“Let me tell you, I know for a fact documents are being suppressed. And they’re being suppressed to protect the individuals. I know the names of the individuals. I know why they’re being suppressed. I know who’s suppressing them. But I’m bound by confidentiality from a judge and cases, and I can’t disclose what I know. But I – hand to God, I know the names of people whose files are being suppressed in order to protect them, and that’s wrong.”
SPICER: Just out of curiosity, without names, are these politicians, business leaders, both?
DERSHOWITZ: They’re everything, and look – let me tell you… a lot of them are – at least one of them is somebody who was accused. Others are accusers, and the judges have said – if somebody calls themselves a victim, we’re not going to give any information about them – but they may not be victims, they may be perpetrators. So we don’t have information about false accusers. We know there have been many false accusers who have accused innocent people for money, and those records are being deliberately, willfully suppressed – and they shouldn’t be suppressed. If the accusation is allowed out, so should the material that diminishes the credibility of the accuser. We want total transparency on this. Every single document. No redactions. That’s what I’ve said from day one… I waive any of my rights to privacy, anything there is about me, I’m happy because it will be exculpatory.”

Bats are natural reservoirs for a wide range of microorganisms, including some that have previously been transmitted to humans.
The Nipah virus is carried by fruit bats (Rousettus leschenaulti) and can be transmitted to humans if they live in close proximity, being transmitted through their droppings and saliva. The virus belongs to the same viral <a href="https://www.shtfplan.com/headline-news/vaccination-pleas-increase-as-measles-outbreak-spreads" target="_blank" rel="noopener">family as measles,</a> making it highly contagious,<a href="https://www.dailymail.co.uk/health/article-14888435/Teenager-dies-brain-swelling-bat-virus-India-officials-confirm-second-pandemic.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener"> according to a report by The Guardian. </a>
In 2018, India experienced an outbreak of Nipah, which sparked global concern. Outbreaks of the virus occur annually in Asia, including Bangladesh and India.

The anonymous woman experienced horrific symptoms. She suffered from acute encephalitis syndrome (AES), which is inflammation of the brain. This is often accompanied by an onset of fever and neurological symptoms. The woman is still alive and is undergoing treatment at the private hospital in Perinthalmanna.
So far, 425 people across three districts have been identified as contacts of the two women, and they all may have come into contact with her at a social event. Of these people, 12 in Malappuram are receiving treatment, including five in intensive care. <a href="https://www.cdc.gov/nipah-virus/about/index.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Health authorities are still awaiting full test results</a> to determine the number of people who may be infected.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said that around 40%–70% of people who contract Nipah will die.
Nipah was first discovered in 1999 following an outbreak in pigs and people in Malaysia and Singapore. Three hundred people got sick, and more than one hundred of those people died. In this first outbreak, bats initially spread the Nipah virus to pigs. People who worked closely with the infected pigs also became ill, <a href="https://www.cdc.gov/nipah-virus/about/index.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">according to the CDC’s website. </a>

Even while the search for missing people in flood-ravaged Texas continues, the politicized invective has come from the Left. Propst—a Houston-based pediatrician who mocked the victims and their families because she perceived some of them might have voted for Donald Trump. Propst—who was fired by her employer—<a href="https://www.livemint.com/news/us-news/texas-doctor-terminated-after-mocking-flood-victims-as-trump-supporters-may-they-get-what-they-voted-for-11751894997045.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">posted</a> on Facebook:

Sade Perkins—who had been appointed to her position by Houston’s former mayor—<a href="https://www.wwlp.com/news/whitmire-calls-out-former-city-employee-for-deeply-inappropriate-online-posts/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">posted</a> the following quote on social media:
<blockquote>I know I’m going to get cancelled for this, but Camp Mystic is a white-only girls’ Christian camp. They don’t even have a token Asian. They don’t have a token Black person. It’s an all-white, white-only conservative Christian camp. If you ain’t white you ain’t right, you ain’t gettin’ in, you ain’t goin’. Period.</blockquote>
(Actually, a look at the Camp Mystic <a href="https://www.campmystic.com/directors-staff/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">website</a> shows that the camp has black camp counselors, and counselors often are drawn from former campers. No doubt, when the camp was founded 99 years ago, it would have been all-white, but the camp has changed with the times, as one would expect.)
Besides cheering on the multitude of deaths, others on the Left blamed the Trump administration, claiming that recent cuts in National Weather Service staff left people vulnerable to the floods by not giving them enough warning, something Connor O’Keeffe <a href="https://mises.org/mises-wire/texas-floods-and-political-opportunism" target="_blank" rel="noopener">covered</a> in a recent article. All of this leads to the question of why people are politicizing natural disasters, and the politicization is not limited to the Left. For example, during the Los Angeles wildfires early this year, many conservatives <a href="https://www.politico.com/news/2025/01/15/republicans-dei-la-fires-00198551" target="_blank" rel="noopener">blamed</a> DEI for the carnage without taking into account the many factors that led to the out-of-control fires in the first place.
In the past, political accusations were made about the government’s response to the natural disaster once it happened. In August 1992, during the presidential campaign, Hurricane Andrew, the “<a href="https://www.weather.gov/mfl/andrew" target="_blank" rel="noopener">strongest</a> and most devastating hurricane on record to hit South Florida,” Democratic Candidate Bill Clinton immediately <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/1992/08/30/us/1992-campaign-democrats-clinton-calls-for-inquiry-into-delays-storm-relief.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">accused</a> the George H.W. Bush administration of malfeasance by not doing enough to help Andrew’s victims. Given that the federal government’s emergency agency, FEMA, was not set up to do mass relief, one can imagine the confusion that followed the Bush administration’s attempts to provide relief. Clinton, not surprisingly, won Florida and the presidential election.
(James Bovard, in his book about the Clinton years, <a href="https://www.amazon.com/Feeling-Your-Pain-Government-Clinton-Gore/dp/0312230826/ref=cm_cr_arp_d_product_top?ie=UTF8" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Feeling Your Pain</a>, devotes a chapter to how Clinton used FEMA to score political points and to buy votes. If there is ground zero for politicizing natural disasters, it would be the Clinton presidency.)
When Hurricane Katrina slammed into New Orleans and other Gulf Coast cities and communities, the public had come to believe that the federal government—and only the federal government—could rescue an entire city and its inhabitants. The efforts of the George W. Bush administration would never have been successful even had FEMA done everything right, as the task was too large for a single government agency. However, even by the Bush administration’s low standards, the response to Katrina was <a href="https://www.usnews.com/news/the-report/articles/2015/08/28/hurricane-katrina-was-the-beginning-of-the-end-for-george-w-bush" target="_blank" rel="noopener">abysmal</a> and destroyed President Bush’s political reputation.
But Katrina unleashed another kind of political infestation dealing with natural disasters: the role of climate change. While he didn’t directly claim Katrina was the result of global warming, former Vice-President Al Gore <a href="https://skepticalscience.com/did-global-warming-cause-hurricane-katrina.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">intimated</a> it was in his documentary, “An Inconvenient Truth.” The introduction of climate change into American politics has been the catalyst in the modern politicization of natural disasters, and especially weather events.
Accompanying the modern doctrines of climate change is the underlying belief that there is a state solution to this supposed problem. Furthermore, every major weather event—from the flooding in Western North Carolina and East Tennessee last year to the deadly flooding on the Guadalupe River in Texas—is claimed to be the result of climate change, so those who might question this narrative are deemed responsible for it happening.
As one who has followed every US presidential election since 1960, there was a time when someone running for president and promising to create conditions conducive to creating better weather would have been laughed off the podium. Today, (as we saw with Christina B. Propst’s unfortunate social media post) those who might support political candidates who show some skepticism about the apocalyptic claims made by environmentalists are worthy of death—and plenty of people will cheer on your demise.
For that matter, climate change is not only blamed for rain-fueled disasters, but also for disasters that occur when there is too little rain, such as last January’s <a href="https://www.npr.org/2025/01/29/nx-s1-5273676/la-fires-climate-change-rainfall-extreme-weather" target="_blank" rel="noopener">wildfires</a> in Los Angeles that devastated whole communities. To doubt the modern culture’s views on climate change is to <a href="https://www.asanet.org/footnotes-article/structure-and-culture-climate-change-denial/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">doubt</a> the efficacy of science itself, according to climate activists. Thus, activists argue, if the earth is warming because of the use of fuels such as oil, natural gas, and coal, then it is up to governments around the world to force the use of technologies that can create electric power without burning fuels, and that requires a political “solution.”
At this point, people who believe such political narratives believe that a vote for candidates who support the use of state power to prohibit the burning of oil, gas, and coal and who want to use government to build and promote alternative energy sources such as wind and solar is also a vote for better weather. One is tempted to say that a vote for pro-alternative energy candidates is a vote against floods, droughts, and wildfires. Likewise, a vote for political candidates who are skeptical of the current climate narratives or who are against using state power to force energy changes are seen as pro-flooding and pro-wildfires, candidates who want people to drown in floods and burn up in wildfires.
Given this set of attitudes, it is not much of a leap from voting for Donald Trump to being responsible for both the flooding and the death toll in Texas. This is not a logical position, by any means, but nonetheless it now is acceptable in many Democratic Party circles and has become virtually an article of religious faith by leftists.
The flash point of this discussion is the Green New Deal, which was the crown jewel in Joe Biden’s policy initiatives. As I noted in an <a href="https://mises.org/mises-wire/whatever-happened-green-new-deal?ref=biztoc.com" target="_blank" rel="noopener">article</a> earlier this year, there is a huge disconnect between the ambitious goals they had to supplant fuel-burning electric power plants and gasoline and diesel-powered vehicles with electric cars and trucks, along with “renewable” energy and the ability to meet these goals. Furthermore, there is <a href="https://news.mongabay.com/2024/12/renewables-wont-save-us-from-climate-catastrophe-experts-warn-what-will/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">no guarantee</a> that making these huge changes will have even an insignificant impact on climate.
To support the Green New Deal, according to the activists, is to want a better earth and fewer floods, hurricanes, and wildfires. However, anyone who might question the efficacy of Biden’s environmental initiatives does so with malice aforethought, as even the act of questioning such things is tantamount to wanting LA to burn down and people to be swept away in floods.
When I taught at Frostburg State University several years ago, one of my colleagues told me that had Gore won the 2000 election, there would have been no Hurricane Katrine because Gore would have stopped global warming which was responsible for the storm. Believing something like this requires either an imagination that most of us don’t have or one simply has become unattached to factual thinking.
But we must remember that millions of people believe something like what my friend said to me. These are people who hold to a faith in the political process that is well beyond the ability of even the best and most level-headed scientists to counter. Once people like Al Gore declared (and got people to believe) that we can reverse climate change by empowering the state to levels well beyond anything we have had in our history, then it was inevitable that even weather events would become grist for the political mill.

South Africa’s vital statistics show an unprecedented rise in deaths in 2021 following the rollout of COVID-19 injections, with a 19.6% increase in deaths compared to 2020.
The increase in deaths occurred across all vaccinated age cohorts except for those under 19 years old, who did not show a distinct death spike after COVID-19 vaccines were rolled out.
The correlation between the ramp-up of COVID-19 “vaccine” dosing and the spike in deaths in 2021 raises concerns about possible vaccine-related toxicity and warrants further examination for causation, Super Sally writes.

The Republic of South Africa has a current <a href="https://www.worldometers.info/world-population/south-africa-population/#google_vignette" target="_blank" rel="noopener">estimated population of 64.7 million</a>. The 2024 mid-year life expectancy at birth was <a href="https://www.mzansimirror.com/life-expectancy-south-africa/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">estimated at 69.2 years for females and 63.6 years for males, with overall life expectancy estimated at </a><a href="https://www.bing.com/ck/a" target="_blank" rel="noopener">66.5 years</a>. Death reports refer to total deaths and natural deaths, with an average of 10.4% of deaths being non-natural (i.e., due to external cause: homicide, suicide, medical error, alcohol intoxication, drug overdose).
I accessed two sources of vital statistics. <a href="https://www.statssa.gov.za/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Statistics South Africa</a> has provided annual birth data to 2023, and annual death data, including by age-breakdowns, up to 2021.
<a href="https://www.samrc.ac.za/research-reports/report-weekly-deaths-south-africa?type=research-report&menu=intramural-research-units&menu-item=burden_of_disease" target="_blank" rel="noopener">South African Medical Research Council</a> (“SAMRC”) provides epidemiological week (“epi week”) death data with estimated weekly deaths from 2015 to 2019, and actual and predicted deaths, with age breakdowns from 2020 to 20241. All figures provided in this report reference the data source. Note that there is expected under registration of death data; however, the data is certainly adequate to show trending over the pandemic years. All data are raw counts for births and deaths with no adjustment for under-registration.

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">COVID-19 Vaccination Rollout in South Africa</h3>
South Africa started its national vaccination programme against COVID-19 on 17 February 2021. Dosing remained at < 1% of the population until 21 May 2021 before administration ramped up. Population uptake increased to 44 doses per 100 people (25.4% of the population) by the end of December 2021. The latest available dosing data showed<a href="https://ourworldindata.org/covid-vaccinations" target="_blank" rel="noopener"> 67 doses per 100 people by September 2023, with some 33.72% of South Africans having been given COVID-19 vaccines</a>.
The COVID-19 vaccination programme started with healthcare and frontline workers and then expanded to those over the age of 60. Vaccines were launched for the education sector on 23 June 2021. Covid-19 vaccines were ultimately offered to all South Africans aged 12 and older. The main vaccines used in South Africa, outside of clinical trials, were Janssen (Johnson & Johnson) and Pfizer-BioNTech. 33.7% of South Africa’s population had taken the primary series of COVID-19 vaccines by the end of 2022.
South Africa’s third wave of COVID-19 deaths exactly matched the ramping up of the COVID-19 vaccine rollout in the second half of 2021.

The annual birth and death data for StatsSA are set out. Births have been steadily declining over time, with a 37% drop between 2004 and 2023. This drop may decrease with the compilation of late-registered births. Deaths show an undulating line, with a sharp rise in deaths in 2020 (+9.8%) and 2021 (+19.6%).

StatsSA provided 5-year age breakdowns of deaths from 2018 – 2020. This shows a decrease in deaths in persons aged 34 and younger in 2020 but an unprecedented rise in deaths across all ages in 2021.

The data plotted by week and year makes the extraordinary deaths in 2020 and 2021 abundantly clear. Total and natural deaths are shown in separate plots. Deaths were far higher in 2021 (+19.6%) following the rollout of covid-19 vaccines than they were in 2020 (+9.8% vs. 2019), which also had unprecedented death levels.

Deaths by age are set out. These figures use both StatsSA and SAMRC age data to show trends since 2015 and up to 2024. While figures don’t exactly match, due to late registrations for StatsSA, the trends agree. Lower than typical deaths in young persons in 2020 and catastrophically higher deaths in 2021. Infant and young child deaths rose above even 2021 levels in 2022, while deaths dropped off in all other age groups.

The following are the epi week natural deaths by age group for 2020 to 2024. The small marker indicates the start of covid-19 vaccination rollouts. The big marker indicates the ramp-up when dosing ramped up and first exceeded 1% of the population. Note that the death spike is broader (more deaths) consecutive with covid-19 vaccine ramp-up up than the first two covid-19 death waves. People up to 19 years of age don’t show the distinct death spike following rollout that is observed among older cohorts.

The correlation between COVID-19 vaccine dosing ramp-up and the extreme spike in deaths in 2021, with a smaller spike extending into 2022, should be examined for causation, particularly in relation to which vaccines were administered when. The extreme peaks in deaths, across all COVID-19 vaccinated ages, raise the spectre of possible vaccine-related toxicity. Similar excess deaths matching the timing of COVID-19 vaccines are apparent in <a href="https://open.substack.com/pub/supersally/p/updated-pandemic-years-response-summary?r=l1r7e&utm_campaign=post&utm_medium=web&showWelcomeOnShare=false" target="_blank" rel="noopener">many of the countries whose data I have examined</a>.
The <a href="https://open.substack.com/pub/supersally/p/short-release-the-hottest-covid-19?r=l1r7e&utm_campaign=post&utm_medium=web&showWelcomeOnShare=false" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Philippines experienced hyper-excess deaths</a> exactly matching the rollout of the COVAX-provided Janssen vaccines. I don’t have sufficient data to explore the possibility of any similar relationship for South Africa.

<content:encoded><![CDATA[After European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen said that the European Union would phase out the use of Russian energy, Slovakia issued a warning in doing so. Slovak Member of the European Parliament (MEP) Milan Uhrik said that Von der Leyen is leading the EU down a path of self-destruction by attempting to sever energy ties with Russia.
In May, von der Leyen announced a plan that would phase out all Russian oil and gas imports by the end of 2027. The commission president stated that this plan is part of the EU’s REPowerEU roadmap, which aims to reduce the bloc’s dependence on Russian fossil fuels and transition to renewable sources.
”[Von der Leyen], you will destroy the EU, and I am convinced that the EU will soon collapse because you are doing everything to make it happen,” Uhrik said in a speech in the European Parliament on Wednesday, <a href="https://www.rt.com/news/621300-eu-collapse-without-russian-energy/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">according to a report by RT. </a>
Political intervention has not served the EU, or any other nation, well in the past, especially when it comes to decisions about energy and its use or where it comes from.

For its part, Russia has said that EU restrictions are self-defeating and causing surging energy prices and weakening the bloc’s economy. Since 2022, Germany has fallen into recession, while growth across the EU has stagnated. At the same time, Russia is crushing Ukraine in a war, getting around sanctions, and otherwise appearing to be able to withstand anything thrown at it.
<blockquote>Brussels is also discussing an 18th sanctions package targeting Russia’s energy and financial sectors. The proposal stalled after Slovakia vetoed it last week. Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico argued that Slovakia was “fighting for our households and businesses” against “harmful ideological decisions” from Brussels. Slovakia seems to have at least some calming rhetoric in a world where everyone and everything is looking for an enemy and economic or hot war.

In an attempt to generate faith in the ceasefire talks, the Palestinian militant group Hamas announced on Wednesday it would release the ten Israeli hostages to show its goodwill and speed up the process of reaching a “comprehensive agreement” to end the hostilities with Israel.
“The core issues remain under negotiation, most notably: the flow of aid, the withdrawal of the occupation from the Gaza Strip, and the provision of genuine guarantees for a permanent ceasefire,” Hamas added, reiterating demands which have been rejected by Israel. The release is a part of the “intensive and responsible efforts to ensure the success of the current round of negotiations,” the group said in a statement, <a href="https://www.rt.com/news/621264-hamas-israeli-hostages-release/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">according to a report by RT. </a>
On Sunday, Israel dismissed some of the unspecified proposals to the ceasefire agreement delivered by Hamas at the latest round of talks in Qatar. According to media reports, the group wanted guarantees that the truce would lead to a permanent ceasefire and Israeli withdrawal from Gaza.

This statement by Hamas comes not long after Israel’s defense minister, Israel Katz, said there is a “plan” in place to displace all of the residents of Gaza in order to create a “humanitarian city.” The new city will be built on the ruins of Rafah on the southern side of the enclave and “secured” by the Israeli military. Palestinians will be prisoners there, disallowed from leaving unless they voluntarily migrate to another country.
Hamas is not likely to agree to Israel creating an internment camp for them.

So why is this such a big deal?
The reason why it is such a big deal is because Mt. In the past, I have discussed the fact that Mt. Rainier is known as the most dangerous volcano in the United States.
Throughout history, there have been times when it has produced tsunamis of super-heated mud known as “lahars” that are hundreds of feet high.
In fact, lots of homes in the region have literally been built right on top of ancient lahar deposits.
Needless to say, that was an extremely foolish thing to do. The next time there is a major eruption of Mt. Rainier, entire communities will be instantly wiped out. Seismologists tell us that Mt. Rainier is capable of producing colossal tsunamis of super-heated mud known as lahars. These lahars can be hundreds of feet high and they can travel at speeds of up to 50 miles per hour.
Thankfully, Mt. Rainier has not produced any lahars since the United States became a nation, but scientists assure us that it is just a matter of time before it happens again.
Unfortunately, this long period of inactivity has lulled us into a false sense of security, and large numbers of people now live in communities that have been constructed on top of the danger zone.
If a lahar were to hit your home, everyone and everything inside would be instantly cooked and permanently buried in blazing hot mud.
According to the USGS, approximately 150,000 people currently live on top of old lahar deposits from Mt. Rainier.
Just think about that for a moment.
Needless to say, that was not very smart planning at all.
Experts tell us that Mt. Rainier is capable of producing a gigantic lahar that would completely destroy Enumclaw, Buckley, Orting, Kent, Auburn, Puyallup, Sumner and Renton. Tacoma would be in great danger as well, and there is a possibility that a lahar from Mt. Rainier could even reach portions of downtown Seattle.
The death and destruction that such an event would cause would be unlike anything that we have ever seen before in the entire history of our country.
If you are currently living in a home that is located directly on top of an ancient lahar deposit, you might want to think about relocating while you still can.
For a moment, I would like for you to imagine what it would be like to have a giant wall of super-heated mud that is hundreds of feet high rushing at you at 50 miles per hour.
For those that are located in the direct path, there will be little hope of escape.</blockquote>
Mt. Rainier is going to erupt at some point.
It is just a matter of time.
Meanwhile, unusual earthquake activity is occurring on the other side of the globe as well.

Can you imagine being crushed to death while you sleep because an earthquake just caused your home to collapse on top of you?
This is the reality of life in that part of Japan in 2025.
Unfortunately, we are going to see a lot more shaking all over the world in the months and years ahead.
Yes, that includes the United States, too.

The new Chinese missiles added to Tehran’s stockpile are likely to improve Iran’s air defenses. However, the country is still lagging behind advanced stealth aircraft, such as Israel’s F-35s, and the United States’ empire-coalescing weapons.

Since being preemptively attacked by Israel, Iran has acquired advanced Chinese surface-to-air missile (SAM) batteries in a bid to rebuild its shattered air defenses. The Islamic Republic is paying for the missiles with oil shipments in a deal that underscores Beijing’s deepening alliance with Tehran. The deliveries began shortly after a June 24 ceasefire ended a 12-day conflict with Israel, during which Israeli airstrikes decimated key Iranian air defense installations, <a href="https://www.naturalnews.com/2025-07-09-iran-rebuilds-air-defenses-with-chinese-missiles.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">according to a report by Natural News. </a>
China is already the major importer of Iran’s crude oil exports, taking 90% of the supply. The oil has been a reliable economic lifeline for the Islamic Republic despite U.S. sanctions. Shipments are often rerouted through countries like Malaysia to obscure their origin, allowing Beijing to maintain its energy supply while keeping diplomatic tensions at bay.
According to intelligence sources in the U.S., the White House and its Arab allies were informed of <a href="https://www.middleeasteye.net/news/iran-receives-chinese-surface-air-missile-batteries-after-israel-ceasefire-say-sources" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Iran’s rapid military rebuilding efforts. This is </a>raising concerns over Tehran’s growing defensive capabilities and its ability to circumvent U.S. sanctions through opaque trade agreements with China.
Most countries sanctioned by the U.S. have either found workarounds to the restrictions or simply flat out disobeyed them. The U.S. is losing its tight grip on power.
This news comes as the U.S. repeatedly changes its mind over whether or not it should be arming Ukraine to fight a war against Russia.
