In this year’s NPSL regular season, they finished 4th in the Northern Atlantic Conference. As with everyone else in the conference, they lost to Cosmos B. New York stunned The Champions 5-0 in their first match, but the Express find themselves in a position to extract revenge tonight.&lt;/p&gt;
  183. &lt;p id="lfLM5O"&gt;Even though the Cosmos may have won big in the regular season, they have to stay vigilant in the playoffs. The win keeps Cosmos B undefeated and untied in NSPL competition with a seven game winning streak.  The Cosmos have also picked up Defender Ryan Adeleye, who will be available for selection tomorrow. &lt;/p&gt;

Featured on the Cosmos’ &lt;a href="http://www.nycosmos.com/news/2018/06/15/garrett-halfhill-growing-in-strides-with-cosmos-b"&gt;official site &lt;/a&gt;this week,  Halfhill talks about taking some time off from the game, before coming back and playing for FC Cincinnati and then the New York Cosmos. He discusses the pride defenders have in achieving a shutout:&lt;/p&gt;

It’s been frustrating at times because the last couple of weeks we have switched off for a few minutes in a game and it has hurt us. As a defender, you leave a game with a clean sheet, the job is done. You’re a unit as a back four. The goalscorers tend to get a lot of publicity and defenders are typically consistent and just do their jobs.   ”I think that’s why defenders love defending. When you do have those games, where you avoid those minor mistakes and you end up with a clean sheet or leave the game, it’s extremely satisfying. It’s the same type of feeling as scoring a goal. You know you did your job that day. You don’t need the recognition for it. You just feel good as a unit.”&lt;/q&gt;&lt;/aside&gt;&lt;/div&gt;
