The average petrol-powered vehicle&#39;s cost to travel 1,000 km is Tk5,375 while an electric vehicle will run Tk1,250.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&quot;Electric vehicles are environmental-friendly ones and the mechanical efficiency of electric vehicles is much higher than that of petrol-run vehicles,&quot; he said.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;According to the state minister, the electric car is one of the most talked-about topics in the world. &quot;We need to plan now for the design of the charging station, the tariff, and where and how to store the vehicle&#39;s information.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;The state minister stated that Bangladesh is currently working towards a fourth industrial revolution, and that sustainable and renewable energy will be a key element in this transformation.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;He stated that electric vehicles will be gradually increasing in order to maintain a balanced environment.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Nasrul directed the power distribution companies in order to create a separate team to address the issue of electric vehicle recharging.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Participants at the meeting hoped that they would work together, as the chairman of the BRTA stated that registration for electric vehicles was underway.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;The virtual meeting was attended by Md Habibur Rahman (Power Secretary), Satyajit Karmakar (Bangladesh Energy and Power Research Council Chairman), Sustainable and Renewable Energy Development Authority Chairman (Sreda), Bangladesh Power Development Board Chairman Belayet Hossain (Bangladesh Rural Electrification Board) Chairman Moin Uddin, Bangladesh Rural Electrification Board Chairman (BERB), Power Cell Director General Mohammad Hossain and heads from various departments.&lt;/p&gt;
