46.
Under the leadership of its founders Joseph and Elizabeth Farah, WND has committed to adhering to the "Biblical Heartland Resolution" passed recently by the National Religious Broadcasters convention, whereby participants pledge to use the terms "Judea and Samaria" when referring to the region in eastern central Israel, rather than the ubiquitous but misleading term "West Bank."

 47.
"NRB opposes the use of the erroneous term 'West Bank' to describe the biblical heartland of Israel and calls on its members to refer to the region by its historic name of Judea and Samaria," read the statement released by the organization at its national convention in Nashville, Tenn., earlier this year.

 48.
National Religious Broadcasters is an international association of evangelical communicators with 141 million Americans using Christian media at least once per month. The "Biblical Heartland Resolution" called for participating media to refer to the region solely as Judea and Samaria for the simple reason that this was the terminology of the Bible and has been used throughout history.

 49.
The resolution adopted the historically and biblically accurate terms of Judea and Samaria – or in Hebrew, Yehuda and Shomron – referring to the Northern and Southern Kingdoms of Israel. The term "West Bank," explained the resolution, is intentionally inaccurate.
52.
The 1922 League of Nations’ decision to create the Mandate for Palestine allocated the entire region of Judea and Samaria for Jewish settlement. From 1949-1967, the region was illegally occupied by Jordan, which cleansed the region of Jews, prohibiting them from returning. The term "West Bank" was introduced by the Kingdom of Jordan to refer to Israel's occupation of the land on the west bank of the Jordan River from 1948-1950.

 53.
Some news organizations inaccurately describe the region as being "illegally occupied by Israel" when, in fact, international law does not recognize any country’s sovereignty over Judea and Samaria. Many experts maintain that Israel has the most valid claim to the area, being the only national entity to have populated, developed and administered the area for the last 3,000 years.

 54.
However, Israel has withheld annexing Judea and Samaria, recognizing that the "international community" considers the region "disputed."

 55.
"Words matter in how we control the conversation and the language," said Troy Miller, president of the NRB, when the resolution was passed. He urged Christian media to reinforce the Jewish heritage of the land as recounted in the Bible.

 56.
"Younger Christians don’t understand that the 'West Bank' is within the biblical boundaries of Israel," he said. Miller also noted that the majority of the biblically significant locations are within Judea and Samaria.

 57.
"Judea and Samaria are the biblical heartland of Israel, which includes sites such as Hebron, Bethel, Shiloh and Shechem, along with many other places with rich biblical heritage," the NRB resolution stated. "The Scripture foretells both the exile and return of the Jewish people to Judea and Samaria (Jeremiah 31)."

 58.
The resolution noted that the terms Judea and Samaria also play a prominent role in the Christian Bible.

 59.
"The New Testament speaks of the region of Judea and tells of Jesus being born 'in Bethlehem in Judea' (Matthew 2) and references the prophet Micah, 'But you, Bethlehem, in the land of Judah, are by no means least among the rulers of Judah; for out of you will come a ruler who will shepherd my people Israel' (Micah 5:2,4)," the resolution states. "Jesus passed through Samaria when he returned from Jerusalem to the Galilee and the region of Samaria and its people are referenced."

 60.
The resolution points out that the term "West Bank" has helped to advance a nefarious political agenda.

 61.
"Throughout history, enemies of the Jewish people have attempted to erase the Jewish connection to the land by renaming it – whether it's the Roman attempt to sever Jewish ties to the entire land of Israel by renaming it 'Philistia' (or the Greek 'Palestina') or it's Jordan renaming Judea and Samaria 'the West Bank,' or modern governments calling it the 'occupied Palestinian Territories' – the truth to the region’s identity lies in its biblical roots," the resolution explains. "Referring to Judea and Samaria as the 'West Bank' is an attempt to replace the region’s Jewish identity."

 62.
Just as intended by the Jordanians who coined the phrase, using the term "West Bank" is intended to sever the historical/biblical connection between the Jewish state and Judea and Samaria. This is an essential precursor to enacting the misnamed "two-state solution," which would create an unprecedented and militarized Arab state inside the borders of Israel, ethnically cleansing the biblical heartland of Jews and with an exclusively Muslim capital in Jerusalem.

 63.
The Biden administration has dedicated itself to the "two-state solution" and, toward this end, has funded the Palestinian Authority and advanced a policy of sanctions targeting Jewish Israelis who live in Judea and Samaria.

 64.
Indeed, the Biblical Heartland Resolution set the stage for David Friedman, Donald Trump’s ambassador to Israel, to present his "Plan for Lasting Peace" in the Middle East, which sidesteps the "two-state solution." Friedman emphasized that creating a Palestinian state in the wake of the horrific Oct. 7 attack would essentially reward Hamas for murdering Jews.

 65.
Unlike previous peace plans, Friedman's plan called for full Israeli sovereignty throughout what are currently Judea and Samaria’s areas A, B and C. (A is under full Palestinian Authority control, C is under full Israeli control, and B is militarily controlled by Israel and civilly controlled for Palestinians by the PA.)

 66.
The "two-state" agenda pits Biden against Trump. Like his former boss, President Barack Obama, Joe Biden is pushing a Palestinian state as a supposed path to peace in the region, essentially the same policy guiding U.S. foreign policy in the Middle East since the creation of the State of Israel. However, Donald Trump rejected this policy. He introduced the Taylor Force Act, which defunded the Palestinian Authority due to its policy of paying stipends to terrorists, and he defunded UNRWA (the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East) due to its ties to terrorism.

 67.
Sidestepping the Palestinians entirely, Trump negotiated the Abraham Accords, normalizing relations between Israel and four of its Arab Muslim neighbors, proving that the Palestinians have been the obstacle, and not the key, to peace in the Middle East.

 68.
Knesset Member Dan Illouz was at the NRB convention and enthusiastically praised the Biblical Heartland Resolution:

 69.
"Judea and Samaria is the historical heartland of the Jewish people," Illouz said. "Using any other terminology is just a trick to confuse people and ignore the simple fact: Jews are from Judea. That is where our name comes from! We thank our friends at the National Religious Broadcasters for taking this clear stance within Christian media, and I call on the Jewish media to do the same."

 117.
The Israel Summit — a "gathering of pro-Israel supporters who unconditionally support Israel’s right to be sovereign in the entirety of the land of Israel, including Jerusalem, Judea and Samaria, and the Gaza Strip," according to the event website — was scheduled to take place at the Sonesta Nashville Airport Hotel next week, May 20–22. But last Friday, a representative for the hotel abruptly canceled the event.

 119.
The representative told HaYovel, a Christian organization that is coordinating the event, in an email dated May 10: "We have received credible threats regarding the safety of your group, our guests and employees, our hotel and sister property, and to businesses in our neighborhood. Those threats were confirmed by law enforcement officials in the last 24 hours. Consequently, we are invoking our rights under the force majeure clause of the contract and unfortunately are canceling the event that was scheduled for May 20-22, including canceling any guestroom reservations associated with the event. We are sincerely sorry."

 167.
Criminal defense attorney Bill Brennan, who previously represented former President Donald Trump, and former federal prosecutor Shan Wu on Thursday sparred over whether Michael Cohen is a bad witness.

 168.
Cohen faced cross-examination again on Thursday, with even CNN pundits questioning whether the jury will buy the admitted liar’s testimony as the star witness appeared to falter. Brennan challenged Wu to name a worse witness than Cohen, whose credibility has come under significant scrutiny because of his multiple admissions of lying under oath.

 172.
“From a jury standpoint, one thing to remember too, the extent you see Cohen leaning back in the chair or thinking to himself, you know, ‘I’m not really sure.’ That’s actually not the hallmark of a pathological liar, a pathological liar doesn’t reconsider the accuracy,” Wu said. “They just like totally lean into it. That may actually have the opposite effect on the jury. They may think he‘s actually thinking carefully. He is trying to be accurate.”

 173.
“The jury might take years and years and years of documented lies. He lies, he lies about the lies he told he lies some more, and because he leans back in his chair and Blanche yells at him, they may say, oh, we’re going to wipe that away?” Brennan asked Wu. “I don‘t think so.”

 174.
Wu responded he was not referring to Blanche’s yelling leading to the jury trusting Cohen, but that it is “silly” to describe Cohen as “the worst witness ever.”

 175.
“The worst liar ever, Shan,” Brennan retorted, to which Wu said was “even sillier” and posited that “an enforcer from the mob who’s killed people” would be a worse liar than Cohen.

 176.
“Let’s use that. Sammy Gravano … killed 19 people but he wasn’t a liar … This guy is a lying liar who just lies about everything he says. And credibility is the currency of a jury trial, and people don’t like to be conned,” Brennan said. “He could lean back in his chair, he can sit straight in his chair. Blanche can whisper, Blanche can yell, but those lies can’t be denied.”

 177.
Keith Davidson, who formerly represented porn star Stormy Daniels and was a prosecution witness, testified that Cohen desired a role in Trump’s White House and that he believed Cohen was going to “kill himself” due to not receiving a position. 202.
Federal immigration authorities cited a Department of Homeland Security (DHS) policy directive when explaining their handling of an illegal immigrant who is now charged with the murder of a teenager.

 203.
Antonio Antonio-Rodas, an illegal immigrant from Guatemala, was arrested and charged with murder last week for a fatal car accident in Alabama involving a 19-year-old.

 205.
Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) confirmed to the DCNF that they had been aware of Antonio-Rodas’ criminal history and legal status since he was arrested for a DUI in 2021, but cited the COVID-19 pandemic and a directive issued by (DHS) Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas that altered enforcement priorities as a reason for not taking custody of him at the time.

 206.
The Semmes Police Department arrested Antonio-Rodas earlier this month for a car crash on April 28 in a Mobile, Alabama, suburb that resulted in the death of 19-year-old Adam Luker.

 207.
On the day of the deadly accident, calls were made to law enforcement about a reckless driver on the road, according to the crash report. Responding officers noticed “a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from the driver” and discovered “open and unopened alcohol containers in his car.”

 208.
Antonio-Rodas was driving 88 miles per hour when the crash occurred and a blood alcohol test showed his level to be three times more than the legal limit, according to local reports.

 209.
ICE confirmed to the Daily Caller News Foundation that Antonio-Rodas unlawfully entered the U.S.

 210.
“On an unknown date and location, Antonio entered the United States without inspection, admission, or parole by an immigration officer,” an ICE spokesperson stated. “On Dec. 27, 2018, the United States Border (USBP) arrested Antonio near Hidalgo, Texas and served him with a Notice to Appear.”

 211.
“On Jan. 4, 2019, ERO San Antonio released him on an order of recognizance,” the statement continued.

 212.
Nearly three years after being released from ERO (ICE’s Enforcement and Removal Operations), however, he was on the agency’s radar for a DUI arrest. ERO New Orleans encountered Antonio-Rodas at the Mobile County Metro Jail following his arrest for DUI in November 2021 — an incident in which he was convicted in September 2022.

 213.
At the time of the encounter, the agency said, ERO officers were prioritizing their enforcement actions in accordance with the Guidelines for the Enforcement of Civil Immigration Law issued by Mayorkas on September 30, 2021.

 214.
That policy directive — citing the millions of illegal immigrants currently living in the U.S. — encouraged agencies to exercise “prosecutorial discretion” when determining who should be subject to arrests, detainers and removal proceedings. The memo also claimed that the majority of illegal immigrants who could be subject for removal have been “contributing members of our communities for years.”

 215.
The agency additionally said the COVID-19 pandemic significantly reduced the number of illegal immigrants ICE agents were able to arrest and deport, and also pointed to the immigration crisis which forced the agency to divert resources to the southern border.

 216.
ICE lodged a detainer request with the Mobile County Metro Police Department for Antonio-Rodas on May 9, one day after he was arrested locally on murder charges, the agency confirmed to the DCNF.

 217.
However, the murder victim’s family is unhappy that this man wasn’t deported sooner.

 218.
“If that had been the case, then this would have never happened,” stated Will Phillips, an attorney who represents the family, according to Fox10 News. “You know, the federal government has access to all of the, you know, information about arrests and that kind of thing.”

 219.
The incident comes as Mayorkas continues to take heavy GOP criticism for not doing enough to address the immigration crisis, which has seen record numbers of illegal immigrants cross the southern border.

 220.
The GOP-controlled House voted to impeach the DHS secretary in February. However, the Democrat-controlled Senate dismissed those impeachment charges in April.

 221.
Luker succumbed to his wounds about a week after the crash. A GoFundMe was launched to help support the family.

 222.
The Department of Homeland Security did not immediately respond to a request for comment from the DCNF.

 247.
National Institutes of Health (NIH) Principal Deputy Director Lawrence Tabak testified on Thursday that a former aide to Dr. Anthony Fauci allegedly violated the agency’s public records policy by disposing of certain emails.

 248.
Fauci’s senior advisor at the NIH Dr. David Morens allegedly intentionally obstructed the House Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic’s investigations into the origins of COVID-19 to protect his boss. Tabak told Republican House Oversight Chair James Comer in response to his questioning during a hearing that Morens allegedly violated NIH policy by getting rid of emails following public records requests.

 252.
“Dr. David Morens, a senior advisor to Fauci for decades, wrote in an email to Dr. Daszak, ‘I learned from our FOIA lady here how to make emails disappear after I am FOIA’d, but before the search starts. So I think we are all safe. Plus I deleted most of those earlier emails after sending them to Gmail.’ Is that consistent with NIH document retention policies?” Comer asked, to which Tabak answered that it’s not.

 253.
EcoHealth Alliance President Peter Daszak allegedly misled the federal government to receive grants that funded virus research at the Wuhan Institute of Virology, where some suspect the COVID-19 pandemic originated.

 254.
“Does the NIH FOIA office teach employees how to avoid transparency?” Comer followed up.

 255.
“I certainly hope not,” Tabak said.

 256.
Daszak appeared for a transcribed interview in November 2023, where he called Morens a “mentor.”

And if we found them, ‘we would delete them,” Comer said, again asking if this is consistent with agency policy and Tabak again saying it’s not.

 258.
“Finally, emails show that Dr. Morens would share internal questions about upcoming FOIA releases with Dr. Daszak. He would then help Dr. Daszak craft responses to documents being released in these FOIAs. Are those actions consistent with NIH policies?” Comer asked.

 259.
Tabak expressed uncertainty about whether these actions took place, but said they would not be consistent with agency policy.

 309.
By J. Kennerly Davis
310. Real Clear Wire

 311.
May brings more bad economic news for hard-pressed American households. “Transitory” inflation remains firmly entrenched at rates equal to or higher than those reported at the start of 2024.

 312.
The Labor Department reports this week that the Consumer Price Index, or CPI, it’s official measure of the rate of change in the retail price of a basket of everyday goods and services, rose 0.3% in the month of April, the same as for the month of January. For twelve months, CPI increased 3.4% through April compared to 3.1% for twelve months through January. And wholesale prices, a good indicator of future retail prices, increased much more than expected in April, rising at the fastest annual rate since April 2023.

 313.
The cumulative effect of persistent inflation is devastating. Since President Biden took office in 2021 the CPI is up, and Americans’ purchasing power is down, by 19%. For basic necessities, the situation is even worse. Groceries are up 21%. Gasoline prices are up 47%. The cost of shelter 20%, and electricity almost 30%.

 314.
American workers cannot keep up. Since President Biden took office, average hourly earnings after inflation have fallen over 2.5%. A typical American family must pay $12,000 more per year simply to maintain the standard of living that it enjoyed when President Biden took office.

 316.
As bad as the official CPI numbers are, actual inflation is much worse. That is because the government calculates CPI using a methodology intentionally designed to understate actual inflation. It does so to conceal the destructive results that inevitably flow from its irresponsible policies.

 317.
Inflation is always and everywhere the result of government policies that increase the supply of money circulating in the economy faster than the productive sectors of the economy can expand their capacity to produce goods and services for purchase.

 318.
From day one, the Biden administration has flooded the economy with borrowed money in the form of transfer payments, subsidies, and grants designed to purchase the political support of favored constituencies such as those in the green tech sector. At the same time, Biden-controlled federal agencies have unleashed a tidal wave of crushing regulation designed to reduce the productive capacity of disfavored constituencies such as the oil and gas industry. The inflation that afflicts us was inevitable.

 319.
President Biden has asserted that fighting inflation is the “top economic priority” of his administration. Such a statement would be laughable if the subject matter was not so serious. This president has no intention of altering the policies that define and drive the progressive agenda. There is no war on inflation or, indeed, any serious attempt to bring it under control and stabilize prices. Inflation is baked into the progressive model of government that depends on the continuing disbursement of borrowed money to political supporters.

 320.
Under President Biden, the national debt has increased a whopping $13 Trillion and now stands at over $34.6 Trillion. Concerned commentators point out that it will require much sacrifice, potentially disruptive sacrifice, to pay off or even materially to pay down the national debt. They lament that elected officials seem to lack the will and have no plan to deal with the national debt.

 321.
In fact, the progressive political class does have a plan to deal with the national debt. Their plan is to perpetuate inflation and thereby to engineer a slow-motion stealth default on the debt that will enable them to continue to enjoy without disruption the political benefits that flow to them from their irresponsible debt-funded vote buying.

 322.
During the periodic “fiscal cliff” showdowns in Congress, it is often said that the United States cannot default on its debt. An outright default would certainly shred the government’s credibility in financial markets and dangerously undermine its ability to access those markets to raise funds in the future.

 323.
There is also a legal reason that the United States cannot default on its debt. Section 4 of the Fourteenth Amendment to the Constitution, enacted to repudiate Confederate debt and put beyond question the integrity of the obligations of the United States, provides in part that “The validity of the public debt of the United States…shall not be questioned.”

 324.
Compliance with the Constitution requires that the obligations incurred by the government be repaid in full, dollar for dollar. But, over time, inflation steadily reduces the value of the dollars used by the government to repay the obligations it has incurred. The purchasing power, or value, of a dollar has decreased by 19% just since President Biden took office and is today worth only 81% of what it was worth in January 2021.

 325.
This dollar-cheapening inflation, created by irresponsible spend-to-elect policies, enables the government to pay off its debts for cents on the dollar, and effectively default on the obligations it has incurred as a result of those policies. Clearly, inflation is not a bug in the government’s financial system. It is an essential feature.

 326.
The Federal Reserve actively supports the spend-elect-inflate model of governance by pursuing policies designed to achieve and maintain a rate of inflation equal to 2% per year. Over a generation, that rate of inflation will reduce the value of a dollar by approximately 50%. That will certainly help the government avoid having to fully repay its debts, but it will be devastating to American households.

 327.
By using inflated dollars to pay its debt, the government is failing to honor its financial obligations. It is defaulting on those obligations and cheating the institutions and individuals who purchased its securities. And it is violating the Constitution. Inflation is not only destructive economically; it is also unlawful.

 354.
It has 15 members appointed by the governor, including five who are vetted for their race, and rejected if they don't qualify.

 355.
The case is being handled by Pacific Legal Foundation which is taking action on behalf of the American Alliance for Equal Rights.

 357.
The foundation explained, "Government regulatory boards are commonplace for countless professions throughout the country. Minnesota social workers fall under the purview of the Minnesota Board of Social Work, which has 15 members—ten social workers and five members of the public."

 358.
But, the case noted, the demand that "at least five members must also be racial minorities."

 359.
The AAER has members who would like to be considered, but they aren't from the "preferred race."

 360.
"Minnesota cannot use race to disqualify or disfavor individuals from public service. Race quotas are unjust, demeaning, and unconstitutional under the Fourteenth Amendment," explained Brandon Beyer, attorney at Pacific Legal Foundation. "People should be treated as individuals, not as members of a group they did not choose."

 361.
In fact, the foundation has uncovered such situations in at least 25 states already, and it is working on multiple situations.

 362.
There are three open positions on the board now, and six more coming open in January 2026, but Gov. Tim Walz, a Democrat, has not proposed any appointments yet.

 363.
The court filing cites the Equal Protection Clause of the 14th Amendment to the Constitution.

 364.
The demand addresses no "compelling" government interest in the issue, and does not address "any specific instances" of discrimination.

 365.
The action, filed in federal court in Minnesota, seeks a declaration that the racial preference mandate is unconstitutional and a permanent injunction preventing the governor from making appointments based on race.

 366.
It charges, "The racial mandate … stereotypes individuals on the basis of race, treats all individuals of different races as fungible, mandates racial quotas, requires racial balancing, has no 'good faith exception' and no end date."
