31.

In this article I want to cover a sub topic of the Ontario business registration process in detail, registering for your business name as well as registering for your business license. If you want to incorporate in Ontario to conduct business, you must first register a business name and obtain what’s called the Master Business License. You can do this in one of three ways, either by person by visiting a Service Center, by mail or online through a third party service provider. You can also hire an attorney to execute the Ontario business registration process for you, but this is a longer process on average and more expensive. The entity you want to register with is the Ministry of Government Services’ Companies and Personal Property Security Branch. This is the entity that issues the Master Business License that shows your registration number as a proof that you can legally do business in Ontario. As already covered on this website in other sections, the first step in the Ontario business registration process is to select a name for your business that is in accordance with the Business Names Act and the Business Regulations Reform Act of 1997. Basically, for a sole proprietorship, you can use your own name, but any slight variation or addition will require filing a separate legal entity name for your business. There is more information on what you can and cannot do on the Canada Ontario Business Services Center website or in a local office / branch. If you want to take the most streamlined approach to an Ontario business registration, I highly recommend you register online through the Service Ontario site so that you can register your business’ name and at the same time register with other authorities to obtain relevant account numbers such as the Ontario Ministry of Revenue, tax account numbers, permits, etc.Using online services can mean a relatively quick turnaround as well in terms of getting your Master Business License. You can get this in electronic PDF format. If not, you get a hard copy through mail. But before doing anything else, you need to do a name search to see if your contemplated business name is already registered.TIP: For a more comprehensive search select the “Enhanced Business Name Search” option. It costs a little more but it is worth it as it does a comprehensive check. You can do this under $12 typically online with a credit card.Again, you can register for your Ontario business license online as well, which is a legal requirement in order to do business in Ontario. Remember, if you are not comfortable transacting online or don’t want to do it in person, you can do so via mail by downloading the required forms online (Service Ontario website) and then mailing it to them at the address stated on the forms. All Ontario business registration forms are owned and managed by the Companies and Personal Property and Security Branch in Toronto. If all else fails, visit the nearest Service Ontario branch where you can use a self-help workstation and completing the forms there. You can contact Service Ontario at 1-800-565-1921.Registering the business name is the first step. Once you have that out of the way, you can proceed to incorporating your business and then obtaining the other relevant licenses and certifications needed that are specific to the nature of your business.Read more about why incorporate in Ontario Canada. Read more about the Ontario business registration process step by step here. I hope you found this brief run down on registering a business name in Ontario. Please let me know if I can be of further help to you.All the best to you,Benjamin Lashar
jasabacklinkpro.infojasabacklinks.infokalipakem.comseosites.infolinkseo.infocorkfthu.infocivycn.infocirghu.infowmipfde.infosmbizco.infofpclawcn.infozsirwde.infopokomde.infopage1google.infohshgjcn.infoeteyind.infojyblxcom.infocasinoslotonline.infoslotmachinetips.infoslotmachinestrategies.infoslotmachineodds.infoprogressiveslotwins.infojackpotslotwins.infobestslotmachine.infospinslotwins.infoslotbidwins.infofantasyslots.infojackpotslotsweb.info

 81.

 82.
I am a massive Google fan. I think they have done more to open up the web and unlock the information on it than any other company. It’s all very well having browsers and content but finding what you need in the morass is what has made the web exciting, to my mind.

 83.
But all this comes at a price – despite the recession, Google clocked up $5.7bn in revenue last quarter and while profits dropped to $382m, they have made as much as $1.29bn of profit in Q3 of 2008. It is, by any measure, an extraordinarily profitable business.

 84.
One of its main functions is to aggregate content so that we can all easily digest information, like that from newspapers. While having amazing deals with newspaper firms which nets it enormous advertising revenues, papers are finding it hard. In a recent conference organised by the newspaper industry, Google CEO, Eric Schmidt, was both critical of papers and criticised by them.

 85.
On the one hand, news companies saw the incredible revenues Google was making effectively off the back of their content, for which they have to pay handsomely to produce. On the other, Google believes that newspapers should revolutionise and get with the fact that they are useless at distributing their content. Schmidt criticised the newspaper industry for ‘pissing off’ its consumers and that Google were the heroes for distributing the content more effectively.

 86.
The Big Machine

 87.
Producing news is an expensive business, much more expensive than aggregating and distributing it. If someone delivered a paper to your doorstep which was just the information you liked as a synopsis of cuttings that would interest you from all papers in just one copy, small enough to digest the headlines but expandable if you want to read the detailed article, then that’s what Google does. With it comes all that context sensitive advertising, carefully targeted to get us to click through and earn fortunes for Google.

 88.
It is, undoubtedly, a terrific service.

 89.
But it is just that. The content is what drives the interest and it’s easy to forget that. I write this blog but the wider world beyond a clique of readers never get to see it as Google does not rate it and I do not pay them for anything. The result is that even if I have some practical advice for SMEs, beyond a few dedicated readers, the wider world never knows about it. If I wanted to expand my readership, I would have to pay Google to take interest. That does not stop them hosting the blog or popping adverts on the side. My content still earns them some money.

 90.
Google was described by one source from within the newspaper industry as a ‘tapeworm’, parasitically dependent on the content produced at great expense by the news industry. The consumers, though, want it all ways. I read the Telegraph from time to time because I like to do the crossword but if I want to find out about something quickly I ‘Google’ the subject and choose a prominent news story – it may not be the best written, the best informed or indeed written by a factual journalist in this country even, but it will be from the company with the highest Google rating which is ultimately driven by money.

 91.
The Future

 92.
Rupert Murdoch, that bastion of honest content and fighter on behalf of the consumer, has asked if aggregators like Google should in future pay for the content. It’s a relevant question from the wily proprietor. There is a long term risk that if news is only ever presented on the web then Google and others will have all the power in terms of distribution whereas in the old days the news companies controlled the chain right down to the vendors in the street. It was easy to see how money could be made from news. Now it’s not so clear.

 93.
Google always comes back to the ‘fair use’ argument – if this is what consumers want, why fight it? While newspapers would argue that the intellectual property rights to their content is being constantly eroded by having such ease of availability. The problem really boils down to, if content aggregation becomes the dominant way in which newspapers are distributed and read, then how will newspapers make money on their content? There is a small kickback of advertising revenue to newspapers, but you can rest assured that Google has the lion’s share for itself.

 94.
Much of what is reported in papers is rehashed and blogged on – some bloggers making some pretty profits on the back of the original content. News opinion like mine, derives its subject matter from content on the web – I make no excuses for that. While I make no money from it, it would be quite an easy thing to do – so for once, I have some sympathy for the man who took away the Ryder Cup and stuck it on Sky.

 95.
News has always been big business and while ticker feeds like Twitter claim that it is the new way to spread word faster when terrible events occur, feeds such as Reuters have specialised in this for years. The power is that Twitter could create a new army of ‘amateur journalists’ across the globe who provide short, sharp news from source rather than rehashing news on line.

 96.
Or so we would like to think. It comes as no surprise that Google is rumoured to be targeting Twitter as a takeover. It is a short hop to believe that Google is then going to become not just the content aggregator but also content provider of millions of ‘news’ feeds.

 97.
The News Revolution

 98.
The problem for people like me is that in a busy day with other things to do, getting news needs to be in short bursts and I turn to quality sites like the BBC, Sky, Bloomberg and others to get my feeds. I have tried Twitter but it really is like sitting in a large room with thousands of people talking and maybe one person in the room, at just one point in the day says something of real consequence. The rest is just a blur of irritating noise. To get anything from it, you have to use the aggregation devices, many of which are available like Tweetdeck and these can even be fed to your mobile.

 99.
You can then ‘follow’ your Tweeters into the toilet, through the supermarket and down the golf course and see what they are doing, reading and knowing. The problem is that the VAST majority of the ‘Tweets’ are just nonsense and trivial to the point of pathetic. Like watching Big Brother, unless you are interested in the armpits of yawning contestants lounging on a settee talking garbage, Twitter provides you nonsense.

 100.
The world of news still is all about sifting through the mass of data and source bites and putting together something of interest – reporting both facts and content. Reading Michael Parkinson’s superb analysis of Jade Goody’s life in the Radio Times was brought to me by Google but the content was all Parky. Without his insight, and the thousands of writers who provide news content and make it interesting and informative, Google would be nothing.

 101.
We have this dichotomy all the time. My wife’s Uncle, Terry Tyler, is a watercress grower and his cress is grown in the clean riverbeds between Sarrat and Chenies in Hertfordshire. He is not a big producer and he cannot afford the fees and chemicals to go ‘organic’ (perhaps another story of a sham industry awaits) but he uses no fertilisers at all to produce the most peppery and delicious watercress you will ever taste. You will never, ever buy it at any supermarket in the UK or even on market stalls in ‘market towns’ which advertise fresh, local produce. You will find it used by some of the top restaurants around Britain, however. The reason being is that he cannot afford to sell his product at supermarket prices as he hand grows and picks the lot. Despite knowing this, I still buy most of my watercress in supermarkets as it is more convenient, even though I am know I am buying inferior product and supporting large faceless suppliers who would put Terry Tyler out of business if they could.

 102.
We are a consumer society, and we want our product here and now, conveniently and cheaply. I think what will happen to news will be the same as has happened in Terry Tyler’s industry – the value of the content will diminish and the value in distribution will grow. We will see a fall in quality but a gain in availability. No longer will stories arrive at us based on the quality of the journalism and the facts but on the who has paid to be at the top of the search.

 103.
Don’t knock it, we asked for it.

 143.

Digital photos on canvas are becoming a popular way to create your own artwork. Many offices and homes today are displaying these canvas prints. Another good place to find these is in restaurants. The fun thing is that while they may have an expensive look about them they are quite affordable to have done today. It is a very easy ordering process too. You will have more trouble trying to decide which photos to use than you will actually ordering.Take into consideration which photos would look good in the location you want them to hang in. Then you need to choose what size photo canvas prints you want too. You can select from a variety of sizes. The prints can be hung separately or in groupings. Also if you are framing it, the frames should compliment your furniture not clash with it.Digital photos on canvas can be from print photos too, as long as you can scan them into your computer in the right resolution. Of course if your photos are already stored in your computer you will even have an easier time accessing. You will again have to have them in the right resolution though. They will need to at least be 700kb but can be as large as 2MB or more. The resolution for example needs to be 1296 x 1728 minimally for an 18 x 24.Once you have the photos you want to use in digital format and have checked their resolution, then you are ready to order. Go to the ordering website and start the process by filling in your sizes for canvas and uploading which photos are being used for each size. You can choose some special effects for your canvases too.Make them into a pop-art print which includes multiple versions of the same photo on one canvas. Each version has a bit different colors. Then there are the photo enhancing features you can perform like taking the red-eye out along with other alterations. For portraits it is sometimes fun to do either sepia tone or black-and-white tone. You can also choose whether you want a frame in the ordering process. Just select which one you want this will be figured in with your final price. This is a personal preference choice but it should go with your furniture and the print. Also know that if you want a more modern look leave the frame off. The frames can give the prints a more traditional look. So take this into consideration before ordering. Then you will just need to fill in your shipping and billing information. When you receive your digital photos on canvas prints you will be delighted to hang them in your house. You may even want to have a party to show them off. Your guests will be fascinated with your new canvas prints and wonder how you did them. Now that you know about these digital photos on canvas and how to make your own artwork, you will probably want to order some soon. Don’t forget they make good gift items too.

 182.

In this day and age where memories are easily preserved for posterity by way of digital photos taken either from digital cameras or smart phones, one can wonder if original masterpieces on canvas still hold a place in the hearts of art lovers everywhere. Once upon a time, the only pictures people had hanging on their walls were original painting done by talented artists at that time. While you can still some of these original works of art to this day, they have somehow undergone a major transformation – one that promises to keep their timeless appeal for many generations to see and feel the messages that they want to express. These days, if you want to own original art masterpieces but don’t want to spend too much for it, you get art canvas prints.A canvas print is the result of an image printed onto canvas which is stretched or gallery-wrapped onto a frame and displayed. They are often used as interior design staples, often featuring stock images or as many people prefer it, customized with personal photos to make them look like original art paintings. To make your own canvas print, you will need to cut or trim the canvas and glue or staple it to stretcher bars and display it in a frame made from solid pine and underpinned for additional strength or as a gallery-wrap. These prints are designed to continue around the edges of the frame to enhance the three-dimensional look of the mounted print. While most people take digital photos, print them on glossy paper and frame them for posterity, there are those who believe that turning them into art canvas prints will make them last longer, in addition to making your memories seem more real and lifelike. They also give your home a more polished look and unlike glass frames, you won’t experience any high gloss or sheen that will distract from the photo itself. Also, with art canvas prints, every detail in the photo stands out brilliantly and creates a texture that is quite unlike a traditional photo and draws the eye to the print and gives your photos more depth. Add to that the fact that traditional photo paper has the tendency to fade and crack after some time unlike canvas that preserves the image longer because it doesn’t absorb the oils from fingerprints, thereby allowing generations of people to enjoy the photos for years to come. The fact that canvas prints can be made into larger sizes without affecting the quality of the image is also another reason why people prefer to have their photos transferred onto canvas rather than photo paper. This offers much more decorating options – imagine being able to have a floor-to-ceiling self portrait in your home for your friends and family to admire and if you are using your own original artworks, it would present a better opportunity for you to showcase your work. Our memories are often the most important things in our lives, something we turn to when we feel down and something that encourages us and gives us hope. It is only fitting therefore that they be showcased and displayed in the best way possible, preserved perfectly and hung where we can easily see them so we will always remember who we are and be proud of what we have become.

 197.

I got my first real break in Search Engine Optimization training when the county I live in hired me to review seven major web development firm’s technical proposals for a county tourism web site. For over a year and a half I participated in county meetings where I answered their questions and clarified terms and concepts present in the proposals. Of the hundreds of things I learned, I learned two key things of very real value involving e-newsletters.The first thing that I learned is that it is of major importance to gather email addresses from your site made up of people who want to sign up for an e-newsletter. This is important from a direct marketing perspective because in direct marketing the list is of key importance. The list is key because it contains information about good prospective clients who have expressed a real interest in your products or services because they have gone through the trouble of signing up.The second thing I learned is how to engineer the e-newsletters by creating landing pages on the site. A landing page is a specially prepared page on your site that need not be linked to from the rest of the site itself. The landing page may or may not have site menu links – or a clickable link – to some page or pages on your site, however the landing page is meant to be a destination in and of itself to serve the special purpose of tracking your e-newsletter’s effectiveness. In the case of an e-newsletter that page serves three purposes. The three purposes of a landing page involve tracking, testing, and, of course, making sales. The copywriting (which is the sales pitch with benefits and offers) in your e-newsletters can be pure and unencumbered by concerns about the Search Engines or Search Engine Optimization because the people to whom you’re sending your e-newsletters are receiving them directly from you. People who search on the web for your services and products won’t enter your marketing sales language into the search engines, and the search engines won’t rank you for your products and services if there’s very little service and product keyword optimization. There is a way to solve that problem using Search Engine Marketing (SEM), and I’ll describe that a little further on in this article. The immediate problem of a lack of Search Engine Marketing on your site is solved by using e-newsletters, and here’s how:The steps in writing an effective e-newsletter are important and should be carried out faithfully in order to achieve the highest return for your efforts. The first step involves the writing and testing of the e-newsletter itself. Each month your client (the owner of the website) produces an upbeat e-newsletter of value to the reader with interesting and valuable information. It can be a story featuring a client, a link or two to other sites with more valuable information, and the introduction of an existing or new product or service that will be of benefit of the customer. One possible article idea could cover regulations involving your industry – so you might include information about one of these new rules as it pertains to the customer. You may want to give information on how to do something better using one of your products – perhaps a new way to use or apply it that one of your customers told you about. The article can focus on how a client had a problem and how your product solved it, or how your client found an added benefit that nobody else has thought of and how it made his or her situation better. A case study can be included as a story, or a press release will also do – particularly if it relates to a charity event.Once you have collected several dozen sign-ups for e-newsletters and your client sends you her completed e-newsletter you create an email with a short message about the e-newsletter’s contents (or part of the newsletter itself) and provide a link to the actual e-newsletter itself on her website. The reason you place the e-newsletter on the site is so you can track it to analyze the effectiveness of the copywriting. For maximum effectiveness three critically important steps must be taken when you create your e-newsletter. The first step involves a) the subject line you type into your email, and what they’ll see first when they receive their e-newsletter before opening it, and b) the body of the e-newsletter itself. You must carefully word your subject line in the email. Don’t use anything like “buy it now” “on sale” or anything else commonly used and seen in spam or it will be deleted (and possibly reported as spam). Make sure you send it from a company email address if you can. Trisha3333(at)yahoo.com may work – but it looks best if it’s professional from one of her website email addresses instead. The subject line can look like any of these:”Has the economy affected (your product/services) prices? What (needed products/services) are still in demand? | YourCompany Survey” or “(your industry here): What’s hot, what’s not; (some portion of your industry here) expands (product or service here); Economic crisis fuels (industry related problem here) concern” etc.Millions of potential subjects exist and your first job is to find two or three ways of wording them so your prospective customers will open the email. When you have a small email list, start off with two separate emails, each with a different subject line. Each set of emails will have a different landing page so you can track which email subject line was actually opened. You’ll want to send these emails to at least 30 people for each version of the subject line – but hold off on sending the e-newsletter to everyone on your list. The copywriting in the body of the e-newsletter will undoubtedly sooner or later contain information about your client’s offer – each feature of what is being offered needs to be described as a benefit, and an attractive offer must be made such as “Buy this and get that free” or “Buy that and get this at half price” or “Free shipping if you order now” or any other such special deal of value to the customer in exchange for the customer’s valuable cash. The second step is to take the most effective subject line, e-mail, and landing page and combine them, and then send that final version to the rest of the mailing list.As your list grows, you’ll be able to create three (or more) test versions of your subject line – each using a minimum of 30 people to make the results statistically meaningful. When your list grows to around 1,000 people you can then do another double blind test where you take the results from the 30 emails you send out to two or three groups and send them to two versions of landing pages with different benefits and different offers for your products after your client has gone through explaining them. Now you take the best subject line response and send it out to two more groups of 30 or more, and see which landing page produces the highest number of sales! So you’ve sent out four sets of 30 emails all together to 120 people and found out which subject line got read and clicked on most – and which landing page offer got the highest response – and you combine them into a final e-newsletter and send it to the rest of your list using the best subject line and the best e-newsletter version landing page.So how do e-newsletters improve your SEO? In the short run – they don’t, but if sent and tested regularly what they can do is improve the effectiveness of your current level of Search Engine Optimization by turning mere visitors into real customers – and when you find a few winning formulas for success in your e-newsletter copywriting, you can take those offers and optimize them using SEM, which as I mentioned earlier is Search Engine Optimization of market copy writing – also known as Search Engine Marketing and place that SEM copy on the regular pages of your web site to gain the best of both worlds.Yes, its work – but it’s also something extremely valuable for you as a learning tool. What if you found that one of your e-newsletters was so interesting that it got a higher response and sales rate than anything else so far? You can immediately turn it into a clickable link featured right from your home page – subject line included as the link – and pick up clients right away from the web, or you can Search Engine Marketing optimize it and use it that way!E-newsletters really work. I’ve tried them on clients’ web sites and personally know others who use them regularly, and people who sign up really do make purchases.
