71.
After being traded from the Clippers to the Hawks during the first year of his 3-year $47 million dollar deal; Terance Mann has decided to return to Florida State to serve as assistant general manager of Florida State’s Basketball program.

 72.
He will still maintain his status as veteran NBA player but it’s hard to believe that it will hurt FSU having someone in the building currently playing in the league advising its roster on what it takes to make it at that level.

 106.
“There are moments where we have to better.” Not that yesterday’s practice was a bad one but Mike Norvell sees moments where players need to elevate their game.

 144.
Thursday marked day 8 of FSU spring ball

Florida State coaches said before hitting the field for spring practices that the first part of camp would be about installation, familiarity and establishing healthy habits.

 145.
Thursday marked the eighth day of spring practice, meaning the Noles are on the back nine of camp — and with the second of three scrimmages looming this coming Saturday, head coach Mike Norvell “wants to see guys take another step.”

 146.
He didn’t see it on Thursday, however, saying after practice that he saw the team put together an up-and-down day with “lulls” throughout practice.

 147.
“I didn’t think today was a bad practice, I just think there are moments we have to be better...We had two drops that were big play opportunities, and we have to eliminate that.”

 148.
The head coach said Saturday’s scrimmage, the only open-media activity of the spring, will “be a little more game-like” with a continued emphasis on situational reps.

 149.
Amaree Williams, who is focusing on defensive end this spring, and running back Jaylin Lucas spoke after practice. The former discussed transitioning to the defensive side full-time and gaining weight.

 150.
“I’m coming out there, I’m making plays, I’m feeling good. I’ve put on weight, I’m upwards of 230 right now. There’s still space where I can put on more weight, but I don’t feel like it’s slowed me down.”

 151.
Williams also touched on his role at the Jack position in Tony White’s defense.

 152.
“They’re the best pass rushers. They’re guys that want to get to the ball and that complements my skill set with speed, definitely play by that, and I’m able to use power.”

 153.
The full interviews from Thursday’s post-practice availability can be found below.

 182.
Not only will a new coach be leading the Seminoles for the first time in 23 years but, in the day and age of the transfer portal, NIL, and yearly roster turnover, FSU is undergoing a massive roster overhaul.

 183.
“There will be a lot of guys that hit the portal, and that shouldn’t scare anyone. That’s by design, both for these players and myself,” Loucks told reporters during his second interview since becoming Florida State men’s basketball coach.

 184.
This article will be updated throughout the off-season, tracking player movements and who will be part of Loucks’ first team in Tallahassee.

 319.
Seminoles on 14-game win streak

Softball

 320.
No. 10 FSU softball made it seven wins in the last eight matchups vs. Florida on Wednesday, beating the Gators 4-0 in front of a sold-out crowd:

 321.

 322.
1,737 fans watched the Noles take down the Gators which is the eighth-largest regular season crowd at JoAnne Graf Field. The win was FSU’s highest ranked regular season win since defeating No. 2 Arizona on March 13, 2021. FSU has won seven out of the last eight meetings against the Gators

 323.
The Gators looked like they were going strike first in the top of the first inning as they loaded the bases with one out, but Ashtyn Danley delivered back-to-back strikeouts to end the inning and shift all the momentum to the home team.

 324.
FSU got going right away with a single from Isa Torres, and an error from the Gators put Torres on third and Jaysoni Beachum at second for Jahni Kerr. Kerr stepped up big and smashed a rise ball to right field on a 3-2 count to give the Noles the early 3-0 lead.

 325.
Danley continued to come up in the clutch as the Gators put runners in scoring position in the second, third and fourth innings, but Danley continued to record clutch outs to keep a Gator offense, which ranks in the top 10 in the country in every major category, off the board.

 326.
After the first two batters got on base in the top of the fifth, Annabelle Widra entered the circle for Danley. Widra immediately recorded a strikeout on three pitches. The Gators looked to have their first runs of the game on a shallow hit ball to right field, but Hallie Wacaser made a diving catch then threw the ball to Torres at second to complete the double play to end the inning.

 327.
In the sixth, Widra retired the side in order quickly, needing only eight pitches to sit down the Gators.

 328.
Kerr continued her hot streak with another rocket to right field to give the Noles a 4-0 lead. Wednesday night was Kerr’s first-ever multi-home run game in her four years with the Garnet and Gold and she also tied her career high with four RBI. In seven career games against Florida, Kerr is hitting .454 (10-for-22) with four home runs and nine RBI including the walk-off home run at JoAnne Graf Field in 2022.

 329.
Widra had no problem with the Gators in the seventh as she retired the side on seven pitches. Widra earned her first save of the season after retiring all eight batters she faced on just 23 pitches. Danley recorded the win against the ranked Gators to bring her record to 7-1 on the season. Danley pitched four scoreless innings while allowing just four hits while striking out three.

 330.
The Noles extended their winning streak to 14 games which is the second-longest streak in the country. FSU’s 34-5 start is the program’s best start since 2022 when the Noles started 37-4. In the 14-game win streak, FSU is outscoring its opponents 209-50 with the shutout against Florida. Wednesday’s shutout was FSU’s fifth shutout win ever against Florida and its first since 2019.

 331.
The Noles will continue their campaign at home against the Virginia Cavaliers this weekend with the series opener on Friday at 6 p.m. on ACCNX.

 397.
The Miami native led the nation in scoring, finishing the season averaging 25.2 points per game as the Seminoles led the nation with 86.9 points per game.

 398.
Latson became the fastest to score 2,000 points in Florida State basketball history and closed out the season as the nation’s leading scorer with 25.2 points per game. She set the FSU single-season scoring record, passing the mark that Sue Galkantas set in 1981-82 (710), finishing with 731 points.

 399.
A three-time All-ACC first team selection, Latson earned All-America second team honors by the Associated Press, becoming the first Seminole in history to capture first, second or third team honors.

 400.
Latson was also a finalist for the Ann Meyers Drysdale Award and is a finalist for WBCA All-America along with Makayla Timpson. She also captured second-team All-America by the U.S. Basketball Writers Association.

 401.
The student-athletes selected for the Wooden Award All-America Team are considered strong candidates for the 2025 John R. Wooden Award® Women’s Player of the Year. Deloitte tabulated all ballots and certified the results, ensuring strict adherence to established voting procedures.

 402.
The selection process is overseen by a National Advisory Board, which compiles a National Ballot featuring the top candidates who meet the award’s criteria, including a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.00. This ballot is distributed to a panel of voters composed of sportswriters and sportscasters from across the country. Deloitte collects and verifies these votes to maintain the integrity and accuracy of the final results.

 428.

 429.
Woad totaled four birdies on both her front and back nines and is just two strokes behind the overall leader, Megha Ganne, who carded 9 under par score of 63 – the lowest single-round score in ANWA history.

 430.
As she works to become the first two-time and first repeat winner in the history of the event, Woad settled in quickly and began playing stellar golf from the start of the first round.

 431.
Woad birdied three of her first four and four of her first eight holes. She was three strokes under par at the turn and played very clean golf on her back nine. She birdied holes No. 10, 13, 15, and 18 and finished with her masterpiece of 65.

 432.
Her score of 65 allowed her to card at least one score in the 60’s in each of her first three appearances in the ANW. She totaled scores of 77-69-72 for a 2-over-par score of 218 and a 13th-place finish in 2023. Woad earned scores of 68-71-69 for an 8-under-par total of 208 in winning the ANWA in 2024.

 433.
Florida State All-American Mirabel Ting is in a tie for 61st place as she shot a 4 over par 76. She played well on her front nine and was 1 under par when she made the turn.

 434.

 435.
Ting has jumped to the No. 2 spot in the World Amateur Golf Rankings giving the Florida State women’s golf team the No. 1 (Woad) and No. 2 golfers:

 436.

 437.
Woad has been ranked No. 1 in the WAGR for 39 of the last 41 weeks since first earning the spot on June 12, 2024. She held the position for five consecutive weeks before briefly losing the top ranking only to ascend back to the No. 1 spot on July 31, 2024, where she has remained in the top ranking in the world.

 438.
As she begins play in the ANWA for the second time in her career, Ting has been a constant in the WAGR top 10 since September 25, 2024, when she entered the WAGR top 10 at No. 8. She moved to No. 6 (October 30, 2024), earned the No. 5 position (November 13, 2024), was bumped up to No. 4 (December 18, 2024), reached the No. 3 spot earlier this year (February 5, 2025), and now sits at No. 2 for the first time in her career (April 2, 2025).

 441.

 442.
FSU holds a 27-8 record against NC State dating back to 1992. The Seminoles defeated the Wolfpack 5-2 last spring in Raleigh, North Carolina.

 443.
Florida State is currently on a two-match win streak against Wake Forest, most recently defeating the Demon Deacons 5-2 last season.

 444.
In the latest ITA poll, the Noles saw significant gains in the doubles rankings. Maria Juliana Parra Romero and Eva Shaw jumped from No. 89 to No. 42, and Millie Bissett and Laura Putz moved from unranked to No. 69.

 445.
Shaw and Parra Romero are 12-1 overall this season and hold a 5-1 record in ACC play. The duo most recently competed against the No. 12-ranked pair from California that was unfinished with a 5-4 score before the doubles point was clinched. Earlier this season, Shaw and Parra Romero earned a 12-match doubles winning streak, tied for third all-time in FSU history. Parra Romero also tied the school record for consecutive doubles matches won with 14.

 446.
Bissett and Putz hold a 6-2 record this season and are currently 1-1 in ACC play.

 467.
Ashtyn Danley got the midweek start against a potent Gator offense. To begin the game, Danley found herself struggling with the zone, as she issued two walks and a single to load the bases. Two big strikeouts helped Danley get out of the inning without any damage.

With two on, Jahni Kerr, who found herself moving up in the lineup, jumped on Rothrock with a 3-run homerun.

 483.
Both the Seminoles and Gators couldn’t get much going as the game went into the 5th inning. For Florida, they had two on by a single and a walk. Threatening to crack into the FSU lead, Annabelle Widra relieved Danley in the circle. Widra got a strikeout for the first out, and a big double play by Hallie Wacaser in right field ended the inning.
