51.
Pearl Jam front man Eddie Vedder explained the meaning behind the band’s politically-themed song off their album “Dark Matter.”

 52.
The song titled “Wreckage” is purportedly about Donald Trump, Vedder told the Times, calling the former president and candidate “desperate to win” and only looking to avoid imprisonment.

 53.
“There is a guy in the United States who is still saying he didn’t lose an election,” he told the British outlet. “And people are reverberating and amplifying that message as if it is true.”

 54.
“Trump is desperate. I don’t think there has ever been a candidate more desperate to win, just to keep himself out of prison and to avoid bankruptcy. It is all on the line, and he’s out there playing the victim — at least they’re doing this to me, because if not they would be doing it to you — but you haven’t falsified your tax records,” he continued.

 55.
Some of the song’s lyrics allude to Trump not willing to admit that he is wrong so long as he wins by any means, leaving nothing left in his path:

 56.

 57.

Oh, visited by thoughts and not just in the night
That I no longer give a f***who is wrong and who’s right
This game of winner takes all and all means nothing left
Spoils go the victor and the other left for dead

 58.
Uh-huh, combing through the wreckage
Holding out, holding on
Combing through the wreckage

 59.

 60.

 61.
“You don’t have classified information in your basement. So the song is saying, let’s not be driven apart by one person, especially not a person without any worthy causes,” Vedder went on.

 62.
Prompted with the possibility that Trump’s time in the spotlight is waning, the singer said that he felt if a person doesn’t have some sort of mental qualms with 45th president, they may not be a “thoughtful” person.

 63.
“I can’t wait,” Vedder said in response to the end of the Trump era. “Most thoughtful people are going through a bit of PTSD about it now, so maybe you’re right.”

 64.
The 59-year-old concluded by waxing poetically about art being the truest expression of one’s personality.

 65.
“I knew I wanted to express myself in music, whether anyone heard it or not … you think, if someone were to hear this, maybe they would know me better. Maybe that is the power of any art form, actually: to get to know someone.”

 66.
The April 19, 2024, release is Pearl Jam’s twelfth studio album. The band has sold over 25 million albums worldwide since their 1991 debut “Ten,” which went diamond (13 times platinum).

 212.
This property pairs well with deep-pocketed wine lovers.

 213.
In California’s internationally renowned wine region of Sonoma County, a sprawling vineyard and its stately main house have come to market for $11.9 million.

 214.
Known as Pritchett Peaks Vineyard, the estate measures in at 120 acres, 110 of which compose “the most significant vineyard in Sonoma County’s Rockpile AVA (American Viticultural Area) to ever come to market,” listing agent Jim Martin of California Outdoor Properties told The Post. Martin added that the vineyard includes 45 acres of professionally planted vines that produce first-rate grapes “currently sold to some of California’s most prestigious wineries.”

 215.
(The vineyard — which has an electric gated perimeter — dates to 2008, when three brothers from a long line of local farmers broke ground on it.)

 216.

The estate is 120 acres in total, 110 acres of which are vineyard. California Outdoor Properties

 217.

The vineyard yields more than 100 tons of produce annually. California Outdoor Properties

 226.
In addition to its vineyard offerings, the property also features 40 miles of trails, a reservoir and hundreds of olive trees that yield about 45 gallons of oil annually. Also, the trademarked name Pritchett Peaks, which will transfer to the new owner upon closing, and additionally serves as a “sanctuary that backs into the 17,000-plus-acre Lake Sonoma Open Space Preserve,” said Martin.

 227.
The main house, known as Pritchett Peaks’ Manor, is white with green gables and measures in at 3,000 square feet spread over two stories.

 228.
It has four bedrooms, three bathrooms, a covered wraparound deck, reclaimed Georgia hardwood floors and multiple fireplaces.

 229.
There is custom millwork throughout, a rustic kitchen — and stunning, panoramic views of Lake Sonoma and the vineyard.

 261.
On Friday, nearly two weeks after his arrest, Wallen posted a message on the X social media platform.

 262.
“I didn’t feel right publicly checking in until I made amends with some folks. I’ve touched base with Nashville law enforcement, my family, and the good people at Chief’s. I’m not proud of my behavior, and I accept responsibility,” Wallen wrote. “I have the utmost respect for the officers working every day to keep us all safe.”

 263.
Wallen assured his fans that his One Night at a Time tour would continue as planned and “there will be no change.”

 264.
Wallen kicked off his One Night at a Time tour in Indianapolis on April 4. He is scheduled to perform across the country with Bailey Zimmerman, Nate Smith, and Lauren Watkins opening for him.

 265.
Chief’s is the bar where the chair-throwing incident happened and is owned by country music star Eric Church.

 266.
Wallen, 30, was arrested around 11 p.m. on April 7. He was charged with three felony counts of reckless endangerment and one count of disorderly conduct.

 267.
The “Wasted on You” singer allegedly threw a chair off the rooftop of Chief’s Bar. The chair reportedly crashed to the ground approximately three feet from where two Metro Nashville Police Department officers were standing on Broadway.

 268.
Wallen was booked for the arrest at 12:36 a.m. and released at 3:29 a.m. The singer’s bond was listed at $15,250.

 269.
Wallen is scheduled to make his first court appearance on May 3, which is the same day that he has a concert slated at Nissan Stadium in Nashville later that night.

 416.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu vowed to renew pressure against Hamas in Gaza during his speech ahead of Passover on Sunday.

 417.
Netanyahu addressed all of Israel in Hebrew as the country prepares to celebrate the Jewish holiday throughout this week.

 418.
He mourned the absence of the remaining hostages in Gaza and argued that the remaining Hamas forces can only survive if Israel and its allies fracture.

 419.
“On this night, 133 of our dear brothers and sisters are not around the Seder table, and they are still held hostage by Hamas in hellish conditions,” Netanyahu said. “We have already freed 124 of our hostages and we are committed to returning them all home – the living and the deceased alike.”

 420.
“Instead of withdrawing from its extreme positions, Hamas is counting on a rift among us. It draws encouragement from the pressure being directed at the Government of Israel. As a result of this, it has only hardened its conditions for the release of our hostages. It is hardening its heart and refusing to let our people go,” he said.

 421.
Netanyahu’s language referenced the Egyptian pharoah’s biblical refusal to free the enslaved Israelites, a story Jewish people all over the world will retell during holiday meals.

 427.
Netanyahu went on to praise the men and women serving in the Israel Defense Forces, detailing that operations in Gaza would soon ramp up.

 428.
“Therefore, we will strike it with additional painful blows – and this will happen soon,” he said. “In the coming days, we will increase the military and diplomatic pressure on Hamas because this is the only way to free our hostages and achieve our victory.”

 429.
“Citizens of Israel, on the eve of Passover, when the people of Israel went forth from slavery to freedom, let us remember our fallen heroes, and our wounded fighters, thanks to whose sacrifice, we are free people,” he added.

 430.
Netanyahu’s announcement came less than a day after he thanked U.S. lawmakers in the House of Representatives for passing a bill granting $26 billion in military aid for Israel on Saturday.

 431.
“The US Congress just overwhelmingly passed a much appreciated aid bill that demonstrates strong bipartisan support for Israel and defends Western civilization. Thank you friends, thank you America!” he wrote.

 491.
Howie Schwab, a former ESPN research department genius who rose to prominence with the hit trivia show “Stump the Schwab”, has passed away. He was just 63 years old, per the New York Post.

 492.
Following the revelation, ESPN college basketball color commentator Dick Vitale took to X, writing: “So sad to learn of the passing of my loyal dedicated buddy ⁦@howieschwab – he was recently at my home. Had various health issues but was feeling good when he visited. May he please RIP.”

 493.
Vitale shared in a separate post that he was informed of the news by Schwab’s wife, Suzie.

 494.
The report noted Schwab joined ESPN as a researcher in 1987, eventually getting an opportunity to be the coordinating producer of programs such as “SportsCenter” and “Outside the Lines.”

 495.
Between 2004 and 2006, Schwab hosted a popular show called “Stump the Schwab,” where he faced off against sports fans in a trivia contest. He had a 64-16 record when the program was eventually axed.

 496.
“I’m proud of that. Eighty percent is pretty darn good,” said in 2020.

 497.
“There were a couple of times when people were better. I’ll admit it. I had no problem with it. I remember one time I was disappointed because this guy was a cocky SOB who beat me and it bothered me a little. Bottom line is I’ve lived through so many things in sports and I’ve always been into sports, so (getting stumped) was fine.”

 498.
Founder of Matalon Media, Gerry Matalon, said Schwab was a tireless worker and always willing to help others.

 499.
“During his time at ESPN and after, NO ONE was more committed to excellence than Howie… whether as a co-worker or a friend,” Matalon shared with the Post.

 500.
“He was selfless and all about helping others be their best, no matter the circumstance. Having Howie in our lives was an absolute blessing and a privilege.”

 501.
“Howie played a vital role in my career — his incredible research was so valuable for decades,” Vitale said.

 502.
“Howie’s loyalty & dedication was so special. His passion & love for sports was off the charts. Most recently he was ecstatic with the UConn Huskies going back to back and was also thrilled to see Rick Pitino bring back his beloved St. John’s to prominence.”

 503.
After his time with ESPN, Schwab worked for Fox Sports and on “Sports Jeopardy!” as a consultant and writer, according to ESPN.

 656.
UFC legend Nate Diaz is facing a lawsuit stemming from a 2023 New Orleans incident during which he was accused of injuring a social media influencer by choking him unconscious.

 657.
After a boxing event, a scuffle ensued on Bourbon Street in New Orleans, where the incident took place. Diaz was seen on video standing in front of another man before the two engaged. Diaz then rendered the man unconscious with a standing guillotine choke.

 658.
The man at the other end of the altercation was reportedly TikTok creator Rodney Petersen, who is known for looking similar to YouTuber and boxer Logan Paul.

 659.
Diaz explained his side of the story on the “Full Send Podcast.”

 660.
“I walked out of this bar and the whole street was fighting I didn’t even know who was fighting … then fake Logan Paul runs up in my face like ‘whoa whoa whoa whoa back the f*** up!’ And I grabbed him by his hands because this fool’s gonna hit me,” Diaz recalled.

 661.
The fighter added that he feared other people watching the ordeal appeared to be ready to fight him so he “choked his ass.”

 662.
“I was defending myself,” he added.

 663.
Diaz was initially charged with second-degree battery, but the case was later dismissed by the district attorney, TMZ reported.

 664.
Petersen, an amateur fighter, has filed a lawsuit in Louisiana and is reportedly seeking damages for injuries allegedly sustained during the altercation.

 665.
The lawsuit claimed that Diaz, unprovoked, attacked him, choked him unconscious, and caused his head to hit the concrete resulting in injuries. The nature of the injuries reportedly weren’t specified.

 1061.

1062. President Joe Biden has long had an issue disentangling fact from fiction — and when dealing with facts, the 81-year-old Democrat often gets them wrong.
 1063.

 1064.

1065. This week, Biden claimed that his uncle, 2nd Lt. Ambrose J. Finnegan Jr., was eaten by cannibals. It is unclear whose story the geriatric president has appropriated on his uncle’s behalf, but the U.S. government’s official record does not support the story Biden has now elected to tell on at least two occasions.
 1066.

 1067.

1068. Speaking to reporters a Wilkes-Barre Scranton International Airport in Avoca, Pennsylvania, on Tuesday, Biden
1069. said: “Ambrose Finnegan — we called him ‘Uncle Bosie’ — he — he was shot down. He was Army Air Corps before there was an Air Force. He flew single-engine planes, reconnaissance flights over New Guinea. He had volunteered because someone couldn’t make it. He got shot down in an area where there were a lot of cannibals in New Guinea at the time.”
 1070.

 1071.

1072. “They never recovered his body,” added Biden. “But the government went back, when I went down there, and they checked and found some parts of the plane and the like.”

Whereas the president suggested it had been shot down, the government record indicates the plane “was forced to ditch in the ocean off the north coast” for “unknown reasons.”
 1085.

 1086.

1087. “Three men failed to emerge from the sinking wreck and were lost in the crash,” said the official record. “One crew member survived and was rescued by a passing barge. An aerial search the next day found no trace of the missing aircraft or the lost crew members.”
 1088.

 1089.

 1090. The Associated Press
1091. reported that the U.S. government’s record of missing service members “does not attribute Finnegan’s death to hostile action or indicate cannibals were any factor.”
 1092.

 1093.

1094. At a campaign event earlier in the day, Biden
1095. addressed workers at the United Steelworkers headquarters in Scranton, Pennsylvania. During the largely mumbled speech, Biden said his uncle “got shot down in New Guinea, and they never found the body because there used to be — there are a lot of cannibals, for real, in that part of New Guinea.”
 1096.

 1097.

1098. In both instances, the apparent purpose of the anecdote was to segue into a slight at former President Donald Trump.
 1099.

 1100.

1101. When speaking about his uncle at the airport, Biden said, “And what I was thinking about when I was standing [where Finnegan was memorialized] was when Trump refused to go up to the memorial for veterans in Paris, and he said they were a bunch of ‘suckers’ and ‘losers.'”
 1102.

 1103.

1104. This claim, too, is unsubstantiated.
 1105.

 1106.

 1107. Snopes
1108. indicated that there is no audio or video evidence that Trump ever said fallen soldiers were “suckers” and “losers.” There is also no “documentation, such as transcripts or presidential notes” to support the allegations that Jeffrey Goldberg of the Atlantic advanced in a September 2020 article.
 1109.

 1110.

1111. In his ostensibly baseless article, Goldberg — the Democratic booster whom the New York Times indicated in 2016 had “shaped The Atlantic’s recent editorial endorsing Hillary Clinton for President” —cited “people with firsthand knowledge of the discussion that day.”
 1112.

 1113.

1114. Trump said of the allegations, “I would be willing to swear on anything that I never said that about our fallen heroes. There is nobody that respects them more. No animal — nobody — what animal would say such a thing?”
 1115.

 1116.

1117. John Bolton, Trump’s former national security adviser, and former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, both with Trump at the time, indicated the claims were false.
 1118.

 1119.

1120. In effect, in crossing two yarns Tuesday in hopes of hurting his political rival, Biden demonstrated only his loose grasp on the truth, which appears to have slackened greatly in recent years.
 1121.

 1122.

 1123. In February, Biden
1124. discussed a recent chat he had with François Mitterrand. The trouble was not so much Biden’s suggestion that Mitterrand was a German, but that the former French president has been dead since 1996.
 1125.

 1126.

1127. The apparent ghost whisperer has also
1128. regaled supporters on multiple occasions with the tale of his impossible conversation with an Amtrak conductor named Angelo Negri, which apparently took place 20 years after the man’s retirement and a year after his death.
 1129.

 1130.

 1131. After
1132. eulogizing Indiana Rep. Jackie Walorski, who died in 2022, Biden called out to her during a speech in Washington, saying, “Representative Jackie — are you here? Where’s Jackie? — I think she was going to be here.”
 1133.

 1134.

 1135. Last year, Biden
1136. confused Ukraine and Iraq twice in 24 hours. Neither nation likely took it to heart, granted the apparent leader of the free world has also confused his own sister with his wife.
 1137.

 1138.

1139. Although it was treated as a simple case of brazen plagiarism at the time, Biden also
1140. mistook the life story of former U.K. Labour Party leader Neil Kinnock when running for president in 1988.

 1410.
Here’s who you can expect to see onstage with Ringo and the guys when you see them live this spring and summer.

 1411.
Colin Hay might look and sound familiar. In addition to playing with Ringo, he also fronted the popular group Men At Work.

 1412.
Edgar Winter is, yes, the Edgar Winter from the famous Edgar Winter Group. He’s most well known for singing and playing keyboards in his group.

 1413.
Steve Lukather did a little bit of everything when he played with Toto. Most notably, he served as the “Hold The Line” group’s singer and guitarist.

 1414.
Gregg Bissonette drums. He also gets around. You may have seen him and his kit onstage with Spinal Tap, The David Lee Roth Band or Electric Light Orchestra.

 1415.
Hamish Stuart was the bassist for the Average White Band. He also played alongside the Paul McCartney Band.

 1416.
Warren Ham has played multiple instruments for multiple iconic classic rock outfits including Kansas, Toto. He’s also jammed on tour with Donna Summer and Olivia Newton-John.
