  171. <p>Oppenheimer signifies the fourth collaboration between writer/director Christopher Nolan and Dutch cinematographer Hoyte van Hoytema, following their work on ‘Interstellar’, ‘Dunkirk’, and ‘Tenet’. Spanning three hours, this epic film delves into the life of J. Robert Oppenheimer, portrayed by Cillian Murphy, famously known as the ‘Father of the atomic bomb.’ Nolan opted for authentic locations, including the Los Alamos facility, pivotal to the Manhattan Project, and the Trinity Test site. Filming was executed in Nolan&#8217;s preferred IMAX format, alongside Panavision 65mm cameras akin to those favoured by David Lean for ‘Lawrence Of Arabia.’ The film&#8217;s cinematography embraces both colour and black-and-white with the 65mm film close to 18k in resolution, leading to the development of the new film stock.</p>
  172. <p>Nolan artfully divided the narrative into two stylistic strands: ‘Fission’ (colour), immersing the audience into Oppenheimer&#8217;s psyche during his formative years and tenure on the Manhattan Project, and ‘Fusion’ (black-and-white), offering a more detached perspective, particularly focusing on Lewis Strauss, portrayed by Robert Downey Jr, who is eventually revealed, was the driving force behind Oppenheimer’s security clearance being revoked in 1954.Many would argue that this was Christopher Nolan’s most ambitious and best film to date and having cleaned up at the recent 2024 academy awards, including Hoyte van Hoytema winning best cinematography, it is hard not to appreciate the spectacle and art of this epic film.</p>

Starring Downton Abbey’s Michelle Dockery alongside Levi Brown, Ben Rose, Eve Austin and Nicholas Pinnock, the series opens in 1981 and focuses on four young people and their families who seek a second chance through music.</p>
  1377. <p>Set against the backdrop of the ska scene, which united black, white and Asian youths, viewers see the group of youngsters trying to forge their own paths in life. The thrilling saga tells the story of a band’s formation against a backdrop of violence, capturing how creative genius can emerge from a time of madness.</p>
  1378. <p>Producer Steven Knight also drew from his <a href="https://www.shropshirestar.com/entertainment/2024/03/30/this-town-creator-steven-knight-on-his-love-for-the-black-country-and-birmingham--and-its-bright-future-in-filmmaking/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">own experiences</a> growing up in the &#8217;80s in Birmingham and the Midlands.</p>

The setting and backdrop for This Town is 1981, Birmingham and Coventry. &#8217;81 was a time of turmoil and change in every sense &#8211; in society, in politics, but in music as well. This series opens with a riot and I hope the sense of &#8216;riot&#8217; continues throughout the whole thing. The riot was a real thing, it happened in Handsworth, Birmingham, and I’ve used that to introduce four very different characters who will come together.</em></p>

I didn’t really want to do a thing about people who form a band, which is part of what it is, I wanted to create a group people who have no choice other than to form a band because all the other options are so bleak.</em></p>

A Hollywood film that has been a topic for hot debate recently, has utilised this AI technology to great effect, enhancing their visuals and storytelling capabilities!</p>

The film experiments with AI technology and artwork throughout the film to create an atmosphere of an eerie 70’s aesthetic. Among them is an illustration of a skeleton dancing in the middle of a pumpkin patch and the occasional “We’ll be right back” message.</p></div>
