster on the block, which holds multiple additional prospects and leads.”

 187.
This was the last assignment for Borr Drilling’s Norve jack-up rig forming part of the production drilling campaign at Dussafu. According to BW, the new discovery will enable it to book additional reserves not included in its 2024 statement of reserves.

 188.
In January, the rig was used to drill the DHIBM-7H well at Dussafu and carry out a workover/ESP replacement program on several existing wells.

 189.
Borr Drilling also recently landed a multi-well contract for Norve with an unnamed operator in West Africa, set to start in Q3 2025. Vaalco Energy also hired the rig to carry out its 2025/2026 drilling program off the coast of Gabon.

 250.

FourPhase, solids and production performance specialist for the oil and gas sector, has launched The Observer an advanced real-time data capture and optimisation tool. Already deployed in five operations across the Gulf of Mexico and the Norwegian Continental Shelf, The Observer is set to be rolled out across all FourPhase operations, enabling full remote monitoring. The real-time data it offers is invaluable as more operators are focusing on smart operations driven by data insights.

 251.
The Observer addresses three key industry challenges: reducing downtime through informed decision-making, optimising equipment maintenance, and facilitating the transition to remote operations. The Observer captures real-time data to generate a live operational display in FourPhase’s operations centre. Simultaneously, this data populates online dashboards, accessible to customers worldwide.

 252.
Most importantly, The Observer is built on a robust security framework. Following a zero-trust security model, The Observer complies with ISO 27001, 27017, and 27701 standards. It ensures a secure connection to onshore operations via Starlink or similar technologies. This offers operators a secure channel to send information to the respective onshore operations centres and provides a first step toward remote management and unmanned operations.”Coupled with onsite remote operations, these capabilities are enabling a step-change improvement in offshore sand management. This opens up new opportunities for production optimisation and autonomy that were previously not possible,” says FourPhase CEO Øyvind Heradstveit.

 253.
FourPhase has been capturing solids management information since 2013. By utilising its database and simulating operational scenarios, the company has delivered uptime above 99.5% over the last 10 years. The database allows FourPhase to plan new operations by utilising data from real-world field experience as opposed to theoretical values based solely on calculations.

 254.
“As the energy industry operates with multiple, often competing, data-sharing standards, we’ve developed The Observer as a universal solution, integrating over 300 languages and protocols rather than locking into a single standard. This allows for real-time monitoring across diverse equipment—including Multiphase Flow Meter, the DualFlow Desander, Acoustic Sand Detectors, and client plant data—all simultaneously. The goal is to capture and process data instantly, empowering operators with real-time insights to make informed decisions,” says Jørgen Bruntveit, COO/CTO.

 255.
“Many competitors claim real-time monitoring, yet their systems often suffer from minute-long delays and cumbersome designs—some as large as a server rack. The Observer delivers true real-time monitoring in a form factor small enough to hold in one hand,” adds Bruntveit.

 256.
Although real-time condition monitoring and data-driven optimisation are now standard in numerous production-related processes, sand management largely depends on labour-intensive legacy workflows. This reliance hinders the adoption of autonomous platforms and low-manning concepts. FourPhase has bridged this gap by investing heavily in remote monitoring technology. As a result, The Observer now enables comprehensive oversight of its entire fleet, including desanders.
