Silver Heritage owns and operates Tiger Palace Resort Bairahawa, a casino property on the border between Nepal and India. The group also runs games at Millionaire’s Club and Casino in Nepal’s capital, Kathmandu.
The company suspended casino operations in Nepal on March 23 and hotels the next day. The move was part of an effort to curb the further spread of the COVID-19 pandemic in Nepal.
In its latest filing, Silver Heritage said the group’s operations in Nepal rose 6.3% to $2.22 million in revenue through the end of February compared to the first two months of 2019. Adjusted earnings before interest, taxation, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) for the period lost $2,000 compared to a negative EBITDA of $73,000 for the same period a year earlier.
In a separate filing specifying cash flow for the first quarter of 2020, Silver Heritage said revenue fell 41.5% year over year to $2.57 million in the first quarter of 2020. Net cash from operating activities was $1.68 million, down 11.4% from the first three months of 2019.
Silver Heritage said it had secured loans worth US$1 million from multiple bondholders in January. The money, offered under multiple terms, would be used as working capital, the company previously said.

The initial casino closure notice was described by Kangwon Land, the resort’s promoter, as a precautionary measure related to the COVID-19 pandemic, which has had a serious national impact.
Kangwon Land originally announced the temporary closure of the casino from noon on February 23 to 6 a.m. on the 26th, but extended the closure seven times in a row until today (4th).
The company said in a filing on Monday that it expects casino sales lost since casino shutters began on Feb. 23 to reach 286.8 billion won ($233.7 million), at the time it declared an eighth extension of its closure. The estimate was based on Kangwon Land’s daily casino revenue in 2019, the plan’s promoter added.
The company previously announced that it would suspend its non-gaming business from March 2. On Monday, Kangwon Land said that the complex’s non-gaming facilities will gradually open as the country’s COVID-19 disease evolves.
At least two Korean foreigner-only casino operators also announced a temporary suspension of gaming operations in line with South Korea’s efforts to curb the further spread of the COVID-19 pandemic. Grand Korea Leisure Inc. suspended gaming operations until Wednesday (May 6). Paradise Inc. reopened four gaming venues in April.
As of Sunday, South Korea had recorded a total of 10,793 COVID-19 infections and 250 deaths, according to the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
South Korea has been praised by international experts as one of the first countries in the world to control a major COVID-19 outbreak. The number of new cases in South Korea has been gradually decreasing since peaking at 909 on Feb. 28.

<content:encoded><![CDATA[Casino operator Genting Malaysia Bhd on Thursday reported a net loss for its shareholders of about $418 million ($96 million) in the first quarter of 2020 due to a decline in overall business due to COVID-19. The company has major operations at the Resorts World Genting Casino Complex in the Genting Highlands near Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia’s capital, and also operates casinos in the United States, the Bahamas, the United Kingdom, and Egypt. The group also manages several other hotel properties in Malaysia that don’t have games.
Operations at the group’s resorts worldwide have been temporarily suspended since mid-March in an effort to stem the further spread of the coronavirus pandemic. All resorts remain closed in Malaysia.
“We are currently preparing to resume operations,” Genting Malaysia said in an announcement on Thursday, adding that the company is “focused on leveraging domestic demand to generate visits and revenue.”
The organization also said it was working on a “modified schedule” for the completion and opening of an outdoor theme park for the resort’s World Genting. The organization said construction work on the theme park had been “affected” by restrictions imposed by the Malaysian government since March. Previous comments from investment analysts suggested the theme park is scheduled to open in the third quarter of this year.
Genting Malaysia said it was already implementing “aggressive cost control” measures amid the health crisis. Those measures included a reduction in operating spending, including salaries, and cancellations or deferrals of non-essential capital spending.
Revenue was nearly 1.96 billion yuan in the first quarter, down 28.5% from a year earlier. Adjusted earnings before interest, taxation, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) were 355.4 million yuan in the first three months of 2020, down 48.0% from a year earlier.
The group’s hospitality and leisure division posted revenue of just under 1.92 billion yuan in the three months to March 31, down 28.8% year-on-year. Gaming revenue for the period was down 30.1% year-on-year to nearly 1.45 billion yuan, the company said.
Genting Malaysia said the decline in gross sales and EBITDA in the first quarter was “mainly due to a temporary disruption in the operation of group resorts worldwide due to the COVID-19 outbreak, which severely impacted its business volume.”
There is no dividend proposal or disclosure for the quarter ended March 31, 2020.
Malaysia’s leisure and hospitality business reported revenue declines and adjusted EBITDA of 36% and 40% year-over-year, respectively, slightly below 1.23 billion yuan and 331.2 million yuan.

One of them is the number left by the bullpen. NC ranks first with a 3.64 ERA. Not only the earned run average (3.60) for the starter, but also the earned run average (3.84) for the bullpen. NC is the only team that has a three-point bullpen ERA this season.

In addition, according to the operator of Grand Ho Tram Streep, a new 502-room facility on the site, Holiday Inn Resort Ho Tram Beach, will be launched “at the end of June.”
The Grand Hotram Streep, located off the coast of Vietnam in southeastern Ho Chi Minh City, was developed by Hotram Project Limited. The complex has a casino open to foreigners only.
Hotel and resort operator InterContinental Hotel Group PLC (InterContinental Hotel Group PLC) announced the introduction of two of its hotel brands into the Grand Ho tram strip in 2019.
According to an IHG announcement at the time, the Grand Ho Tram Hotel was undergoing a refurbishment prior to the InterContinental Grand Ho Tram rebranding plan.
In 2019, IHG said it planned to introduce a holiday-in brand on its Grand Ho tram strip.
The Grand Ho Tram Streep operator told GGRAsia that the hotel tower, Holiday Inn Resort Ho Tram Beach, will be targeted for family-level visitors.
Vietnam banned most inbound travel by foreigners in March last year until further notice as part of its measures against the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Grand Ho Tram Strip is being developed in several stages. The first phase of the project, which includes a hotel and a casino, began in July 2013.
The company, managed by Warburg Pincus LLC, a U.S.-based private equity firm, is the majority shareholder of Asian Coast Development Ltd (ADL).
The latter is the promoter of The Grand Hot Tram Strip and the parent company of Hot Tram Project Company. Vina Capital Group Ltd, a Vietnamese investment company, holds a minority stake in the controlling company of ACDL.

The off-game return areas mentioned on Paradise Inc’s corporate website were a spa facility, Sea Mer, and an indoor family theme park, Wonderbox. The facility has been closed for about a year due to the pandemic.
Paradise Co., which operates foreigner-only casinos in Korea, is one of the partners of Paradise City Resort along with Japan’s Sega Sammy Holdings Inc. Sega Sammy’s parents are also involved in a consortium that includes Genting Singapore Inc., which hopes to build a casino resort in Yokohama, Japan.
In its first-quarter earnings report filed in May, Paradise City’s non-gaming facilities such as Hotel “Art Paradiso,” Club “Chroma,” Spa “Simmer” and “Wonderbox” have been “temporarily closed” since July 1, 2020.
The Paradise City Resort will hold the opening ceremony of the “2021 Korea International Travel Fair,” a multi-faceted event organized by the Incheon Tourism Organization and the Korea Tourism Organization, on June 29, separately reported Wednesday.

Kangwon Land officials also told GGRA Asia that as officials did not visit Kangwon Land casino facilities, the resort’s gaming facilities were still operating, although capacity was reduced following pandemic response measures.
