  52. <p><a href="https://soyacincau.com/tag/youtube">YouTube</a> has announced several major upgrades for <a href="https://soyacincau.com/tag/youtube-shorts">Shorts</a> which include the ability to upload 3x longer videos. If you find the current 60-second limit for YouTube Shorts too restrictive, YouTube is increasing the maximum video duration limit to <strong>3 minutes</strong> effective <strong>15th October 2024</strong>. </p>
  53. <h2 class="wp-block-heading">YouTube Shorts support longer videos of up to 3 minutes</h2>
  54. <p>Increasing the length of YouTube Shorts video uploads was a top requested feature by creators. According to YouTube Product Lead, Todd Sherman, they have heard from creators that they need more space in shorts to tell their story so they will now enable a longer duration of up to 180 seconds. </p>

  61. <p>The change to increase the upload limit to 180 seconds will apply to videos uploaded from 15th October 2024. Previous and existing videos that are square or taller in aspect ratio uploaded before 15th October 2024 are not affected. </p>
  62. <p>YouTube added that they are working on improving recommendations for longer Shorts in the coming months. </p>
  63. <p>As a comparison, <a href="http://www.soyacincau.com/tag/meta">Meta</a> allows <a href="http://www.soyacincau.com/tag/facebook">Facebook</a> and <a href="http://www.soyacincau.com/tag/instagram">Instagram</a> Reels up to 90 seconds. Meanwhile, <a href="https://soyacincau.com/tag/tiktok">TikTok</a> had increased the duration limit of video uploads from 3 minutes <a href="https://soyacincau.com/2022/03/01/tiktok-is-expanding-its-max-video-length-to-10-minutes-will-this-ruin-the-apps-appeal/">to 10 minutes</a> in 2022.</p>
  64. <h2 class="wp-block-heading">More enhancements coming to YouTube Shorts</h2>

  66. <p>Besides allowing 3-minute videos on Shorts, YouTube wants to make short-form video creation easier by allowing users to recreate videos easily with templates. Users can jump on the current trending videos and create remixes instantly. </p>
  67. <p>To keep up with the latest trends in your country, YouTube is also introducing a Shorts trends page on mobile. Users can also preview comments from the Shorts feed without clicking on the comments feed for each video. </p>
  68. <p>If you prefer to watch more long-form landscape format videos, YouTube will also introduce the “Show fewer Shorts” option to customise your video feed experience. The new option will be shown from the “three-dot menu” on the upper right of any Shorts grid on your home feed. </p>
  69. <p>In case you missed it, YouTube has announced a <a href="https://soyacincau.com/2024/09/21/youtube-premium-price-increase-2024-individual-family-student-price-plan/">price hike for its Premium subscription service in Malaysia</a>. YouTube Premium Individual will cost RM20.90/month (up from RM17.90/month) and YouTube Premium Family will cost RM41.90/month (up from RM33.90/month). Meanwhile, YouTube Premium for Students will cost RM12.90/month (up from RM10.90/month). </p>

  118. <p>Earlier last month (September 2024), <a href="https://soyacincau.com/tag/google/">Google</a> released <a href="https://soyacincau.com/tag/android-15/">Android 15</a> into the Android Open Source Project, with the operating system expected to reach <a href="https://soyacincau.com/tag/google-pixel/">Pixel smartphones</a> on October 15, 2024. Not long after that, <a href="https://soyacincau.com/tag/samsung/">Samsung</a> gave the public a sneak peek of its upcoming One UI 7, which will be based on Android 15, at its 2024 Developer Conference.</p>
  119. <h2 class="wp-block-heading">When is Samsung’s One UI 7 coming?</h2>

  121. <p>Before fans of Samsung get too excited, however, One UI 7 will only be made publicly available together with Samsung’s next Galaxy S devices, which is most probably going to be the <a href="https://soyacincau.com/tag/samsung-galaxy-s25/">S25 series</a>. This is set to only happen sometime early next year, so fans will have to be a little bit more patient.</p>
  122. <p>This is more delay than how long Samsung usually took to release its previous One UI versions. Before the end of this year, Samsung will release the beta preview of One UI 7 for developers. You can of course still choose to install the developer beta to take a sneak peek of One UI 7’s new features. </p>

  125. <p>As mentioned above, the announcement made at SDC24 is merely a sneak peek of One UI 7 and not a full release. Still, the Korean tech giant did mention that its upcoming UI will feature a full redesign, with a focus on simple, impactful, and emotive design, whatever that means.</p>
  126. <p>One UI 7 is also said to rock a redesigned home screen grid. Samsung will also be offering its Good Lock app for users to customise their home screens on One UI 7. However, this makes us wonder if this will mean that One UI 7 will feature fewer customisation options for its home screen by default as compared to previous versions of Samsung’s smartphone UI. For this, we will have to wait and see.</p>
  127. <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Will my Galaxy device receive One UI 7?</h2>
  128. <p>Thus far, Samsung has yet to release its final list of Samsung Galaxy models that will be getting One UI 7, but we presume it will include the latest Samsung flagships along with some Galaxy A models.</p>

  176. <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Sony LinkBuds Fit, LinkBuds Open, and LinkBuds Speaker Malaysia pricing and availability</h2>

  178. <p>At the moment, three of the new LinkBuds products have yet to be made available to the Malaysian market, with pre-orders for the products to start from the <strong>1st of November 2024</strong>. However, pricing details for the LinkBuds Fit and LinkBuds Open have already been published on Sony Malaysia’s website, being listed at <strong>RM999</strong> each.</p>
  179. <p>To be made available starting <strong>January next year (2025)</strong>, pricing details for the Sony LinkBuds Speaker are not available for the Malaysian market just yet. For context, it is sold in the USA at USD180 (approx. RM760).</p>

  378. <p data-renderer-start-pos="1"><em>Mobile Suit Gundam: Silver Phantom</em> is a new sort of VR film hybrid for Quest, mashing up a movie’s worth of real-time rendered narrative with sprinkles of first-person gameplay, billing itself an ‘interactive anime’. On paper, it sounds really cool, offering you essentially two ways to step into your favorite anime universe and experience it in all of its Shonen glory. In practice though, it’s a total guessing game of when you can get to have fun, and when you’re expected to just sit back and live out your new life as a camera–person-chimera.</p>
  379. <p data-renderer-start-pos="1"><em>Silver Phantom, </em>which enlists you as the protagonist in the beloved mecha-filled world, will no doubt tickle the fancy of hardcore Gundam fans by virtue of the fact that, well, <em>it’s Gundam, </em>however most others will probably be left scratching their heads. Me included.</p>

The film’s narrative richness and visual flash envelopes you entirely (immersion), but is substantively hindered by relying too heavily on replicating traditional shot composition in VR, which is a shame, because everything looks <em>awesome, </em>from characters expressions to the full-blown mecha action happening in space.</p>
  385. <p data-renderer-start-pos="1">While its smattering of first-person game mechanics are meant to make you feel like you’re really there and have an effect on the environment (embodiment), those moments are doled out at seemingly random intervals, leaving you to constantly question <em>why</em> you’re being unceremoniously dropped back into a first-person POV to engage in one-off jobbies—essentially feeling like the little brother who’s only allowed to play with an unplugged controller all while the <em>real </em>action goes on around you, never knowing when your older brother will concede and let you press a few token buttons<em>.</em></p>

  389. <p data-renderer-start-pos="1">I admire the trio of developers (Bandai Namco Filmworks, Atlas V, Albyon) for taking the risk on developing the two-hour narrative, although it just doesn’t feel like <em>the future </em>of cinematic VR to me, but rather one that has replicated the same mistakes early 360 filmmakers have made ever since enterprise-level VR cameras saw their boom in the mid-2010s.</p>

If neither are your first language, it will be a little tough to get used to.</p>

  395. <p data-renderer-start-pos="1">When the final credits roll, Silver Phantom’s replay value comes in the form of an optional mixed reality wave shooter, which feels stylistically similar to the ‘Xortex 26XX’ mini-game in Valve’s <em>The Lab (2016)</em>. Going pew-pew-pew with toy-sized Gundams in your own living room will never <em>not</em> make me feel like a kid again, one who was left more than a little scorned by not getting to have more fun during the main event.</p>
  396. <p data-renderer-start-pos="1">There’s also a cool MR gallery that lets you get up close and personal with a handful of mechas—something fans should definitely appreciate.</p>
  397. <p data-renderer-start-pos="1">In the end, you can pay $16 for a substantially worse movie-going experiences, so take it for what you will. It’s a flashy, sometimes fun experience that Gundam fans will probably gel with, which is great. But just not for me.</p>

After turning on a DC charging location at <a href="https://soyacincau.com/2024/09/27/tnb-electron-petron-kg-gemuroh-trg-free-charging-xrs/">Petron Kg Gemuroh in Terengganu</a>, the next upcoming location is at Petron Selising in Kelantan. </p>
  437. <p>As shared on Facebook, their new DC Charger at <a href="https://www.plugshare.com/location/641753">Petron Selising</a> will be operational from Saturday, 5th October 2024 and they are offering two days (5th and 6th October) of free EV charging. </p>

  440. <p>So far there are no pricing and power output details as the EV Charging location is still not live on the Go To-U app at the time of writing. Based on photos shared on the site, TNB Electron has deployed an Autel MaxiCharger DC with two CCS2 nozzles that are capable of pushing up to 200kW. </p>

  442. <p>The same DC charger was deployed in <a href="https://soyacincau.com/2024/03/02/tnb-electron-200kw-juru-setia-sentral-ev-dc-charger/">Juru, Penang</a> with a maximum output of 200kW and it is priced at <strong>RM1.50 per kWh</strong>. For the Selising site, the actual power output depends on the available power capacity in the area. For there are limitations, the charger’s power output could be reduced similar to the Kg Gemuroh location where the 47kW DC Charger is configured for only 34kW. </p>
  443. <p>As announced last year, TNB Electron has <a href="https://soyacincau.com/2023/10/04/tnb-electron-to-deploy-over-60-ev-chargers-until-2025-here-are-the-upcoming-locations/">planned to roll out</a> 37 DC Chargers and 29 AC charge points in 2024 and 2025. This includes 6 DC chargers in Kelantan, 3 in Terengganu, 3 in Pahang, 3 in Kedah, 3 in Perak, 2 in Penang and 2 in Johor. Some of their <a href="https://soyacincau.com/2024/07/22/tnb-electron-aeon-mall-taiping-kinta-manjung-kota-bharu/">recent deployments</a> include Aeon Taiping, Aeon Seri Manjung, Aeon Kinta City and Aeon Kota Bahru. </p>
  444. <p>EV Connection (JomCharge) and Gentari are also planning to add <a href="https://soyacincau.com/2024/10/02/evc-gentari-jomcharge-east-coast-dc-charger-bess-end-2024/">three Battery Energy Storage systems (BESS)-assisted DC chargers</a> in the East Coast by the end of this year. It was mentioned previously that they were looking at deploying these DC chargers at Ajil and Perasing R&amp;Rs along the LPT highway in Terengganu. </p>

  492. <p>After launching three electric vehicle (<a href="https://soyacincau.com/tag/ev">EV</a>) models locally, <a href="https://soyacincau.com/tag/byd">BYD</a> has teased a brand new model for the Malaysian market. According to a teaser post on Facebook, the upcoming BYD model is said to be “built for family adventures, driven by comfort and safety”. </p>
  493. <p>From the looks of it, BYD Malaysia will be introducing a 3-row MPV and it appears to be the BYD M6. This fully electric MPV has been launched in <a href="https://www.byd.com/id/car/m6" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Indonesia</a> and it’s also coming soon to <a href="https://bydcars.sg/byd-m6" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Singapore</a>. </p>
  494. <h2 class="wp-block-heading">BYD M6 fully-electric MPV coming to Malaysia?</h2>

  496. <p>The BYD M6 appears to be an updated version of their older <a href="https://soyacincau.com/2022/11/02/byd-coming-to-malaysia-e6-atto-3-rm150k/">BYD e6</a>. Based on the global spec sheet, the BYD M6 has a single motor powering the front wheel that pushes 150kW (201hp) and 310Nm of torque, which is similar to the <a href="https://soyacincau.com/tag/byd-atto-3">BYD Atto 3</a> and the <a href="https://soyacincau.com/tag/byd-dolphin">BYD Dolphin</a> ER. </p>
  497. <p>This MPV can get from 0-100km/h in 8.6 seconds and it is equipped with a 71.8kWh battery with a NEDC-rated 530km of range on a single charge. According to the Indonesian brochure, it can support DC charging up to 115kW for the higher-spec version and 89kW for the lower-spec model. For AC charging, it appears to retain a single-phase 7kW onboard charger like its other models in our market.</p>
  498. <p>There’s also a lower-spec Stadnard variant with a less powerful 120kW (160hp) motor and a smaller 55.4kWh battery with a shorter NEDC-rated range of 420km. </p>

This makes it slightly smaller than the Toyota Innova Zenix (Length: 4760mm, Weight: 1850mm, Height: 1796mm, Wheelbase: 2850mm). The M6 is offered in either a 6-seater (2+2+2) or a 7-seater (2+3+2) version. </p>

  502. <p>On the inside, it looks quite similar to the old BYD e6, but it has received several notable upgrades including a new steering wheel design and driver selector. It still features a familiar 12.8″ rotating screen on the dashboard with 360-degree camera and support for Apple CarPlay. </p>
  503. <p>Safety equipment has also been upgraded with a total of 6 airbags along with BYD’s comprehensive suite of advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) which include adaptive and intelligent cruise control, automatic emergency braking, door open warning and predictive collision warning. </p>
  504. <p>Other amenities include a wireless phone charger, ventilated and powered front seats, panoramic glass room and support for Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) which turns the fully electric MPV into a powerbank to power your domestic home appliances. </p>

  507. <p>So far there are no pricing details yet but we reckon that the BYD M6 could be priced below RM150,000 when it launches in Malaysia. In Indonesia, the base 7-seater version is <a href="https://www.byd.com/id/pricelist" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">priced</a> at IDR 379,000,000 (about RM103,409), while the range-topping 6-seater version is priced at IDR 429,000,000 (about RM117,500). </p>
  508. <p>Besides the BYD M6, there are indications that another BYD EV is coming to our shores and it is speculated to be the BYD Sealion 07. </p>
  509. <p>According to the <a href="https://soyacincau.com/2024/09/30/malaysia-jpj-ev-registration-august-2024/">latest Road Transport Department (JPJ) data</a>, BYD is currently the leading EV brand in Malaysia with a total of 5,603 EVs registered between January to August 2024, equivalent to 39% market share. The BYD Seal is the most popular model with 2,267 units registered in Malaysia this year so far, followed by BYD Atto 3 with 2,217 units and BYD Dolphin with 1,119 units. </p>
