<a href="https://soyacincau.com/tag/proton/">Proton</a> has officially taken the drape off the All-New Proton X50 by unveiling the first set of official images alongside details behind some of the car’s new features. The national automaker calls the refreshed <a href="https://soyacincau.com/tag/proton-x50/">B-segment SUV</a> as its “first major model launch of 2025”.
<h2 class="wp-block-heading">All-new Proton X50 exterior & interior design</h2>

The SUV has finally received its first massive update almost 5 years after <a href="https://soyacincau.com/2020/10/27/proton-x50-malaysia-official-price-standard-executive-premium-flagship-revealed/">the original Proton X50 was introduced in Malaysia</a> with more than 134,000 units have been sold since then. Based on the Geely Binyue L, the design of 2026 Proton X50’s front and rear bumpers as well as front grille, spoiler, headlamps, taillights and wheels have been updated.
The interior of the all-new X50 has also receive major refresh but interestingly enough, it is completely different from the Binyue L. Instead, the design language seems closer to Proton e.MAS 7 especially with the new dashboard and centre console.

Just like the EV, the 2026 X50 has a fully digital instrument cluster and infotainment display although they are slightly smaller at 8.88-inch and 14.6-inch respectively. Not only that, the newly refresh X50 also has a drive column shifter similar to e.MAS 7.
The all-new X50 also features a split-design tray with the right side being a smartphone wireless charging pad. Depending on the variants, there is also a 72-colour rhythmic ambient light throughout the interior of the SUV.

Unlike its predecessor which has 4 variants, the 2026 X50 comes only in three variants including Executive, Premium, and Flagship. Colour-wise, Proton has added a new option called Teal Bayou Green alongside the 4 existing colours such as Snow White, Passion Red, Jet Grey, and Armour Silver.
<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Tech upgrades for the all-new Proton X50</h2>

As noted earlier, the 2026 X50 now features a massive 14.6-inch infotainment display and yes, the all-new X50 supports Android Auto as well as Apple CarPlay. In addition to that, the voice recognition system in the SUV now supports Bahasa Malaysia too.
The all-new X50 continues to feature Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) although it now also has Rear Side Radar System. This has enabled new features for the system such as Rear Collision Warning, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, and Door Opening Warning.

Aside from that, the Auto Park Assist has also been fully redesigned to make it easier and more intuitive to use. At the same time, the 360-degree camera system has also been upgraded to include 180-degree undercarriage transparent view.
<h2 class="wp-block-heading">New engine for the refreshed SUV</h2>

Another major upgrade that the all-new X50 brings to the table is a new engine. Similar to Binyue L, the 2026 X50 is powered by the i-GT 1.5TD turbocharged 4-cylinder engine. Paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission, this turbocharged engine can deliver a maximum output of 178hp (133kW) alongside 290Nm of torque.
As a comparison, the existing X50 Flagship has a 174hp (130kW) 1.5TGDi 3-cylinder engine with 255Nm of torque. On the other hand, the lower-end X50 variants come with 1.5T 3-cylinder engine that has 148hp and maximum torque of 226Nm.
Proton claimed that the new engine allows the 2026 X50 to deliver 0-100km/h timing of 7.6 seconds which is 0.3 seconds faster than its predecessor. Furthermore, there is also 4.7% improvement in fuel efficiency according to the national carmaker.

At the moment, Proton is still keeping the pricing for the all-new X50 a secret. The same goes for its launch date too although we were told that members of the public will be able to have a closer look at the 2026 X50 and place their bookings during the upcoming on-ground events for the newly refreshed SUV.

Independent tech analyst Ming-Chi Kuo reports that Apple’s XR and smart glasses roadmap will feature multiple XR devices, including a spec-bumped Vision Pro slated to release later this year. At the far end of the spectrum, Kuo also says Apple is making AR glasses, reportedly coming in 2028.
Kuo is a long-time tech analyst and respected figure in Apple product leaks. In a <a href="https://mingchikuo.craft.me/b4ueOLIjxf2wPG" target="_blank" rel="noopener">new blogpost</a>, Kuo has laid out a timeline for a number of Apple XR releases, ostensibly based on various supply chain leaks.
Kuo reports that a new Vision Pro featuring the company’s M5 chip is scheduled for mass production in Q3 2025, with 150,000–200,000 units expected to ship. This next Vision Pro is reportedly upgrading the chip from M2 to M5, but will otherwise retain the original specs.
Kuo maintains the iterative approach is based on Vision Pro’s current position as a niche product, as the company hopes to use the next version to maintain market presence, reduce component stock, and further refine XR applications.

Next, Kuo says Apple is preparing a much lighter headset, reportedly called ‘Vision Air’, set to release in Q3 2027. Vision Air is said to be dramatically lighter at over 40% less than the current Vision Pro, which weighs in at 21.2–22.9 ounces (600–650 g), excluding the battery.
Kuo maintains Vision Air will include plastic lenses, magnesium alloys, fewer sensors, a top-tier iPhone chip, and be priced significantly lower to appeal to broader users.
The true next-gen Vision device is said to be ‘Vision Pro 2’ though, which Kuo says could arrive in 2H 2028, replete with a full redesign, Mac-grade chip, reduced weight, and a lower price, signaling Apple’s shift to move away from niche XR products and move toward mainstream adoption.
Meanwhile, Kuo says Apple is investing heavily in smart glasses.
A Ray-Ban-like, audio-first wearable is expected to arrive in Q2 2027, Kuo says, noting that the company is hoping to manufacture 3–5 million units—ostensibly a significant push towards making its first smart glasses a mainstream success.

Like Ray-Ban Meta, and the recently unveiled <a href="https://www.roadtovr.com/meta-reveals-oakley-smart-glasses-promising-better-video-capture-longer-battery-life-at-400/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Oakley Meta HSTN</a>, Apple’s smart glasses are said to have no display, rather offering audio playback, photo and video capture, an AI assistant, and both gesture and voice controls.
Arguably the biggest claim among Kuo’s timeline is the mention of Apple XR Glasses, which the analyst maintains will include a color display (LCoS + waveguide) and AI features, making it the first true AR glasses from the company. Kuo says Apple is targeting release in 2H 2028, with a lighter variant being developed in parallel.
This follows reports of Apple potentially scraping a more casual XR glasses-type viewer, which would be tethered to Apple devices and use birdbath optics. The device was originally planned for release in Q2 2026, but Kuo maintains it was paused in late 2024 due to insufficient differentiation, especially around weight.
Granted, Apple is one of the most opaque black boxes in tech for a reason. The company historically announces products on stage, which typically also comes with a price and release date attached. While Kuo has a fairly reliable track record of reporting insider knowledge of Vision Pro, we’re taking this data dump with an equally-sized grain of salt.

At its Southeast Asia Tech Seminar in Bangkok, <a href="https://soyacincau.com/tag/samsung/">Samsung</a> offered a closer look at what it believes the future of the smart home should look like. The company unveiled a wave of new appliances powered by <a href="https://soyacincau.com/tag/smartthings/">SmartThings</a> and framed by a unified vision built around <a href="https://soyacincau.com/tag/ai/">AI</a>, automation, energy efficiency, and connectivity.

But behind the demo scripts and AI buzzwords, not all the features were created equal. While some were immediately practical, others felt like backend logic dressed in marketing speak. And a few innovations, while technically interesting, left us wondering how much they would matter in daily use.

Samsung’s new <a href="https://soyacincau.com/tag/samsung-bespoke-fridge/">Bespoke fridges</a> are available in two models, a 21.5-inch <a href="https://soyacincau.com/tag/samsung-bespoke-jet-bot-combo-steam/">Family Hub</a> edition and a 9-inch screen version. Both are equipped with the new Auto Open Door feature, and it’s surprisingly useful.

The sensor strip lights up constantly and can detect light taps from your fingers, elbow, or wrist. It’s a smart workaround to the common annoyance of trying to open a suction-tight fridge door while carrying groceries or, worse, a full bowl of soup.

Samsung also demoed voice activation via Bixby, where you can say “Hi Bixby, open fridge,” and it will open the left, right or both doors on command. Yes, using the sensor strips is faster, but for those moments when carrying heavy glassware and you don’t want to risk it, it comes in handy.

There are two levels of door opening: Wide Open (around 80 degrees) and Semi Open, both adjustable via SmartThings. Wide Open is self-explanatory, while Semi Open is where the door just pops out, allowing you to swing the door open more easily than having to fight the suction force. According to Samsung, the feature is backed by over 20 patents and uses two separate motors, each responsible for controlling the door opening force and angle.

Both models include AI Energy Mode, which uses predictive machine learning models to optimise compressor and defrost cycles. Unlike older systems that ramp up cooling after every door opening, this model uses real-world data like temperature sensors, humidity, and user behaviour to predict how the fridge will respond and reduce energy use accordingly. For instance, if you simply open the door briefly, the system holds off on activating the compressor, avoiding unnecessary consumption.

As for the interface, the Family Hub model supports daily board syncing, family calendars, recipe suggestions based on available ingredients, and a live 3D Map View of your connected appliances. You can also view what’s inside the fridge from the screen via a camera on the inside. Through this feature, food and beverages can be tagged with expiration dates.

The fridge’s camera sensor also enables user-aware experiences. For example, as you approach, the screen can display relevant info, like your calendar, weather updates, or SmartThings scene suggestions.

While most of these features might be dismissed as gimmicks on other appliances, they are likely to see more use on the fridge, which often serves as a shared family space for notes, photos, and accessories.
<h2 class="wp-block-heading">2. Bespoke AI JetBot Steam Ultra</h2>

If the fridge is the most practical update, the <a href="https://soyacincau.com/tag/samsung-bespoke-jet-bot-combo-steam/">Bespoke JetBot Steam Ultra</a> is the most technically interesting. Samsung has added liquid detection capability that allows the robot vacuum to identify not just solid obstacles, but also both coloured and transparent liquids, something few others in the market do.
It achieves this using a combination of dual RGB cameras and an IR LED sensor. When a liquid is detected, the robot can either mop first or finish vacuuming first based on user settings, and the mop pads lift automatically to prevent cross-contamination.

Samsung also introduced a pop-out side brush and mop extension system, similar to what we’ve seen from Ecovacs. The unit can extend its cleaning tools to reach corners and wall edges. Samsung says the new Clean Station is also improved. But from what we can tell, it seems largely the same as the previous model.
Additionally, the demo showed off a prototype auto-lifting wheel system, allowing the JetBot to climb over dividers and other short obstacles, though Samsung didn’t commit to whether this would make it into final production.
We are ranking the Bespoke AI JetBot Steam Ultra above the Bespoke AI Jet Ultra because these improvements further enhance its autonomous cleaning efficiency and frees up more of your time.

What sets the new <a href="https://soyacincau.com/tag/bespoke-ai-jet-ultra/">Bespoke AI Jet Ultra</a> apart isn’t just its suction power, but its AI-driven cleaning logic and SmartThings integration.
Through AI Cleaning Mode 2.0, the vacuum can detect the type of surface it’s cleaning, whether that’s tile, hardwood, a doormat, or a layered rug, and automatically adjusts both suction power and brush speed to match.

For example, it can reduce suction when moving across soft mats to prevent sticking or increase suction on hard floors to improve debris pickup. The system also improves manoeuvrability on high-pile rugs, where excessive suction can cause vacuums to dig in or stall. By easing suction when needed, the Jet Ultra balances smooth movement and cleaning performance.
On top of that, the Jet Ultra integrates with SmartThings in a few useful ways. Most notably, it can pause cleaning automatically when you receive a phone call or message on your connected Galaxy device. It can enter low-power standby mode when docked for long periods, helping preserve battery health.

With 400W of suction power, up from 280W from its predecessor, Samsung says the new Bespoke AI Jet Ultra is the most powerful stick vacuum it’s ever made, and currently the most powerful cordless model in the world. The HexaJet Motor, newly designed with a dual-wave diffuser and 3D impeller, increases the motor RPM to 148,000 while keeping the motor unit to just 148g.
The vacuum also includes:

The <a href="https://soyacincau.com/tag/samsung-windfree/">WindFree</a> AC lineup didn’t introduce much that’s notably new, but it did receive some thoughtful updates, particularly Good Sleep mode, which now syncs with your <a href="https://soyacincau.com/tag/galaxy-watch/">Galaxy Watch</a> or the <a href="https://soyacincau.com/tag/samsung-galaxy-ring/">Galaxy Ring</a> to dynamically adjust cooling based on your sleep stage.
During the demo, Samsung also highlighted Comfort Drying, a feature that controls refrigerant flow to selectively cool certain areas of the heat exchanger for more targeted dehumidification, reducing energy use and eliminating sharp drops in room temperature that traditional ACs suffer from.

The AC unit also continuously monitors indoor humidity, using onboard sensors to trigger or delay compressor activation. In SmartThings, this can be tied to other automations like reducing AC power when windows are opened or ambient conditions change.

There’s no significant new hardware or cooling innovation here, but rather smarter routines built on top of existing systems. Still, it’s a refinement that makes sense, particularly if you already wear a Samsung wearable.
<h2 class="wp-block-heading">5. Bespoke AI Washer + Dryer (Front Load Set)</h2>

The new <a href="https://soyacincau.com/tag/bespoke-ai-washer-and-dryer-set/">Bespoke AI Washer and Dryer Front Load Set</a> brings some solid software enhancements. The washer can identify up to five fabric types: normal, delicate, towels, outdoor, and denim, using AI Wash+, and the dryer uses AI Dry+ to detect four fabric types and adjust heat and timing accordingly.
On paper, this is a major AI upgrade. But in practice, the experience isn’t drastically different unless you’re mixing fabric types often. It’s smart, but not transformative.
The 7-inch AI Home Display on both units provide real-time feedback after every cycle: water usage, detergent consumption, and estimated energy savings. This is one of the few implementations where Samsung’s AI is visibly translated to the user, not just running in the background. However, given the cost of these units, the people buying them have little concern about usage, or their housekeeper couldn’t be bothered.
However, this pair solves one glaring issue with the Bespoke AI Laundry Combo. Unlike that machine, which required you to wait for the laundry to be washed and dried before you could put in the next batch, you can wash and dry different batches simultaneously with the Bespoke AI Washer and Dryer pair.
Yes, it does come with a lot of smart features and functions, but since it’s relegated to a corner of the house that’s mostly deserted, it will hardly ever be used.
<h2 class="wp-block-heading">6. Bespoke AI Top Load Washer</h2>

The <a href="https://soyacincau.com/tag/bespoke-ai-top-load-washer/">Bespoke AI Top Load Washer</a> is the first top-load washer in Samsung’s portfolio to feature embedded AI logic, and the core technology is impressive. It identifies fabric types not by touch or scan, but by how water absorption changes motor resistance during the wash cycle.
Samsung demonstrated this with a towel and a blouse of similar weight. As the towel absorbs more water and becomes heavier, the motor detects the increased load, and the machine adjusts the water level, agitation, and timing accordingly. It can currently classify three types of fabric: normal, delicate, and towel.

The washer also features AI VRT+, Samsung’s next-gen vibration reduction system. Unlike previous VRT implementations that relied on basic load balancing, AI VRT+ uses floor type detection via embedded accelerometers. If the washer detects it’s placed on a softer or more uneven floor (like tile vs concrete), it dynamically adjusts motor spin speed and braking torque to reduce vibration and noise during the spin cycle.
So, instead of reinforcing the chassis or improving physical dampening systems to reduce vibration, Samsung has chosen to let AI handle it in software. It’s a clever workaround, but it also raises a valid question: why rely on predictive logic instead of implementing actual hardware changes to fix the root cause?
The answer might come down to cost. If this approach allows Samsung to deliver a quieter, more balanced washer without significantly increasing the price, it could be a worthwhile trade-off, even if the AI logic isn’t 100% effective in every setting.
AI Energy Mode works by analysing the soil level, fabric type, and water load to optimise how much energy is used during a cycle. Instead of simply reducing temperature or extending the wash time like conventional “eco modes,” this system actively balances performance against consumption by adjusting motor speed, cycle length, and rinsing intensity in real time. Samsung claims this can reduce energy use by up to 60%, depending on the load type.
The underlying tech here is smart and well thought-out, especially the use of torque sensing and floor condition awareness. But for most users, these benefits are nearly invisible unless they’re actively looking for them.
<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Final Thoughts</h2>

Samsung’s smart home portfolio is evolving, but at different speeds across different products. Where the company succeeds is in solving clear, relatable pain points: opening a fridge with full hands, recognising liquid spills before they become a nuisance, and integrating device control into your daily tech habits.

What’s clear is this: Samsung is building out <a href="https://soyacincau.com/tag/smartthings/">SmartThings</a> not just as an app, but as a full ecosystem strategy. The more their devices talk to each other, the more those small improvements start to add up.
Just don’t expect everything labelled “AI” to matter equally, yet.

As with any instrument, learning the piano can be intimidating when you first start out. But indie developer <a href="https://www.pianocafe.life/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Plai Technologies</a> is developing an interesting approach to gamifying piano lessons with its upcoming mixed reality app, PianoCafe.
Coming to Quest 2 and above on July 30th, the MR game isn’t about ‘beat-ifying’ keystrokes like we’ve seen with other games, such as <a href="https://www.meta.com/experiences/pianovision/5271074762922599/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">PianoVision (2023)</a> from Zarr Apps, but by turning your keys into actual cooking ingredients.
Here’s the gist: as a short order chef, you use a real piano to cook meals by playing chords and serving ghostly customers a variety of dishes and drinks.

And you’ll need to serve up the right dish by summoning the right components, which are linked to individual keys and chords. For example, you might play a C major chord to get bread, F major for cheese, A minor for meat, and G major for lettuce. Put it all together, and you’ve got yourself a musical sandwich.
Granted, PianoCafe isn’t really supposed to be an all-in-one piano learning app—the studio says it’s “designed for curious minds and musical beginners”—but it does sound like a unique way to build early muscle memory and ease you into playing the piano before heading onto more difficult tasks, like learning to read sheet music.
You’ll also need your own MIDI-compatible piano to play PianoCafe; the app itself is currently using MIDI detection from the keyboard to the headset, which allows the app to accurately detect keys across MIDI-outputting electric keyboards with 45 to 88 keys.
The studio says the app’s next phase will however include using the Quest’s cameras to automatically detect keys, which will open gameplay up to traditional acoustic pianos without needing MIDI input.
In the meantime, you can wishlist PianoCafe over <a href="https://www.meta.com/experiences/pianocafe/9984685418263697/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">on the Horizon Store</a> for Quest 2 and above before it comes out on July 30th.

Instead of relying on a local partner to distribute their vehicles, the subsidiary of Geely has <a href="https://www.facebook.com/zeekrmalaysia/posts/pfbid0ZcfrM37dkMByAAKYMQ86WozSry9t2y7DC5G6XagGwW1mSmVqGLrMT7wYoGTDYdRil" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">announced the creation of Zeekr Intelligent Technology (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd</a> as the new National Sales Company (NSC) for our market.
In a media statement, Zeekr said that the NSC is responsible for the wholesale operations in Malaysia, together with branding & marketing activities, dealership network and aftersales operations. <a href="https://soyacincau.com/2024/06/10/zeekr-ev-malaysia-sentinel-automotive/">The company’s existing partner, Sentinel Automotive, remains </a>the official importer and dealer.

Back in April, the VP of Zeekr Group, <a href="https://soyacincau.com/2025/04/29/lynk-n-co-not-coming-malaysia-zeekr-priority/">Mars Chen has told SoyaCincau.com</a> that the company is working to enhance its operation in Malaysia, although we didn’t think at that time it would be something as big as NSC. In today’s announcement, the MD of Zeekr Southeast Asia, Alex Bao, said that Malaysia is indeed one of Zeekr’s most important markets in the region.

According to JPJ’s registration data from January to May 2025, Zeekr is currently <a href="https://soyacincau.com/2025/06/10/malaysia-jpj-ev-registration-may-2025/">the 7th most popular EV brand in Malaysia</a>. During the same period, the Zeekr 009 electric MPV is currently the 9th most registered EV in Malaysia, while the Zeekr X electric crossover currently ranks 26th.

The 5-seater electric SUV was recently previewed at the Malaysia Autoshow and is scheduled for release in Q3 with an estimated price range of <a href="https://soyacincau.com/2025/05/08/zeekr-7x-premium-suv-to-be-priced-from-rm182k-230k-in-malaysia/">between RM182,000 and RM230,000</a>, depending on the variant of your choice.

Meanwhile, Zeekr also said that several new showrooms will be opened within the next few months. In addition to Sentinel Automotive, the company also partners with Preeminent Auto and Carro to help increase Zeekr’s reach in Malaysia. 
Alongside the existing Zeekr Space Petaling Jaya and IOI Mall Puchong, the brand will have 10 showrooms altogether by the end of 2025:

Zeekr also said that three Zeekr Service Centres will be operational within this year in Bandar Sunway, Penang, and Johor Bahru. At the same time, it is also actively looking for new business partners to further expand Zeekr’s dealership network in new locations such as Cheras, Kuantan, Tebrau, Kuching, and Kota Kinabalu.

Ahead of the launch of the <a href="https://soyacincau.com/tag/samsung-galaxy-z-fold-7/">Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7</a> and <a href="https://soyacincau.com/tag/samsung-galaxy-z-flip-7/">Z Flip 7</a> lineup, serial leakster Evan Blass (aka EVLeaks) has continued to drop more images of the upcoming foldable flagship duo. 
Last week, Evan had revealed renders of the <a href="https://soyacincau.com/2025/06/25/samsung-galaxy-z-fold-7-render-leak-specs-launch-date/">Z Fold 7</a>, <a href="https://soyacincau.com/2025/06/25/samsung-galaxy-z-flip-7-fe-design-leak-galaxy-unpacked-launch/">Z Flip 7 and the Z Flip 7 FE</a>. Now we have a clearer view of the side angles, which provides a better visual of how much thinner the new foldables would be.
Can Samsung make a foldable that’s thinner than its Chinese rivals? Well, let the images do the talking.

The first image you see right here is the purported Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7. From the looks of it, it does look slightly thinner than the current Z Fold 6 but somehow it doesn’t seem to appear to be as thin as the <a href="https://soyacincau.com/tag/oppo-find-n5">Oppo Find N5</a>. The device still features the usual volume rocker and a power button that doubles as a fingerprint sensor. 
Also seen here are the protruding camera lenses which are similar to the current Z Fold 6. As a reference, the current Galaxy Z Fold 6 is 12.1mm thin when folded or 5.6mm thin when unfolded. 
At the moment, the <a href="https://soyacincau.com/tag/oppo-find-n5">Oppo Find N5</a> currently holds the title of having the thinnest bi-fold foldable smartphone at 8.93mm (when folded). It is so ridiculously thin that Oppo had to reengineer the USB-C port because there was hardly enough space left. 
Oppo may lose that title very soon as Honor has recently started teasing its upcoming Honor Magic V5. According to Honor, the Magic V5 will break records as it aims to be the world’s thinnest foldable flagship smartphone at just 8.8mm.

The next leaked image is the Z Flip 7 which now features a larger edge-to-edge cover display. Besides the cover display, the dimensions of the Samsung flip phone looks quite similar to its current generation Z Flip 6. It still retains the same flat edge industrial look along with two protruding cameras that pop-out from the cover display.
The Galaxy Z Flip 6 measures at 14.9mm thin when folded and 6.9mm thin when unfolded.
You don’t have to wait for too long to get the full details. The new Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7 lineup is scheduled to be revealed during <a href="https://soyacincau.com/2025/06/24/samsung-unpacked-galaxy-z-fold-7-flip-7-watch-8-ultra-9-july/">Galaxy Unpacked</a> happening on 9th July at 10pm Malaysian time. 
Besides the two foldable lineup, Samsung is also expected to introduce its new Galaxy Watch 8, Watch 8 Classic and Watch Ultra (2025).

Primarily known for its JPJ-related digital services, MyEG has changed its company name from MY E.G. Services Berhad to Zetrix AI Berhad. The new name has already been in effect <a href="https://www.bursamalaysia.com/market_information/announcements/company_announcement/announcement_details?ann_id=3566075" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">since 25 June</a>, although the company’s stock short name at Bursa Malaysia will only be changed from MYEG to ZETRIX later this week <a href="https://www.bursamalaysia.com/market_information/announcements/company_announcement/announcement_details?ann_id=3566970" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">on 3 July</a>.
The company originally announced its intention to change to the new name back <a href="https://www.bursamalaysia.com/market_information/announcements/company_announcement/announcement_details?ann_id=3549139" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">in late April</a>, but its corporate headquarters had been <a href="https://www.facebook.com/reel/1061327969192548" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">renamed from MyEG Tower to Zetrix Tower much earlier</a>. That being said, the approval from shareholders was only obtained <a href="https://www.bursamalaysia.com/market_information/announcements/company_announcement/announcement_details?ann_id=3565215" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">on 23 June</a> during the company’s 24th annual general meeting.

According to <a href="https://www.facebook.com/clubmyeg/posts/pfbid036Z6ojrGNMZpJjU7Xdq574Rah2g9VeqQMb5x9z9kmG7MeSYi3PwP52zgeuy2Y7t1Zl" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">the announcement on its official Facebook page</a>, Zetrix said that the decision behind the name change is to better reflect its evolving nature, which has since included blockchain, AI, and robotics. The new name is also meant to signify the company’s intention to venture beyond Malaysia and into the global market.
However, it is unclear whether the company will continue to use the long-established MyEG branding for its existing services or otherwise. At the time this article is published, the <a href="https://www.myeg.com.my/" data-type="link" data-id="https://www.myeg.com.my/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">MyEG website</a> is still online with no changes to the branding, while its mobile apps are still called MyEG across the <a href="https://apps.apple.com/my/app/myeg/id1494440437" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">iOS App Store</a>, <a href="https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=mf.myeg.com.eservicemobile&hl=en" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Google Play</a>, and <a href="https://appgallery.huawei.com/#/app/C101923427" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Huawei AppGallery</a>.

Cyan, the indie studio behind VR-supported revivals of classic puzzle adventures MYST (1993) and RIVEN (1997), announced a second tranche of layoffs following a round in March that reduced the company by half.
Cyan announced the news in <a href="https://bsky.app/profile/cyan.com/post/3lslyrwyzoz2n" target="_blank" rel="noopener">a Bluesky post</a>, linking an updated Google document with contact details of affected employees.
The updated list includes 14 names, although it’s unclear how many were affected in this second round versus March layoffs. Several of the listed employees were previously confirmed to have departed earlier this year. Additionally, inclusion in the document was voluntary.
Cyan announced in March that it <a href="https://bsky.app/profile/did:plc:iadgviytp3kfxzxluqzlucwe/post/3llhcilutzi2s?ref_src=embed" target="_blank" rel="noopener">was laying off twelve staff members</a>, “roughly half the team,” the studio confirmed. Since Cyan ostensibly had around 24 employees before March layoffs, it’s likely now down to single digits following the recent round.
At the time, Cyan said its “number one priority is to secure financing for our next project, and to restabilize the studio,” further noting the studio has “been around for a very long time, and have been through tough times before.”

“Industry conditions have forced us into a tricky spot where we are having to weigh the future health of our studio against the month-to-month realities of game development in 2025,” Cyan said in March. “Throughout the past year, we have been ultra-transparent with the entire Cyan team about the choppy waters we find ourselves in, as well as the dangers ahead. While the news of a layoff was not a surprise to the team, it was (and is) still deeply saddening for all of us.”

Caught up in the recent layoff round was Lead Game Designer and Writer Harrison Pink, who joined the company in 2023. In a <a href="https://www.linkedin.com/feed/update/urn:li:activity:7344423626722459649/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">LinkedIn post</a>, Pink calls the industry is “a complete mess right now.”
“It breaks my heart to say it, but unfortunately I was caught up in this layoff,” Pink says. “The industry is a complete mess right now, and I don’t blame any of this on the folks at Cyan, who have done as right by me as they possibly could.”
Cyan is best known for creating Myst, the groundbreaking 1993 puzzle adventure game that became a cultural phenomenon and helped popularize CD-ROM gaming.
Over the years, the studio released four other direct entries in the Myst franchise, including Riven (1997), Myst III: Exile (2001), Myst IV: Revelation (2004), and Myst V: End of Ages (2005).
Cyan’s first foray into VR gaming began with the release of Obduction (2016), a spiritual successor to Myst that was successfully crowd-funded via a Kickstarter campaign in 2013. The first-person sci-fi puzzle adventure was released across PC VR and the original PSVR, as well as console and PC.

In 2021, Cyan then launched a 3D remake of Myst, which released on Quest, PC VR, PC and console, updating the nearly 30-year-old game with modern graphics.
In 2023, the studio released Firmament (2023), its atmospheric puzzle adventure in the spirit of Myst and Obduction, launched across PC, console, PC VR and PSVR 2. Shortly afterwards, Cyan released the 3D remake of Riven, bringing the game to Quest, PC VR, PC and console.
The recent layoff round follows the release of ‘Rime’, a new free Age added to the Myst remake, launched on March 20th. Meanwhile, the studio is getting ready to launch Firmament on PS5 and PSVR 2 on July 2nd.

<a href="https://soyacincau.com/tag/bhpetrol/">BHPetrol</a> has announced a new <a href="https://soyacincau.com/tag/ev-charger/">EV charger</a> at its Persiaran Tengku Ampuan 1 (PTAR) in Shah Alam, Selangor. The petrol station now has a 60kW DC charger deployed by <a href="https://soyacincau.com/tag/dc-handal">DC Handal</a> and they are offering a special promo price of just 90 sen per kWh.
The new DC charger at <a href="https://www.plugshare.com/location/915247">BHPetrol Persiaran Tengku Ampuan 1</a> is located near the car wash area next to the BHPetromart, making this an ideal stop to get refreshments while topping up your EV. There’s even a McDonald’s drive-thru opposite the BHPetrol station. 
DC Handal has deployed an Autel DC charger unit with two CCS2 nozzles which are currently configured to deliver up to 60kW. From today, 30th June until 31st July 2025, EV users can enjoy an introductory price of just RM0.90 per kWh. That’s cheaper than AC charging on most public chargers.

Like any other DC Handal EV charging location, you can activate this charger by simply tapping your credit, debit or prepaid card on the card terminal. 
Alternatively, you can also activate and pay for EV charging via <a href="https://soyacincau.com/2025/06/18/dc-handal-ev-charger-tng-ewallet-qr/">TNG eWallet QR code</a>. Just tap on TNG eWallet icon on the terminal and then show your QR code towards the bottom of the terminal.

Look at the vivo X200 FE, and you will notice that it’s smaller in size than most other typical smartphones on the market today. Specifically, it sports a 6.3″ 120Hz LTPO OLED display that pushes out 2640×1216 pixels with a peak brightness of 5,000 nits, and is made out of a glass sandwich design, wrapped with an aluminium frame.
Flanking a dual stereo speaker setup up front, the vivo X200 FE is rated at IP68/69 for dust and water resistance. Powering the vivo X200 FE is MediaTek’s 9300+ chipset, paired with 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage.

In the imaging department, the vivo X200 FE sports a tri-camera setup at the back that’s been co-developed by Zeiss. The setup consists of a 50MP f/1.9 main camera, the same 50MP f/2.7 periscope telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom that’s found on the flagship X200, as well as an 8MP f/2.2 ultra-wide-angle camera. Video recording can be at up to 4K at 60fps. Up front, you also get a 50MP f/2.0 selfie camera.
Despite being small in size, while maintaining a thin and light profile, the vivo X200 FE comes with a huge 6,500mAh battery that can be charged using its USB Type-C 2.0 port at 90W via vivo’s Flash Charge technology.
