50.

Is it a surprise that Morocco is the best country to retire in Africa? The North African country doesn’t cross a lot of minds but it is the perfect place to be in retirement. Far from misconceptions associated with its culture and traditions as a Muslim-dominated country; it is a paradise on earth.

 51.
Interestingly, a lot of foreigners settled down in a nation with an exceptionally varied environment. Morocco features sunny beaches, cold mountains, thick cedar woods, dry deserts, and a low cost of living. Infrastructure is modern, the government is steady, and it’s safe. Besides, there is widespread use of Arabic, Spanish, French, and English.

 52.
Why Morocco is the Best Country to Retire in Africa

 53.
Morocco is an absolute gem for anyone looking to have a new life in retirement. There is a lot that the Berber-dominated country offers. Talk of the calm aura and scenery that the Mediterranean and the Atlantic Oceans present; heavenly. Looking further at why Morocco is the best country to retire in Africa, most expats cite the fun experience as the leading reason.

 55.
Unlike other African countries, popular Moroccan cities such as Marrakech, Casablanca, Essaouira, Rabat and Tangier charm foreigners into settling here permanently. Pleasant weather and an easy life appeal the most to retirees especially those from the US and Europe where life moves very fast.

 56.
Is It a Good Idea to Live in Morocco?

 57.
Living and retiring in Morocco is a great idea. With an interest in its five major cities, you will understand in depth why Morocco is the best country to retire in Africa. Here is a review of what each of these cities offers.

 58.
Marrakech

 59.
Marrakech is a tourist hub owing to its cultural immersion. It oozes a lot of energy, with its bustling medina (old town), breathtaking architecture, and mouthwatering cuisine, which all offer a full cultural immersion.

 60.
Essaouira

 61.

Essaouira city in Morocco. Photo/Morocco

 62.
Compared to Marrakech, this quaint seaside city has a more laid-back vibe. Those looking for a slower pace of life and proximity to the Atlantic Ocean love Essaouira more. It has stunning beaches, a laid-back atmosphere, and a developing art scene.

 63.
Rabat

 64.
Rabat combines historical relevance with contemporary conveniences. This city may be a suitable option for expatriates who value a multicultural setting with convenient access to international businesses and government services.

 65.
Casablanca

 66.
As the largest Moroccan city and the country’s capital, Casablanca offers a lively commercial community in a contemporary setting. Its appeal is to foreigners looking for a city where they can put their skills and have a taste of Western conveniences.

 67.
Tangier

 68.
Tangier city which is at the meeting point of Europe and Africa has a thriving art scene in addition to a distinctive cultural mix. It appeals to expats who are lured to a more bohemian lifestyle and historical relevance. Culture and history are great ways for retirees to spend time as they learn and understand the Berber world.

 69.
Is Morocco a Good Place to Live and Work?

 70.
Without a doubt, Morocco is an excellent place to live and work. The country’s social, economic and political setting supports quality living. Family makes up Morocco’s social life and most expats learn to live with this.

 71.
Secondly, it is a peaceful country despite its very religious and conservative population. Its continuous social, economic, and political reform agenda makes it a desirable option for a large number of foreigners. Once you provide proof of income to the authorities, you get a residency permit. Beneficiaries of this program describe it as the most efficient process in the country’s administrative section.

 72.
What do Most People in Morocco do for a Living?

 73.
Most people in Morocco are in the tourism and agriculture sectors. Renewable energy, sports and small microenterprises also provide a living for the people. It is estimated that 39%, of Morocco’s population farm and rear livestock for a living while an equally high number is in the tourism sector. Tourism is a leading foreign exchange earner as at least 10 million tourists visit Morocco each year.

 74.
Conclusion

 75.
Marrakech, the Atlas Mountains, beautiful Essaouira, food and social culture provide retirees with their long-thought-of life after retirement. For those who love a lively lie and sedate lifestyle, different Moroccan cities have it all.

 99.

The global fashion industry has referenced African fashion for years. It’s no surprise that you picture the beauty of West African dress styles. Everything about fashion in West Africa is amazing. Whether it is the fresh shapes and vibrant colours the world yearns for or the once-a-year Lagos Fashion Show Week which brings the household and upcoming designers together and the best models from different parts of the world. Today, we focus on West African dress styles and how the fashion industry in this part of the continent has grown over the years.

 100.
What Is the Traditional Dress of West Africa?

 101.
For a long time, the majority of Africans did not dress for warmth, thanks to the continent’s warm climates. The first clothing in West Africa and the continent at large were furs, skin and hides and bark cloth. The rest of the body was simply covered with decorations.

 102.

West African dress styles. Photo/ Pinterest.

 103.
Whereas men put on loin clothes, women were satisfied with wearing wraps around their waists. In other communities, girls used to wear just skirts and only started covering the whole body after getting married. When shipping routes opened between Asia, Europe and Africa, trade increased and uncommon items were sold to Africans. These included buttons, shells and beads which Africans started to decorate their simple clothes with.

 104.
Since each community has their own unique fashion sense, it’s impossible to pick the traditional dress of Africa. Overall, these dresses shared a few things in common – rich colours, intricate patterns, of course, cultural significance.

 105.
What Garment Is Worn in West Africa?

 106.
Modern West Africa is very colourful. Clothes are made with a range of various materials, including cotton, fur, flax, chiffon, silk, jute, among others.

 107.
Below are some of the traditional clothes that make the best West African dress styles:

 108.

 109.
Kente: Kente, which comes from the word kenten translating to basket in Akan dialect Asante, is a type of silk and cotton fabric that has its origin among the Ewe and Ashanti people of Ghana. It is made of interwoven cloth strips and is also worn by many other communities in West Africa that have been influenced by the Akans.

 110.
Dashiki: Dashiki is one of the most popular clothing and is known to make the best West African dress styles. For starters, the name dashiki is Yoruba and it refers to a colourful garment that covers the upper part of the body. Dashiki has its origin in West Africa but has spread in other parts of the continent and beyond. In East Africa they refer to it as ‘kitenge’.

 111.
Boubou: Boubou is another popular garment in West Africa that is mostly associated with Nigerians. It is a classic robe made of one large rectangle of fabric and has an opening in the centre of the neck. Boubou is worn by both women and men. The Senegalese boubou is called grand boubou.

 112.
Isiagu: Also called Chieftaincy, isiagu is a highly prestigious attire that has its roots among the Igbo people of Nigeria. The word isiagu translates to the head of a leopard but you will be surprised to see that the clothing actually has a head of a lion. It signifies pride, authority and power.

 113.
Toghu: Also known as Atoghu, toghu is a colourful fabric, that is beautifully decorated and very common among the Bamileke community in Cameroon. In most cases, it is usually black, orange or gold. Just like isiagu, toghu also demonstrated the power and was previously worn by those in power or authority.

 114.
Iro and buba: Iro and buba have their roots in Nigeria and are one of the garments used to make the best West African dress styles. The clothing is very common among the Yoruba people.
 115.

White lace iro and buba, Photo/ Modavracha.

 116.

 117.
What Are West Africa’s Colours?

 118.
Just like in many other parts of the world, the colour of a cloth someone puts on in West Africa means something, just as shown below:

 119.

 120.
Black: Black means mourning and funeral rites

 121.
Grey: This one symbolizes cleansing and healing rites. It could also mean ashes

 122.
White: Also means cleansing. However, it is also worn during the festive season

 123.
Purple: Associated with femininity and is mostly worn by women

 124.
Maroon: Maroon means healing

 125.
Pink: Pink represents feminine qualities

 126.
Red: Red means death or bloodshed.

 127.
Green: Green relates to land and harvest

 128.

 163.
Which African Country Dresses the Best?

 164.
Finally, this is the part where we answer the question of which African country has the best fashion. Fashion in Africa has evolved over the years, but designers have made sure our traditions are not completely forgotten when we adopt the Western style. Throughout the continent, various countries are still taking pride in their traditional attires and are arguably the best dressed.

 165.
Ghana with its traditional clothing kente takes pride as the African country that dresses in the best manner. For starters, kente is a classic unisex African garment that is very common among the Ashanti people. The clothing, which was worn as a toga by Ghanaian royalties, is now very popular overseas.

 166.

Ghana’s kente cloth. Photo/ Gallivant Africa.

 167.
Nigeria with its Boubou also deserves to be mentioned when talking about the African countries that dress the best. Boubou is a garment won by both men and women and is common not only in Nigeria but also in Mali, Mauritania and Djibouti. It is considered an outward sign of wealth in other communities.

 168.
What Is the Most Fashionable City in Africa?

 169.
The trendsetting fashion capitals in Africa are some of the biggest cities on the continent. Below are the most fashionable cities in Africa:

 170.

 171.
Lagos, Nigeria

 172.
Johannesburg, South Africa

 205.

Talk of beautiful dunes and Big Daddy Namibia takes it home. However, this breathtaking scenery at the Namib Desert, Africa’s home to the biggest sand dunes is attracting ‘overexcited tourists.’

 206.
A short while back, a group of tourists posed for photos while in their ‘birthday suit’ and this drew lots of criticism from Namibians. They couldn’t comprehend why the Big Daddy Dune had to be shared with the rest of the world in this manner. Consequently, Namibian authorities denounced the visitors who took photos atop the Big Daddy dune while in a very compromising physical state.

 207.
A spokesman for the tourist ministry informed local media that the unidentified international visitors might not be allowed to enter any of Namibia’s parks ever again.

 208.
Where is the Big Daddy Sand Dune?

 209.
The stunning Big Daddy dune is located halfway between the Deadvlei and Sossusvlei regions of the Namib Desert. It dwarfs the other dunes at 325 meters to stand as the tallest sand dune in Sossusvlei.

 210.
How Long Does It Take to Climb Big Daddy Namibia?

 211.

The Big Daddy Dune in Namib Desert. Photo/Pinterest

 212.
Big Daddy Namibia, is more than simply a charming landscape. It is a war against nature posed as a tourist destination. Despite the gorgeous climb it presents in photos, it hands you a perfect endurance test in reality. Big Daddy is not as tall as he looks at 325 meters. Your feet sink into the searing sand, making every stride feel like two back. The already difficult ascent becomes even more difficult due to the unrelenting heat in the desert.

 213.
Although it may seem doable, most people consider one hour to be an optimistic estimate. It’s a mental and physical struggle to climb. Lungs scream for oxygen, muscles burn, and the top feels forever away. However, something amazing occurs. As you cross a ridge, the Namib desert opens up in front of you. A reward worth every drop of sweat is Deadvlei’s skeletal trees, which stand guard against an unending crimson dune landscape.

 214.
Even though the fall is simpler, it still poses a unique difficulty. The loose sand turns into a river that flows and tempts you to run, which is a surefire way to end badly. Interestingly, even the most experienced climbers are humbled by Big Daddy Namibia. It’s an ongoing struggle against the environment, oneself, and the constant want to give up. But what really makes the trek an amazing experience are the bragging rights, the stunning vista, and the sense of accomplishment at the top.

 215.
What is the Highest Dune in Namibia?

 216.
Dune 7 is the highest dune in Namibia. It is the crowned monarch of Namibian sand dunes, rising to a whopping height of 383 meters. A clean sand mountain, the hues of blazing orange changing with each gust of wind characterize this dune. The ascent is a pilgrimage for daring individuals. Every footfall sinks a momentary imprint on this ever-shifting terrain. The unrelenting heat of the sun causes perspiration to shimmer like mirages in the distance. But the world changes more the higher you go. Below you, the desert stretches out endlessly, a magnificent canvas adorned with intense shades of purple and orange.

 217.

Dune 7 in the Namib Desert. Photo/Peter Ndungu

 218.
It is a victory to reach the pinnacle. You are dwarfed by the sheer size of the desert as you stand atop a giant. As a sobering reminder of the unadulterated power of nature, the planet appears to go on forever. The azure Atlantic Ocean waves shimmer far away, as to a precious gem against the arid landscape.

 219.
Those who have been to Dune 7 describe it as an experience rather than merely a geographical wonder. It’s an endurance test, an incentive for determination and a window into Namibia’s breathtakingly beautiful desert interior. Even if the wind quickly wipes them away, it’s a spot where you leave your mark on history.

 220.
Where is the Tallest Sand Dune in Africa?

 221.
Sossusvlei dunes – Dune 7 in particular – at the heart of the Namib Desert is Africa’s tallest sand dune. It rises to 1,256 ft (383 metres). Climbing to the top is treacherous but rewarding too with a panoramic view of the desert and breathtaking sceneries to soak in. Another unique thing about Dune 7 is that it is also close to the Atlantic Ocean. It is at the top that you enjoy the best of both worlds; the desert and the ocean.

 222.
Conclusion

 223.
The Namib Desert is a sight to behold with the best views and experiences in an African desert. It is the other option for mountain climbing in the wetter regions of Africa adorned with mountains such as Mt Kenya and Mt Kilimanjaro.

 247.

Which are the most fashionable African countries? African fashion has gained much recognition in the past few years in the global fashion arena. The boundless creativity and resilience by African designers have earned them a seat on the table in international runway shows where they not only represent their brands but also their countries.

 248.
With the world starting to recognize the efforts of our able designers, we have decided to take a look at the most fashionable African countries. Below are the countries whose street styles, markets and fashion weeks are well-positioned to lead.

 249.
1. Nigeria

 250.
Anyone who has been to Nigeria will agree that they lead the way when it comes to most fashionable African countries. In fact, you just have to watch music videos of their songs or take a look at photos of their trending artists to agree.

 251.

Nigerian models. 252.
Fashion is a way of life in Nigeria and that’s why the country is home to some of the most established designers and rising stars. Lagos, which is a city in Nigeria, is often dubbed the ‘New York of Africa’, as it is the beating heart of Africa’s fashion scene. The city is well known for its vibrant colours, eclectic designs and bold prints. It hosts the famous Lagos Fashion Week, an annual event that attracts the attention of fashionistas from all parts of the world.

 253.
2. South Africa

 254.
A few countries in the continent love fashion like South Africa and it’s no surprise that it ranks among the most fashionable African countries. The growing participation of South African designers in major fashion brands such as the Paris, Milan and New York Fashion Weeks is proof that the country has taken huge strides in developing its fashion industry.

 255.
South African fashion week puts on an amazing show that highlights the potential of the booming industry. Fashion in the southern hemisphere brings everything to the table, including fashionable ethnic looks, dashikis, traditional garbs embellished in beads as well as brightly coloured materials. The city of Johannesburg has emerged as a hub for trendsetting designers who are bringing forth a unique flavour of African authenticity and metropolitan style.

 310.

African Cities with the best healthcare are a true gem to anyone planning an African safari or relocation. Proper health systems are among the top three hierarchy needs some African countries spend millions of dollars in every budget year.

 311.
Moreover, Africa is turning out to be a retirement paradise for different people across the world. One of the major factors they look at is how good a country’s health system is. This article focuses on African cities with advanced health systems.

 312.
Which African Country Has the Best Health Care System?

 313.
South Africa has the best healthcare system in Africa. It scored 63.5 in the continent’s health index in 2023 followed by Kenya with 61.5 points according to Numbeo’s 2023 Health Care Index by City. The health care index considers several variables, including the general standard of treatment, medical specialists, staff, equipment, and physician costs.

 314.
Everyone, including immigrants, is guaranteed access to healthcare under the terms of the South African constitution. Additionally, the public healthcare system provides free basic care in hospitals and clinics, catering to the majority. It also leads the globe in giving HIV/AIDS patients antiretroviral therapy.

 315.
Which are the African Cities With The Best Healthcare?

 316.
Here are the 12 African cities with the best healthcare.

 317.
Cape Town

 318.
One of the many respectable medical facilities in Cape Town is Mediclinic Cape Town, which provides a comprehensive range of medical treatments. Men’s health is also the focus of Men’s Clinic Cape Town, and alternative therapies are offered by Cape Chiropractor and other chiropractic clinics. The city has everything needed to accommodate both locals and visitors.

 319.

Tygerberg Hospital in Cape Town. 320.
Pretoria

 321.
Pretoria is home to medical facilities like the cutting-edge technology-equipped Netcare Pretoria East Hospital and the individualized care-renowned Zuid Afrikaans Hospital. Mediclinic Kloof Hospital is popular for its specialist care. The healthcare system in the city is greatly influenced by these facilities.

 322.
Johannesburg

 323.

King Edward VII’s Hospital in Johannesburg. Photo/LaingBuisson News

 324.
South African capital, Johannesburg is at the heart of African Cities with the best healthcare. King Edward VIII Hospital, a tertiary-level facility located in the capital provides services to KwaZulu-Natal and the larger Eastern Cape region. Joint Medical Holdings (City Hospital) has a trauma unit that is open around-the-clock along with excellent nursing care. There are other private facilities in Johannesburg offering world-class medical services.

 325.
Durban

 326.
Durban is home to the sub-acute hospital Humana Health Care and the pediatric heart surgery centre Ethekwini Hospital and Heart Centre. Then, Lenmed Shifa Hospital provides all-inclusive medical services.

 327.
Nairobi

 328.
Kenya’s capital, Nairobi is not only famous as an East African commercial but also a centre of medical excellence. As one of the African Cities with the best healthcare, players in the sector have invested massively in research, medical equipment, personnel and care. While public hospitals serve a huge population, private hospitals offer specialized and modern care.

 329.
Lagos

 330.
Nigeria’s commercial capital has a glowing healthcare system. Private hospitals carry the day here as they are better staffed, funded and equipped. Generally, though, research development in Nigeria’s medical field is well-funded.

 331.
Casablanca

 332.

Casablanca hospital. Photo/Asharq Al-Awsat

 333.
Morocco’s largest city and capital city has a mix of public and private healthcare options. The public system offers heavily subsidized care, but quality may vary depending on location. Private facilities are emerging, particularly for wealthier citizens, offering more specialized treatment. Still factoring in the quality of services offered, it makes it to the African Cities with the best healthcare.

 334.
Algiers

 335.
Algiers prioritizes public healthcare and offers substantial subsidies, much like Casablanca. A lot of middle-income earners rely on the public healthcare system while the wealthy opt for private options.

 336.
Tunis

 337.
The public healthcare system in Tunisia is highly respected and prioritizes preventative care. In comparison to South Africa, private options are less common in Tunis because of the proactive approach.

 338.
Accra

 339.
The healthcare industry in Ghana’s capital is expanding rapidly. While considerable speciality is available, public hospitals offer basic care as well.

 340.
Alexandria
341. Alexandria has a reputation for being a medical hub for medical studies, and its influence still reigns in the current emphasis on medical research and education. The city has a range of options for both public and private healthcare. Public hospitals offer free medical care, but their supplies and equipment may be limited. Private hospitals with cutting-edge equipment and specialized physicians, win it with the best medical care in Africa.

 342.
Cairo

 343.
Cairo, the Egyptian capital, has the nation’s greatest concentration of medical facilities and specialists. Compared to other cities, there is a greater variety of innovative therapies available at numerous hospitals that specialize in different sectors.

 344.
Its public healthcare system sometimes struggles with overcrowding, lengthy wait periods, and inadequate funding. Nevertheless, it provides very good services. Private hospitals, such as Dar Al Fouad Hospital, provide a more comfortable experience with staff who understand English and state-of-the-art technology.

 345.
Conclusion

 346.
In the 12 African cities with the best healthcare, it is evident that private hospitals score highly. While public hospitals try to match the services offered in private facilities, they are not as largely funded which impacts the quality of services. Nevertheless, they are equally great.

 452.

Kenya leads the way in having the most handsome men in Africa 2024 which is highly interesting. A new survey by Insider Monkey puts together a list of 10 countries in Africa with the most desirable men. Perhaps by physique and a few other pointers.

 453.
Before we get into the African countries whose men are so much desired, let’s understand the physiological science behind these findings.

 454.
What Makes a Man Handsome?

 455.
Attraction is highly influenced by our tastes and beliefs today just as yester years. Research indicates that males with symmetrical faces are likely to be viewed as more handsome than those with asymmetrical faces. This is despite the fact that it is impossible to absolutely measure what individuals find attractive. Among the characteristics that distinguish a symmetrical face are prominent cheekbones and well-defined jawlines.

 456.
Men also appear more attractive because of their height as well. Taller guys are thought to possess greater self-assurance. Furthermore, males who have muscular bodies are more attractive to women because they represent strength. Men’s physical attributes aid in making a good initial impression, but over time, women are drawn to men’s personalities. Personality traits can sometimes compensate for a lack of physical attributes. Generally speaking, women prefer self-assured men with a vision and are family Keepers.

 457.
Which Countries Have the Most Handsome Men in Africa 2024?

 458.
These are the top 10 African countries with the most desirable men in 2024 in ascending order.

Beyond the satisfaction of this meal, it’s an essential part of the country’s culture, and every step of its preparation reflected in this dish. Food enthusiasts from far and beyond have beautiful things to say about it.

 508.
Is Doro Wat Ethiopian Chicken Stew a National Dish in Ethiopia?

 509.
Doro wat Ethiopian chicken stew is absolutely a national dish in Ethiopia. 511.
Doro Wat Ethiopian Chicken Stew Ingredients

 512.
Doro wat boasts a simple yet powerful combination of ingredients. You need the following ingredients.

 513.

 514.
Chicken: Traditionally bone-in pieces like drumsticks or thighs are used, adding richness and depth of flavour to the stew.

 515.
Berbere: This complex spice blend forms the soul of doro wat. It typically includes chillies, fenugreek, ginger, garlic, cloves, and other spices, varying slightly by region and family recipe.

 516.
Niter Kibbeh: This clarified spiced butter, sometimes substituted with ghee, adds a nutty richness and helps bloom the flavours of the berbere.

 517.
Onions: Finely chopped onions form the base of the stew, caramelizing for sweetness and complexity.

 518.
Tomatoes: Crushed tomatoes or tomato paste provide tanginess and balance the spice of the berbere.

 519.
Garlic & Ginger: These aromatics add depth and earthiness to the stew.

 520.
Chicken Stock: Provides additional flavour and helps create a rich stew base.

 521.
Water: Adjust the amount of water to achieve your desired stew consistency.

 522.
Salt & Pepper: Season to taste, keeping in mind the saltiness of the berbere.

 523.

 524.
How to Prepare Doro Wat Chicken

 525.
Follow these five easy steps in preparing delicious doro wat chicken stew at home.

 526.

 527.
Start with bone-in chicken chunks, onions, tomatoes, garlic, ginger, clarified butter (or ghee), chicken broth, berbere spice (available online or in speciality stores), and injera (optional but highly recommended).

 528.
Caramelize onions with clarified butter on high heat. Cook the berbere to release its powerful scent.

 529.
Present the chicken pieces and drench them in the spice blend. Add the broth, tomatoes, ginger, and garlic. Simmer to allow the flavours to mingle.

 530.
Simmer until the chicken is falling off the bone, which should take at least one hour. Add a little of salt and pepper to taste.

 531.
Serve up your chicken stew with injera. The savoury stew is soaked up by the spongy flatbread, which is traditionally served on injera. Use your favourite grain or rice as an alternative.

 532.

 533.

Doro Wat. 589.
The ‘Liberian Girl’ singer visited Nigeria in May 1998 for the World Economic Forum held in Windhoek where he was a guest speaker. Jackson addressed the forum on the need for all players to end child abuse and neglect. He cited physical and se3ual abuse as deterrents of development in Namibia and other parts of Africa at the time. Topped with child labour, lack of education and homelessness; the rights of children were utterly violated.

 590.
Michael Jackson later visited the SOS Children’s Village to continue his support of children. There, he spoke with the kids and gave them gifts, including a U$20,000 donation. It is then that he headed out to O Portuga Restaurant Windhoek, making history for the establishment across Namibia.

 595.
“Great location and amazing food options. A lot of food options are available from seafood to steak and desserts.

 596.
Lastly, “I had a dinner in this restaurant and I ordered the galjoen fish grilled. It was well prepared and presented. The place can be loud as people also watch the games on tv, but generally clean, proper and the food is of very large proportion! And the prices are reasonable. I recommend [it] when you are in Windhoek and craving for seafood!”

 597.
Conclusion
