The things that we wear, and buy are status symbols to show off our economic success. New conducted studies show that there are other factors associated with determining social class status.Researchers from Yale University and the University of California-San Francisco conducted experiments on the verbal and nonverbal signs of determining background. This is what they found out. Researchers were able to determine people’s upbringing after listening to several spoken words from participants to see how well strangers could accurately determine where those participants stood on the economic ladder.What investigators found out was that peoples speech was most accurate when determining people’s economic backgrounds. Researchers found out that the first few words a person uttered would reveal if a person had a college degree or not. I conducted the same study with people I came in contact with every day and found this information to be 100% accurate.Researchers divided all speakers involved in the study into different social backgrounds based on their educational achievement and occupation. Once that was achieved, researchers then had observers listen to those speakers utter several words out of context. From those several words uttered, the observers were able to guess most of participants background at a rate that was higher than chance.Conversely, this study was compared to other studies that found that social class signals are everywhere, even written upon our faces. One recent study found that people could accurately determine whether people were rich, or poor based on their looks alone.Many scholars feel that speech gesturing will make it harder to cross social economic boundaries due to people being comfortable with people in their social class, and most people tend to interact and network more with people like themselves. When people accurately perceive social class interactions with others, signals that communicate differences in social class are likely to create limitations for those concerned. It’s near impossible to change the education system while we are still going through it. One of the major problems with this system is that it has always taught you how to work hard for your money. It’s a concept that has been used for many, many years, and will continue to be used for many more to come. Unless we start to stand up for what is really right and proper, it will continue for you kids and their kids and so on. Unless people start to realize that although the education systems are very important, it must also include, not only learning how to read, write, do math and so on, it must also include the financial intelligence that each and every one of us needs in order to live a prosperous life.</p><p>Too many educators would disagree with this statement, saying that financial intelligence should be taught at home. If over 90% of the people end up with next to nothing when it comes time for retirement, how can these same people possibly teach their kids how to handle their money? If these same people struggle to live pay check to pay check, then what do you think will happen when their kids grow up? We have always been taught to go to school, get good grades, find a good job, work hard and retire with a gold watch and the company pension plan. While this may have been possible at some point in the past, it is simply not realistic anymore. Perhaps one of the most influential advocates of teaching financial intelligence in schools is Robert Kiyosaki, the author of the Rich Dad Poor Dad series.</p><p>The one thing that Robert states in by learning from our education system, it only sets a person up for financial failure as opposed to happiness and abundance. It plants the seeds of doubt around every turn, basically scaring people into believing that there is only one path that they must travel down. The concepts of having money work for you, instead of working hard for money, could easily be taught to elementary school aged kids.</p><p>It is scientific fact that we do the majority of our learning at a very early age. At these young ages we are literally like knowledge sponges so to speak. We absolutely have the ability to soak everything in, and retain a staggering amount of information. If you doubt this concept, just look back on your past or your kids. How many movies did you watch with them that they could tell you word for word the dialogue, right along with the movie.</p><p>In learning about the education systems we should always question the fact that financial intelligence is no where to be found. Is this because they powers who be would feel threatened to actually teach information that could ultimately undermine the end goals that they have. It is absolutely one of the most ridiculous notions on the planet to believe that by continuing on the same course of action with our education systems, that anything will change.
