Until about 1960 it was internally known by its engineering code T137 &#8211; a name still used for the original series by enthusiasts. Following Chrysler Corporation policy of badge engineering to provide a greater number of sales outlets overseas, Power Wagons were also marketed around the world under the Fargo and De Soto badges. </p><p>Starting in the 1957 model year, factory four-wheel drive versions of the Dodge C series trucks were produced and sold as the W-100, W-200, W-300, and W-500, alongside the older Power Wagon. The pickups had the &#8220;Power Wagon&#8221; badge on the fender. The older design Power Wagon was marketed as the &#8220;Military Type&#8221; to distinguish it from the styled pickup versions.   344. <content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The Fiat X19 is an Italian two-seater mid-engined sports car designed by Bertone and manufactured by Fiat from 1972-1982 and subsequently by Gruppo Bertone from 1982-1989.</p><p>With a transverse engine and gearbox in a mid-mounted, rear-wheel drive configuration, the X1/9 was noted for its balanced handling, retractable headlights, lightweight removable hardtop which could be stowed under the bonnet, front and rear storage compartments &#8211; and for being the first Fiat to have been designed from its conception to meet US safety regulations. </p><p>Reported numbers vary by source, but about 2/3 of the approximately 160,000 X1/9s produced were sold in the USA. Three generations of X1/9 were sold in the U.S.: 1974 cars, 1975-1978 cars, and 1979-1989 cars.</p><p>The 1974 US examples aligned closely with worldwide models, including small (but U.S.-specific) bumpers, 63 hp (47 kW) 1290 cc engines, and four-sped transmissions. </p><p>The 1975-1978 U.S. cars were unique to the U.S. market with &#8220;ladder-style&#8221; impact absorbing bumpers front and rear. To meet U.S. evaporative and exhaust emission standards, X1/9s were fitted with exhaust has recirculation valves, air pumps and activated charcoal systems. The floor pan, borrowed from the Type 1 Karmann Ghia, offered a wider base than the Beetle, enhancing both stability and handling.</p><p>Initially, the Type 181 featured rear swing axle suspension with reduction gearing from the discontinued split-screen Volkswagen Transporter. However, in 1973, Volkswagen upgraded the suspension to double-jointed axles, similar to those used by Porsche, and an IRS semi-trailing arm setup, akin to the 1303 and US-spec Beetles.
