This is your last opportunity to recognise the outstanding women who are redefining what’s possible across transport, mining, engineering, logistics, manufacturing, and beyond.

Why nominate?
When we celebrate women breaking new ground, we elevate their stories and encourage others to follow in their footsteps.

A colleague whose innovation transformed a project

A mentor whose leadership changed lives

A rising star already making waves early in her career

Now’s your chance to say: “You’ve made a difference”.

With award categories spanning energy, safety, engineering, advocacy, and more, there’s a place to recognise every kind of impact. At the top stands Woman of the Year – honouring the very best of the best.

This year, prominent sponsors of the event include Atlas Copco Australia – sponsoring Rising Star of the Year, PACCAR Australia – sponsoring Safety Advocacy Award, Kenter Logistics – sponsoring Excellence in Transport award, and Fulton Hogan – sponsoring Woman of the Year award.

Several prestigious awards are still available for sponsorship, including Business Development Success of the Year, Mentor of the Year, Industry Advocacy Award, and Excellence in Manufacturing, Engineering, Mining, Construction, and Energy awards.

The benefits of supporting the Women in Industry Awards are immense. Sponsors gain high visibility, enhance their reputation as being supportive of women in the workplace, and network with influential leaders across industries.

Sponsorship opportunities close May 30, with only one sponsor available per award.

Tickets are also officially on sale for the awards evening, set to take place on 19 June 2025 at the Carousel, Melbourne.

Image: Prime Creative Media

The Women in Industry Awards are a platform to recognise and celebrate the achievements of women across a diverse range of industrial sectors.

For more than a decade, the awards have shone a spotlight on the invaluable contributions of women who are not only excelling in their fields but are also actively driving change, breaking down barriers, and inspiring the next generation of female leaders.

Organised by Prime Creative Media, the awards encompass industries such as waste management, mining, transport, manufacturing, engineering, logistics, bulk handling, rail, construction, infrastructure, and energy.

They demonstrate that these industries offer viable and rewarding career paths for women, while the stories and achievements of the award winners serve as powerful inspiration and role models for young women considering careers in industrial sectors.

Looking back at previous years, the awards have highlighted the diverse talents and significant impact of women across various sectors.

The 2024 Woman of the Year was Derelle Mitchell from Health Focus Manufacturing (HFM), who was also recognised for Excellence in Manufacturing.

Derelle’s drive to rekindle her career after raising her children led her to seize an opportunity to acquire the assets of a cosmetic manufacturing company in 2011, marking the humble beginning of HFM.

Starting with a small team in a “big green shed”, HFM has grown over the past decade to accommodate more than 40 staff members with over 200 years of combined experience.

“I started this business from very humble beginnings,” she said when accepting the Woman of the Year award. “The most enjoyable thing I get from my job is getting people jobs, and I love what I do.

“It takes a lot of blood, sweat, tears, and sacrifices for work every day. I wake up every day at 4 o’clock in the morning, and I love it, especially the people I work with. I wouldn’t be sitting here right now if it wasn’t for them.”

Other notable winners in 2024 included Kathleen Kelly (McConnell Dowell) for Safety Advocacy, Kate Leone (UGL) for Rising Star, and Allyson Woodford (APA Group) for Excellence in Engineering.

The 2025 nominations close May 9, so be sure to nominate someone for any of the below award categories:

Business Development Success of the Year

Excellence in Construction

Excellence in Engineering

Excellence in Energy

Excellence in Manufacturing

Excellence in Mining

Excellence in Transport (Proudly sponsored by Kenter)

Industry Advocacy Award:

Mentor of the Year:

Rising Star of the Year (Proudly sponsored by Atlas Copco)

Safety Advocacy Award (Proudly sponsored by Paccar Australia)

Woman of the Year (Proudly sponsored by Fulton Hogan)

Each year, the Women in Industry Awards culminate in a gala dinner, bringing together industry leaders, nominees, and supporters to celebrate the achievements of the finalists and winners.

The 2025 awards night will be held in Melbourne on 19 June 2025. Help celebrate with us by purchasing a ticket here.

The Women in Industry Awards is back again in 2024, with the event to be hosted in Sydney following this year’s record-breaking ceremony.

The 2023 event was memorable for countless reasons. One of them being Woman of the Year and Safety Advocacy awards recipient Giselle Phillips.

Sitting down with The Australian Pipeliner to reflect on the awards, Phillips said it was “thrilling – a different city, with a different vibe and just being a finalist was exciting”.

“I met so many wonderful women and male allies across a variety of industries,” she said.

Phillips said she will be in attendance at next year’s awards, taking place on Thursday, June 20, and was looking forward to it.

“By celebrating and encouraging, Women in Industry benefits not only women themselves but also their organisations, the economy, and society at large. It is a fundamental step towards building a more equitable and prosperous world,” she said.

“I want to be able to meet, connect and celebrate with the many women that are championing and actively contributing to their industry.”

For Phillips, events like these are vital for recognising the place of women in traditionally male-dominated fields “because they create a supportive, empowering, and inclusive environment that recognises, acknowledges and celebrates women’s contributions”.

“While also pushing for positive changes in industries and society as a whole,” she said.

Also playing an important role in the success of the event, is the support of The Women in Industry’s valued sponsors, such as Fulton Hogan, who just renewed its partnership for 2024.

Fulton Executive General Manager Sarah Marshall said the company was thrilled to be supporting such an impactful event.

“I’m so thrilled that we’ve been able to renew our sponsorship, it demonstrates our commitment to improving gender diversity in not just our own business but within the industry as a whole,” she said.

“We believe that we’re setting the standard for other construction and infrastructure companies to follow suit.”

As the most coveted award on the roster, Fulton Hogan was thrilled when the company was given the opportunity to sponsor the Women of the Year award.

“Women continue to be underrepresented in our industry and we’re proud to shine a light on some of the incredible work that is happening across a range of industries,” Marshall said.

According to her, it’s crucial to celebrate the achievements of those within the industry, and especially those who are pushing boundaries and driving change in predominantly male industries.

“I’m a firm believer in the fact that you can’t be what you can’t see.”

A statement seconded by Fulton Hogan Infrastructure Services National Communications and Stakeholder Manager Nina McHardy.

“In predominantly male industries it’s important to lift females up – to celebrate their respective success but also to demonstrate to those that are following in their footsteps that whilst females are in the minority, they are still so important and deserve to be celebrated,” she said.

“We’re looking forward to seeing the incredible nominations as well as hopefully celebrating the talent that exists within our business.”

McHardy said this event is a way to give back to women and the businesses who champion them.

“It is also great to celebrate the businesses that support them – after all we all want to work for an employer who appreciates diversity and is taking steps to improve it within their business awards such as this are a great way to showcase supportive businesses as well as the great talent that sits within them.”

Four sponsors have been confirmed for the 2024 awards including Atlas Copco, COG Advertising, Fulton Hogan, Komatsu, PACCAR Australia, SEW EURODRIVE and Kenter.

With 11 categories available for sponsorship, there are numerous benefits to securing sponsorships.

These include promoting corporate values as an equal opportunity employer; with progressive policies encouraging women in management as well as networking among peers and influencers in mining, manufacturing, engineering, and commercial road transport industries.
