80.

 81.
Introduction

 82.
In the ever-evolving world of personal finance, credit card balance transfer offers have become a popular way for individuals to manage their debts and save money. These offers allow you to transfer your existing credit card balance to a new card with a lower interest rate or even a 0% introductory APR. In this article, we will explore the benefits of balance transfer offers, discuss how they work, and provide tips for making the most of these offers in 2023.

 83.
Understanding Balance Transfer Offers

 84.
A balance transfer offer involves moving your existing credit card debt to a new card, often with a lower interest rate. This can help you save money on interest payments and potentially pay off your debt faster. Balance transfer offers typically come with a promotional period during which you enjoy a reduced or 0% APR. However, it is important to note that these offers may have certain terms and conditions, such as a transfer fee or a time limit for the promotional rate.

 85.
Benefits of Balance Transfer Offers

 86.
There are several advantages to taking advantage of balance transfer offers:

 87.
1. Lower Interest Rates: By transferring your balance to a card with a lower interest rate, you can reduce the amount of interest you pay each month.

 88.
2. Debt Consolidation: If you have multiple credit cards with outstanding balances, a balance transfer offer allows you to consolidate your debts into one card, making it easier to manage your finances.

 89.
3. Savings on Interest Payments: With a 0% introductory APR, you can save a significant amount on interest payments, especially if you are able to pay off the balance within the promotional period.

 90.
Choosing the Right Balance Transfer Offer

 91.
When selecting a balance transfer offer in 2023, it is essential to consider the following factors:

 92.
1. Transfer Fee: Some balance transfer offers come with a fee, typically a percentage of the transferred amount. Consider whether the fee outweighs the potential interest savings.

 93.
2. Promotional Period: Check the length of the promotional period and ensure it gives you enough time to pay off your balance without incurring interest charges.

 94.
3. Regular APR: Once the promotional period ends, the card will revert to a regular interest rate. Compare the regular APRs of different offers to choose the most favorable option.

 95.
Tips for Maximizing Balance Transfer Offers

 96.
To make the most of your balance transfer offer, consider the following strategies:

 97.
1. Pay Attention to the Fine Print: Read the terms and conditions carefully to understand any fees, restrictions, or limitations that may apply.

 98.
2. Create a Repayment Plan: Develop a realistic plan to pay off your balance within the promotional period. Set a budget and make regular payments to avoid any surprises when the promotional rate ends.

 99.
3. Avoid New Purchases: While your transferred balance may enjoy a promotional rate, any new purchases on the card may accrue interest immediately. Focus on paying off the transferred balance before making new charges.

 100.
Conclusion

 101.
Credit card balance transfer offers can be a valuable tool for managing debt and saving money. By understanding how these offers work and considering the factors mentioned above, you can choose the right offer for your financial situation in 2023. Remember to read the fine print, create a repayment plan, and avoid new purchases to make the most of your balance transfer offer. With careful planning and discipline, you can take control of your finances and work towards a debt-free future.

 122.
Understanding the Importance of Health Insurance

 123.
Health insurance is a vital aspect of personal financial planning. It provides coverage for medical expenses and helps individuals and families manage healthcare costs. With the rising cost of medical treatments, having health insurance is essential to protect yourself and your loved ones from unexpected healthcare expenses.

 124.
Types of Health Insurance Coverage

 125.
There are several types of health insurance coverage options available in the market. Understanding these options can help you make an informed decision about the type of coverage that suits your needs.

 126.
1. Employer-Sponsored Health Insurance

 127.
Many individuals receive health insurance coverage through their employers. Employer-sponsored health insurance plans often offer comprehensive coverage at a subsidized cost, making it a popular choice for many people.

 128.
2. Individual Health Insurance

 129.
If you don’t have access to employer-sponsored health insurance or are self-employed, you can purchase individual health insurance plans. These plans are available through private insurance companies and offer a range of coverage options.

 130.
3. Medicaid and Medicare

 131.
Medicaid and Medicare are government-funded health insurance programs that provide coverage to specific groups of individuals. Medicaid is designed for low-income individuals and families, while Medicare is primarily for people aged 65 and older.

 132.
4. Health Savings Accounts (HSAs)

 133.
Health Savings Accounts (HSAs) are another option for health insurance coverage. HSAs allow individuals to save money for medical expenses on a tax-free basis. These accounts are paired with high-deductible health insurance plans and offer flexibility in managing healthcare costs.

 134.
5. Catastrophic Health Insurance

 135.
Catastrophic health insurance is designed to provide coverage for major medical expenses. It typically has lower monthly premiums but higher deductibles, making it suitable for individuals who are generally healthy and don’t require frequent medical care.

 136.
Choosing the Right Health Insurance Coverage

 137.
When selecting health insurance coverage, it’s essential to consider your specific healthcare needs, budget, and preferences. Here are a few factors to keep in mind:

 138.
1. Coverage and Benefits

 139.
Review the coverage details and benefits offered by different plans. Consider your medical history, existing conditions, and anticipated healthcare needs to ensure the coverage meets your requirements.

 140.
2. Network of Providers

 141.
Check if the health insurance plan has a network of healthcare providers that you prefer or if it allows you to see specialists without referrals.

 142.
3. Cost and Affordability

 143.
Compare the premiums, deductibles, and co-pays of different plans to find an option that fits your budget. Don’t forget to consider the total cost of coverage, including out-of-pocket expenses.

 144.
4. Additional Services and Programs

 145.
Some health insurance plans offer additional services like telemedicine, wellness programs, or prescription drug coverage. Evaluate these extras to determine their value and relevance to your healthcare needs.

 146.
Conclusion

 147.
Health insurance coverage is essential for protecting yourself and your family from unexpected medical expenses. Understanding the available options and choosing the right coverage based on your needs, budget, and preferences is crucial. Take the time to research and compare different plans to make an informed decision that provides peace of mind and financial security.

 166.

You have been told you have bad credit, but what does that
167. mean?
168. Most people think it’s, ‘I won’t be able to get a mortgage,
169. car loan, credit card or bank account for the foreseeable
170. future’. But bad credit doesn’t have to mean the end to
171. your financial future; there are many companies and lenders
172. that will take on people who have had credit problems and
173. without taking all your income in payment. If you have been made bankrupt, had property repossessed
174. or defaulted on a loan there will be someone who is
175. prepared to consider you for credit.
176. What you have to understand is the mainstream lenders will
177. not be offering you credit at the normal rate, you will
178. have to use specialist lenders who are used to assessing
179. bad credit and offering a suitable product to fit your
180. circumstances.Having said that many people atomically think they have a
181. worst credit history than is actually the case and that it
182. is not worth talking to the mainstream lenders. In the past
183. this was probably the case but in the last 5 years many
184. ‘ordinary’ lenders are prepared to take on borrows who have
185. had only minor credit problems so it’s worth asking!WARNING – If you are searching around for new credit after
186. having bad credit, do not let the lenders do multiple
187. credit searches. If you have lots of new credit searches
188. done your credit report will show these and it can affect
189. your credit score making the situation worst.
190. What you need to ask for is a quotation based on your
191. credit history and not a search. For more details of ‘footprints’ left by credit search see
192. my other article;
193. ‘How to understand you credit report or Credit repair – a
194. step by step guide’.If your bad credit history is not too serious many brokers
195. and lenders operate a cascading system to find the product
196. to fit your credit history without going straight to a high
197. charging product from the start.
198. The way the cascading system works is the lender will try
199. and get your bad credit history to fit there main product
200. and then move down through their adverse credit products
201. until their product fits your credit circumstances. This is
202. especially good for mortgage products as it saves having to
203. pay more for your mortgage than necessary.Who ever you get to provide you with a bad credit loan you
204. will almost certainly have to pay a higher rate than you
205. would with a standard credit history. This is to be
206. expected as lenders always assess people for the level of
207. risk of the loan not being repaid. This is what they use
208. your credit report for and what gives you the ‘bad credit’
209. history.
210. For more details see; ‘Credit Report – Your most valuable
211. financial asset’Lenders also base their rates on whether the bad credit
212. loan will be ‘secured or unsecured’. If the loan is secured
213. they will require you have an asset that they have a charge
214. over which they can use to sell and repay the loan if you
215. default. Typically the asset would be property but it
216. doesn’t always have to be.
217. Unsecured means you have no asset that can be used to
218. offset the loan if you default and so tend to have higher
219. interest rates reflected by the higher risk to the lender.
220. Sometimes you can have a guarantor for the loan which
221. reduces the lenders risk and so means lower interest rates
222. charged.
223. A guarantor is someone who agrees to cover your loan and
224. would become liable if you were to default on the loan
225. agreement. Family members can often be used as guarantors. When agreeing to new credit don’t just take the first
226. offer you’re given as lenders are more flexible on bad
227. credit than they ever use to be.
228. You need to be checking what interest rate you are being
229. charged and for how long the rate will apply. Also be
230. careful of any conditions applied to the credit loan i.e.
231. what happens if you want to pay extra off the loan or get
232. out. Check the charge for setting up the loan as this is
233. often added to the loan so tends to get glossed over but
234. you still have to end up paying it back. One reason for checking the get out clause for the loan
235. is because as you repay your new loan and hopefully
236. everything goes well and you maintain the payments as
237. agreed, you are rebuilding your credit history. After a
238. couple of years you may well be able to apply for a new
239. loan using your improved credit score to a lender that
240. would not charge such a high rate of interest. You would
241. then be able to pay off the old loan which is charging a
242. high rate of interest and move it to the new lender at a
243. new lower rate. This will then reduce your monthly
244. outgoings on payments. This may not be financially viable
245. if your existing loan has high redemption penalties if you
246. pay it off early, so check first. You have bad credit but why? There are a number of reasons
247. and I have already highlighted the main reasons, bankruptcy,
248. repossession, defaults etc but to a lot of people bad
249. credit come as a surprise. The first they know about a
250. credit problem is when they try and get new credit and are
251. refused.
252. A number of small things can add up to you having a bad
253. credit history;Your debt to loan ratio – this may be high due to you
254. borrowing at or near the credit limit agreed for the
255. account. Lenders look at this and may feel you are
256. overstretched.
257. A credit problem has wrongly been entered on your credit
258. report -you need to check your credit report for accuracy.
259. Your employment history – if you are new in a job on
260. temporary contract or self employed lenders may feel that
261. you may loose your income and not be able to repay the
262. loan.
263. How recent loans have been handled tends to be more
264. important than older problems. If you have had no credit
265. problems in the past but suddenly there have been missed
266. payments this can have a major effect on your credit
267. score.
268. Not being registered at your current address – if you
269. have recently moved or move around a lot and the lender
270. cannot trace you to a known address they will be reluctant
271. to lend. Make sure you get registered to your current
272. address. As separate things these may not be a problem but added
273. together they can lead to a bad credit situation. Lenders
274. usually use a credit scoring system which gives each area
275. of your financial situation a score and then make a
276. decision based on the total score.
277. The first stop with any bad credit problem is to get your
278. credit report and check what is recorded in it. Quite often
279. people find things are recorded on their credit file that
280. they knew nothing about and that is what is causing the
281. problem. By getting this sorted out they no longer have a
282. bad credit problem.

 298.

I love to cook for my family as much as I can. I like to watch cooking shows and try out new recipes all the time. I am only able to do this by using gadgets, utensils, and tools around the kitchen that help save time and effort. I can’t believe how many gadgets we use in the kitchen. Let me walk you through a typical day in my kitchen, the most popular room in my house, and show you the “Must Have” kitchen gadgets at my house. The first thing I do in the morning is I make coffee. I must have a coffee grinder and espresso/ drip coffee pot. Sometimes your coffee just needs to be a little stronger, and it is great to have the option of coffee or espresso. I like to grind my own coffee beans; it seems to taste better than using already ground coffee.Once I have my coffee brewing I am off to put something into the toaster oven. You can really make a lot of great breakfast items quickly with a toaster oven, everything from toast and bagels to eggs and bacon or sausage. For an afternoon snack I usually cut up some fresh fruit using a cutting board, knife, and/ or apple corer. Sometimes I’ll use the fresh fruit in smoothies using a blender. These are great on hot days. For lunch I often find myself using the microwave. It’s leftovers, soup, or a quick microwave meal. If I am making soup I also need a can opener. I just use a hand held can opener, but it is still one of the many kitchen gadgets that I must have in my home because I use it so often. For dinner there is a plethora of tools and utensils being used including pots and pans, graters, strainers, spatulas, pizza cutters, cutlery, mixers, and ladles to name a few. Not to say that you will use all these items in the same night, but we vary our dinner routine the most and this is when I use the most gadgets. Dinner time is also when I try out most of those new recipes. So far I have mentioned about 15 kitchen gadgets that I must have in my home. They all help make cooking in my house easier. There are still some things that I want to get, like a griddle and a wok for starters. Unfortunately I don’t have a big enough kitchen right now to accommodate all of the kitchen gadgets that I would like to have. It takes a little while to accumulate all the gadgets that we have in our kitchens, but worth the investment most of the time!

 314.

If you are looking to sell structured settlement payments, now is a great time to do it. You now have access to a nationwide pool of experienced, professional note buyers thanks to the Internet, and the increased competition means higher cash payouts for you.A structured settlement is essentially a financial arrangement set up for victims of injury cases whereby they receive monthly payments (annuities) to cover damages, loss, medical expenses, etc. As opposed to a lump sum payment, the claimant receives a set amount each month for a specified period of time. This payment is tax free, and usually works out favorably for both parties….the victim has a steady, tax-free income source to cover bills and the defendant doesn’t have to pay out a huge amount up front. However, many people would prefer to have a large payment now rather than smaller payments spread out over a period of years, and therefore look to sell structured settlements. You see this quite often with lottery winners who opt to take a lump sum rather than monthly payments, even though it works out to less money that their total winnings.Unlike with the lottery, though, you can’t ask the defendant to pay you upfront instead. It doesn’t work like that and almost all defendants/insurance companies would prefer to set up a more palatable monthly financial arrangement so they are not out of pocket a large sum of money. For this reason, you may want to sell your structured settlement annuity in its entirety or just a portion of the instrument.Of course, just like with the lottery payment, you will not get the full amount of your settlement from the buyer. Keep in mind that he or she is assuming the risk that comes with your note, and also has to take into account inflation and other factors. So it has to make financial sense for them as well. When you sell structured settlement payments it offers many benefits to you. For one, you are receiving a guaranteed amount of money right away, rather than waiting on much smaller monthly payments and hoping the payor doesn’t default. Along those lines, another benefit is the peace of mind that comes with no longer assuming the risk that comes with any debt instrument. You just never know what the future holds, so why not sell structured settlements now and be 100% sure to receive money. There are many options when it comes to selling your structured settlement and a qualified note buyer will spell them all out for you. Find someone with experience and a good reputation and figure out what will work best for your particular financial situation.

 362.

Business owners are hard-working and dedicated. They put in probably sixty plus hours a week. It is natural that they want to get paid for their time that they pour into their small business. Unfortunately, if it is a new start-up company, it probably isn’t making enough income yet to see a payday. If the business has been in operation for a while though, the bank balance might be increasing each month as profits start to accumulate. So, how do business owners get paid? Are they considered employees?Well, the answer to the question above is – it depends. Clear as mud, right? It all depends on how the small business is legally setup and recognized by the Internal Revenue Service. Most businesses that are relatively new are small enough that they are operating as sole proprietors or as a partner in a partnership. That means that they haven’t incorporated under state law. There is good and bad news when a small business is operating as a sole proprietor or a partner:

 363.
The good news is that payday for the business owner can be any day they feel like paying themselves as long as there is enough money in the bank. They just simply write themselves a check. They aren’t considered an “employee”, because they are a “one-man-show” running the business. The Internal Revenue Service sees the owner and the small business as one entity.

 364.
The bad news is that they are not recognized as an employee and no federal taxes are being withheld from their pay. So when April 15th comes around and it is time to file the income tax return, the owner may owe quite a bit of self-employment tax on the profits of the business. That is why owners should pay quarterly self-employment taxes throughout the year if they think they are going to owe at least $400 or more in tax.
365. If the small business is recognized as a corporation or S corporation, it needs to set the owner up as an employee of the company and pay them a set salary or wage that is similar to what other organizations pay a person with the same skills. Payroll taxes will be withheld from the owner’s pay just like any other employee. As an S corporation, the owner can also make draws or distributions if the business is making a profit, but no tax is withheld from these payments and it is best to talk with a tax advisor before doing so. There are limitations as to the amounts that can be taken out of the business account in this manner.Hopefully this has answered the question of “How do I pay myself?” It can be tricky determining what the rules are regarding paying the owner of a small business. Consulting with a Certified Public Accountant is always a wise decision when setting up procedures for the organization.

 380.

There is an underutilized, and often overlooked marketing resource in your organization right now: your employees. Each time a customer interacts with your organization there’s an opportunity to build your brand through your employees. The experience your employees deliver to your customers will determine the ongoing perception, and reputation of the brand.Internal brand engagement is a simple, cost-effective strategy that will help take your organization to new levels of success. Employees who are truly engaged with a brand can create significant financial returns for their organization.Your Employees Are Your BrandMost organizations fail to recognize the role employees’ play in building a brand’s reputation. Employees interact at personal and professional levels each day with current, as well as potential customers. Each interaction is either a positive, or a negative representation of your organization, and your brand.Every employee (not just customer-facing) plays an important role in supporting, and building a brand. For example, an administrative assistant might provide support to an entire product development team working on the release of a new product. The support provided by the administrative assistant allows the product development team to focus on creating a cutting-edge product that will deliver on the brand’s promise. Most employees don’t realize the effect, and the impact they have on building brand equity because they are rarely given the chance to get involved with that part of the business. Brands are not just the responsibility of marketing departments; the responsibly and accountability of building and supporting a brand should integrated throughout every part of an organization.Build A Brand-Centric OrganizationSo how do you go about building a brand-centric organization? Create a “brand academy” or a similar type of group that has the responsibility to ensure that every employee receives initial, as well as ongoing education as your brand evolves and grows over time. The brand should be linked to job descriptions, training programs, meetings and events. Anyone who represents your organization should be required to participate in some type of brand education program.Employees should read, see, feel, or hear something each day that represents your brand’s values, goals, and promise that will help to keep their connection, and their shared responsibility to be an owner, and ambassador. Immersion is key to creating a brand-centric culture.Brand education helps employees understand and connect with your organization’s vision and goals. When employees understand and connect to a brand’s goals, personality, and promise, they become brand ambassadors.Ambassadors help build your brand each day through their work and interactions. Your employees become a major part of your marketing resources by delivering relevant brand-centric experiences (internal and external) that help to build brand equity, and customer loyalty. How To Develop Brand AmbassadorsThere are several steps you can take to begin building a team of ambassadors:1. Develop an awareness / education programBrand engagement does not magically happen, and it’s more than handing out “logo swag.” An effective education program goes into detail about the brand’s positioning statement, values, goals and personality with emphasis on the benefit/promise. Employees can’t deliver on the brand’s promise if they don’t know what it is, and how to deliver it through their work each day.The training program should include tangible examples of how each employee group helps to deliver on the brand’s promise, and how their work contributes to the brand’s success. Again, each employee plays an important role in either providing direct support to a customer-facing team, or they are in contact with customers each day.For customer-facing teams it’s critical to define the desired customer experience, and design the customer experience around the brand. The brand makes the promise, and the customer experience delivers the promise. A well-designed customer experience always supports, and delivers the brand’s promise in each customer interaction.2. Create a Brand-Centric Employee ExperienceYou should deliver your brand promise to your employees as well. The employee experience will have a direct affect on your customers’ experience, and should be directly connected to your employee experience strategy for continuity, and consistency. Designing and delivering an on-brand employee experience is an effective strategy to help build morale and motivation, as well as improve employee retention. The ResultYour employees will work with a renewed sense of purpose and meaning, and the result is a more vibrant, educated, and motivated workforce that will bring positive results to your bottom line.
