2024 파리올림픽에서 누구보다 바쁜 일정을 소화한 ‘삐약이’ 신유빈이 한국 탁구의 든든한 에이스로 다시 태어났다.
10일(한국시간) 2024 파리올림픽 탁구 여자 단체전에서 전지희, 이은혜와 동메달을 합작한 신유빈은 어린시절 방송을 통해 먼저 이름을 알렸다.
신유빈이 5살이던 2009년 SBS 예능 프로그램 ‘스타킹’에서 5살 꼬마 현정화로 소개됐다.
현정화 마사회 감독과 팽팽한 탁구 대결을 펼쳐 국민들을 놀라게 했다.
이후 MBC 무한도전에 출연해 탁구 신동으로 국민적 응원을 받았다.
초등학교 시절 국내 최고 권위 대회인 종합선수권대회에서 대학생 선수를 4-0으로 완파하며 화제를 모았고, 중학교 2학년 때엔 조대성과 한조로 종합선수권 혼합복식에 나서 준우승을 차지했다.
2019년 아시아선수권을 앞두고 치러진 국가대표 선발전에서는 당시 만 14세 11개월의 나이로 태극마크를 달아 최연소 기록을 세웠다.
만 17세이던 2021년에는 2020도쿄올림픽 출전권을 획득해 국제무대 경쟁력을 입증했다.
첫 올림픽이었던 도쿄 대회에서 비록 메달을 목에 걸지는 못했지만 당차고 공격적인 플레이로 명승부를 연출했다.
힘껏 타구를 날릴 때에는 기합이 병아리가 삐약하는 듯한 특유의 소리로 ‘삐약이’라는 별명까지 얻었다.

이번 대회에서는 혼합복식에서 임종훈과 동메달을 따낸 데 이어 이날 여자 단체전에서 독일을 물리치고 두 번째 동메달을 목에 걸었다.
한국 탁구가 ‘멀티 메달리스트’를 배출한 건 1992년 바르셀로나 대회 이후 32년 만이다.
아직 스무살인 신유빈은 앞으로 올림픽 메달을 수확할 기회가 많다.

2024 파리올림픽 개막 이후 15일 동안 14경기 강행군을 펼친 신유빈은 올림픽 두 번째 메달을 따낸 뒤 “나 혼자만 하는 게 아니라 언니들이 옆에 있어 지칠 수가 없었다”고 말했다.
10일(현지시간) 전지희, 이은혜와 함께 탁구 여자 단체전 동메달을 거머쥔 신유빈은 경기 뒤 공동취재구역 인터뷰에서 “조금은 지쳤지만, 단체전이어서 더 정신적으로 버티려고 했다”며 이같이 밝혔다.
신유빈은 “눈앞에 메달이 보이니까 좀 더 이겨내려고 했던 것 같다”며 “지금은 집중력을 다 쓴 것 같아 좀 자야 할 것 같다”며 웃었다.
이어 “정말 노력한 것을 후회 없이 보여준 대회라고 생각한다.
마음이 편하다.
많은 경기를 치렀는데 드디어 끝나서 후련하다”고 했다.
신유빈은 올림픽 개막 다음 날인 27일부터 거의 하루도 빠짐없이 경기를 치러야 했다.
하루 두 경기를 치른 날도 이틀이나 된다.
15일 동안 14경기를 치르며 휴식일은 딱 3일뿐이었다.

이날 프랑스 파리 사우스 파리 아레나에서 열린 2024 파리올림픽 탁구 여자 단체전 동메달 결정전에서 전지희, 이은혜와 함께 독일을 3-0으로 제압하고 동메달의 주인공이 됐다.
한국 여자 탁구가 올림픽 단체전 메달을 따낸 건 2008년 베이징 올림픽 이후 16년 만이다.

지난 9일 경기 고양 서울YMCA고양국제청소년문화센터에서 열린 이 행사는 전국의 수영 꿈나무 25명과 황선우,김우민 등 한국 남자 수영 제2의 전성기를 연 계영 대표팀 선수들이 대거 참가했다.
참가 학생은 대한수영연맹에 등록된 초등부(4학년~6학년) 선수를 대상으로, 지난 9월 27일부터 10월 11일까지 연맹 공식홈페이지를 통해 모집했다.
모집 기간 동안 100명이 넘는 수영 꿈나무가 신청했으며 최종 참가자는 무작위 추첨을 통해 선정되었다.
여기에 CJ그룹 임직원 자녀 5명을 더해 남녀 총 25명이 초청됐다.
한국 수영 간판 황선우, 파리 올림픽 자유형 400m 동메달리스트 김우민과 이호준 양재훈 이유연으로 구성된 남자 계영 대표팀이 등장하자 유망주들은 뜨겁게 환영했다.
5인 1조로 진행된 레슨에서 선수들은 유망주 5명의 멘토로서 기본 자세와 자신만의 연습법을 진지하게 전수했다.
황선우는 팔 동작을 직접 보여주며 자세를 알려줬고, 김우민은 턴 동작을 집중적으로 알려주기도 했다.
수영장 곳곳에서 질문과 웃음 소리가 끊이지 않았다. 하나라도 더 배우고 싶은 유망주들의 질문 공세가 이어져 원포인트 레슨 시간이 예정보다 길어지기도 했다.

각 선수와 멘토 5명으로 구성된 팀 간의 300m 계영 레이스도 펼쳐졌다.
초반에는 황선우 팀과 김우민 팀이 앞서 나갔으나, 후반 앙재훈과 마지막 주자가 선전한 양재훈 팀이 1위로 골인해 우승했다.
이날 행사를 마친 뒤 김하율 참가자(세종 두루초등학교 6학년)는 “원래 TV에서 보던 선수들이었는데 실제로 보고 같이 수영도 해보니까 너무 빠르고 너무 키가 커서, 나도 빨리 그렇게 되고 싶다는 생각 들었다”며 “오늘 행사가 올림픽에서 메달이라는 꿈을 이루는 데에 씨앗이 될 것 같다”고 말했다.
김유상 CJ 스포츠 마케팅 상무는 “참여한 학생들이 수영을 즐기고 꿈을 향해 나아가는 데 오늘의 경험이 작은 도움이 되었으면 좋겠다”며 “앞으로도 CJ그룹의 ‘꿈지기 철학’ 실천을 위해 여러 종목으로 ‘락커룸’ 행사를 확대할 예정.

한국은 13일 대만 타이베이돔에서 열린 프리미어12 B조 예선 라운드 1차전 대만과의 경기에서 만루홈런을 두들겨 맞는 등 선발투수 고영표의 난조 속에 3-6으로 졌다.
첫 경기부터 패배를 떠안은 한국은 슈퍼라운드 진출을 위해선 남은 4경기에서 다 이겨야 하는 큰 부담을 갖고 나서게 됐다.
사이드암 고영표와 미국프로야구 마이너리그에서 뛰고 있는 대만의 좌완 강속구 투수 린여우민이 선발 대결을 펼친 경기에서 한국은 경기 초반 홈런 두 방을 맞고 무너졌다.
고영표는 2회말 1사 후 반제가이에게 내야안타를 맞았다.

Such earnings for the slot machine maker and digital content provider are likely to be just over AUD2.10 billion (US$1.34 billion) for the financial year to September 30, versus a previous forecast of just over AUD2.05 billion, said the brokerage in a Tuesday memo.
“Strong free cash flow generation means the balance sheet is in excellent shape, even after completion of the NeoGames acquisition and the current share buyback” programme, wrote analysts Donald Carducci and Michael James, in outlook commentary ahead of the gaming technology group’s fiscal-year earnings.
They were referring latterly to online real-money gaming provider NeoGames SA. Under a deal, first announced in May, Aristocrat Leisure was to acquire 100 percent of NeoGames for a cash price of US$29.50 per share. The overall acquisition was valued at AUD1.80 billion, to be funded with existing cash, according to previous information by the suitor.
Aristocrat Leisure had approximately AUD3.5 billion in available liquidity as of March 31, “to support committed and future investments”.
JP Morgan said it expects Aristocrat Leisure to achieve revenue of AUD6.14 billion in fiscal-year 2023, 10.2-percent higher than in the <a href="https://www.casinositewiki.com/">온라인카지노사이트</a> previous year. The firm’s net profit after tax might reach AUD1.24 billion in the 12 months to September 30, compared to AUD949.0 million in the prior year.
In May, the group reported revenue of AUD3.08 billion for its financial first half to March 31, up 12.2 percent from the prior-year period. The company posted an interim profit after tax and amortisation of AUD692.7 million, a 23.2-percent increase from a year ago.
Aristocrat Leisure has three main businesses: Aristocrat Gaming, for the land-based casino and gaming market; Pixel United, for online social games, and Anaxi for online real-money gaming.
“On a group level, we forecast an approximately 1 percent fall in bookings with social casual declines slightly offset by social casino gains,” wrote the JP Morgan analysts.
“It is worth recalling the second half Pixel United profit skew expected to occur in this [pending] result. With a weaker top line, we expect Aristocrat Leisure will have managed expenses in particular user acquisition” costs, they added.
Though the JP Morgan team said Aristocrat Leisure was strong on reinvestment in terms of content development.
“Sustained success requires sustained investment – and we believe over the long term Aristocrat Leisure have built a strong competitive advantage through consistent design and development investment,” said the brokerage.

Macau casino operator Galaxy Entertainment Group Ltd might want to examine tapping debt capital markets in the post-founder era, as overall it could boost shareholder returns. That is according to analyst Vitaly Umansky, of Seaport Research Partners, in a Monday note after the casino company gave the news that day of the death on November 7 of the firm’s founding chairman Lui Che Woo.
Mr Umansky stated: “One area we hope to see develop over time would be capital structure, as Galaxy remains one of the few debt-free casino companies with ample debt capacity.”
He added: “If Galaxy were to take on some debt – while remaining a solid investment grade credit – with relatively low cost, equity returns (and return of capital) could be significantly enhanced.”
The casino company said last week in unaudited highlights of its third-quarter results that as of September 30 its balance sheet remained “healthy and liquid.” Cash and liquid investments were HKD28.6 billion (US$3.68 billion) and the net position was HKD27.4 billion after debt of HKD1.2 billion.
Seaport stated: “While Galaxy paid a HKD0.50 dividend [per share] in October – 50 percent payout – on top of the HKD0.30 [apiece] special dividend announced earlier this year, we would like to see further increase in return of capital to shareholders.”
Analyst Mr Umansky observed: “We see further ability to expand return of capital to shareholders. But more impactful would be for Galaxy to incorporate low-cost debt into its capital structure which would increase equity returns.”
Aside from the potential for a different approach to capital management in a post-founder stage of the business, Seaport said it did not “anticipate any changes” in Galaxy Entertainment’s “strategy or management structure”.
Mr Umansky said: “Galaxy management structure and strategy remains in place with Francis Lui remaining firmly in place and will most certainly be elevated to chairman.”

“The Lui family retains over 50 percent ownership in Galaxy, this will not change,” observed Mr Umansky.
A key element of the Macau strategy was further expansion of Galaxy Macau.
Mr Umansky said, referring to Capella at Galaxy Macau, a new luxury hotel tower at the property anticipated to launch in 2025, and to Phase 4 of the resort: “The opening of Capella luxury resort at Galaxy Macau – 94 villas and suites, along with amenities and gaming – will further enhance the property’s premium positioning and drive further share gains in late 2025 and into 2026.”

AFL boss Andrew Dillon declared a “strong desire” for Thursday night football moved the league to act with a massive 23 games scheduled for the fan-favourite timeslot as part of a major shift in the first year of the league’s new $4.5bn TV deal.
After premiers the Brisbane Lions open the season against Geelong at the Gabba on Thursday, March 6, there will be only two weeks in the regular season where matches won’t be played on Thursday night.

The full 2025 fixture will be confirmed on Thursday, but Dillon said there was clear demand from fans, and broadcasters to deliver the glut of matches which will be played in each of the first 16 weeks of the year.
“There has been a strong desire from fans and our broadcast partners for more Thursday night football and we are excited to be able to deliver in spades next season,” Dillon said.
“Fans will be able to take in a total of 23 games of Thursday night football next season, which is more than there has ever been.”
The matches will be spread around the country with games at the MCG and Marvel Stadium, the Gabba, Perth Stadium , Adelaide Oval as <a href="https://www.powerballsite.com/">파워볼</a> well as GMHBA Stadium in Geelong and TIO Stadium in Darwin. 
But given the immense popularity of the timeslot among fans, the AFL will go hard on Thursday nights in 2025 in a signal for the future.
Essendon is set to feature four times on Thursday night across the first 16 weeks of the season, with Carlton, Hawthorn, Geelong, Western Bulldogs and Brisbane Lions playing three each.
In all, 15 of the 18 clubs will play Thursday night football at least once in the first 16 weeks of the season.

The bombshell news dropped on Wednesday morning with Code Sports first reporting at least two players will need to front the club’s board of directors to fight to avoid having their contracts torn up.
Players are said to have agreed to strict fitness guidelines during exit interviews at the conclusion of last season that would hold them accountable ahead of their return to the training track.
The club made good on the threat <a href="https://www.totosafeguide.com/">스포츠토토사이트</a> with up to five players facing disciplinary action as a result of failing to meet the standards agreed to.
Now Smith has come out and voiced his support for the club over their hard line stance as he slammed the players for being “disrespectful”.
