31.

Woodwind instruments have some of the most intense depths of sound and tone of any type of instrument. There is a certain, haunting soul that you can capture on a saxophone or clarinet that is more di?cult to get on a piano. Despite this, woodwinds are criminally underused in many types of music, and very often, are confined to ‘traditional’ classical music.
32. But just listening to classical music can get boring after a while, and many woodwind musicians prefer to play a wide variety of musical styles and genres.

 33.
As such, we’ve compiled a list of three modern woodwind classics, featuring our favourite hits from jazz, rock, and pop.

 34.
1. John Coltrane – Blue Train (1958: Saxophone)

 35.
It’s impossible to compile a list of the greatest wind musicians without John Coltrane being somewhere near the top. Blue Train is one of the most talked about jazz albums of the past century, and deservedly so. It o?ers a glimpse into another era and another life: equal parts busy and minimal, chaotic, yet structured. Joyful, but with a hint of melancholy. A nostalgic trip into the past, but one which is so completely timeless that it will never get old or stale.

 36.
Perhaps it is no surprise that this particular album was written during Coltrane’s recovery from heroin addiction, just four months after getting clean. There is an air of freshness and wondrous observation about the piece; as if you can just imagine Coltrane composing the melody in a cafe while watching people emerge from the railway station.

 37.
There is a bustling rhythm to the music that is just so very human, as if you are seeing the life in front of you in a di?erent way. The way you might see it when starting a new life, as Coltrane himself did.

 38.
Coltrane’s saxophone is cool, understated, and minimal. Even when he plays the runs and trills, the simplicity of the backing makes the instrument shine. In several parts of the recording, you can hear the breathy, dull sound of the saxophone reed which helps to ground the piece and bring it back to earth.

 39.
2. Sidney Bechet – Petite Fleur/Stranger On The Shore (1952: Saxophone)

 40.
‘Bechet to me, was the very epitome of jazz.’ – Duke Ellington

 41.
Although a little more traditional in its style than Coltrane’s jazz, Bechet’s songwriting is classic and memorable, and o?set by touches of Latin American flair across the piece. Despite its subtlety, there is an inherent passion in Bechet’s playing, which can be heard throughout.

 42.
The classic melody, in keeping with popular musical values of memorability and simplicity, is o?set by more complex beats and jazz elements, which makes the piece fascinating to listen to while retaining its approachability.

 43.
This, along with the audible attitude and suaveness of the voice of the saxophone, creates a sense of wistfulness – with a hint of romantic and sexual longing, and the lonely simplicity of the instrument against a minimal background.

 44.
Bechet was a groundbreaking musician: in an era where racial (and therefore musical) segregation was the norm, he became the first important jazz artist on record, just a few months before Louis Armstrong rose to fame.

 45.
Bechet came from New Orleans, but found the jazz scene in the United States limited and decided to continue his career in France, where he joined La Revue Negre, a show starring popular Black music and talent of the time, including the singer and stage performer Josephine Baker. It was here, in his new home of France that Bechet wrote Petite Fleur.

 46.
3. Benny Goodman – In The Mood (Clarinet)

 47.
Known as The King Of Swing, Benny Goodman’s In The Mood was immediately popular among white Americans who may not have listened to jazz otherwise. Goodman’s concert at Carnegie Hall in NYC was described by critic Bruce Eder as “jazz’s coming out party to the world of respectable music”.

 48.
While this attitude towards Black music is a clear reflection of racial prejudices of the time, Eder does identify the unifying spirit of Goodman’s music. Goodman’s groups were some of the first truly racially integrated bands of the era, and he showed the same values in his personal life at the time, being vocally against any kind of racism throughout his musical career.

 49.
Benny Goodman’s orchestra went on to become one of the most popular bands of the Swing era, and their concert at Carnegie Hall was hailed as the ‘single most important concert in history’ for its influence on popular music at the time.

 64.

Did you know that juggling is a rewarding hobby? Studies indicate that people who juggle have more brain grey matter than those who don’t. To most people, juggling is a lofty goal. Only a few find it easy, but it’s possible when you learn the basics, work hard, and practice more.
65. If you’ve never juggled before and want to teach yourself how to do so, this article is for you. It will take you step-by-step on learning juggling as a beginner.

 66.
Let’s dive into it!

 67.
Step 1: Select Ideal Balls

 68.
You’ve probably seen a juggler pulling a stunt in the street or during a concert. The balls they toss are specific for juggling. You can find some on the market.

 69.
As a beginner, you need juggling balls made with softer materials. Such balls can hardly bounce from your hands. Since the balls also don’t roll away or bounce a lot when dropped, they pose less threat to people or things around. Also, when you chase balls that have bounced or rolled far away, you drain the energy that you could have utilized learning the art.

 70.
Professional jugglers can work with balls of the same color. But as a newbie, you should use juggling balls of different colors. It will be easier to identify them and easily coordinate the balls with your eyes and hands. Ball colors should be eye-popping for a flashy and fun experience.

 71.
Are you working on a tight budget? No problem. You can buy beanbags. They come at incredibly low prices and are excellent for beginners. If you love doing simple DIY home crafts, you can make one and save your hard-earned dollars.

 72.
Alternatively, you can make slip-free grip balls by filling a medium-sized round balloon with pennies or stuffing sand into old tennis balls.

 73.
Step 2: Make Your Hands Used to the Balls

 74.
As a first-time juggler, your hands haven’t gotten used to the balls. The first thing you need to do after acquiring the right juggling balls is to make your hands get used to them. It’s the first juggling touch experience.

 75.
Sounds fun? Yes, it is.

 76.
Begin by using one ball. Throw it from one of your hands to the other. Do so several times.

 77.
Does it seem silly to you? I think so. But it will help you to be comfortable when throwing and catching a juggling ball.

 78.
Then start practicing selfies. They entail throwing the ball up high and catching it with the throwing hand. Use each hand to practice and ensure they don’t move too much. Your elbows should stay at the same level as your hips.

 79.
Your non-dominant hand may find it challenging to throw the ball accurately to your dominant hand. Keep practicing until you’re comfortable throwing and catching the ball from and to each hand. Once you have grasped the ropes of this art, you can start practicing the next step.

 80.
Step3: Learn How To Scoop

 81.
Most juggling learners drop off at this stage. But when your hands have gotten used to the juggling balls, scooping is easy with practice and determination.

 82.
Scooping is the art of dipping your hand before you toss the ball. It makes juggling easy. The dip shouldn’t be so deep because it will interfere with the correct juggling scoop. To scoop correctly, try moving your hands in small circles.

 83.
The arc formed after scooping shouldn’t be above your eye level. With more practice, you can scoop smoothly while forming the right arc. At this point, proceed to learn the next step.

 84.
Step 4: Practice Tossing Two Balls

 85.
Begin by holding a juggling ball in each hand. Let’s assume the ball in your right hand is ball A and the left hand is ball B. Then toss ball A. When it reaches the optimal point of its arc, toss the other ball.

 86.
If you toss ball B when ball A hasn’t arrived at the top of its arc, it will interfere with the timing. You won’t have enough time to catch the balls. One may fall when catching the other. It also disrupts your next throw.

 87.
Continue practicing until you can juggle the two balls smoothly. Then move to the next step.

 88.
Step 5: Practice Tossing a Minimum of Three Balls

 89.
You must understand the ball’s trajectories and their intertwining art before tossing three or more of them at once. In the case of a three-ball juggle, one should be in the air while you hold the other two in each of your hands.

 90.
Seems complicated? No.

 91.
First, hold two juggling balls in your dominant hand and the other one in your non-dominant hand. Then throw one of the balls on your dominant hand towards your non-dominant hand. Scoop and form the right arc as you do so. When the ball reaches the optimal point of its arc, throw the ball from your non-dominant hand to your dominant hand.

 92.
Pass it under the first ball. And when it arrives at its highest point, catch the first ball you threw from your dominant hand as you throw the remaining ball in your dominant hand. Ensure you throw the third ball under the second ball.

 93.
When you catch the second ball, wait to catch the third ball, and that is all. Easy, right? Yes, with much practice. It’s also fun and breathtaking.

 94.
If you find it challenging, try practicing using lightweight, small scarves. You will understand better how the balls operate while in motion. Repeat as many times as you can until you do it effortlessly. Then proceed to the next step.

 95.
Step 6: Practice Scooping the Opposite Direction

 96.
You have learned how to scoop the balls under the one on its highest point, then catch it. This step will teach you how to scoop the ball over a ball while at its highest point. That’s why it’s called the over-the-top method.

 97.
When you grasp the art, you can add another ball or more. Juggling more than three balls is similar to a three-ball juggling, except that you need to move your hands faster.

 98.
Conclusion

 99.
As illustrated above, juggling is doable with much practice. Despite entertaining you, juggling also improves your hand-eye coordination. Also, a juggler concentrates more and has fantastic problem-solving and goal-setting skills.

 100.
You’ll find other skills easy to grasp when you learn to juggle because of your improved coordination and reflexes. Don’t wait anymore. Teach yourself with the above step-by-step guide and juggle like a pro!

 101.
If you want to go beyond being just a beginner at this or any other skill, and work toward developing a real mastery, then you are going to need a deeper and more powerful strategy. What you need is a way to hack your brain so you can develop a winning mindset.

 102.
A winning mindset is a state of mind that allows you to enter a flow state at will. You do this by programming your subconscious mind.

 103.
Believe it or not, most of what you do throughout an average day is NOT freely chosen by your normal waking consciousness even though it may seem that way. The truth is that most of what you do on a day-to-day basis is done on autopilot. An example of this would be when you’re driving your car and as you do so you get bored and begin daydreaming. Before you know it, you find yourself several miles further down the road with absolutely NO memory of having driven those last several miles.

 104.
So, who exactly was driving while your waking consciousness was in la-la land, and how exactly did you manage to avoid an accident? Your subconscious mind was in control. You already spent years programming your subconscious with how to deal with a broad range of possible driving scenarios and thus it had no trouble taking the wheel while your waking consciousness took a little break. In other words, you were able to take effective actions without having to THINK about them.

 119.

Even the most talented songwriters and composers sometimes hit a dry spell. This can be due to several factors; stress, boredom, and fatigue can all contribute to ‘musician’s block’, making it di?cult to summon the energy or inspiration to come up with something new and original.

 120.
Your ability to write music may also be hindered by events in your musical career, such as low self-esteem following a poor critique, or working on an album that you simply don’t enjoy.

 121.
Fortunately, we are blessed to live in a world which is full of inspiration, just waiting to be uncovered. Here are a few top techniques for overcoming musician’s block.

 122.
Stimulating With Self Care

 123.
If you’re not taking care of your body and mind, your brain will have a more di?cult time coming up with innovative ideas. Fatigue, hunger, and stress can have the e?ect of creating a ‘brain fog’ that makes it harder to focus.

 124.
Taking some time away from your instrument or computer can give your brain time to relax, which helps you to come back to your work with a fresh pair of eyes.

 125.
Consider:

 126.
Have you eaten a healthy balanced diet today?
127. Have you drunk enough water?
128. Have you had between 8 and 10 hours of sleep?
129. Have you washed and dressed yourself today?
130. Is your environment a relaxing and clean place to work?
131. Have you taken regular breaks?

 132.
Spending Time In Nature

 133.
Nature is a great source of inspiration for many musicians and artists, and the natural world has inspired many of the greatest hits of all time, from Vivaldi’s Four Seasons to Bob Thiele’s What A Wonderful World.

 134.
Taking the time to go outside and engage with nature also has many benefits for mental health, such as improved concentration and attention, lower stress levels, and increased endorphin and dopamine levels – all of which result in feelings of happiness and calmness.

 135.
You may also find inspiration from the sounds found in the natural world: Pink Floyd famously sampled a range of animal noises on their album Animals, while the Doors’ Riders On The Storm uses storm and rain samples to create a moody atmosphere. In modern pop, Lana Del Rey is also known for her use of ocean sounds in many of her tracks.

 136.
When you’re out for your next walk, why not record any sounds that spark your imagination? You can then use these samples in electronic tracks, or attempt to replicate them using instruments.

 137.
Play A Word Game

 138.
If you prefer to write your lyrics before the music, playing a word game such as Scrabble can be a great way to get over writer’s block. These kinds of games stimulate your brain and can help you to identify catchy words or phrases to use in your lyrics.

 139.
Investing in a set of word fridge magnets can be a great way to experiment with di?erent words and phrases for your songs. Every time you go to your fridge throughout the day, take a look at your magnet set. Which words go well together and why? How can you use these phrases to make an impression on your audience?

 140.
Use Your Experience

 141.
Experience is a powerful tool for creating emotional songs that your listeners can connect to. Many classic songs have been inspired by powerful events – both good and bad – that affected the artists or their loved ones.

 142.
You have likely had many experiences in your life that have made an impact on you; these experiences can be something that has happened to you directly, stories you have heard from others, or a combination of the two.

 143.
What experiences in your life stand out to you? How did you feel back then? And do you feel di?erently about them now?

 144.
Exercise: Identify one positive experience and one negative experience from your life that have made an impression on you. How can you communicate the feelings attached to these events through music and lyrics?

 145.
Do you want the music to match the lyrics in tone? Or is it more e?ective to communicate feelings of confusion by using contrast, such as happy lyrics with sad music, or vice versa?

 146.
Read A Book

 147.
Books are an excellent resource for musicians and can help artists to build a creative persona. Many popular songs have been based on books, including Kate Bush’s Wuthering Heights, and Je?erson Airplane’s White Rabbit, which was inspired by Alice In Wonderland.

 148.
And if classical literature isn’t your cup of tea, A Perfect Circle wrote So Long And Thanks For All The Fish inspired by Douglas Adams’ successful sci-fi comedy The Hitchhiker’s Guide To The Galaxy.

 149.
When writing about your favourite novel consider:

 150.
Which character(s) do you relate most to? How can you communicate their personality through music and lyrics?
151. What is the overarching storyline or theme of the book?
152. Are there any thematic elements you can use from the book to enhance your music, such as sounds or well-known quotes?

 153.
Whatever your writing style, there are countless sources of inspiration to draw on. So why not kick back and enjoy your favourite works of literature? You may find they inspire your own masterpiece.

 168.

It might be cold and grey outside your window right now, but brighter things are on the horizon. In just a few short weeks, thousands of people throughout the UK will be attending Pride Month 2023 events and celebrating all things LGBTQ+.
169. Preparing for Pride Month UK 2023 is always fun, but if this is your first time getting involved or your first time at the London parade, we bring you the essential facts and tips for how to make this your best Pride ever. The first question you might be asking is “when is Pride Month 2023?” We have you covered with the dates, the history, and how to celebrate Gay Pride with, well…gay abandon!

 170.
What is Pride Month? Every year, during the month of June, the LGBTQ community gets together to celebrate Pride in many different ways. This special month is host to many events that recognise the influence and positive change that LGBT people have brought to the worldwide community over the years. Why is Pride held in June? This was when the Stonewall riots took place back in the 60s. But more of that a little later.

 171.
The Significance of Pride Imagine walking down the street hand in hand with the person you love. It’s such a simple gesture and something most people don’t give a second thought to. But for many people in the LGBTQ+ community, this isn’t always the case.

 172.
Being a gay man in the UK was a crime until 1967. And it was only in 2008 that it became a crime to incite homophobic hatred. We’ve come a long way since then, but there is still so much work to do.

 173.
Pride is significant in many ways. Yes, it’s a wonderful celebration that is getting bigger every year. However, Pride events are also about empowering LGBTQ+ people to stand up for and reclaim the human rights and freedoms they are still denied in everyday life and everyday situations.

 174.
The Purpose of Pride Month Pride Month, running throughout the month of June, is dedicated to the celebration of LGBT culture, the uplifting of LGBTQ voices, and the support of LGBTQ rights.

 175.
From parades and protests to live theatre and drag performances, Pride is part celebration and part political activism. Pride also provides people with a chance to remember beloved members of the community who have sadly lost their lives to HIV/AIDS and hate crimes.

 176.
The History of Pride Month Pride Month commemorates the Stonewall uprising, which occurred in June 1969. The first Gay Pride Liberation March was held in Manhattan in 1970 to mark the one-year anniversary of the uprising. However, it would take a further 30 years before Pride Month became official. Let’s take a closer look at the history.

 177.
The Evolution of Pride Month What started out as a protest back in 1969 is now a celebration and symbol of hope for LGBTQ+ communities around the world. However, there is still so much work to do. While a lot of progress has been made, there are many LGBTQ people in repressive settings that still need to live and love the way they choose to under the radar. Pride will continue to grow and evolve to help communities worldwide to gain the rights they deserve and make a stand wherever necessary.

 178.
The Stonewall Riots In the early hours the of 28th of June 1969, police raided the Stonewall Inn in New York City. Three nights of unrest and riots followed as the LGBT people started fighting back against the police brutality and prejudice they had been victims of for too long. The anniversary is a reminder to LGBTQ people and the world how important it is to stand together in defiance of those seeking to divide us.

 179.
Back in Britain, not long after the Stonewall riots took place, the British chapter of the Gay Liberation Front was founded. The first Gay Pride Rally took place in 1972 in London. The rest, as they say, is history.

 180.
How Pride Month is Celebrated Today Today, Pride celebrations include parades, parties, picnics, peaceful protests, concerts, workshops and so much more. LGBT events around the world attract millions of participants and everybody, gay, straight, in or out, is welcome to attend.

 181.
Memorials are also held during Pride Month to remember members of the community who have lost their lives to HIV/AIDs or hate crimes.

Whether you choose Pride Month to come out, to become a better ally, or show off the Pride outfit you’ve been working on all winter, have FUN.

 189.
How to Celebrate Pride Pride is an opportunity to celebrate the progress that has been made towards acceptance and equality throughout the LGBTQ+ community. There are many ways you can celebrate, including:

 190.
Attend a Pride event: Look out for events in your city during Pride Month and other times during the year. Celebrate with others and show your support for the LGBTQ+ community.

 191.
Host your own Pride event: Anybody can arrange and host a Pride event. Get the word out on social media. Look beyond June to host events, too. The LGBTQ community needs support all year round.

 192.
Wear Pride colours: Show your support by wearing rainbow colours- widely recognised colours of the LGBTQ+ community.

 193.
Display flags outside your home, wear Pride t-shirts and have fun with your outfit and decorations. Pride is anything but dull, so be proud to show your colours.

 194.
Celebrate with friends and family: Whether you are a member of the community or an ally, Pride is a fantastic way to celebrate with friends and family and show your support.

 195.
Support LGBTQ businesses: Make a difference by using services and buying products from openly LGBTQ businesses. Many big brands also show their support for Pride Month, changing their packaging to reflect Pride colours and donating to LGBTQ charities.

 211.

INTRODUCTIONAre you thinking about starting a business in 2019, but don’t know how or even where to begin? This article outlines the biggest obstacles to overcome, what you need to start your business, and what to do after year one!THE MYTHS OF STARTING A BUSINESSWhen thinking about starting a business you want to think about “Why are you starting the business?” Often times someone decides to start a business with the mindset they will have more free time, work at home, and have a flexible schedule. Unfortunately, it is important to avoid these myths. Majority of the time, starting a business isn’t any of these things. Instead, it is long hours, working at home may be a distraction, less flexibility, and there are many hats to juggle. It’s completely different then working for a company and it is important to keep all of this in mind when deciding if starting a business is right for you. If it is, then let’s dive into getting started with your business idea!Attitude is EVERYTHING. You need to always keep a cheery attitude. Many things are going to happen during the lifecycle of the company, both good and bad, and the most important thing is to keep a positive attitude.BIGGEST OBSTACLES TO OVERCOMEThe two biggest obstacles startups face when starting a business is money and reputation. You need to make sure you are able to stay afloat and have a means of financing when starting out. And reputation is also an obstacle because you don’t have a reputation or customers. Unless you start out with a group of customers, most of the time you are starting out very alone.WHAT YOU NEED?VIABLE PRODUCTYou need to provide a product/service that people want to buy. Researching similar products/services is important to see what else is out there that is similar to your idea and then determine how your product will be better than the competition. It is also important to be able to bring experience to the table. It is the experience you have that will make the company. Typically, you want to have a niche so you can take a focused approach and decide what type of company you want it to be. Lastly, you need to consider if you can sell enough of your product or service to make a living. Will you be able to cover all of the expenses and salaries that come with a business?BUSINESS PLANA business plan is absolutely essential. What is a business plan?Start with an executive summary, which is a high-level description of what the business is going to do. Next, you need a business description that lays out the business in detail. Then, comes the market analysis, who is going to be your customer and who is your competition? Next, is organization management. Who is going to manage the business? Are you going to manage it yourself or are you going to hire someone from the outside to handle your business? Most of the time you are starting off managing the business yourself. Next, you need a sales strategy, what type of sales strategy are you going to encompass? And lastly, you need to include funding requirements and financial projections. What kind of funding do you need to start the business and how much do you project to make?A written plan is critical. It is absolutely essential you write down the above information on paper. There are many business plan templates available to help. Even if you are an established business, you don’t need anything complicated. An additional resource is a simple roadmap. This breaks out month by month projections for 2 years. What trade shows will you attend? How many people will you hire? What type of marketing campaigns will you run?Last, goals are extremely important. You need to set specific goals in your business plan so you know where you are heading.MEANS OF FINANCINGHow will you finance your business? Some of the key questions to ask are how much money will you need to stay afloat? Will you be taking a salary? What will your non-salary expenses be? How many people do you plan on hiring the first year? What about company benefits? Even if you are by yourself, you will need benefits and insurance. These are all questions you need to think about.Should you self-finance or take out a loan? Self-financing is often recommended if you have enough money in the bank to float the business and your salary for a year or two. This option reduces the pressure. The last thing you want is pressure from creditors. Loans are going to be difficult to procure. If you manage to get a loan, you will have to personal guarantee and you will need collateral. There is also the possibility for a financial business partner, however, a financial business partner can often lead to meddling and pressure. It also may cause you to run the business differently then you envisioned. Remember, you are starting the business to put your own spin on it!A fourth option is a funding company. This is a viable option because they will often do your payroll and invoicing for you. Sometimes the funding company will provide a basic ATS system as well that could help you start off. The downside to a funding company is often it is hard to breakaway. You need to pay off loans with interest and sometimes it isn’t financially feasible to breakaway. If you use a funding company, you want to make sure you understand the agreement and know what it takes to step away from the funding company. Some additional funding options, are family, small business grants, and crowdfunding/internet. It is really up to your discretion though if this is a good option for you. Small business grants tend to be hard to secure and a lengthy process. Crowdfunding, gives you small amounts of money from a large number of people. It is an unusual option, but could work. How much should you pay yourself? It depends on the industry, but typically your first year’s salary is $34K to $75K. You also have to be prepared to possibly make nothing for a couple of years! It is important to prepare for that. You don’t want to get yourself into a debt situation.First Year Profits. Very few businesses make a profit their first year. It is incredibly important to not get discouraged if this is the case and continue to soldier on. Generally, it takes two to three years for profits to kick in.COMPANY NAMEMake sure you create a company name that you like and represents the “look & feel” of the business. Avoid using your name, leave that to the law and accounting firms! Sometimes it makes you look small. You always want to make yourself look larger than you are. Lastly, consider a name that begins with an “A” to appear high on lists.Next, you will need to form a corporation. You can’t just start selling stuff! A good best practice is to get a book and read about the different kinds of corporations. You really need to understand how this works if you are running a business. You will need an EIN (Employer Identification Number). Then you will need to decide what kind of corporation you want to form. There are C corporations, which is an Inc. company. You may have heard the term “Cannot pierce the company veil.” That means if you start a C corporation, no one can sue you personally. They have to sue the corporation. Additionally, you file taxes separate from your personal taxes. This is a great option because it allows you to keep your personal and business affairs separate. For S corporations, this is not the case. Your personal and business tax returns are the same. One advantage to keep in mind, if you want to sell the company there are often tax advantages. If you form a C corporation, it is very difficult and expensive to form a S corporation afterwards. If you don’t plan on keeping the business for a long period of time, forming a S corporation may be a viable option. Additionally, there are corporations called Limited Liability Company (LLC). You can also form a not for profit, but you must be careful with that and make sure you qualify. The best thing to do is consult with your attorney and accountant to find out which corporation is the best for you. Once you form your corporation, you will need to get a business license, register with the state, and get a bank account.MARKETING YOUR HEADQUARTERSMarketing your headquarters is just as important as everything else. An outside office is a good route to go because it projects professionalism. The first year you will be spending a lot of time PROVING you are a real business. One of the best ways to prove this is to have an office. This avoids the dog barking in the background while on the phone. Additionally, it helps you focus. There is no temptation to throw a load of laundry in! An office is also a great place to meet people. You don’t want to constantly have to meet at a coffee shop. Especially today when you are trying to recruit people, you want to convey professionalism. You don’t need to start off in a fancy office. Some cities offer temporary space. In Chicago, you can get an office for $350-$700 a month that includes 1-3 private offices, a corporate mailing address, a receptionist/company phone #, WIFI, meeting rooms, and a furnished space/kitchen. If a temporary space is not an option in your city, you can also rent a small office. Get inexpensive yet trendy furniture! You can also get a starter internet phone system. If a physical space is absolutely not in the budget, you can get a “Virtual Office.” You can purchase a virtual office as low as $99/month and it provides you with a corporate address, receptionist, meeting rooms, and calls going out appear to come from your company name.MARKETING COLLATERALYou NEED professional marketing materials and business cards. It is essential to find a good designer, but it doesn’t have to be expensive as long as the materials look good. You only need the basics to start out. Most of the time you are producing an e-brochure, e-mail template, and a one-page handout to distribute at trade shows and when visiting clients. Do not make these yourself. Even if you are graphically oriented, you shouldn’t spend time doing this. You need to be on the phone making business calls.Everything you send needs to make a statement and spell “success” with your materials. You need to look like an established company. You will also need a logo. You may want to get a professional to design your logo that costs a little more. This will make a statement about your company and you will have it for a while. Letterhead is optional. Mostly, you probably aren’t sending a lot of letters, but if you plan to send letters you will need letterhead. You will need a proposal template since you will be sending many proposals to clients. Lastly, you absolutely need a website. If you don’t have a website, you aren’t a legitimate business these days. People want to look you up and if they can’t find you on the internet then it is a red flag. Again, do not make the website yourself. You can always tell if it is a self-made website. Two essential items for your website, is an inquiry form and mobile optimization. Your website must be mobile optimized because everyone is searching on their phone.MARKETING TACTICSSimple questions to ask yourself is who are you selling to? Who else is selling to them? What is your focus? Why should a customer choose you? These are basic questions, but you would be surprised how many small business owners can’t give a good answer to these questions.E-mail marketing is important; however, it shouldn’t be your main focus. A very low percentage of e-mails actually get opened due to the mass amounts of e-mails everyone receives daily. Cold calling is a favorite of many. It is essential so you must like to cold call. Always leave a message. Many times, people prefer to call back later, however, leaving a message begins to build that relationship. If they are looking for the solution you offer, who will they call? Mailings are also good to add into you marketing mix to send out a couple of times a year. Jumbo postcards mailings are always a good option. There are many professional postcard companies online that will design the postcard and handle distributing it to your mailing addresses. You always want to follow-up with a phone call to get better results. Trade shows are great to attend, but can get expensive. This is a good way though to get your name out there. Social Media is very important these days. If you don’t know anything about social media, take an online course. Many people are on social media so it is a great way to reach those that are on it. Lastly, referrals/networking is extremely important. Once you start to get customers, you will be able to get referrals. And networking is a great way to meet new people. Always attend events that potential clients may be at.SALESBusiness owners should know how to sell. The most important thing is to believe in your company and be able to sell the concept. You have to know why your product/service is the best and learn how to sell why it’s the best. At the end of the day, customers are buying “YOU.” In most cases, your product is not one of a kind. You need to convince the customer that “YOU” are the one.If you are new and a small company, buying from you is a risk. You have to overcome this your first year. Someone will have to be your first customer. How will you prove that you are not a risk? This is something you need to think about and be ready to answer when you are asked. One way to do this, is say if you work with me, I will be handling your account personally. You want to put together a list of benefits that you being a smaller company will be able to offer verse a large company.SALES CONTRACTOnce you get your first customer, you MUST have a contract. Don’t use your uncle’s attorney who specializes in drawing up wills. You need an attorney who knows your business and specializes in it. Steal a contract template from online that depicts your business and says everything it needs to say. Using an attorney to write up a contract from scratch is extremely expensive and most of the time you can get a better one online anyway. In the sales contract, DO NOT concede on important points. How do you know what the important points are? One way is to ask your attorney. What is it on this contract that I should never modify? One item you will find on most standard contracts is if litigation occurs it goes to the seller’s state. You never want to change this in the contract because if something does come up, you will need to hire an attorney in another state and that can get very expensive. Most people know that it goes to the seller’s state, however, some people will want to change this. You never want to mess with your contract without consulting your attorney. Always remember, do not give away the store. You will always want the business, but it won’t be good if you concede on too many matters. You have to calculate in your business plan and your financial projections what you are going to charge. If you get business that you aren’t going to charge what you need to charge, then you might as well not get it. You need to spend your time on business that will be profitable. ORGANIZATIONS/TRAININGYou need to be in both national and local organizations because it gives you instant credibility. Anyone who is part of a national organization knows you get high-level training and gain industry knowledge. Additionally, you learn about legislation. You need to know the laws. Local organizations accomplish the same, but you get local related industry knowledge and legislation. You can also attend local events verse spending money flying somewhere. Joining both national and local organizations are very important for instant credibility. EMPLOYEESEventually, you are going to need to hire employees. You must have an employee agreement. Again, you can grab a template online and run it by your attorney. When you hire someone, you will need to give them a written offer letter, benefits, and an employee agreement. You will need to figure out how much you will pay your employees and also what benefits you will give them. Being a small business, you may want to give your employees better benefits they can’t get anywhere else so there is an incentive to work for your business. You will also need to figure out working hours and supplies you are going to provide.Additionally, an employee handbook is essential. You can purchase a corporate handbook template and customize it by filling in the blanks. You want to provide all of your employees a copy on their first day and update it each year. The handbook should provide guidelines on all processes and policies, such as a mission statement, vacation/PTO policies, etc. You never want to be unclear with anything. What does a good employee profile look like? You need team players and someone who has a passion for the job. You don’t want someone to drag them self in every day. You also want your employees to be determined and dedicated. If you provide your employees with incentives, they will most likely be dedicated. It is up to YOU to keep your employees motivated. Engaging your employees is important. Talk to them and see what they think about different topics. You also need to align your metrics and have goals for your employees to reach for. Goals help increase employee productivity. It is important to identify and remove internal roadblocks that can harm an employee’s productivity. Training and professional development opportunities are important for your employees. And lastly, you must always remember to focus on your business strategy. You can’t please every market. If a client isn’t the right fit and will cause more stress for everyone at your company, pass the business up.ACCOUNTINGProbably the most boring thing about owning a business is accounting, payroll, taxes, etc. Unless you like these things of course! Unfortunately, if you don’t, you have to think about these things when owning a business.PAYROLLFor payroll, you can hire an outside payroll company, have your accounting firm do it, or do it yourself through a payroll software. You must file your payroll taxes, otherwise you can go to jail. You also want to make sure you avoid high late penalties. The government will charge you if you are late on anything.ACCOUNTS RECEIVABLEMake sure you send out invoices to customers promptly because the sooner you send them out, the sooner the money comes in. Cashflow is extremely important. You have to stay on top of open invoices, even if your accounting firm is doing your invoices, more then likely they are not going to make collection calls. You will also need to send out a statement of account, which is a document that outlines everything the customer owes. When you send this out, people tend to pay quicker because they see all of the money they owe.ACCOUNTS PAYABLEYou must pay your bills promptly in order to secure a good credit rating. You want to have a good credit rating because prospects are going to run a D&B on your company. Get rid of credit cards that you do not use because this can also harm your credit score. Additionally, avoid running up credit card debt. Do not get into debt no matter what. It will kill the business and stress you out.FINANCIALSThere are two very important documents you must have. One, is a balance sheet (assets & liabilities). Assets are cash in the bank, furniture you might have, etc. Liabilities are accounts payable, outstanding loans, collecting 401K from an employee, etc. Second, is an income statement (revenue/expenses/profit.) This would include what your sales and expenses are. You take what you sold, minus expenses, and that is what your profit is. At the end of the year, that profit gets carried over to your balance sheet and becomes part of your owner equity for the next year.It is very important to understand your financials. If you don’t, get a book, attend a seminar, etc. You don’t want to rely on your accountant. You have to be cautious of embezzlement when hiring an outside company so it’s key to understand your financials and be able to notice anything that doesn’t look right.CORPORATE TAX FILINGNever do your corporate tax filing yourself. It is complicated and, more importantly, you will always want an accounting firm to sign off on it.IMPLEMENTATION & SOFTWARE TOOLSIMPLEMENTATIONAt some point, you have to deliver the product/service. If you are a staffing firm and are placing candidates, you have to make sure they stick or you will not get paid. You also need to always provide high quality service. High quality service means repeat business and referrals. This is one way to help grow your company.SOFTWARE TOOLSIf you are a staffing company, you need a database that can manage clients and candidates. Make sure you input all clients, candidates, and follow-ups into the solution. A cloud-based software is the way to go with an easy monthly subscription fee. Training is very important. You need to know how to use your software. If you are going to invest in software, use that tool to help grow your business. It will make processes more efficient. It can also help increase customer service. If someone is out of the office and a question comes in from a client, you can take a look at the notes in the software and see where everything was last left with that client. You don’t need to wait for that person to be back in the office.Once you invest in your software, implement a mandatory use policy for your employees. For this you will need a process handbook. The book defines what you want them to enter and how you want them to enter it. Data not entered leaves when an employee leaves. This is your data, this is your business, you want to keep it in the business. Additionally, with software you can monitor performance and gather important statistics on employee performance and the business. In order to continue to grow your business, you need a way to generate reports and identify what is going well in your business and where you need to improve.AFTER YEAR ONEIn year two, you are going to capitalize on your achievements. You will have customer references to help bring in new business. You are going to be able to invest more in your business. You can invest in more employee training, updating your website, attending an additional trade show, and maybe it is the time to move into your new office! After year one, you want to assess how the first year went and come up with a new business plan for year two. Every year you want to come up with a new business plan. You will want to brainstorm with your team new ideas and make sure everyone is communicating what their plan is for the next year. This helps guarantee there are no inefficiencies and that no one is doing the same work twice. Each year, you will want to continue to hone your skill set and processes. You want to constantly challenge yourself and change your company as the industry changes. You must continue to be passionate about what you are doing. The minute you are no longer passionate, sell the business! ALWAYS continue to dream, but not only dream, but take action and make it happen. Make sure you celebrate success from both a company and employee standpoint. You also have to be willing to take risks if you want your business to be successful, but don’t be reckless. Constantly explore new ways of approaching your business. Know your limits, but never try to stop exceeding them. Lastly, don’t be afraid to let go of low performers. Firing is very painful, but unfortunately it is necessary. Also, don’t be afraid to let go of high performers if they have a bad attitude and are poisoning the environment, they have to go no matter how much money they are making for you. Finally, everyone always sees the end goal, SUCCESS, but there will always be obstacles along the way. Don’t be afraid of failure. You have to fail a number of times in order to be successful.Good luck! Start your journey!

 229.

Crypto currency vs. Fiat currency

 230.
Are you aware of the fiat currencies and the crypto currencies? They both are currencies in one form or the other and are open for public use across the world. But they are both different and distinct in their own ways. There is always one group that favors the use of cryptos, while the other has a soft corner for the fiat currencies.

 231.
In cashless society- crypto money play a huge role

 232.
If you have a look at the market of the 1970s and 1980s, you will find that the cash played the dominant role. But, with the change in the technology, electronic transactions have become the usual norm. Today, more and more people are influenced in becoming the cashless society. With the progress towards the cashless society, cryptocurrencies have a big role to play.

 233.
Crypto currency and fiat currency are always at loggerheads

 234.
Cryptocurrency and fiat currency are popular types of digital currency, especially when it is about an online transaction. They both are currencies currently in use in the market but have some differences in them. There is a hell lot of hypes that you will hear on a daily basis comparing the crypto money and the fiat money. This article will highlight the difference between the two in a more comprehensive and clear manner.

 235.
Differentiating in what the currencies stand for

 236.
Before going for the difference between the two, you must understand what do they stand for and how are they are defined.

 237.
The fiat currency is a legal tender that has the support of the central government, and it operates in the physical form. For instance, US dollars, British Pounds, Euro etc. On the other hand, the crypto currency is a non-legal tender, and doesn’t have any backup from the central government or bank.
238. Hence, the difference between crypto currency and fiat currency is noted as follows:

 239.
• Crypto-currencies are decentralized and global in nature. There are no one entity or government that controls the currency with their laws and regulations. The Fiat currency is centralized, under the control of the laws and regulations of the banks and government.

 240.
• Crypto-currencies have their existence only in the digital domain. On the other hand, you will find that the fiat currencies have a tangible and physical existence.

 241.
• There is a limited supply of crypto-currencies with a maximum set of them getting supplied in the market. Whereas, the fiat money has an unlimited supply as the government and bank are entitled to produce coins and paper money whenever the situation is required.

 242.
• The Bitcoin and other crypto type currencies are created by the computers, while the fiat currencies are issued by the local government and the banks.

 243.
• Cryptocurrencies are presented as the public and private code pieces. On the other hand, the fiat currencies are presented in the form of coins and paper money.

 244.
• The value of the crypto currencies is not recognized by the supply and demand of the market. Whereas, the fiat currency value is determined by the market regulations of supply and demand.

 245.
The different types of crypto and fiat currencies

 246.
In the last one decade, the popularity of crypto type currencies has emerged as a huge success. It was in 2009, when Bitcoin was first introduced, and years after several other types of crypto currencies have emerged. Starting from Litecoin. Dogecoin, Ripple to the Dcash and Zcash, there is a plethora of them. On the other hand, the fiat currency has a rich and ancient roots, with the Great British Pound, that dates back to 775 AD. It is considered as the oldest currency in the world that is still in use.

 247.
The differences in the anonymity between the two currencies

 248.
When you are using the fiat currencies, you need to undergo a user identification or verification process. You are asked to upload a recent picture of yourself and some of the required documents to be issued as per the public authorities. You don’t need to undergo any of the required processes with the crypto currencies. Though your personal information and confidential details don’t get public, but all your transactions are recorded and tracked in both the fiat and the crypto currencies.

 249.
Fiat currency vs crypto currency: transparency level

 250.
• The transparency level with the crypto type currencies are considered to be more. This is because the revenue streams are displayed in a public chain. Everyone can witness their own and others’ transactions.

 251.
• The fiat or govt. currencies are not transparent, as there are not public chains to see the revenue streams of the people.

 252.
A comparative historical roots

 253.
If you compare the crypto money with that of its counterpart, fiat or government currency, you will find that their existence and creation brings the difference. The Fiat or government currency, dates back its existence as early as 775 AD with the introduction of the Great British Pound. This is why fiat type currency is easily accepted by the people all over.

 254.
On the other hand, the crypto coin was perhaps first introduced only a decade ago, with the introduction of Bitcoin in 2009. The challenge that the Bitcoin and other crypto currencies face is catching up with the immense popularity and increasing fan base of the fiat currency. Crypto currency, is no doubt gaining importance and popularity in the economic market, but it has still not been accepted widely in the society as the fiat currency.

 255.
A comparative history of the two currencies:

 256.
• It was in the 11th century, when the Chinese Song dynasty was perhaps the first one to issue the paper money. It was not allowed to exchange with valuables like gold and silver or silk.

 257.
• There were Tally sticks that were introduced as a fiat or government currency. 1100 Tally sticks were introduced as a combat for the shortages in gold.

 258.
• 1971, was the year, when the fiat currency received a worldwide recognition. President Nixon introduced it in order to eliminate the dollar pegging system to gold.

 259.
• It was in 1998, when the idea of an anonymous electronic cash system emerged by Wei Dai. Bitgold-the very first crypto currency was created by Nick Szabo, but it didn’t receive as much attention as Bitcoin.

 260.
• In 2009, Bitcoin was introduced in the market, that became the first crypto currency that was accepted across the globe. In 2011 and after, a series of several other crypto currencies were introduced. Some of the popular ones include, Litecoin, Dogecoin, Ethereum, Ripple, Zcash, Dash and so on.

 261.
The traits of both the currencies

 262.
The potential of the crypto type currencies and fiat currencies, accessing their traits is important. You will find that in some of the criteria, Bitcoin and other crypto currency is superior than the fiat or government currency, and in some cases, the latter surpasses. It is absolutely your call to choose the type of currency (crypto type currency or fiat type currency) based on your personal needs and requirements.

 263.
Let us compare their traits with respect to certain factors.

 264.
• Both the crypto coins and fiat type currencies are interchangeable in nature.

 265.
• As per the portability is concerned both the currencies secure more or less the same position.

 266.
• With respect to the non consumable criteria, crypto currency and fiat type currency have the equal status.

 267.
• Crypto type currencies have high durability as compared to the fiat-currencies that have moderate level of durability.

 268.
• Both the crypto or virtual currencies and the fiat or government currencies ensure secure and safeguarded transactions and exchange.

 269.
• Crypto or digital currencies are highly divisible in nature. On the other hand, the fiat type currencies are moderately divisible.

 270.
• In terms of the transaction process, the crypto currencies are easy and hassle free. Whereas, on the other hand, the traction process associated with the fiat currencies are easy, but not like the cryptos.

 271.
• The crypto based currencies are decentralized and global in nature, unlike the fiat currencies that are centralized and functions under the laws and regulations of the government.

 272.
• The crypto based currencies have high scarcity, where as, the fiat currencies are unlimited as the government can issue coins and paper money whenever there is a need.

 273.
• The crypto based currencies are based on mathematical algorithms, and are programmable. The fiat currencies are not at all programmable.

 274.
• The fiat currencies are sovereign in nature, while the crypto currencies are not.

 275.
The process of the functioning of the currencies

 276.
You can find the significant differences between the crypto or digital currencies and the fiat currencies with the way they both operate and the transaction process that take place. They are contrasting in nature. The transfer of money using the Bitcoin is very quick, and you absolutely don’t need any third party association.

 277.
On the other hand, if you are involved with the money exchange using Fiat type currency, a mobile wallet is in use. You can exchange an amount of e-money that gets transferred into the equal e-value amount. Both the fiat and the crypto currencies enable you to purchase everything that you desire. But the processes involved are absolutely distinct from each other.

 278.
Depending on the things you purchase, you will find that one currency form is better than the other. This is absolutely your choice.

 279.
Is Bitcoin, a crypto currency better than the fiat-currency?

 280.
The long term benefits and the capability of the Bitcoins is still not established. But it has been predicted by the crypto currency gurus and experts, that they will go a long way, especially revolutionizing the way the online transactions are done. In the current market, the Bitcoin is mainly included in the online casinos and the gambling, but it is not limited to it.

 281.
Furthermore, when you compare the fiat currencies, the Bitcoin allows you to seize the power and authority from the banks and the government since it is not controlled. The cryptography based currency has the capability to create or come up with the free market capitals. Fiat currencies are affected by the inflation and the changes in the market, unlike the crypto based currencies. Such aspects make individuals believe that cryptograph based currencies will soon take over the mainstream currencies and bring a transformation in the way the money is used.

 282.
Why is Bitcoins considered to be a better aspect than the fiat type currencies?

 283.
• Bitcoin gives you the opportunity to re-create a free market capitalism.

 284.
• The power of controlling the money is absolutely with the individuals, and not with the banks like the fiat type currencies.

 285.
• When there is an inflation, the Bitcoin is not affected. But the Fiat type currency will be easier to lose and get affected by it.

 286.
• The Bitcoin currency is easy easier to exchange and transfer as compared to the fiat or government currencies.

 287.
• The transaction fees involved with the Bitcoin are way cheaper and easily affordable.

 288.
Crypto currencies seem to be a favorable option among the people

 289.
The fiat type currencies are the centralized and legal way of exchanging money. But, the crypto currencies have acquired immense popularity in the past few years. There will never be anyone who would act as a middle man, like the case with the banks. Moreover, the cryptos are way cheaper and less expensive that the conventional fiat currencies.

 290.
Send money anywhere directly without waiting for the bank’s approval

 291.
You can send money to anyone in the world directly, and it is super fast. The money gets cleared within a few minutes time. You don’t have to wait for the traditional clearing and verification processes of the banking systems, which might take up to several days to get a clearance. Since it is decentralized and doesn’t come under the law and regulations of the government, nobody has any power to do anything with your account.

 292.
The blockchain technology has a very big role to play

 293.
Thanks to the crypto currencies, that gives us the power and the authority to become our very own bank, and take control over our finances. It is because of the blockchain technology that offers a higher level of sophistication while dealing with the finances. In fact, there are some mainstream financial industries that have started incorporating the idea of the technology.

 312.

What do you do if you want to learn driving a car? You will try to find an expert teacher, isn’t it? You do not want to avail the services of a novice individual to help you out, but a professional person can provide you the vital tips and most importantly guide you efficiently. Similarly, when it comes to investing in the stock market for the first time, you require a knowledgeable advice to attain your financial goals and get profitable returns.

 313.
If you are a beginner, then it is quite obvious that you may be having no information about the process of buying the right shares in the market. In such a situation, getting the right tips from an experienced financial advisor or a registered advisory company will truly prove to be a great blessing in disguise. However, there are some of the important things that have to be kept in mind while choosing the top stock market advisory company, which are as follows:

 314.
How much assistance do you actually require?

 315.
Before you make up your mind to hire an advisor, it is imperative that you must first decide about the kind of service you require from them. You may need their help at the beginning or during the time of any issues. This is because an advisor has to formulate a map according to your requirements. Hence, it is suggested to ascertain your needs first and then take further action.

 316.
Choose a top ranked advisory company

 317.
It is a very important point that has to be taken into the consideration. Availing services of the well known advisory company or a financial advisor is an absolute necessity. Make it a point to carry out a proper background or research work about the company. Check out their credentials, reputation, experience, etc before hiring them.

 318.
Asking for a sample financial plan initially makes sense

 319.
When hiring a financial advisor, then do not forget to ask for sample plan first. It is imperative to note that there is no such thing called the perfect plan. A sample plan will help you to determine whether an advisory company is actually making sense according your requirements or not.

 320.
Conclusion

 321.
The financial planners or advisory companies can really turn out to be the greatest asset for you if you choose the best one. They are just like the professional sailors who can help you out to sail through stock investment related problems quite efficiently.

 322.
Deepak is a financial advisor who likes to provide quality tips to the people facing any issues with regard to investing in the stock market. He likes to keep himself updated about the stock market by reading articles, news and blogs, etc.

 343.

Greed and Fear.

 344.
Two Emotions that play a bigger factor in the success or failure of humans than any other emotion we experience. Both fear and greed refer to an intrinsic emotional state. Tens of Millions of dollars have been made and lost based on these 2 emotions alone. In trading, in business and in relationships. So why do so many educational courses, stock trading books and online courses avoid this topic all together?

 345.
Perhaps they are not avoiding the topic of emotions, Perhaps by teaching certain methods and skill sets to their readers they are in fact dealing with the emotional side of trading head on!

 346.
It is well known that emotions create a certain amount of pleasure or displeasure. It is also known that emotions are networked with mood, frame of mind, desires and passions. The list goes on… So how do we as individuals develop a skill set to navigate these emotions in business in trading and in life?

 347.
Charles Darwin argued that emotions actually served a purpose for humans and rightfully so, If our emotions have been evolving for over 2 million years. Should we not be using these amazing skills to our advantage rather than placing blame on them for poor decision making? It is my belief the poor decision making has nothing to do with emotions and everything to do with laziness and lack of planning.

 348.
A Lesson From One of the Greats!

 349.
I would be doing my readers a disservice if we did not mention the strategy of Warren Buffett. One of the most successful investors of our time. Warren Buffet stuck to his strategy and profited greatly. Warren Buffett showed us just how important and beneficial it is to stick to a plan. When deciding whether or not to invest in a company himself, Buffett and his partners follow a few simple guidelines, one of which involves trying to determine the company’s longevity.

 350.
As the market becomes overwhelmed with greed, the same can happen with fear. When stocks suffer large losses for a sustained period of time, the overall market can become more fearful of sustaining even further losses. But being too fearful can be a grave mistake. It is precisely at this time successful investors and traders alike make their move. This is where the real money is made.

 351.
Just as greed dominated the recent Cryptocurrency boom or fear dominates the headlines on potential trade war outcomes, investors quickly move around from one “secure” investment to another. It becomes a constant game of cat and mouse.

 352.
This flooding in of money to the stock market shows a complete disregard for many technical indicators that continue to scream a correction is inescapable. Retail Investors seem overjoyed with the flooding in of headlines that read ALL TIME HIGH. Should retail investors be overrun by fear of a major correction?. Granted, losing a large portion of your retirement portfolio’s worth is a tough pill to swallow, but even harder to digest is the possibility of missing out on the massive gains the market is currently offering investors of all experience levels.

 353.
Having a clear understanding of my own personal goals, a understanding of my success and creating a list of my OWN wants and needs rather than taking dreams of others and trying to reach them has been a colossal factor in putting out the greed flame in my own trading and daily decision-making.

 354.
I have also added a link of “Must Read” Books that have been advantageous in my journey of reigning in my emotions on decision-making. I will update this as I see fit..

 355.
One method I have found to be helpful is to be careful on how I measure success, wealth, goals and most importantly happiness. It is far to easy these days to allow outside influences affect our happiness and success. Social media blasts us day in and day out with the success of others.

 374.

Although, we hear, a lot of opinions, about, interest rates, and their trends, and impacts, very few people seem to understand, the significance, and importance/ relevance, of these rates, in several areas of our lives! After, many decades of involvement, in political campaigns, leadership, leadership training/ planning, real estate, financial sales and consulting, etc, I strongly believed, one benefits, by understanding, more about these, and how they affect, many things, in our lives! Whether, related to personal, organizational, and/ or, public finance/ spending, home ownership and related costs, credit – related issues, business matters, stock and bond pricing, etc, interest rates, truly, significantly, matter! With, that in mind, this article will attempt to, briefly, consider, examine, review, and discuss, 5 of these areas, and how the cost – of – money, makes a significant difference.

 375.
1. Bond prices and interest rates: The price of a bond, generally, is inversely – related to interest rates! When these rates go down, prices, rise, and when they go up, the inverse occurs! Bonds have, what is known, as, a par – value, which is the price, paid, at the end of the term. Markets usually set these at 100, which represents $1,000 per bond, at maturity. However, during the period, the pricing can rise or fall, which impacts, liquidity – related issues!

 376.
2. Mortgage rates: For the last few years, we have been witnessing and experiencing, record – low, mortgage interest rates, which have helped the overall, real estate/ housing market, especially, in terms of, pricing increases! In most areas of this country, we are seeing, home prices, at their highest levels, ever, by a significant, dramatic amount! When this rate, is low, a home buyer is able to buy, more – house – for – his – bucks, because, his monthly payments, are so low! Consider, however, what might be the potential ramifications, and impacts, when these rates, will, inevitably, rise?

 377.
3. Consumer credit: Low costs of borrowing, help the automobile industry, in terms of consumer financing, etc! Although, not as much as other vehicles, rates on credit card debt, are lower, and there are often, shorter – term, promotions, offering deals! However, since, most of these are variable, and based, on some index, etc, what happens, when there is an increase, in this?

 378.
4. Business borrowing: Another area affected, is business cost of borrowing! Presently, they have had access, to relatively, cheap – money, which helps in reducing the costs of borrowing, overall operations, purchasing inventory, etc. But, what happens, when this, ticks – up?

 379.
5. Impacts on stock market prices: For some time, because bonds have paid so little, in terms of dividends, etc, many have considered, the stock market, the only game, in – town! In addition, many corporations, have seemed, better – off, than they probably are, and we have witnessed, a higher, ratio of prices to profits, than in the past! How long will this last? How high can it go?

 380.
Many factors impact these issues, especially: actual and/ or, perceived inflation; consumer confidence; politics/ government actions/ the Federal Reserve, etc. The more you know, and understand, hopefully, the better – prepared, you will be!

 397.

Color can be a powerful tool for website design. It can draw attention, convey emotion, inspire an atmosphere of desire, or directing conversation all these and more are accomplished through the clever and well-planned application of color. Similar to layouts and style of your words the color visitors will see on your website will determine the way they feel about it and whether or whether they’ll return.

 398.
What makes color important for Website Design

 399.
Colors can increase the visibility of your brand and can also entice visitors to your website to engage. The impression they form subconsciously about your company could be based on your website’s color scheme. So when a web design firm is first deciding to design your site, they first look at two aspects – the feelings your brand wants to create, and the cultural and philosophical contexts that it would like to be in line with. This is the initial step to choosing the right colors for the design of your website.

 400.
Color Psychology – colors trigger emotions
401. Psychology of color is the term used to describe the impact that color can influence a person’s feelings behaviours, feelings, and moods. Although the rules are not fixed in stone, we are drawn to certain colors because they affect our feelings. The context here is crucial. Red could mean fear and risk to certain people, but enthusiasm and passion to other people. When using colors in web design, it should blend seamlessly with aspects of the website including copy, typography, and images.

 402.
Below are some colors and the emotions they bring. While they aren’t fixed in stone, these are generalizations and can have an impact on the people who are watching. This will help you determine the color of your choice in accordance with how you would like your viewers to feel and the actions you would like them to do.

 403.
• Red Power, Love passion, danger exhilaration

 404.
• Orange: fun, warmth, comfort, freedom, playfulness

 405.
• White Peace, Clarity pure, purity, and cleanliness

 406.
• Blue: calm, confidence peace, trust and logic, as well as reliability

 407.
• Purple: luxury, sophistication, mystery, loyalty, creativity

 408.
• Pink: gentleness, sincerity, nurturing, warmth

 409.
• Green: health, nature, prosperity, abundance

 410.
• Brown nature protection, security, support

 411.
• Yellow: happiness, creativity, optimism, friendliness

 412.
• The Black: class, control power, sophistication and depression

 413.
Cultural Context
414. While various colors could have different meanings for individuals, colors can are also associated with cultural significance. In many Western countries, it is believed that black symbolizes mourning and death, while the same color is used in a variety of Eastern nations.

 415.
The color Red is thought to be associated with focus and pressure in Western culture, while many Eastern cultures believe it is associated with luck. It is important to consider the context when making a selection of colors. Most of the time, you’ll prefer to select the colors of your company based on the audience you want to reach. Based on the location where your market is located the colors displayed on your site could convey significant messages in different ways.

 416.
However, it’s not always the case particularly when it comes to massive and well-known brands that have images already embedded in our consciousness. The red color of Coca-Cola or KFC, for example, will typically have no negative associations anymore, considering the extent to which well-known and loved they are.

 417.
The Basics of Color Theory

 418.
Theory of Color is an established set of rules that can be helpful in understanding and creating complementary colors and combinations. These basic principles can assist you in creating a color colour scheme that is appropriate to your company’s specific requirements.

 419.
Primary Colors: They are three in total – blue, red and yellow.

 420.
Secondary Colors: These colors are created using primary color combinations like the green (yellow and blue) and orange (yellow and red) along with purple (blue plus red).

 421.
Tertiary Colors: These are colors made by mixing primary with secondary color.

 422.
Shades, Tints Tones: The colors listed above are referred to by some as “pure shades”. But, these colors can be used to create other colors. Tints are created by adding white to pure colors, which makes them less intense and lighter. Shades are created by adding a lack and making them heavier and more powerful. It is possible to use white and black in different levels to create tones using pure hues.

 423.
Contrast: Contrast is the perception of the difference between two hues when put next to each other. The greater the contrast, the more the two colours stand out from one another. This is a crucial idea since different levels of contrast can make an entirely different look to your site. A text that is colored and placed with a background that is low in contrast could cause issues with reading. Contrast may also make certain elements stand out (or even deflect attention from particular elements when used effectively) in your website and can make them stand out visually.

 424.
Color Models

 425.
When designing graphic designs, color is defined using color models. This is due to the fact that it is possible to find millions of different colors and it’s impossible to list every single one. The standards were developed to allow us to easily define colors by using numbers.

 426.
RGB Model: The model that is used when working with designs on the screen. RGB refers to Red as well as Green and Blue. The three colors are assigned a value of zero to 255, and the different combinations give us different shades. The colors are typically displayed as color codes, six-digit hexadecimal code numbers. It’s an “additive” color model.

 427.
CMYK Model: This model is utilized to print for printing purposes. It is a combination of Cyan, Magenta, Yellow and Black Each color is described using its proportion of these colors. It is a “subtractive” colour model.

 428.
the LAB Model: The word LAB means lightness, A channel as well as B channel. It’s a more complicated model. It includes the lightness factor, which is a range of zero to 100, an A component that is located on the red-green axis, and a B component that is located on the blue and yellow axis. This means that the color description is more akin to human perception when compared to RGB and CMYK models.

 429.
Making Color Palettes

 430.
The first color you select for your website is the primary color of your company’s branding (Red is the color of Coca Cola, for example). Following that, you build your color palette with the colors that complement the base color. This is the time when the color wheel is used.

 431.
Color Wheel: A color wheel can be described as an instrument that is used to illustrate the connection between different colors. It’s basically an abstract drawing that arranges different hues of color within a circle.

 432.
With the aid of a color wheel, you have are five primary types of color palettes you can make with the help of color wheel

To prevent an uninteresting look it’s beneficial to add different colors, or even complimentary elements to your website.

 435.
The HTML0 Triad Palette – This palette is composed of three colors, which are evenly spaced from each other on the wheel of color. This method should be employed with care, and not only to select colours that go well with each other and blend well but also to utilize the colors in a way that doesn’t appear too cluttered and loud.

 436.
Complementary Palette: The Complementary palette is made up of colors that are on opposite sides of the spectrum of colors. This is a great way to create striking art designs that attract attention to certain parts of your site.

 437.
Split-complementary Palette: The palette is similar to complement palettes, but it has another color placed beside one of the colors that complement each other on the wheel of color. If used correctly this design can be effective in creating a natural appearance without too much sound.
